Marriage Not Dating Episode 9 Recap

The episode starts with our six main characters sitting together, sipping something – probably alcohol by the way Hoon Dong clinked cups with Hyun Hee. Hoon Dong is sitting across from Hyun Hee, Ki Tae across from Se Ah and Yeo Reum across from Jang Mi. Hoon Dong is smiling at Hyun Hee, but it almost looks like it’s for show. Ki Tae keeps peeking over at Jang Mi and Yeo Reum is just enjoying the beach. He smiles over at Jang Mi. Hyun Hee is slightly smiling, Se Ah is definitely drinking beer since she’s using a glass and she’s thoughtfully (sadly) looking at Ki Tae, Jang Mi is sitting almost with her back to Se Ah, drinking.

Jang Mi’s voiceover declares that today they are all spending a night together in a faraway place. Jang Mi glances over at Ki Tae. Ki Tae’s trying not to look at Jang Mi too much. And before the day ends, all six of them will kiss someone. That kiss will confirm the love of some people and cause pain to others. Things like this are a common occurrence on a summer trip. What trips are you going on? That kind of stuff never happened on my trips to the beach. And man! That’s a lot of bottles of alcohol!

[ Episode 9: In a Faraway Place, One Night ]

We jump back to Jang Mi in the wedding dress, running into Ki Tae on the street. This time the sad music plays, there’s no words from Ki Tae and Jang Mi immediately jumps into the car and drives off with Yeo Reum. Oma watches her go, shocked. She asks Son-In-Law Gong, why Jang Mi is acting like that. She stops talking when she notices Se Ah. Se Ah asks if Oma is Jang Mi's mother. Oma says that she is and asks who Se Ah is. Ki Tae starts to try to come up with something. Se Ah interjects, introducing herself. She starts to say that she’s Ki Tae’s– when Mom interrupts and declares that she’ll say it. Se Ah could totally have just been about to say ‘chingu/friend.’

Mom declares that Se Ah was once engaged to Ki Tae. Oma is shocked. Ki Tae tries to get Mom to stop, by saying her name, but Mom keeps going, saying that she even chose a wedding dress for Se Ah. But unfortunately, it wasn't worn. Se Ah’s face reads uncomfortable and Ki Tae’s face says that he can’t believe that Mom is going to ruin everything with Oma.

Oma can’t believe what she’s hearing and asks Son-In-Law Gong if it’s true. He can’t meet her eyes. She asks again, still not meeting her eyes, has to say, “Yes.” Oma is stunned. Especially since Se Ah could be a model and Ki Tae’s standing right there with her and they came together. Mom’s practically smiling as she says that lots of people know about their relationship and Mom’s decided to tell her because hearing it from someone else might really upset Oma.

Mom turns to Oma and asks that she be understanding of Ki Tae’s flaw. Oma nods and declares that it's not like breaking up is a big deal in this century. It’s not like Ki Tae’s divorced or anything. Oma looks over at Ki Tae and Se Ah and says that what she can't understand is why they are still hanging around each other. Oma turns back to Mom and asks if Mom picked out the same dress that Se Ah was going to wear. Mom replies that it’s not the exact same dress, but, in any case, it seems she didn't think it through.

Oma sighs and declares that she understands now why her Jang Mi was so hesitant to get married. Oma shoot a hard look at Ki Tae before saying that Jang Mi must've been so sad, to have left while wearing her wedding dress. Oma sighs again. She tells Son-in-law Gong– she’s looking at him and she stops. After a moment she changes that to Gong Ki Tae and says that she will have to reconsider this marriage. Ouch! Demoted to Mr. Gong Ki Tae. Mom looks over at him, almost with a smirk. Ki Tae blinks several times at Oma’s announcement. Oma frowns and pushes Ki Tae and Se Ah to walk away. Double ouch. Got shoved aside.

Se Ah says that this happened because of her. She apologizes *to Mom.* Even though she just screwed up Ki Tae’s engagement, but I guess she doesn’t think she needs to apologize, because it’s not a real engagement. In the grand scheme of things, this is the perfect opportunity for Ki Tae to declare that he will be single forever! Mom says that she’s the one who is sorry. Ki Tae looks at her with disbelief then sighs because he can’t believe how much things have gotten screwed up because of Mom again.

Ki Tae calls Jang Mi’s phone. She doesn’t answer it. She should just turn it off. Jang Mi isn’t crying anymore. She asks Yeo Reum where they are going. But interestingly, not where he got the car, since I don’t think he has a car. Whose car is that? Yeo Reum answers that they decided to run away, doesn’t she remember, to a faraway place.

Ki Tae is using the blue tooth in his car to try to call Jang Mi. After he gets Jang Mi’s answering message, he hangs up. After about 5 seconds he tries calling again. Se Ah looks sad. She says that she really wanted to help them this time. Ki Tae doesn’t say anything. Se Ah mentions how this is weird. It was always a marriage that was supposed to be broken, so what's the big deal? Ki Tae doesn’t say anything, doesn’t look at her, even though she’s looking at him. She tells him that he’s too serious.

Ki Tae arrives at Bon Café. Without looking at Se Ah, he apologizes because he can't drop her off. She should just take a taxi. How about that for a snub? Ki Tae gets out of the car and goes looking for Hoon Dong. Hoon Dong is sitting at one of the tables, playing with a model airplane. He really is a ten-year-old. Ki Tae asks where Jang Mi is. Hoon Dong has no idea why Ki Tae is asking him about that. Ki Tae is puzzled. He says that it was definitely Hoon Dong’s car. Oh! I forgot that Yeo Reum was supposed to get it washed. Heh. That’s funny.

Hoon Dong’s not really paying attention to Ki Tae, but is spinning the propeller of his airplane. He says that Yeo Reum took his car to get it washed. Ki Tae really starts frowning. Hoon Dong notices. Ki Tae leaves Bon Café. Hoon Dong runs after him, asking what’s going on. Ki Tae calls *Yeo Reum* and asks where they are. Hoon Dong asks if Yeo Reum kidnapped Jang Mi. Ki Tae yells at Hoon Dong to just be quiet!

Yeo Reum is also using the Bluetooth in the car. Safe driving. He says that they are going to the beach. Ki Tae can’t believe he heard right. Yeo Reum repeats himself. Hoon Dong grabs the phone out of Ki Tae’s hands and demands to know where Yeo Reum is taking his car!? Ki Tae looks like he wants to punch Hoon Dong. He definitely wants to punch something. He wrestles the phone back and tells Yeo Reum to give the phone to Jang Mi.

Her voice tired, Jang Mi declares that she’s there. Ki Tae starts to explain but Jang Mi tells him that she’s sorry, but for the time being, she shouldn’t look for her. Hoon Dong’s eavesdropping face is pretty funny. Jang Mi says that if she hears Mom calling her name one more time, she doesn't know what crazy thing she will end up doing. She’s scared of herself. Jang Mi hangs up the phone and Ki Tae looks totally freaked out.

