Marriage Not Dating Episode 11 Recap

This episode does not start with what I expected it to.

♬ Will you marry me? ♬

Episode starts with a glowing, heart-shaped sign labeled, “LOVE.” Silver balloons that spell out LOVE attached to the fish tank.

Discovered that my subs have the wrong lyrics in them. The song that’s playing is the one Jang Mi was singing in the very first episode: “Will You Marry Me?” by Lee Seung Ki. My subs have got the lyrics up from “Stop the Love Now” by Ben (BeBe Mignon), the one that plays when crazy things are happening. And *then* they put the right lyrics, which threw everything else off. I’ve adjusted accordingly. And it was really annoying trying to fix the song part...

Holy crap! Ki Tae has decorated his entire apartment with balloons and hearts. There’s some sort of balloon-shaped heart wreath that has blinking lights… a teddy bear… a trail of petals rimmed by candles, which lead up to a big glowing heart. Ki Tae purposefully steps into the petal-heart and stands there.

♬Do you want to live with me forever? ♬

And I have to stop watching for a minute out of sheer shock. It’s worse than when Jang Mi decorated the hotel room, which might be the point, to propose Jang Mi-style.

Ki Tae looks at the bouquet he’s holding and smells it. He smiles.

♬ If the two of us live ♬
♬ loving so happily, ♬

Leopard high-heeled shoes step onto the petal-trail. Got to be Jang Mi’s shoes because I can’t see Se Ah ever wearing them. Leopard print with teal in it.

♬ Have a baby that looks like me ♬

Ki Tae smiles at the wearer of the shoes. A nervous but happy smile. That isn’t one of his smooth-talker smiles but the kind like a groom makes when he sees his beautiful bride.

♬ Another that looks like you, ♬

The feet walk forward. A flash of the woman’s blue pants and sparkly blue purse.

♬ Without being sick for a thousand ten thousand years, ♬

Ki Tae is beaming. Why am I getting a bad feeling now? Is it just for show? But his face. Ki Tae looks down at the flowers, smiling. I really feel like we’re getting faked out. Freezes on Ki Tae’s face.

♬ I want to live like that ♬
♬ Honestly, I love you more than you do. ♬

[ Episode 11: Confession (Go Back) ]

Music fades suddenly. Ki Tae, Jang Mi and Halmeoni are at a coffee shop, kneeling before Halmeoni. Jang Mi punches her leg. Ki Tae shifted, too, and massaging his leg, so they must have been sitting like that for a long time. I love Korean corporal punishment.

Halmeoni puts down her cup of tea and looks at them, displeased. So it was all a lie? Jang Mi pitifully apologizes. Halmeoni can’t believe they played around with their elders. Ki Tae says that Jang Mi didn't do anything wrong. She got dragged this far forcibly because of him. Jang Mi adds that Ki Tae didn't plan for it to get this far, but somehow, the situation just got out of hand.

Halmeoni looks at both of them, surprised at what they’re saying. She asks why Jang Mi would block a precious 3rd generation’s only son's path to marriage? Jang Mi says that at first, she didn’t understand why he hated getting married so much, but having experienced it, she understands. Getting caught in between a mother and son's battle of pride, she experienced being secretly investigated, tailed and blackmailed. Ki Tae and Halmeoni look at each other. They both know what Mom is capable of. Jang Mi adds about the foolish bets.

Halmeoni doesn’t look quite to stern now. She asks if Jang Mi isn’t presumptuously meddling in someone else's family affairs? Jang Mi squirms. Ki Tae says that Jang Mi is a foolish woman who worries about other people before herself even if she gets cursed at or is beaten. Then he adds that it’s him, who used that meddling fool, who is a jerk. He just called himself a jerk. Heh. Jang Mi immediately jumps to his defense, says that Ki Tae isn't the only one using someone. She also used Ki Tae. Ki Tae sighs and shakes his head at her.

Jang Mi says that her parents were very happy after meeting Ki Tae and because of him, the relationship between them got a lot better. Halmeoni sighs, understanding. Jang Mi says that she wanted to prolong this sweet dream a little longer. She was senselessly greedy. Ki Tae looks at Jang Mi and asks her why she’s saying such things. Like he can’t believe she’s defending him and making herself look bad. Like he’s the one who should be taking the heat. Ki Tae says that everything is okay now. He’s going to go back home and tell Mom everything and end it. He looks at Halmeoni and asks if he does that, then everything will be allright, right.

Jang Mi immediately jumps in, not letting Halmeoni answer, and says, “No!” She’ll go with him and end it. Ki Tae starts to grumble at Jang Mi, saying that he said that he would take care of it and end it! Leave please! Halmeoni’s looking back and forth between them in a way that’s making me laugh. She sees what we know: they like each other. Jang Mi protests, asking how much worse it will make his relationship with Mom. It'll be better if she takes the blame for it all. Ki Tae groans at her. Halmeoni rolls her eyes and laughs at them. Because they are in-love idiots who aren’t admitting how they feel.

Halmeoni sternly asks with whose permission are they going to end it? Is she trying to do a little matchmaking? They look at her. From what Halmeoni can see, they’re still far from ending this. Ki Tae’s face looks at little hopeful while Jang Mi looks more pessimistic. Halmeoni says that even if it isn't because of Mom, the consequences of what they’ve done... They should take the responsibility in any way, shape or form. They don't need to tell Mom about it. Halmeoni tells them to do it well for once. Then she gets up and leaves. Jang Mi and Ki Tae look at each other. Jang Mi asks what Halmeoni wants them to do well? He shakes his head and says that he doesn’t know. Then the pair finally stop kneeling on their legs, with sighs of relief.

Hyun Hee is standing on the street, waiting. A car arrives with Hoon Dong in it. It’s a different car than his red one. He gets out of the car and happily greets her. He says her name, almost like he feels guilty… and then we see why. HDM is in the backseat. She has a sour look on her face as she rolls down the window. Hyun Hee smiles anyway and cheerfully bows as she greets a glaring HDM. Hoon Dong says that HDM said she would buy them something delicious. The way that he talks to Hyun Hee is killing me, like he’s cooing at a baby. She smiles widely. HDM is frowning.

They arrive. Hoon Dong goes around and opens Hyun Hee’s door, which HDM frowns about. Hyun Hee is uneasy at where they are. HDM declares that they’re here since her parents are abroad and she’s living alone with no one who can take care of her. HDM says that when her body is like that (pregnant), she should supplement her nutrition. Hyun Hee tries to say no, but HDM commands her to get out of the car.