Without a word to Hoon Dong, Ki Tae heads for his car. Hoon Dong hurries and jumps in the car, too. Ki Tae tells him to get out. Hoon Dong declares that he has to go find his car. But I can tell that he really wants to help Ki Tae out. Hoon Dong’s face says that it’s not up for discussion. As Ki Tae pulls on his seatbelt, Se Ah hops in the backseat. Ki Tae practically groans. Se Ah smiles and says that it’s great timing. She actually wanted to go to the beach too. She did ask him to go to the beach not two hours ago. Put upon Ki Tae can do nothing but accept that they’re coming.

♫ I'm missing you. Before we forget each other, ♫
♫ take my hand! ♫
♫ Your voice, that surrounds my ears ♫
♫ Images of you that I can't seem to forget ♫
♫ They're fading ♫
♫ So that I can find you again ♫

Yeo Reum is driving with the top down. Jang Mi’s veil blows off and it’s like a weight is lifted. She breaks into a smile and Yeo Reum smiles widely back. He has such a great smile. They put their hands up to feel the air as it blows by.

♫ Oh, call me! Call my name! ♫
♫ Call my name! ♫
♫ If you're listening, so that I can keep remembering you ♫
♫ Call me! Call my name. ♫

Jang Mi is still in the wedding dress as she and Yeo Reum sit on the beach. People are looking at them as they walk by. She chuckles and says that she looks like a bride who just ran away from the altar. Running away because of love. Looking at the ocean, Yeo Reum asks what exactly was so hard. Jang Mi shrugs and says that it was a variety of things, including Oma. Jang Mi says that she doesn’t care what she has to go through, but Oma, who is very assertive, had to be so submissive in front of the in-laws, saying "Yes, Yes", "Ho, Ho." It was upsetting. Oma was looked down upon and didn't even know it was happening.

Yeo Reum looks at her and clucks that again she’s letting herself get too involved, when it's just a fake marriage. Jang Mi can’t believe she’s doing it either. She says that she’s become too emotionally attached to this damn fake wedding scheme. They chuckle. She stands up and tells Yeo Reum that they should go back now. She has to go return the dress. It’s probably very expensive. Yeo Reum tells her not to worry about it. Ki Tae hyung will pay for it. He has a lot of money.

Ki Tae announces that it’s *his* money, surprises the pair. Ki Tae wants to know why they are acting so nonchalantly about his money. Hoon Dong walks up and tells them that they sure did come to a faraway place in someone else's car. Yeo Reum’s really surprised to be busted by Hoon Dong. Se Ah walks up and says that it's a perfect day for tanning.

Jang Mi sputters, wondering how they find them. Ki Tae clears his throat and she realizes that he tracked her down again! Ki Tae has to hold back a self-satisfied smile. Jang Mi grabs her phone and screams that she needs to completely get rid of her phone! She starts running down the beach, with Yeo Reum running after her, telling her to calm down.

Then Jang Mi falls flat on her face. Ki Tae immediately goes running, since she could have gotten hurt. Hoon Dong follows after. Because of the dress, she can’t get up. Se Ah smiles with satisfaction at the lovely day as the guys yell to flip Jang Mi over.

Hoon Dong is reunited with his car. Yeo Reum chuckles as Hoon Dong asks if the car missed daddy. Yeo Reum laughs and says that he drove it gently. Hoon Dong answers by slapping him in the back of the head. Ouch. He jumped to put more force in it, too. Yeo Reum grabs the back of his head and looks at Hoon Dong with surprise. Hoon Dong calls Yeo Reum a brat and says that he clearly warned Yeo Reum not to mess with Jang Mi. He goes to hit Yeo Reum, but kicks Yeo Reum in the shins instead. Yeo Reum protests.

Hoon Dong asks if it’s just Yeo Reum’s body that hurts! Imagine how hurt his best friend, Ki Tae, must have been when he had to chase down his run-away fiancée! Ki Tae is standing close by but says nothing. Hoon Dong makes like he’s going to hit or kick Yeo Reum several times before he jumps up on his fender to really slap Yeo Reum in the back of the head. Yeo Reum protests that Hoon Dong doesn’t know what happened. Hoon Dong tries to kick him again.

Yeo Reum runs over to Ki Tae, calling him ‘hyung,’ and asking him to tell Hoon Dong. Ki Tae asks what he’s supposed to be telling. Yeo Reum can’t believe that Ki Tae is really going to act like this. Ki Tae sucks some air through his teeth and declares that Yeo Reum could use a beating. He waves at Yeo Reum to follow him. Hoon Dong paws the ground while a bull sound is hear. Then he runs and takes a flying slap at Yeo Reum. Yeo Reum protests and Hoon Dong picks up a sign to inflict further damage. He misses. Yeo Reum runs.

Jang Mi’s out of the dress and in some borrowed ajumma clothes. Inwardly she’s groaning at how terrible they are. Those are really lovely, floral, high rise pants there. Jang Mi thinks back to running into Ki Tae on the street. She goes and sits down outside. Ki Tae arrives and does a double take. Then, with a big smile to butter her up, he declares that wow, those baggy pants suit her perfectly. What any woman wants to hear. He smiles at her like there’s nothing wrong at all, in the least. She asks him why he same. Ki Tae asks why he wouldn't come. His future wife has run away with another man. Jang Mi doesn’t smile.

Jang Mi asks Ki Tae if he has any idea what she had to endure wearing that dress. He looks in the direction that she’s pointing, still acting like nothing’s at all wrong or different. Jang Mi shoves him and yells that even if this is a fake marriage… while she’s preparing for the marriage, he’s nowhere to be found. Ki Tae rubs his arm where she slapped him. She asks him if he knows how she felt standing in front of the two moms. He replies that Because he knows is why he followed her there. She doesn’t know what he means. Genuinely apologetic, Ki Tae apologizes. He says that she must have had a really hard time because of him. He’s sorry that he wasn’t there with her.

Jang Mi makes a face that says that she’s considering forgiving Ki Tae. He continues, saying that he’s also worried that Oma might be upset. Jang Mi wants to know why Oma would be upset. Se Ah answers – of course she does – saying that Oma found out about her and Ki Tae’s relationship. She’s carrying a couple of bags. She goes to stand in front of Jang Mi as she says that Oma is going to reconsider the marriage. Jang Mi sighs, frustrated. Se Ah says that she didn't intend it this way, but Jang Mi’s fake marriage has become a bit more risky because of her. Ki Tae looks at Jang Mi, hoping that she’s forgiven him.

Se Ah adds that she made such a problem so that Ki Tae came running after Jang Mi. She doesn’t add that Ki Tae is freaking out, not because his ruse might be blown, but because Jang Mi might leave. Jang Mi nods and says that of course he would. He’s sorry to her?! Ki Tae’s a little surprised that she’s mad again. She yells at him that he really came because he was worried that his plan to live unmarried forever might fail! Ki Tae waves his hands in protest that that just isn’t true, that she’s got it all wrong. Se Ah doesn’t help out here either. Ki Tae protests that it's not like that.

Se Ah suggests that they stop talking about such boring things when they’ve all come so far. Ki Tae looks over at Jang Mi, worried. Se Ah asks Jang Mi if she wants to join in sunbathing. Se Ah holds up the bags and says that she brought the things they need. Jang Mi basically says ‘whatever’ and says that she’s leaving, so the pair of them can bake or fry their bodies by themselves. She puts on her shoes and walks off. Ki Tae watches her go, uncomfortable because he’s never really had to grovel with her before. I don’t think he’s really ever had to grovel in any of his relationships. I can’t see a fight with Se Ah where there was groveling, because I don’t think he ever really connected with her like that.

Yeo Reum arrives, rubbing his shoulder. Jang Mi tells him that they should go. Hoon Dong appears right after him and asks where they’re planning on going. Jang Mi makes a face at him. He makes a glaring face back. Ki Tae has followed her and asks if they even have a car to leave in. Jang Mi proudly says that she’ll take bus. Ki Tae asks about her money. She doesn’t have any, just her phone. Ki Tae laughs. Jang Mi looks over at Yeo Reum and he doesn’t have any. How are you going to run off with a girl and not have any money? Hoon Dong smiles because Jang Mi is stuck. Se Ah also smiles. Jang Mi sighs.

Se Ah walks up to Jang Mi and suggests, that since they’ve already come to the seaside, they should play a little before they leave. She drags a protesting Jang Mi away. Ki Tae gives Yeo Reum a glare before he follows them, which makes Yeo Reum laugh. Hoon Dong makes the ‘I’m watching you’ sigh with his fingers and then drags his hand across his throat, like Yeo Reum is dead. Yeo Reum sighs.

Beach chairs with umbrellas. Se Ah’s laying back, basking in the sun. Jang Mi is sitting, annoyed. Se Ah tells her that she doesn't need to be so guarded. She adds that she’s on the same side as Jang Mi and Ki Tae. Jang Mi doesn’t buy it. After all, she wants to keep the secret Se Ah’s on the side of exposing the truth. Se Ah replies that she just needs one gift from Ki Tae. Really? It's a really small one, but Ki Tae’s being stubborn and won't give it to her. A baby is *not* a small gift. It’s one of the biggest gifts you can give.

Jang Mi sighs and turns to face Se Ah. She says that it must have been hard for Se Ah, too, marrying Ki Tae. Jang Mi says that she understand how she must have felt. It's enough to give up halfway through. Se Ah smiles and says, “Not really.” She doesn’t remember it being that hard. But since Jang Mi grew up in a different environment, it might be problematic. Wow, nice back-handed comment. Jang Mi groans, annoyed. She says that they’re supposed to be on the same side! Girls are supposed to become friends by badmouthing *other* people. Se Ah must not understand that feeling.

Ki Tae has sat down on the other side of Jang Mi. He asks who Jang Mi badmouthed. She makes a face and implies that it was him. He huffs in reply and takes off his shirt. Jang Mi is a little uncomfortable with shirtless-Ki Tae. Not that he notices since he’s flopped back to lay in his beach chair. What a time to not be paying attention! Jang Mi moans about having to be stuck in the middle of these two!

Jang Mi frowns at Ki Tae and mentions that gift Ki Tae’s supposed to be giving Se Ah. Ki Tae is clueless. Se Ah smiles as Jang Mi says that she doesn’t know what it is, but why doesn't he give it to her already? Ki Tae has figured it out. He sighs, annoyed. Jang Mi mutters at him about being a cheapskate. He clears his throat.

Yeo Reum arrives, declaring the weather amazing! He peels off his shirt and sexy music starts to play. And dang, that boy is ripped! Ki Tae looks at him, shocked. Yeo Reum passes his shirt to a giggling Jang Mi. Ki Tae looks down at his own chest as Jang Mi is moon-eyed and puts his shirt back on, complaining that it’s cold. Heheh.

Se Ah smiles at all that and asks Ki Tae to put some body oil on her. Ki Tae is clueless as he agrees to do it. Jang Mi is sort of frowning watching him do it, like she can’t believe he’s actually going to rub it on Se Ah’s back. Ki Tae looks completely bored, but Jang Mi doesn't see that. She’s annoyed. She holds up her legs and asks Yeo Reum to put some on her. Heh! Because those are exactly the same. Ki Tae doesn’t miss her request.

Yeo Reum laughs and suggests they put it on later. He adds that Ki Tae and Se Ah seem like they're trying to set the mood so they should leave the pair alone. Jang Mi is happy to go along with that idea. Ki Tae isn’t happy with that idea, of Jang Mi and Yeo Reum going somewhere else and making a mood of their own. He yells after Jang Mi, asking where she’s going and that there are eyes watching them! Not any spying for Mom, though. Jang Mi and Yeo Reum ignore him.

But they’re intercepted by Hoon Dong – who looks absolutely ridiculous wearing a yellow hoodie and matching inner tube. His trunks don’t match. He’s also sporting huge sunglasses with black lenses. Hoon Dong yells at Yeo Reum to stop and hold his place! Love that idiom! Not ‘stop right there!’ but ‘hold your place!’ He asks if Yeo Reum trying to steal Jang Mi again. Jang Mi sighs, annoyed. Hoon Dong rips off his sunglasses and dramatically tells Yeo Reum that he’s watching them with both eyes. And his face is cracking me up!

Se Ah yells at Jang Mi and Yeo Reum to ‘go play.’ Like they were a pair of children. They won't be able to go far anyway. Yeo Reum likes that idea. He picks up a kicking Jang Mi, who is also laughing, and takes her over to the water. Ki Tae watches them, wanting it to be him, rather than Yeo Reum. Hoon Dong’s still playing hall monitor. Yeo Reum throws Jang Mi into the water, laughing. Ki Tae watches, miserable. Jang Mi yells that he just got her only clothes wet! Ki Tae mutters, “good going.” I can’t tell if he’s talking to himself or Yeo Reum.

Hoon Dong joins in the fun. It’s hysterical watching Yeo Reum use Hoon Dong’s inner tube to dunk him. Ki Tae is getting more bummed. Hoon Dong yells at Ki Tae to help him as they splash him. Ki Tae mutters to Se Ah that they’re acting like a bunch of little kids, like he’s above all that. He groans, muttering that they keep bugging him – like he doesn’t want to go – but then he goes and gets in the water. He immediately wants to get out because it’s cold. Yeo Reum walks up and asks Se Ah what she’s doing, since they’ve come so far by the sea. They have to play. Then he picks up Se Ah and throws her in the water, too.

Really fun watching them play in the water. I notice that Ki Tae is the only one that Jang Mi wrapped her arm around and tried to dunk… Hoon Dong gets dunked the most.

Hyun Hee slowly leaves the pharmacy. She does not look happy. With that music playing and the look on her face, I’m wondering if she’s knocked up. She calls Jang Mi. Jang Mi hedges when Hyun Hee asks to get together but Hyun Hee pulls a guilt trip so Jang Mi tells her where they are. And the guys are making a sand castle. I love it!

Ki Tae gives Aunt a call. She declares that he’s turned the entire house upside down. Halmeoni is really upset. Switch to the living room. Halmeoni is dressing down both Mom and Dad. She wants to know why there is already talk of stopping the wedding. Mom says that Jang Mi’s has a problem with Ki Tae once having a fiancée. Not true. Just that he’s still hanging out with the fiancée. Nice twisting things, Mom. Halmeoni is surprised since they didn't seem like that kind of people.