They enter the restaurant and their table is waiting for them. Hyun Hee sees one of the waitresses and immediately hides her face. It’s an older woman, so why do I think that this is her mom and she’s lying about her parents. Hoon Dong asks her what’s wrong. She pretends to feel sick and says that the meat smell is a bit... because of the morning sickness. She apologizes for the inconvenience. Hoon Dong is surprised. She wasn’t having morning sickness before. Did it start? Is voice gets a little louder as he’s concerned: Is it serious? Is it that bad? The waitress sees them.

Waitress eagerly goes over to Hyun Hee, calls her by her name and asks why she’s there. Hyun Hee smiles awkwardly. HDM haughtily asks is this is someone Hyun Hee knows. Awkward smile from Hyun Hee. Patron yells at Waitress that the meat is burning. She tells back at him, asking if he can't you flip the meat himself? Her daughter came. Not lost by anyone. HDM looks upset. Hoon Dong just looks surprised.

HDM stands up and asks what’s going on. Did her parents come back from the cruise already? I really hate her. This is so mean. Could they have, perhaps, changed jobs in that time? Hyun Hee’s Mom asks what HDM is talking about. HDM grabs her purse and leaves. A shocked Hoon Dong politely bows to his future mother-in-law and runs after HDM. Hyun Hee apologizes and says that she’ll explain later. Then she runs after both of them, leaving a puzzled HHM behind.

Hoon Dong is whining, protesting HDM leaving. Hyun Hee calls her name, which makes her stop. Hyun Hee apologizes. She says that she was worried that HDM would be disappointed. HDM explains – and somehow I don’t really believe her, because she is shallow enough to hate Hyun Hee for being poor – that what she’s disappointed about is not HHM working as a waitress, but rather than Hyun Hee is ashamed of her parents. HDM gets in the car after yelling at Hoon Dong to leave. A confused Hoon Dong apologizes and says that he will call Hyun Hee before he obeys HDM.

Ki Tae and Jang Mi are awkwardly sitting on his couch, as far apart as possible. They nervously glance at each other, when the other isn’t looking. She asks him if everything is really over. He looks at her with a face that says that he hopes not. He answers that it probably is. He awkwardly plays with the couch cushion. She asks if this means he’s not going to bother her anymore. He answers back that he’s that who should be asking that. Why did she follow him all the way to the apartment?

Indignantly, Jang Mi says that she’s there to Yeo Reum. Han Yeo Reum. Ki Tae, pretends to resent the fact that because of that punk, he still has to see her. Yeo Reum arrives to hear Jang Mi say that even though she don't need Ki Tae, she kind of needs his house. Ki Tae mutters, like he’s annoyed, that no matter what, there is no end to this. No end! Yeo Reum kind of smiles at that. Probably thinking that they’re still in denial. He announces his return to his hyung.

Yeo Reum asks is she was there. She says that she was waiting for him. She gets up – using that overly bright voice she uses when she’s trying to sound convincing – and says that they should go out and eat dinner. Ki Tae looks like a just-kicked puppy as she asks if they’re going by themselves? What about him? Jang Mi tells him he should prepare it himself and eat. Yeo Reum says that they should make something delicious to eat at home. He has something to say to Ki Tae Hyung. Ki Tae asks what it is, but Yeo Reum wants to do it after they eat, when his mood is better.

Yeo Reum heads for the kitchen. Jang Mi follows him. Because, of course, she can’t be sitting in the living room because Ki Tae is there and she doesn’t like him, she likes Yeo Reum. Ki Tae quickly heads over to the kitchen. Jang Mi offers to boil the ramen. Ki Tae grabs it and grumbles that Yeo Reum said he would make something delicious and it is ramen again! Yeo Reum smiles and says that it isn't just ramen. He’s going to make *pasta* with ramen. Yeo Reum and Jang Mi smile at each other. Ki Tae grumbles that pasta isn't something hard to make. He didn’t say hard. He said delicious.

Ki Tae declares that he can, at least, do that much as well. Yeo Reum challenges Ki Tae to a cook off, where the loser has to grant the winner a wish. Jang Mi likes that idea and declares that she’ll be the judge! Ki Tae poo-poos the idea by asking why he has to do that? He mutters that Yeo Reum said he has something to say. Is it so Ki Tae will grant him an unreasonable request? Yeo Reum smiles and says that hyung just needs to win. He’s not afraid of losing, is he? Ki Tae replies that Yeo Reum better not change his tune after he loses. And Ki Tae wants it to be fair and square.

Jang Mi acts as judge. She declares that the time limit is 20 minutes. She tells them to greet each other. She holds up the timer and tells them to start. Ki Tae is really concentrating.

♫ When I see you, my heart pounds and my lips dry up ♫
♫ I couldn't sleep last night because of butterflies. ♫
♫ Why am I like this? My face is getting hot. ♫

Ki Tae’s cutting an onion and his eyes are killing him. Jang Mi mutters that if he does it like that, she might have to pull an all nighter! She shoves him aside and cuts his onion. But she doesn’t like Ki Tae at all. Yeo Reum doesn’t like it but he doesn’t say anything.

Ki Tae finishes his dish with one minute to go. Yeo Reum goes down to the wire. Jang Mi declares that she will judge now. She tries Yeo Reum’s first. He pushes some hair off her face as she tries is, which Ki Tae doesn’t like. Jang Mi declares that because he sautéed it and pulled it out right before she ate it, it's really delicious. It takes into consideration the person who is eating it. Jang Mi moves on to Ki Tae and it’s not as good. She tries to pick up a piece of the ramen, but it all sticks together. She tries to finish it, but has to go spit it out. Ki Tae complains that the judging is biased. Yeo Reum is declared the winner, with both Jang Mi and Yeo Reum clapping.

Yeo Reum – not gloating – asks if he can tell Ki Tae his wish now, Ki Tae hates losing so he wants to make it 2 wins out of 3. But not a game where Jang Mi judges by herself, but man-to-man! Really? You think you can beat Yeo Reum in a physical contest?

Turn to a long line of glasses filled with beer and shots of alcohol stacked on top of them. Jang Mi is setting it up. She flicks the first shot glass and like dominos, the glasses fall into the beer glasses. Yeo Reum and Ki Tae dramatically throw down their fists.

They’re playing 'Muk, Ji, Bba' (Rock, Paper, Scissors). KT: rock, YR: paper. Ki Tae has to drink. Yeo Reum has to drink. And this is really stacked in Yeo Reum’s favor because he has a greater body mass, even if he wasn’t built. Ki Tae drinks. Yeo Reum drinks. Back and forth.

♬ Stretch out your two fingers forward ♬
♬ One thumb, one index finger ♬
♬ Reach out your small fist with force ♬
♬ As if you're making a tight fist around your heart ♬
♬ Muk, Ji, Bba, ♬

Both of them are weaving now. Yeo Reum asks if Ki Tae is all right. Does he want a glass of water? Ki Tae tells him that he can drink it.

Ki Tae’s turn to drink. Jang Mi jumps up and grabs the glass, saying that Ki Tae’s going to need to go to the ER if they continue. She declares that she’s the black rose (the girl that drinks in place of the game's loser) and chugs the drink. I notice this is the second time she’s come to Ki Tae’s assistance. Ki Tae slurs and sings her name – he likes to do that when he’s drunk – and shakes his finger at her. He asks why she’s butting in. He says that she’s Joo Jang Mi. Why is she Black Jang Mi now? She slaps him and tells him that he’s so drunk. Yeo Reum can’t even open his eyes. He says that he’s gonna say his wish. Ki Tae declares that it should be 3 wins out of 5 games! Then he collapses on the floor.

Dramatic face off, like they’re fighters meeting in a ring. Yeo Reum declares that this really is the last round. Ki Tae responds that he’s not going to go easy on Yeo Reum anymore. Yeo Reum declares that no matter what happens, he has to accept the results cleanly, like a man. Ki Tae scoffs at the idea that he wouldn’t. Even though he hasn’t so far. He says that the machine will tell them exactly who's the winner and who's the loser. And judging by the bad sunset image in the background…

Karaoke! Yeo Reum goes first. And, of course, has a great voice because he’s a professional. Jang Mi looks up at him dreamily, which, of course, makes Ki Tae jealous.

♬ Saying we were both too young back then, ♬
♬ we laughed about the bygone times. ♬
♬ At your words that you were still alone, ♬
♬ Suddenly without realizing, my heart begins to ache. ♬

Ki Tae turns off the song and echoes the sound of ache, sings instead “I don't like it” (which sounds like ‘ache’). Yeo Reum asks why Ki Tae turned it off while he was singing, like Ki Tae’s being a spoil-sport. Ki Tae says that there are songs that give better grades at a karaoke than that.

Ki Tae’s turn. When he starts singing, Jang Mi gets super excited. She jumps over the table to grab Ki Tae’s arm, declaring that this is her favorite song. She starts singing and Yeo Reum rolls his eyes.

♬ When I was seeing you, ♬
♬ I would tell you I love you. ♬
♬ When I would turn around, ♬
♬I don't know why I feel sad, ♬
♬...feel sad, ♬

Ki Tae is really off on some notes but he and Jang Mi are having a blast. Yeo Reum smiles and gives up. He gets up and starts singing with them. A Jang Mi sandwich.

♬ Oh! Your eyes are watching me ♬
♬ Even if you don't say it, if needed ♬
♬ I am already preparing for our end. ♬
♬ Gong Ki Tae is rapping! ♬
♬ Before I become more sad. ♬

They return to Ki Tae’s house where Ki Tae and Jang Mi collapse onto the sofa. She tells Ki Tae that she hasn’t had this much fun in a while, thanks to him. He responds, telling her that, thanks to her, he got the most shameful grade from the karaoke machine that he’s ever received. What kind of a grade is a zero, huh? A zero. She tells him that it’s the limit of his singing skills. He waves a hand at her, insulted.

She asks how he couldn’t win even a single round? So embarrassing, really. Ki Tae softly kicks her leg. She kicks back and they kick each other. Yeo Reum walks up, bringing beers. Because they need more alcohol. Yeo Reum asks if he can say his wish now. Ki Tae agrees. She wants Ki Tae to lend him some money. He need five million won. Ki Tae is surprised and asks what he’s planning on doing with it. Yeo Reum smiles and says that needs to find a home. He looks down at his beer.

There’s a stunned paused and then Jang Mi turns to Ki Tae and accuses him of telling Yeo Reum to get out with signs. Ki Tae replies that he’s the one who lives watching for signs. Referring to the Swami. Heh. Yeo Reum smiles and says that he actually enjoys living with Ki Tae hyung. But, the three of them can't keep going around like this forever. When Jang Mi asks what he’s saying, he said that he started living there with the condition that she helps Hyung. He has to leave this house, so that she can be free, too. And Jang Mi feels bad.

Hyun Hee is calling Hoon Dong and he’s avoiding her calls, ten of them. He and Ki Tae are at Bon Café. Hoon Dong groans, tosses down his phone on the table and puts his head in his hand. He sighs. He says that his emotions got the better of him. Ki Tae asks if he’s going to run again? Like he did from Jang Mi? Hoon Dong looks at Ki Tae and says that he shouldn't, right? Ki Tae’s answer is to firmly place Hoon Dong’s phone in front of him. Hoon Dong grouses that he was about to but he just needs to think about it a little more. What’s there to think about? You were really happy even before the subject of her parents came up. You are being a dork.

Yeo Reum brings Ki Tae’s salad. Hoon Dong gives them a look. Yeo Reum awkwardly asks when Ki Tae is going to give him the five million won. Hoon Dong wants to know what the money is for. Yeo Reum replies that Ki Tae promised to help me become independent. Ki Tae asks how he can trust Yeo Reum with that much money. He needs to stop talking nonsense and leave when he can by his own ability. From the look on Hoon Dong’s face, he’s trying to help out his buddy with his boyfriend. Hoon Dong tries to poo-poo the idea of Yeo Reum leaving.

Yeo Reum replies that Ki Tae hyung likes to be alone. Yeo Reum asks Ki Tae if he doesn’t find it uncomfortable to live with him. Ki Tae replies that it's a little annoying, but he’ll try to be patient for a while. Yeo Reum tells him that he should keep a promise that he made, man-to-man. Which takes on a whole new meaning in this context. Ki Tae looks away. Hoon Dong takes that as Ki Tae feeling hurt and tells Yeo Reum that he’s being too much. How can he be like that to Ki Tae? Yeo Reum doesn’t see a problem with what he’s asking. He’s not even trying to take it from Ki Tae. He’s asking to borrow it. And he won the bet, as well. Hoon Dong sputters, frustrated, that that's not what he means. Ki Tae shakes his head. Hoon Dong grunts and then yells that Ki Tae has feelings for Yeo Reum! And I throw up both my hands with victory. Did I call it, or what? Bon Café. Everyone looking. I am laughing, too.

Both Ki Tae and Yeo Reum look around anxiously. Everyone is looking. Ki Tae looks at Hoon Dong like his friend is off in the head and asks what kind of unbelievable words are those? Hoon Dong is surprised and tries to recover by asking Why he’s trying to keep Yo Reum living with him if it’s not true. Ki Tae makes a face. Yeo Reum calls Ki Tae out. Yeo Reum declares that if he leaves, Jang Mi will no longer come to Ki Tae’s house, either. He walks off.