Mom declares that in any case, since this happened, Ki Tae's wedding got called off for the second time. She looks at Dad and says that it’s a good thing for him, at least. Dad’s surprised by that comment. Halmeoni wants to know what Mom means. Mom says that Dad had hopes for Kang Se Ah. To be more exact, her father's connections. Way to stick it to your husband. Dad starts to protest that he didn't really say it that way. Halmeoni tsks at him and says that he shouldn't be using his son for his benefit. Dad agrees that the happiness of those directly involved is what's most important. Mom looks at him with that one. Her impassive face says, “Really? You’re going to say that? Really?”

Mom asks what they should do. The ones directly involved in this matter don't want the marriage. Mom declares that Jang Mi was the one who put an end to this. Again, Halmeoni is surprised. Mom says that Jang Mi was trying on the wedding dress, when all of a sudden, in front of her and Oma’s eyes, Jang Mi ran away in a car with someone other than Ki Tae. Mom, of course, has no idea who was driving the car. Wow, Mom is shifting blame again. No mention of how she jabbed and jabbed at Jang Mi until Jang Mi broke. It was just all of a sudden, out of no where. Mom supposes that Jang Mi has someone else who she wants to be with.

Aunt comes up, saying that she think she knows the person who is with Jang Mi. She has her phone. She shows Dad, who starts to laugh. He says that it seems they just needed a break. Halmeoni breaks out into a big smile and claps her hands, rejoicing. She says that the pair aren't the type to separate so easily! Mom is looking warily at the phone; she hasn’t seen the picture yet. Aunt reluctantly shows Mom the picture: a smiling Ki Tae and Jang Mi together at the beach after playing in the water. Mom just stares at it, not believing, as Aunt says that their Madam Shin (Mom) has declared victory a little too early. Mom closes her eyes. You can almost hear her say, “Oh, crap!”

Jang Mi is sitting, curling her eyelashes, as Ki Tae is snapping selfies. She wants to know why he’s been taking so many pictures. He replies that it’s to show ‘them’ that they're doing well. Jang Mi can’t believe he sent out pictures when she looks like this! Ki Tae asks if she has any idea how much the elders will be worried. Jang Mi whines and starts hitting him for keeping the lie going. Hoon Dong walks up and asks what lie she’s talking about. As one, Jang Mi and Ki Tae yell at him that he doesn't need to know! Yeo Reum gives Hoon Dong a friendly hug as he sighs about his pitiful CEO.

Chicken Shack. Oma is drinking. Appa sits at her table. He basically says ‘I told you so.’ ‘There’s no free ride.’ ‘Having a broken engagement is no big deal.’ He asks if Oma’s upset because she thinks Jang Mi is inferior to the rich family's daughter. Oma just shakes her head, so he tells her to text him. Mom replies (verbally) that she regrets what she said. She sighs and drinks again. Dad gives her an ‘Aigoo’ and supposes that Oma give up the doctor son-in-law even if she dies. Love that turn of phrase.

Appa tells Oma to look at the cell phone first. Oma doesn’t want to, but Appa shows her the picture Ki Tae sent. Oma mutters that Jang Mi is a brat for making her worry and wait and see when she gets home. Appa notices that Oma’s hoping she doesn’t come home for a few days.

Group drinking from the opening. Hyun Hee isn’t there yet. Jang Mi’s not there either. Everyone – including Se Ah – is drinking out of the cups. It’s still a lot of liquor they’ve drunk. Hoon Dong declares that day-drinking is the best. Jang Mi walks up – in different clothes – and frustratedly sighs, shaking her head with frustration (just not tossling her hair) because they are just sitting there drinking. She pleads with the group for them to just go home. Hoon Dong asks if she wants them to drink and drive? Jang Mi responds that he should get a room somewhere then. Ki Tae answers that this is the busy season. Rooms just aren’t available. Jang Mi looks at him and asks if they’re just going to sleep there together. Ki Tae just answers by raising his eyebrow as he chews the huge bite in his mouth.

Jang Mi asks them if she’s the only one who thinks that it's weird. Hoon Dong says that her and Ki Tae marrying is weird. It's weirder that she ran away to the beach with Yeo Reum when she’s marrying Ki Tae. The before events were so weird that he doesn't know what's weird anymore. Se Ah and Yeo Reum just silently chuckle at Hoon Dong’s confusion. And Jang Mi’s frustration. Se Ah tells her to come sit and drink. They can’t enjoy a drink like this in Seoul. Ki Tae waves at her to join. Jang Mi sighs and gives in.

Se Ah proposes that they play a game. She’s smiling. What is she plotting? Truth or drink. Of course. Hoon Dong does a little dance in his seat as he says that this reminds him of his college days! Se Ah mixes two different beers in one cup (the one she was holding in the opening). Either they have to answer honestly or they have to drink. Hoon Dong spins the bottle. It stops on Ki Tae. He grumbles about the game being childish. Se Ah smiles. Yeo Reum asks Ki Tae how far he went with Se Ah when they were together. What?! I shake my head. He chuckles at how scandalous he is. Se Ah watches to see what he says. Jang Mi doesn’t like the question, but Hoon Dong does. Ki Tae clears his throat and drinks. At least he's a gentleman. Or he doesn't want Jang Mi to hear that. Se Ah can’t believe that he didn’t answer and Hoon Dong calls him a Byun Gang Swoi ("Beastly Man").

Ki Tae spins and it stops on Yeo Reum, who groans. Ki Tae is pleased that it landed on Yeo Reum. He asks Yeo Reum how many women he’s made cry. Still trying to show Jang Mi that Yeo Reum’s a player so she shouldn’t like him. Yeo Reum smiles and pretends to think. Jang Mi isn’t happy with this question either. When Yeo Reum sees her face, he gets serious. He laughs and asks who said he made anyone cry. And he drinks. Hoon Dong isn’t happy with that answer and grumpily tells Yeo Reum to go to hell! (in English, no less). He adds that he curses Yeo Reum, hates Yeo Reum! Boy! Isn’t spin the bottle fun?!

Yeo Reum spins. Hoon Dong’s in the background, slapping his legs, chanting, “Spin it! Spin it!” He really is getting into this. Like in college. It stops on Se Ah. Hoon Dong asks the question: Has Se Ah ever had anyone in her heart? She sighs and looks like she’s going to drink. Then she answers that Ki Tae's fingertips are still in her heart. Hoon Dong is shocked, gasping “Daebak!” (Awesome!) and covering his mouth in shock. Yeo Reum laughs. Jang Mi looks at Ki Tae. He looks back and then makes an embarrassed face at Se Ah, telling her to shut up. She smiles at tormenting him and declares that her breasts are Ki Tae's work. (Heart and breast are the same word in Korean.) Jang Mi is a little scandalized as everyone else laughs. And there I thought she was actually being honest with her feelings toward Ki Tae. Hoon Dong chants, “Show me! Show me! Show me!” earning slaps from everyone.