Hoon Dong leans in and asks if that’s who Ki Tae was talking about: Jang Mi and not Yeo Reum? Ki Tae’s face reads uncomfortable as he swallows. Hoon Dong asks if Ki Tae’s feelings for Jang Mi are sincere now. Ki Tae doesn’t answer. He plops his salad in front of Hoon Dong and walks off, leaving Hoon Dong’s mouth hanging open.

Mom is sitting on her couch with her phone in her hands. She looks like she’s been sitting there for a while. She makes a call to Oma. Oma prepares herself before answer and acts like she’s not intimidated at all. Mom says that there's something she needs to talk to Oma about, about Ki Tae and Jang Mi.

Next thing we see Mom walking through the department store. Hyun Hee and Jang Mi are working, putting their best foot forward as Manager and some other people from Corporate are walking through, evaluating things. Patron enters the store, wearing the pink diamond. It’s Trollop all right. Jang Mi recognizes it and can’t believe that she’s in the store. Here comes Mom. Jang Mi immediately gets flustered. Mom tells her she looks like someone who has seen a ghost. Mom asks if Jang Mi would have a cup of tea with her. I wonder what Mom’s up to.

Jang Mi tries to explain that she can’t because she’s working, but Mom wants to do it there since it isn't a long talk. Jang Mi protests loudly that that's even worse! Mom looks at Jang Mi like she’s crazy. Trollop asks for Jang Mi to show her a purse. Mom and Trollop see each other. Mom immediately turns to run but Trollop goads her by saying that she heard that Mom needed her ring again. Mom stops with her back to Trollop.

Trollop smiles and says that Mom’s future daughter-in-law is pretty clueless. She heard that that the young lady knows all about their relationship. How could she not have figured out that the owner of the ring is her (Trollop)? Is she not so smart? Mom had her heart set on her son's marriage, but the daughter-in-law that she finally got to meet after going through so much trouble turned out to be a shallow and materialistic girl who had her eyes set on her ring. Trollop is sure that that's making Mom quite upset. Jang Mi can’t hold her tongue any more, saying a “tokyo,” (Excuse me).

Trollop keeps going, sarcastically saying that she’s sorry that she has the real one and Mom only has the fake one. Jang Mi sweetly says, “Excuse me, customer.” Trollop continues, saying that to make up for Mom lacking her husband's affection, she was hoping that at least Mom’s son would stay beside her and protect her. Mom breathes a ragged breath and starts to walk. She stops when Jang Mi pipes up, “I'm sorry, customer, but...” It’s loud enough that it gets everyone’s attention. With a smiles, Jang Mi says, “Can you shut up?” Love her.

Mom says Jang Mi’s name in a way that says ‘stop.’ Trollop asks who Jang Mi is. Jang Mi smiles and says that she’s that clueless, dumb, and shallow materialistic girl! She’s yelling at the end. The people at Corporate look at Manager, shocked. Mom, her voice thick, tells Jang Mi to be quiet. Keep her mouth shut, please. Jang Mi’s not going to listen. She asks Trollop who she thinks she is to speak of her mother-in-law's life?! Trollop rolls her eyes. Jang Mi declares that to protect the household that Trollop tore apart and to take care of the family that Trollop hurt... Does Trollop even know how Mom’s living?! Corporate and Manager are not happy.

Hyun Hee hurries over, saying, “Unni!” to get Jang Mi to stop. Trollop smiles and says that it’s fine. She holds up her prize and gloats that if Mom wants the ring, she will give it to Mom. Mom’s been washing Dad’s underwear, doing the dishes, and taking charge of all the bothersome labor. She should probably thank Mom for that with the ring. Jang Mi yells, “This woman really, to the end!” Manager loudly says Jang Mi’s name. Mom turns around and grabs Jang Mi’s hand, telling her to stop and they should go.

Trollop declares that it's quite pitiful. If Mom’s proud of her life, then why is Mom always avoiding her? Her face is so smug. I wish Mom would haul off and punch her, but Mom won’t. Not yet. Jang Mi declares that Mom is avoiding her because she’s dirty, just in case feces water splatters off of her! Love her so much! Trollop is insulted and smacks Jang Mi hard across the face, cutting her cheek. Mom looks at Jang Mi, horrified. And if she’s not going to stick up for herself, she’s going to stick up for Jang Mi.

Trollop turns to walk off and Mom yells, “How dare you slap her!” She screams that Jang Mi is her daughter-in-law! and pounces on Trollop, grabbing her hair for all it’s worth. Yes! Go Mom! Mom’s pretty good about keeping behind Trollop but eventually Trollop turns around and grabs Mom’s hair too. Jang Mi screams that that’s her mother-in-law! Jang Mi gets into the brawl. Shoes are coming off! While crazy fun house music plays. Lots of screaming, drawing a big crowd. Trollop ends up on the ground. Mom kicks her and then Mom kneels over her and grabs her hair.

Jang Mi sits in her spot on the roof, her hair a mess. Mom’s sitting beside her, her hair also a mess, but not nearly as messy as Jang Mi’s. They are saying nothing. Jang Mi eventually asks Mom if she’s okay. Mom only nods. Jang Mi apologizes and says that she should have held it in tightly. She just got so angry... Mom starts to snicker and then to laugh. Jang Mi moans that Mom must have been really shocked... Mom starts roaring. I bet she hasn’t laughed like that in years. Keep this girl, at all costs. Mom can’t stop laughing and soon Jang Mi is also laughing.

Mom sighs and says that she really dislikes Jang Mi. That killed the mood. She really hates people like Jang Mi. Jang Mi’s the type that she hates the most in this world. Mom says that that’s how she truly felt. Jang Mi nods and looks down. Mom said that she didn't want to dirty her mouth and hands just to detach the likes of Jang Mi from her son. But in the end, because of her, Mom’s hands and mouth became dirty. That is much more powerfully descriptive that Mom saying that she didn’t want to get entangled in a mess.

Jang Mi nods and says that she knows. Mom declares they should cancel the reserved hall and take back the plans for the wedding gifts. They’ll return the mud beds as well. Jang Mi meekly agrees. Mom says that they should try starting from the beginning again. Jang Mi nods and says, “yes,” before she hears what Mom really said. Mom says that she’s thinking of going back to the beginning and embracing Jang Mi once more. Wow, that’s big for Mom. Yay for Ki Tae. Heh.

Mom laughs again and Jang Mi asks why her. Mom tells her not to get so excited. She’s just saying that she'll give it a try. Jang Mi mutters that Mom shouldn't do that... Mom declares that if she can't do it even after trying, then she'll think about tearing your hair out or something. Mom is funny. Mom says that it doesn’t seem like getting her mouth and hands dirty from time to time is too bad, after all. She fixes her hair, straightens her shirt and walks off. Jang Mi watches her go and thinks that for some reason, her heart fluttered a little bit. Mom became sincere with her and truly likes her now.

Ki Tae is meeting with Oma and Appa. Appa doesn’t look happy. Oma clarifies that they’re not cancelling the wedding, right. They’re at the house. Ki Tae says yes. Oma says that out of the blue, Mom said she wouldn't accept the dowry and wedding gifts. Ki Tae explains that Mom means that we only need Jang Mi, saying that that's plenty enough. Oma asks if Mom wants them to arrange the wedding venue again. Ki Tae declares that Mom finally realized what was truly best for him. He only needs Jang Mi, so they don't need to get a loan or put the store up for sale.

Appa sputters that he’s thankful but... Ki Tae says that she should have said this from the start. He’s sorry for making them worry. He’s really sorry. He bows in his chair. Appa declares that Ki Tae grew up under great parents. Oma moans that she thought she was finally getting away from the wretched alcohol business. It’s disappointing. Appa tells Oma to go and get the food and drinks ready. Smiling he says that he wants to have a drink with Son-in-law Gong tonight. Ki Tae tries to turn down the offer, but they won’t listen. Oma declares that she may not be able to give him a magnificent dowry and wedding gifts, but she'll make sure that Ki Tae gets all the drinks he wants!

Later, food is served. Oma tells Ki Tae to eat up and Ki Tae replies that his stomach's about to burst! Jang Mi arrives and sees Ki Tae. Shocked, she asks why he’s there. He grins at her. Oma welcomes her home. Ki Tae slur-sings her name. And I crack up because he’s drunk again. She yells at her parents for all the alcohol. Oma calls for Appa, so he leaves them to talk.

Quietly, with her annoyed face, Jang Mi asks what he’s doing. He croons that he didn't have a choice. He says that they’ve put in so much effort thus far, they can't let it all go to waste. Jang Mi asks what he said to put them in such a good mood. Ki Tae said it was just customary things. That all she needed to bring to his family was herself. I half expected him to dink her on the nose, here, since he’s talking to her like she’s super cute. Jang Mi can’t believe that just because it's not real, Ki Tae can be so "generous" with his words! He smiles and shrugs his shoulders.

Appa returns with more food. He wants to open another bottle but Jang Mi protests, saying that Ki Tae has to perform surgery the next day. He sings, waving his finger, that he doesn’t. She sings back that he does. Soon everyone’s singing. Jang Mi tries to get him up and out, but Appa tells Ki Tae to just sleep there tonight. Ki Tae is surprised. Can he really? He giggles and agrees to it. Oma sits down with more food and says that it’s no trouble at all! Ki Tae should settle in comfortably, like it’s his own place. Appa goes to find Ki Tae some comfortable clothes and Oma feeds Ki Tae some food.

Hoon Dong and Hyun Hee are at a coffee shop. Hyun Hee looks disappointed. Hoon Dong is talking to the table as he fiddles with something, saying that HDM keeps being suspicious and... It's also because it's situation where trust has been lost... Hyun Hee sighs. Hoon Dong then asks if the baby’s really his. It shows on her face that Hyun Hee can’t believe he asked that. Hoon Dong sees it and immediately tries to backtrack, saying that he believes her, it’s just HDM… Hyun Hee just looks at him with a hurt look on her face.

Hoon Dong looks down again and says that HDM is still his mother. He can't throw her away, right? No answer from Hyun Hee. Hoon Dong asks if she expects him to throw everything away and go to her in his underwear? That's not it, right? Hyun Hee answers that she’s jealous that he can't easily throw away his family. He must be happy. She stands up and tells him to come to the hospital with her. She smiles and says that if he can't throw it away, she should. Wow. She just said she was going to have an abortion. Not that I blame her for the choice. She won’t be able to raise it by herself. Even though adoption is an option, but in Korea, adoption isn’t so popular. Hoon Dong feels terrible.

Ki Tae shyly opens the door from where he’s changed his clothes. Appa, Oma and Jang Mi are all working on getting his bed ready for him. Appa tells him to come and laughs. Jang Mi stifles a laugh. Ki Tae nervously comes out, wearing a pink polo shirt and matching camo shorts. Appa declares that there’s not much difference from him in size! They sit and Oma says that it’s the first time she’s found a man wearing those clothes to be sexy. Heh. Appa laughs sarcastically. Oma asks if he wants anything else and Appa wrangles her, protesting, into the bedroom, telling Oma to let the kids sleep. Together? In one bed? Hmmm… And Jang Mi isn’t protesting right now.

After the parents are gone, Ki Tae clears his throat and sits down next to Jang Mi. Or rather, lies down, saying that he’s going to sleep now. Jang Mi immediately jumps up and tells him that it’s an old house so cockroaches roam around at night. It takes him a second to realize she said ‘cockroach.’ He jumps up, freaked out, onto the couch. She smiles and tells him to sleep well. Evil.

Oma and Appa are laying in bed, not asleep. He looks at her and says that they’re laying together after a long while. She laughs and says that they can't show son-in-law Gong that they use separate rooms. Appa tries to cuddle with Oma as she protests.

Jang Mi is not asleep either. Neither is Ki Tae, even though he’s back on the floor again, nervously looking for cockroaches. He looks over at Jang Mi’s room and it settles him. Suddenly he notices it. A cockroach, which crawls across his foot. And I thought she was just kidding. I screamed and squirmed at this, because that is so gross! Ki Tae jumps onto the couch, really freaking out. He looks at his foot, like it’s scarred now.

Jang Mi finally decides to get up. But she stops herself at the door. Internal debate when Ki Tae scares her by hurrying into her room. Freaked, he whispers that it came out, a cockroach! He begs her to let him stay in there just for a minute, until it goes away. She asks him why he’s like this? Wasn’t it him that threw a fit because he wanted to be alone! Ki Tae gets a hold of himself – he’s literally hugging his body tightly – and decides to check out her room. Which is totally fair since she’s seen his.

He asks her why it’s so sloppy. She should go through it and throw some stuff out. She tries to straighten stuff while he looks. He says that, seriously, the start to organizing is throwing stuff away. She tells him that she has to get rid of him first! Ki Tae sees a picture of her as a baby and smiles. He says that she was really ugly. She tells him to get out and he mutters that she’s so cold-hearted.