Bottle spin. It ends on Hoon Dong. No one has a question for him. Burned! Jang Mi spins again and it ends up on Ki Tae again. Jang Mi mutters, asking why it isn’t her turn yet?! Yeo Reum asks the important question, even though I can’t believe he asked it! Yeo Reum asks his hyung if Ki Tae really likes Jang Mi. Long Pause. All eyes are on Ki Tae. And I am nervous! After the long pause, Ki Tae says, “Yes.” I shrieked a little. I never thought he would admit it like that! And I'm wearing a big grin. Everyone is shocked by the answer. Se Ah’s not smiling anymore. Jang Mi looks at Ki Tae and he’s looking back, with a face that says that he means it.

Jang Mi thinks: “What is this. Why is my heart pounding?” Why *is* your heart pounding?! Ki Tae’s just sitting there, looking at her. Not nervous at all. Eee! She jumps up and yells at Ki Tae for lying, because this is the truth game! Even though we know that this is totally the truth. He just gives her a face that says, “what are you going to do about it?” Jang Mi points the bottle in her direction without spinning it and declares that she will reveal the truth. Ki Tae laughs at how she’s acting. Se Ah is just watching him, jealous.

Jang Mi declares that she and Ki Tae are not really marrying for real. She sits back down and Ki Tae says her name in a tone that says that she went too far. Yeo Reum claps. Hoon Dong wants to know what Jang Mi’s saying. Jang Mi explains that because Ki Tae doesn't want to get married, he’s putting on a show with her to make his family give up. Ki Tae starts to say something in reply but Yeo Reum declares that he feels relieved. He gets up and moves to sit next to Jang Mi, asking that it’s okay now, right? Ki Tae frowns at that.

Hoon Dong is still in shock. He can’t believe what Ki Tae did. He stands up and starts yelling at Ki Tae. Does Ki Tae know how painful every night was for him?! Does Ki Tae know how many times he couldn't sleep and stayed wide awake till dawn!? Ki Tae tells him to take a drink. Hoon Dong screams that Ki Tae should drink it! Does Ki Tae know how hard it was for him to give up his feeling for Jang Mi? DOES KI TAE KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS FOR HIM TO LET KI TAE HAVE JOO JANG MI?!! Ki Tae tells everyone to drink. Hoon Dong realizes that he was the only one who didn’t know. He starts to throw a little fit and Jang Mi yells at him to shut up. They get it!

Suddenly, Hyun Hee is there. She says that she also didn't know. Hoon Dong asks how Hyun Hee knew to come. Jang Mi says that she called Hyun Hee so that he wouldn’t be lonely. Hyun Hee asks if it’s really true. Was Unni getting married all a lie? Another guilt trip from Hyun Hee. Which is why I hate her. She is so manipulative. Hyun Hee grabs Hyun Hee’s suitcase and brings her over to the table. He tells her to sit and they’ll drink together as those who have been fooled by their close friends. She doesn’t drink it. She is pregnant.

Yeo Reum gets up and motions for Jang Mi to follow him. Ki Tae watches, not happy. When they’re alone, Jang Mi remarks that it’s ironic. Somehow everyone is there. Yeo Reum suggests that the ‘all together’ part ends there and they be alone from this point. Jang Mi is taken a little aback. Not quite the response that Yeo Reum was looking for. And there’s Ki Tae calling Jang Mi's name, looking for her. But he was lying about liking her, right. They run off and hide.

Se Ah follows Ki Tae. And from where she was standing, she probably saw the hiding Jang Mi and Yeo Reum. She asks Ki Tae what he’s doing all alone? He plays it off like he’s just getting some air. She calls him on it, how he’s really looking for Jang Mi and Yeo Reum. She asks him why he’s so concerned about those two? There aren't any eyes watching anymore. Ki Tae sighs, looking down. She tells him that he’s really being strange. The Gong Ki Tae that likes to be at home alone. A vacation that never happened before. And now, so often. What made him this way? Jang Mi’s really listening now and Yeo Reum’s not excited for Ki Tae’s answer.

Se Ah declares that it's a Truth or Dare game and tells Ki Tae to answer. Yeo Reum looks at Jang Mi, to see what her reaction is. She’s listening. Ki Tae doesn’t answer. Instead he turns it back on Se Ah. Isn't she the strange one? There's no reason for her to follow along. Se Ah asks why there can’t be a reason. She steps closer to him and tells him that it’s obvious. Yeah, but he doesn’t want to look at it. She tells that she has a pension (villa) nearby. He looks at her like he can’t believe she’s asking again. She says that she’ll stop threatening him. This is being on his side? Still blackmailing him? She says that in return, she’ll ask a favor.

Ki Tae sighs and asks Se Ah if she’s serious. She says that she is. She want a child… Jang Mi can’t believe that the present she wants from Ki Tae. She starts to say something out loud, but Yeo Reum covers her mouth before they’re spotted. Ki Tae looks, though. Ki Tae asks if Se Ah heard something. She says that she didn’t but he’s positive he heard something. He starts to walk away but Se Ah grabs him and pulls him into a kiss. Ki Tae’s eyes are wide open with surprise.

Jang Mi sees the kiss and her heart sinks. She asks herself why she feels like this? Did her emotions get too invested into this stupid fraud? Jang Mi gets up to run away but falls, yelping as she does. That’s the end of Se Ah and Ki Tae’s kiss. Ki Tae goes in the direction of the yelp and finds Jang Mi lying on the ground. He shoves Yeo Reum aside and asks her if she’s okay. She’s got a big gash on her leg that will probably need stitches. Luckily she knows a skilled plastic surgeon. Two in fact. Se Ah arrives.

Jang Mi apologizes for interrupting. Ki Tae, concerned that she’s hurting, declares that they need to stitch her leg up. Jang Mi waves him off, saying that she’ll bandage it and she should go about his business. Se Ah tells her that she should listen. Her beautiful leg might scar. Almost desperately, Ki Tae says that there's a place we can go. Yeo Reum squats down to give Jang Mi a piggyback ride. Ki Tae doesn’t want that. Jang Mi tries to walk, but can’t. Yeo Reum tells her to get on. Jang Mi sighs and almost reluctantly does. Hmm… Could Jang Mi’s feelings be changing? Yeo Reum easily stands up and walks off with her. He’s so… stud muffin. Se Ah asks if they’re going there. Like it’s nothing. How can she just turn her emotions off like that? Ki Tae says that they are.

They arrive at a clinic. Somehow, along the way, someone wrapped up Jang Mi’s leg. But it’s still bleeding a lot so it’s soaked through the bandage. Ki Tae yells inside, asking if anyone’s there. Yeo Reum says that they need to go to the ER. As they’re walking away from the clinic, a woman carrying a child recognizes Ki Tae. It takes a second but he recognizes Go Moo's mother! Apparently Se Ah knows her too. Se Ah asks about Go Moo growing up well and woman shows the child she’s carrying as proof that she is. They happily smile at Go Moo and Ki Tae gently brushes the hair away from her face.