He comes across her music and tells her that her taste in music is also childish. He sits on her bed and she complains, shoving him and saying that he didn't even let her touch his things. He asks why she’s not sleeping and was hovering in front of the door. She says that it's because she’s not used to it. Ki Tae asks her if she really thought she’d be able to sleep when she has such a deadly (hot) man like him outside? He is such a butthead.

Jang Mi replies that it’s not that. She usually sleeps alone. She sits and says that since her parents go to work in the evening and spend the whole night working, and they’re in bed by the time she wakes up, when she opens her eyes in the morning, she’s alone. Even moreso, her parents were a zombie couple who didn't even talk to each other. Even though they lived together, she felt like she was living by herself. She says that this is the first time it’s had the feeling of a family all together falling asleep in one house. Interesting that for both of them, they make the other person not feel alone and like they have a family.

Jang Mi says that whatever the reason is for their whole situation is, it’s all because of him. She tells him thank you. He looks at her and goes to put his arm around her shoulder. Before he gets there, Jang Mi forcefully says he should now leave. Denied. Ki Tae pulls his arm back and clears his throat. He points at the stereo and says that he’ll go after listening to one song. When it ends, he'll go back out. She agrees.

Oma and Appa are asleep, with Appa fiercely cuddling Oma.

Mom has a new hair style. It’s cut stylishly and has highlights. She looks at herself in the mirror and thinks of the tussle with Trollop. She smiles.

Ki Tae and Jang Mi are listening to the song. He falls asleep with his head landing on her shoulder. She shoves him off, barely waking him, but he sags back onto her bed and does respond when she pokes him. She tries to pull him off the bed, but he pulls back, making her fall on top of him. He reaches up and puts an arm around her. Jang Mi feels weird. She sits up, with Ki Tae’s arm flopping on the bed.

♬ Just imagine ♬
♬ I know you want it. Stay with me ♬
♬ The way you talk always mysteriously stays near my ears ♬
♬ My face grows red (and my heart gets excited) ♬

She asks him if he knows what happened at the department store today. No response from Ki Tae. She says that Mom called her “my daughter-in-law.” Strangely, it made her heart flutter.

♬ You know but pretend you don’t, I fall in love ♬
♬Wanna take the subway ♬
♬ or walking in the rain ♬

She gently touches his hair. He twitches.

♬ Between the clouds, as if it’s slippery and slowly ♬
♬ Walking in the lane, ♬

Ki Tae wiggles and grabs her again. She’s really close to his face. She asks herself what she should do.

Yeo Reum is at the apartment, playing his guitar and singing. We get to hear piano instead of what he’s playing and singing.

Next morning, Ki Tae and Jang Mi are sleeping in her bed, holding each other. I’m just waiting to see who wakes up first. Appa clears his throat and they don’t wake up. No response. Appa clears louder and kind of wakes Jang Mi. She’s lays there looking at Ki Tae. His eyes open. They look at each other and realize they were sleeping together. Immediately they freak out and sit up. Appa is not happy.

Oma comes in and says to leave them alone. They say that these two can't help it. They said they're pulled together by fate like magnets by destiny. Oma drags Appa out, telling them to sleep some more while Ki Tae waves that nothing happened. Jang Mi gathers the comforter and pulls it closer to her, like she’s naked. Ki Tae takes a peek under the blankets and is relieved that they’re both clothed.

All four are chowing down at the kitchen table. Oma keeps feeding Ki Tae. She even feeds Appa. Smiles, lots of smiles. Jang Mi stops smiling, slams down her spoon, and stands up. Oma asks what her trouble is. She asks why they’re doing something they’ve never done before? When have they ever eaten breakfast together? She leaves the table and goes into her room, closing the door behind her. Oma and Appa are irritated, but Ki Tae is concerned, because of what she said the night before. How does he not have a hangover? In her room, Jang Mi sighs sadly.

Oma’s going to do the dishes. A broadly smiling Ki Tae declares that he’ll do it. He puts on the rubber gloves like they’re surgical gloves, making Oma laugh. I wonder if he used to help Mom with the dishes, before their falling out. Ki Tae says that he has to pay for his meal at least. He prepares like he’s about to start surgery, grabs a bowl and scrubs, periodically checking to see if it’s clean. Oma asks him if he’s proposed to Jang Mi. Ki Tae stops cleaning. Proposal? Oma says that since they’re starting over, proposal is the first step to a marriage, isn't it? Can't he officially propose to Jang Mi in a cool way? Ki Tae acts like he's considering it.

Oma sighs and says that she thinks that Jang Mi is hesitant deep down in her heart. Oma says that she’ll keep the proposal a secret so he can surprise her. She says to move Jang Mi. She pinches Ki Tae’s arm and whispers that he should give it a try. Uncomfortably, Ki Tae says he will.

Dad arrives home to Halmeoni, Aunt and Mom sitting, having tea in the living room. He’s a little agitated. Mom calmly tells him welcome home. He asks if it’s true, what happened at the department store? Halmeoni and Aunt wonder what’s going on. Without looking at him, Mom says that he’s already heard everything, so why did he come there to confirm. Dad’s not sure how to respond to that. He asks if Mom really grabbed Trollop’s hair? Halmeoni and Aunt put down their cups. So does Mom. She gets up and leaves the room. Dad follows her.

Halmeoni and Aunt wonder what’s going on. Whose hair? Halmeoni asks why Aunt is asking that. Who else does she think it is? Aunt can’t believe that Mom did that to Trollop at the department store. Halmeoni remarks that Jang Mi must have blown it up big. Aunt is amazed.

Dad hands Mom his sack. She takes it and empties it of his clothes. He complains that it had to happen in front of so many eyes... Doesn’t she know how much women gossip? Mom says nothing as she empties the sack. Dad says that it’s so unlike Mom. Why did she do something like that? He asked that question? Really? He says that he heard that child Jang Mi was there. Dad sighs and says that he knew that something like this would happen. He told her Jang Mi was a ticking time bomb. Really? When? You’re never home. And you’re a flip-flopper. Dad says that he should have split her away from Ki Tae ages ago.

Not looking up, Mom says that now his true feelings come out. Mom asks what she can do. It's too late. Mom says that she’s going to officially accept her. Dad is stunned. I don’t think he’s closed his mouth, but instead been slack-jawed, the entire conversation. Dad calls Mom ‘Yeobo’ again. I wonder what he calls Trollop. Mom says that that child will sincerely look after Ki Tae. Unlike him, she would never build a house and hurt both sides. Dad blinks and says nothing.

Ki Tae and Yeo Reum are at the apartment. Yeo Reum’s packed. He also cleaned the whole house. Ki Tae sighs and hands Yeo Reum an envelope. With a nice gold seal on it. Fancy cashier’s check! He says that Yeo Reum doesn't have to pay him back. Yeo Reum replies that even if he has to work two or three jobs, he'll pay back the debt within a year. Ki Tae tells him to just take it, since he won the bet. Yeo Reum says that the real bet starts now. Oooo. From now on, he’s going to be serious so Ki Tae should be tense (on his toes), also, if his feelings have become real. They look at each other.