Flashback to 3 years ago. Ki Tae and Se Ah are working at the clinic. They’re helping out children, especially those with cleft pallets. Go Moo’s mom arrives but doesn’t want to let them see. She looks ashamed at the condition of her baby. Ki Tae gently tells her that it's not her fault. Woman says that she didn't have enough money for surgery and people kept asking what she did when she was pregnant to cause that. Back to present where woman says that she used to hide in her house but after listening to Ki Tae really comforted her and cheered her up.

Go Moo’s Mom asks why they’re there. Se Ah says that they were on vacation but someone got hurt. GMM clucks at them for not saying something sooner. She gets them inside the clinic. Ki Tae sews up Jang Mi’s leg. She keeps looking at him as he works. GMM remarks how Ki Tae and Se Ah look like a match made in Heaven. Do they have children yet? Uncomfortable shifting out of Ki Tae and Se Ah. Ki Tae starts to awkwardly answer when GMM says that years ago, they were getting married. They are married, right? GMM tells them to hurry up and have one. Se Ah smiles and says that they’re currently trying. Yeo Reum can’t believe Se Ah’s boldness.

Ki Tae changes the subject. He’s still working on Jang Mi’s leg. He tells her that when Go Moo grows, she'll need surgery for her nose so GMM should come by his hospital so they can treat the scar on her lip. GMM is very grateful. Ki Tae smiles and tells her not to mention it. He genuinely means it. And I wonder why he doesn’t let this side out more often. Probably because he has to protect himself from his lovely mother. And Se Ah, who is just like her.

Boys are in the bathroom. I can’t believe that they are having this conversation. After glancing down, Yeo Reum says that he thought Ki Tae were just an egoist but seems he can be giving, too. I am embarrassed even typing it.

Se Ah is finishing dressing Jang Mi’s leg. She takes the opportunity to talk about how unfair it is that only married couples can have children. They call her selfish, but the people that are really selfish are the people who marry. Se Ah declares that she doesn't want to have a child under the restrictive family umbrella. She wants to raise her child in an open world. Jang Mi says that she can see what Se Ah’s saying but she doesn’t quite agree with it. Se Ah says that she doesn’t expect Jang Mi to get it. She says that only Ki Tae understands. Softly, Jang Mi tells Se Ah that she’s right. They are very similar. She sounds almost sad. Doesn’t she know that opposites attract?

The boys come back and Ki Tae asks what they were talking about. Se Ah say that Jang Mi's thinking of plastic surgery. Jang Mi is shocked at that. Smiling, because he knows Se Ah was kidding, he asks what Se Ah said. She says that they should work on her nasal tip. Ki Tae thinks they should do some dorsum augmentation as well. Se Ah asks what type of tip plasty they should use which leads to Ki Tae fingering a frowning Jang Mi’s face. Jang Mi says that she has no idea what they’re saying but she feels insulted. She punches Ki Tae in the arm. Yeo Reum says that he’s insulted, too.

Se Ah laughs and asks Ki Tae if he wants to go and get the car. Ki Tae wonders why and Se Ah says that Yeo Reum will probably have a hard time piggy backing Jang Mi all the way. Yeo Reum immediately says that he’s fine. And with all those muscles, I don’t doubt it. Jang Mi protests that she’s fine and doesn’t need a piggyback. Seeing that – the potential for another piggyback – Ki Tae agrees to go get the car. He tells Jang Mi to wait for him.

After he leaves, Se Ah asks Jang Mi and Yeo Reum whether they want to be alone. Yeo Reum eagerly agrees that they do. Jang Mi isn’t so enthusiastic. Se Ah says that she’ll help them. Unsure looks from Jang Mi and Yeo Reum (because of Jang Mi’s face).

Hyun Hee helps a very drunk Hoon Dong up to a room. He’s really huggy. She shoves him off of her and says they should talk. Because when someone’s drunk is the best time to tell them that you’re pregnant. Gosh, she’s manipulative. Hoon Dong moans that it’s starting again. Oppa, what's our relationship? Oppa, what am I to you? He tells her to just go with the flow. Why do they have to put relationships into words? Hyun Hee gives a protest Oppa. Hoon Dong sighs and lies on the floor, telling her to tell him. Hyun Hee slaps the floor and tells him to sit up and seriously listen to her. A half-asleep Hoon Dong says that he’s very serious. Hyun Hee isn’t happy.

Ki Tae arrives with the car, only to find Se Ah. She tells him that the other two left. She’s got a sweet smile on her face. Just like Mom when she’s plotting. Ki Tae is uncomfortable.

Yeo Reum and Jang Mi arrive at what is probably Se Ah’s pension. Yeo Reum marvels at how big it is. Phone rings. Ki Tae calling. Jang Mi hesitates answering. On his end, Ki Tae is nervously brushing down his hair and fanning himself because of the heat. Se Ah asks why Ki Tae doesn’t just leave Jang Mi alone. She says that it's wasteful to spend a night alone on a vacation when she has a man like Yeo Reum by her side. Ki Tae hangs up the unanswered phone and protests that that’s the problem. She's with a guy like Han Yeo Reum! Se Ah asks why he’s being for nosy. He’s not someone who overreacts about other people's business.

Ki Tae realizes that he’s acting jealous, so he calms his voice and says that it’s because Jang Mi is so clumsy. Se Ah should think of it as volunteer service, like Ki Tae’s Jang Mi’s older brother. Ew. Se Ah laughs at him. Ki Tae doesn’t try calling again but uses his app to see where she is. He is not happy. He is freak-out not happy. He quickly gets in his car and drives to where Jang Mi is. Once he’s there, he goes inside and starts looking for her. I’m getting nervous again.

Ki Tae looks at his phone, wondering where she is. He tries calling. He hears the ring and the phone is sitting on an empty bed. He looks at it, as if he can’t believe he’s not there. Se Ah enters the room and shuts the door behind her. She means to get her baby now. He realizes he’s been set up. She smiles.

Jang Mi and Yeo Reum are sitting on a boat. Jang Mi doesn’t look happy. She’s not sure she did the right thing. Yeo Reum asks if Jang Mi is regretting leave Ki Tae and Se Ah alone. She says that it’s not that. She says that since she’s old-fashioned, she doesn't understand. Even though Ki Tae’s not on board with the idea either. This is all Se Ah. Jang Mi supposes that there must be a world that only those two know. The people she thought they were, it looks like that's not all there is to them. Yeo Reum replies that a man-woman relationship shouldn't be judged by one standard. Jang Mi says that the Ki Tae who is with Se Ah isn't the Ki Tae she knows. He's someone different. Which one is the real Gong Ki Tae? Yeo Reum asks Jang Mi what's real to her. Is it really him? Uncomfortable smiling from Jang Mi. Yeo Reum leans in to kiss her.

Ki Tae isn’t happy with Se Ah. She slowly starts walking toward him, saying that it’s just a night on vacation. It’s not a big deal. It’ll be like small accident that anyone could have. Nothing will change. When he goes back, he can live like nothing happened. Is she really that deluded? He wouldn’t be able to do that and Mom wouldn’t let him do that, once she found out. And Mom would find out. Or is that what Se Ah is maybe hoping for? Mom having the ammo to make Ki Tae marry her? They know her parents socially. He asks her why she’s like this. If she wants a child, it doesn't really have to be him. She stoically asks if he’s really that stupid. He doesn’t see why it has to be him? Ki Tae doesn’t answer. Is it maybe dawning on you that you’re not just friends?

Back on the boat, Yeo Reum is kissing Jang Mi. Her eyes flutter open but she tries to keep kissing him. He reaches over to pull her closer and she cringes away from his hand. She pushes him away. They look at each other, shocked. Jang Mi doesn’t know what’s happening. She thinks a moment and says that it’s Hyun Hee. She’s tells herself (and Yeo Reum) that it’s because she's so worried because Hyun Hee’s alone with Hoon Dong. Who has probably passed out by now. Yeo Reum points out that Jang Mi was trying to match them together. Jang Mi answers that leaving them together alone at night is dangerous. Yeo Reum agrees to accept that excuse.

As Yeo Reum walks off the boat, Jang Mi slumps back down to where she was sitting. She thinks about Ki Tae saying that he likes her, Se Ah kissing Ki Tae and her reaction to kissing Yeo Reum. She closes her eyes and shakes her head. She can’t believe it’s bothering her. Yeo Reum comes back and asks why she’s not coming. She goes.

Back at the hotel, Ki Tae softly voices what Se Ah’s not saying, that she still loves him. She reaches up, puts her arms around his neck and pulls him close. He closes his eyes. They almost kiss, but Jang Mi’s phone starts ringing. It’s Hyun Hee. She sighs as it goes to voicemail. Hoon Dong is out. She pulls the positive pregnancy test out of her purse and sadly holds it. Like you weren’t looking to get knocked up.

Se Ah takes Jang Mi’s phone out of Ki Tae’s hand, turns it off and throws it on the bed.

♫ For a long time, I only cried. ♫
♫ Today, too, I am longing for you. ♫
♫ During that time, it was hard. ♫
♫ Comforting me while looking at me, ♫
♫ that word, that word... ♫

She starts to unsnap her shirt. Ki Tae swallows.

♫ For a long time, you, after being lost, ♫
♫ opening my eyes, I could only see your back. ♫

He stops her hands. He shakes his head.

♫ Is this maybe a dream? ♫
♫ Or am I still living in the days when I used to see you often? ♫

Se Ah asks if it’s because of Jang Mi. He doesn’t say anything.

♫ Tell me that you love me ♫
♫ If you are like me, ♫
♫ Looking, looking, looking again at you. ♫

Ki Tae pats her arm, which is a yes. He grabs the phone and leaves.

♫ That not everything can happen. ♫
♫ Even though I know, ♫
♫ I am still searching for you like a fool. ♫

Se Ah can barely snap up her shirt.

♫ Lovingly, if I call your name. ♫
♫ Like that time, could we meet again? ♫

She starts to weep and covers her face with her hand. And even though she’s been totally manipulative, I feel bad for her.

Jang Mi and Yeo Reum arrive outside Hyun Hee’s door. She softly calls Hyun Hee’s name but Hyun Hee is not in the room. Only the passed out Hoon Dong. Jang Mi checks in the bathroom and finds the pregnancy test. She feels terrible.

Yeo Reum’s waiting outside. Ki Tae walks up and Yeo Reum asks if he’s there already. Yeo Reum laughs and says “That ended quickly.” Ki Tae doesn’t respond to that but asks why Yeo Reum is alone. Did he just have a quickie because he was in poor condition today? My subs translate that as “Did Yeo Reum only stick to plain fare since he was in bad form tonight?” Again, I love the wording. Yeo Reum makes a “whatever, never” face as an answer.

A stunned Jang Mi exits the lodge and spots Ki Tae. She hopefully asks if he’s seen Hyun Hee. It’s obvious she’s worried as she says that Hoon Dong is alone, passed out and sleeping on the floor. Yuck, Jang Mi’s gripping the pregnancy test in her hand. I doubt it’s been washed. Ki Tae notices the test and asks if it’s Hyun Hee’s. Jang Mi hides it and unconvincingly says that it’s not. Ki Tae makes a face like he wants to punch Hoon Dong and asks if it’s Hoon Dong’s. He stares at her. Yeo Reum winces and covers his face.

Jang Mi looks at Ki Tae for a long moment and then asks what she should do. Ki Tae remembers that Hyun Hee called Jang Mi’s phone. Hyun Hee’s text is as follows:
I don't know where I should be. I don’t have a place to go back to. It seems I'm in everyone’s way here. Sorry. Don't look for me.

This girl! I understand she’s knocked up and that’s really bad. I still can't feel sorry for her manipulative text. It’s like a suicide note by someone who wants to be rescued. Plus, she knows Jang Mi will immediately take responsibility for the whole thing and for making Hyun Hee happy.

Jang Mi takes the bait. Jang Mi’s almost crying as she wonders where Hyun Hee went alone at this late hour. Jang Mi tries calling but Hyun Hee has left her phone. Ki Tae doesn’t panic at all. He tells Jang Mi to calm down. It will be all right. They need to wake Hoon Dong. Yeo Reum says they should go searching first. He tells Ki Tae to try waking Hoon Dong up, grabs Jang Mi’s hand and they hurry off together. Even though Jang Mi is limping, she’s desperately calling Hyun Hee’s name and looking for her.

Ki Tae picks up Hyun Hee’s phone. It’s unlocked. He discovers that she’s done a search for Chunsu Temple and called to book herself a room. Ki Tae laughs at how obvious Hyun Hee is. He mutters about how Hyun Hee said not to look for her but then left a bunch of clues.

Jang Mi’s limp is getting worse as she searches. Ki Tae drives up in his car and tells them to get in. He knows where she is. Jang Mi asks how and Ki Tae replies that he used his brain instead of just dumbly running around. They take off for the Temple.

At the Temple, people are praying. The drama subtitles what the monk is saying but I don’t speak Korean, so I have no idea.

Ki Tae ends up getting lost in the woods, heading for the temple. The end up going down a dead end road and getting stuck in the mud. Ki Tae and Yeo Reum snipe back and forth and Jang Mi yells at him. Jang Mi gets out of the car and starts to try and push. Yeo Reum gets out to help. They get splattered with mud and the car is still stuck. Ki Tae gets out and says that they should call a tow truck.

Jang Mi’s still fretting about Jang Mi. Ki Tae notices the mud but goes to call that tow truck. Yeo Reum tells Jang Mi that Hyun Hee will be safe. As Ki Tae calls the tow truck, Yeo Reum starts to wipe the mud off of Jang Mi. He’s jealous even though he doesn’t need to be. Yeo Reum puts his hands on Jang Mi’s shoulders and gives her a ‘it’s okay’ look. Jang Mi's not so sure.

Ki Tae hangs up the phone and says that it will take about an hour. Did he talk at all during that call? Ki Tae tells Yeo Reum to go and get Hoon Dong. When Yeo Reum hesitates, Ki Tae snaps that Hyun Hee isn’t waiting for them and without Hoon Dong there, there’s not really any point. Yeo Reum agrees to go. He tells Jang Mi to rest. He’ll be back. She tells him thank you. You should have hugged her. Yeo Reum takes off running, but not before he glances back at Jang Mi and Ki Tae.