Ki Tae is at work. Text from Oma, asking how the preparations for the proposal is coming. He’ll make Jang Mi feel like a female lead in a drama, right? Ki Tae replies that he understands. Oma asks for pictures. Which isn’t unreasonable, since Ki Tae likes to document their relationship. Ki Tae inhales, groaning. He exhales and pulls a drama up on his phone. I think it would be hilarious if he got hooked on dramas because of it. Ki Tae pulls up a scene from ‘Witch’s Romance.’

Drama male lead: I said we should date. Why aren't you answering me? Drama female lead: Fine. Now, even if you push me away, I won't go anywhere.

Ki Tae’s eyebrows go up in surprise. Drama man goes in for a kiss. Ki Tae lets out a nervous breath and mutters that it’s so childish. Oma wants him to do this? He puts down his phone on the table with a clunk. He goes back to his paperwork.

His client, who he didn’t realize what there, is looking at the ring on her finger as she says that love is usually childish. Ki Tae looks at her with surprise. She smiles back. He asks how long she’s been there. She says it was since before, way before. Since he was preoccupied... He apologizes. She laughs. She tells him that if he feels like has to do it, that she’s the one, he should just go for it, without stopping to think about it. She says that if he sits and thinks, someone will take her away. Woman says that that’s her philosophy. If she wants to become beautiful, she takes action right away. She don't care about what other people think.

Ki Tae clears his throat and says that he sees. But doing something shocking is a little much. Even if you get one shot, you should check the quality before getting the shot. Woman says that she came there knowing that this hospital uses a premium product. Laughing, slick-style, Ki Tae assures her that it does. Should they have a look at her face?

Big heart filled with roses and a balloon that says, “I love you.” Oh, gak. Ki Tae’s in a store, looking at the merchandise, trying to figure out what he’s going to do. He looks at some roses, picks one up and sings “Jang Mi (Rose)… Joo Jang Mi.” He smells the rose and smiles.

Jang Mi is at work, on that roof again, thinking about what Mom said. She asks Ki Tae how it will be if they become real.

Mom is at a coffee shop with Se Ah. She takes a sip of her drink and asks if Se Ah has something to tell her. Mom smiles and asks what could be so serious. Se Ah says that it’s about Ki Tae and Joo Jang Mi. If she rats on them… Shady.

Ki Tae is in his apartment now, blowing up balloons. The kind that are hard to blow up.

♬ I can't without you for even one day, ♬
♬ I don't know, I don't know where you went, ♬

He loses hold of the balloon he’s trying to blow up and groans. There are tons of cups on the table with a rose or a candle in each of them. He sags backward, popping one of the balloons.

♬ but I can't see you, ♬
♬ I can't see you, I'm looking for you baby, ♬

He looks around. Almost like he’s asking himself what he’s doing.

♫ No matter how much I call, there is no answer. ♬
♬ Tomorrow, without you there is no meaning. ♫

Flashback to when he and Jang Mi first met at the hotel.

♫ I'm missing you. Before I go crazy, hold my hand. ♫

He smiles as he thinks about it. Back to work, lighting those candles.

♫ The voice that calls into my ear. Your unforgettable presence. ♫

Bunch of helium balloons.

♫ Finding the strength so I can find you again, I call for you. ♫

Ki Tae working on the rose-petal carpet and heart.

♫ Call my name ♫
♫ Call my name ♫

Ki Tae looks in the aquarium. He tells Nemo-ya, that he loves him and throws Nemo a little kiss. LOVE on the fish tank.

♫ Call my name ♫

Final touches. Now Ki Tae’s getting dressed. He practices asking Jang Mi to marry him. Struggles. The most moving one was “Should we do it for real?” Then he adds, “The marriage.”

Se Ah did do it. I am not happy with her. She had no right. Mom asks Se Ah what she means. Did she say "fake"? Se Ah says that Ki Tae planned it to make the family give up because he didn't want to get married. Mom blinks and breathes. She says that she thought so too at first. But after watching them all this time, there’s no way they are fake. Se Ah says that she helped Ki Tae do it. She says that she asked to meet because of her guilt. Se Ah says it’s all an act and Jang Mi even has a different guy. Mom can’t believe it. Se Ah apologizes again for having to tell Mom. Mom stands up and almost falls over. Se Ah jumps up to help, but Mom waves her away and walks off. It was Se Ah in the opening clip with the leopard-print shoes. I am disappointed.

Ki Tae is on the phone, telling Jang Mi to come to his house after work. She wants to know why. He tells her that she should just come if her tells her to come. She agrees, because she has something to say to him.

Doorbell.

♬ When I see you, my heart pounds and my lips dry up ♬

Ki Tae hurrying to finish the final touches. He grabs the bouquet.

♬ I couldn’t sleep last night because of the butterflies ♬
♬ Why am I like this? My face is getting hot ♬

He yells that he left the door open and she should come in. Um, wouldn’t Jang Mi just have used the keypad? He looks at the bouquet and smiles with anticipation.

♬ My head gets dizzy, my body gets electrified ♬
♬ Your face flickers before me today ♬

Feet with slippers! It is Jang Mi, yay!

♬ I can’t take it anymore. ♬
♬ Starting from tomorrow, we will live happily together ♬

No! It’s Se Ah. Where are the shoes? Ki Tae looks up and his face falls. He blinks and swallows. Se Ah sadly looks at him. Ki Tae sputters, asking why she’s there. Se Ah actually looks a little pissed.

Jang Mi is leaving work. Yeo Reum is waiting outside for her and calls her name. Aw, come on! She stops and they look at each other. She asks him why he came without calling? He wants to eat. Jang Mi says that she has something to confess. And the look on Yeo Reum’s face says that he doesn’t want to hear what she has to say.

Se Ah coldly announces that she told Mom everything. Se Ah tells him that it’s over. Ki Tae starts to freak out. Did she really tell Mom? She nods and says sorry. It was the only way she could stop him.

Jang Mi tells Yeo Reum that the Elders think that their marriage is real. She can't deceive them anymore. He sighs and nods slightly. He asks if she’s going to do it for real because of them? Jang Mi replies that it’s not like that. There is no way it would happen for real. There’s no way Ki Tae is sincere about things. Yeo Reum sighs and asks why she keeps talking about everyone else's sincerity. She looks at him. He says that it will be okay as long as she isn’t sincere. It doesn't matter to him. Jang Mi replies, almost crying, that that’s the problem. It became real. That hits Yeo Reum hard. I bet it’s never happened to him before.

♫ For a long time I was lost. ♫

Jang Mi says that she knows she shouldn’t. She tried to fight it. But she finds herself continuing to want to stay by Ki Tae's side.

♫ You opened my eyes, but I only saw your back. ♫

She keeps thinking that it would be nice if it this marriage were real.

♫ Is this maybe a dream? ♫
♫ Is the me, who only sees you, still living? ♫

Yeo Reum asks if Ki Tae Hyung knows how she feels. Jang Mi’s eyes are wet as she says, “Not yet.”

♫ I just want you to love me. ♫
♫ Just love me. ♫

She says that she’s telling him first, because she felt she should.

♫ Tell me that you love me. ♫

He tells her that she did well. Basically, he’s saying that he’s glad she did. Yeo Reum looks down the street and it’s Mom coming. Uh oh.

♬ You also feel the same as me. Even though I pray again and again, I can't have you. ♬
♬ While knowing it, I am looking for you again like a fool. ♬

Knowing it’s his last chance, and because he sees Mom and Jang Mi doesn’t, Yeo Reum plays dirty and grabs Jang Mi in a big hug. Surprising her so she knocks over her bike. Mom stops walking, stunned. Yeo Reum just keeps hugging her and Jang Mi is too shocked to do anything.

♬ You won't know. Even though I'm always laughing, ♬

Mom remembers what Se Ah said. She starts breathing harder. This is so bad. Mom’s going to think Jang Mi is a big fat hypocrite. Se Ah! I’m feeling hatred for you right now.

♬ How much the tired heart is crying. ♬

Mom thinks about what she told Dad. How she said that Jang Mi would never build a house and hurt both sides. She makes a fist.

♬ I wonder if you think about me for once. ♬

Se Ah’s slippered feet step into the heart to stand before Ki Tae.

♬ I just want you to love me. Will love come? ♬

She asks him to marry her, smiling softly.

♬ Tell me you love me. You also feel the same as me. ♬

Yeo Reum and Jang Mi hugging. And notice she’s not hugging back! Mom’s not going to notice that.

♬ Even though I hope again and again, that I can't have you, ♬
♬ Even while knowing it, I am looking for you again like a fool. ♬

Ki Tae drops the roses.

♬ If I call your name anxiously, ♬
♬ Can I meet (someone) like you again? ♬

Episode ends! Arg!

Thoughts

I am inwardly screaming, “No!” Stupid Se Ah! She has hurt so many people with what she did, because she was just thinking about herself. She wasn’t thinking about Mom, Jang Mi or Ki Tae, just what she wanted. Yes, I know that if Ki Tae hadn’t concocted this whole mess, that it wouldn’t have happened in the first place, but it was all about to fix itself, because they like each other for real, enough to really get married. Now everything is decimated. Oma’s going to flip and Mom’s wrath is going to be terrible. And poor Appa.

They were on an uptick. Mom was getting a backbone and actually gave Trollop a little of what she has coming to her. I can’t believe how arrogant and pleased Trollop was with herself over what she’s doing.

Can't believe that the beginning was a fake out. Dirty pool, writers! But it was a really nice proposal. Jang Mi would have really loved it. Stupid Se Ah! And Ki Tae's going to have to do it all over next time... At least Yeo Reum doesn't have to come home and look at it, since he's moved out, even though I'm sad that Ki Tae lost his roommate.

Hoon Dong's Ki-Tae-is-gay mistake played out great. Still patting myself on the back for calling that one.

Loved Ki Tae hanging with Jang Mi's family. I love that they both make the other person's family better, more like a real family, and that in doing so, they are helping each other not be alone.

I also love that Ki Tae came to the realization about his feelings first and that he was going for it and asking FIRST. That's how it's supposed to be.

I have a feeling that Halmeoni is going to help things smooth over, after the initial wrath-of-Mom storm that is coming. Jang Mi totally looks like Dad to Mom, even though she isn't and Ki Tae never felt cheated on, and Mom is going to take out some of her rage at Dad on Jang Mi. I hope Ki Tae is there to help Jang Mi out with that because that rage is going to hurt Jang Mi a lot, especially since she has been sincere in caring for Mom.

Drama with Hoon Dong and Hyun Hee because she lied about her parents. HDM is whack and evil. But I can't believe that Hoon Dong is caving. It's that shallow part of him that's coming out. And part of him feels terrible about it, hating himself -- as he should. I wonder if he's going to come to his senses before Hyun Hee terminates the pregnancy. He was so happy about everything, until he found out Hyun Hee's parents weren't rich. I kind of think that he was happy with the idea of them being rich because it would persuade HDM more easily to accept Hyun Hee and he wouldn't have to stand up to HDM as much. This is where he's going to have to either grow a backbone and grow up, or stay a Mama's Boy.

I do really like the friendship that Jang Mi, Yeo Reum and Ki Tae have. Even though they're rivals, Ki Tae and Yeo Reum have become friends, which is great, because Ki Tae needs some friends who aren't going to exploit his weaknesses. Hope that by the end of the drama, they are still hanging out with Yeo Reum. Maybe Yeo Reum and Se Ah can fall in love with each other. Se Ah needs a male Jang Mi (which Yeo Reum is, for the most part).

Although -- dirty pool, Yeo Reum, hugging Jang Mi to out her to Mom. Dirty pool. He's going to regret it later when he sees how hurt Jang Mi is going to be by the wrath-of-Mom.

Loved that Mom finally kicked Trollop's butt -- literally -- a little bit. Trollop needs so much more of a beat-down and Mom needs to kick Dad to the curb. Everyone was so shocked that Mom did it. And it was only after Trollop did something to Jang Mi, that Trollop went to far. Love that, too, that even though Mom won't admit it, Jang Mi has become part of their family.

But how does Jang Mi still have a job? A scene like that should have gotten her immediately fired. Especially because Corporate was there.

I hope that Ki Tae gets pissed at Se Ah and throws her out for what she did. He looked so distraught at what Se Ah did. How can she expect him to be okay with what she did? She betrayed his trust again, broke her word again. Se Ah really doesn't get it.

Oh, the drama, because the Elders are about to find out the news. I hope it isn't too much of a mess that it keeps Ki Tae and Jang Mi apart for long. Please, writers, maybe just next episode? Maybe Ki Tae can do the kneel-on-the mat-and-plead-for-the-king-to-forgive-him thing that they do in dramas involving the royalty of Korea. To get Jang Mi's parents' forgiveness. I can't see that working on Mom.

I sigh and wimper. Arg! Se Ah! How could you?!