Jang Mi goes and sits. Ki Tae tries to sit by her and she moves. He moves, she moves. He moves, she moves. He moves, she stands up and walks away. He doesn’t know how to do this, go after a girl that he likes. Heh. He tells Jang Mi that she looks exhausted. She should get some sleep in the car. She doesn’t respond. He tells her he wants to look at her leg and sits down next to her. On the good leg side, but okay. She tells him to leave her alone. He asks why she’s mad at him. He also suffered.

That gets Jang Mi's attention. She says that this is all Ki Tae’s fault. If she had picked up Hyun Hee’s call, Hyun Hee wouldn't have disappeared. He points out that she’s the one who left the phone at the pension. She responds that she learned about location tracking from him! She mutters that she’s been through so much trouble because of Ki Tae. A 'not jealous' Ki Tae laughs. Ki Tae mutters that she really wanted to sleep with Yeo Reum, hunh. This ticks her off even more. She declares that he’s right. She wanted sex! She was so boy-crazy that she didn't even see what happened to Hyun Hee, even when the girl was right next to her!

Jang Mi starts to get emotional. She feels badly because Hyun Hee had something to tell her, that’s why she came. She says that if anything happens to Hyun Hee, she won’t be able to forgive herself. Ki Tae just listens. Jang Mi says that if she was her usual "nosy" self, she would have figured it out by now. What was she thinking? Hyun Hee was already upset that she wasn't spending enough time with her because she was too busy preparing for the wedding and it's not even a real marriage. What was she so focused on, like a crazy woman?

Ki Tae looks at her, because she’s talking about them now. Jang Mi says that she’s lost touch with reality, since she was living the virtual life too much. Jang Mi declares that, honestly, she’s really overwhelmed. She lost Hyun Hee while looking after Ki Tae and when she was with Yeo Reum she was thinking about Ki Tae. What's so important about him? He’s fake, but because of him, she lost all the real things. She looks at him and says that it’s all because of him!

Ki Tae doesn’t say anything. He just moves in and kisses her. At first her eyes flutter and then they close. She wonders if they’ve gone too far. If she goes back, will everything return to how they were before, as if nothing happened? And a hurt Yeo Reum has returned to see them kissing. Jang Mi wonders… Can she… Go back? And that’s another long kiss that ends an episode!

Thoughts

I can’t believe that he admitted that he likes her! I expected it to go on at least for a couple more episodes! But he admitted it. In front of everyone! And, fortunately, Jang Mi’s started to realize that she likes him back. Even though she’s in denial.

Other thoughts:
  • I am really glad that Ki Tae did not sleep with Se Ah. One baby is enough. Plus, that would screw up anything that was going to happen between him and Jang Mi.
  • Feel really bad for Se Ah. Even if she did set herself up for it, by not demanding more from Ki Tae. That seems to be a common theme, between Mom, Se Ah and Jang Mi. They don’t demand that the men in their life treat them better but settle for something less. I hope Jang Mi doesn’t do that with Ki Tae. I hope she’s learned something with all of this so she doesn’t repeat the pattern with him. Because even if he really likes her, her settling will let him do the easy way and take her for granted. I makes me think of ‘Joy Luck Club’ and how one daughter did that. Her husband ended up cheating on her, but the her that he loved had left and gotten replaced with someone else. And, at the end of the movie, they’re the only couple still together, because she got her backbone back and he really loved her with the backbone.
  • It is really scary how manipulative Mom, Se Ah and Hyun Hee are. Jang Mi seems to be the only non-manipulative one in the bunch. Do love that Mom got her manipulations shoved in her face. They better start doing something to make Mom sympathetic again, because I'm starting to not like her and before I felt bad for her.
  • I really liked the Ki Tae who worked on Mo Soo. The nice, vulnerable Ki Tae. I think that he’s still in there, but he’s had to hide because Se Ah betrayed his trust and there was no one safe enough to come out to be with. That’s what so great about Jang Mi. She’s safe. She doesn’t have a hidden agenda. She tells him when he’s being a jerk but doesn’t hold his mistakes against him.
  • Liked the truth or dare game because it got the truth out there. Including Ki Tae's feelings for Jang Mi. I think it would have taken a little longer for Jang Mi to realize what she's feeling for Ki Tae has gone beyond concern if it hadn’t have happened. I'm glad that Ki Tae took a chance and went for what he wants. Hopefully, it won't blow up in his face because Jang Mi's too afraid to acknowledge how she feels...
  • I think one of the reasons that Ki Tae likes Jang Mi is because she's a safe place. He will never have to guess what she's thinking. She will yell at him if she's mad and she's not intimidated by him either. I think he wants that, someone who not hold onto his mistakes or use them as a weapon to hurt him and someone that realizes that his heart is something to be protected and guarded, not something to be used.
  • Poor Yeo Reum. He's about to get dumped and he really likes her. I get the feeling that he's really good at playing this playboy image, but he's not a playboy. Maybe he's never actually done anything with anyone. I can actually see that, as crazy as that might sound. Kissing, yes, but not anything more than second base, because he wants that real relationship.
  • When Oma called Son-in-law Gong, Gong Ki Tae, I felt that pain. Especially since Ki Tae really likes Oma and wants her to take a good impression of him.
  • Even though we left Se Ah crying, I don't see her just giving up. That's not her nature. Heck, she's waiting 3 years for Ki Tae to wake up and take her back, she will fight for what she wants. Even if he doesn't want her back. Or does he? I really don't think so, for all the ways that she's like Mom. As much as he might care for her, she broke that love for her by disregarding his boundaries, especially with his special space. I really wonder why that apartment is so special for Ki Tae. I hope they give us that answer before the show is over.
  • I wonder what Ki Tae's relationship with Se Ah is going to be now that the cat is out of the bag. She broke the illusion and he's not wanting what she's offering. Se Ah needs someone who loves her, not just cares about her.
  • I'm surprised but Hoon Dong has grown on me. He may be shallow, but he's still loyal and he really isn't vindictive. He might give Ki Tae a hard time, but he's never intentionally mean. I wonder how he's going to react to now being a dad. Se Ah's going to see how it's *not* a little thing she's asking for. I really don't think that Hyun Hee is Hoon Dong's dream woman, but now he's stuck with her. My one consolation? Hyun Hee will have HDM for a mother-in-law. They are suited for each other. And HDM is going to *hate* that Hyun Hee trapped her son into marrying her by getting Hoon Dong drunk and then getting knocked up. I wouldn't want to start a marriage with Hoon Dong like that. Talk about wrath and HDM is so good at the back-handed compliments.
  • Still don’t have an ounce of sympathy for Hyun Hee. I liked her before I saw what a manipulative social climber she is.
  • Love Hoon Dong beating up Yeo Reum. Hysterical.
  • Man, is Yeo Reum built! Dang! And he's so tall! Dang! I just went watched a few 2 AM music videos to see if he was always that built and it doesn't look like it. All I have to say is, his hair is so much better now. I would not have thought he was good looking at all with that horrid hair. He looks so much better with the short hair.
