She says his name. His face says, ‘yes?’ She puts his hand back on the couch and says that they still need to get a divorce. He asks if it’s because of Seok Hoon and says that he will resolve that. She replies that she said that this is her problem. They can't continue living like this. How is this just her problem?! Can I shake her?! He asks her why – as in why can’t we continue being together? He repeats that he doesn’t mind. You tell her, Min Woo. He’ll tell Dad that Seok Hoon tried to kill him. They should talk about the divorce after that. He says that they can keep living like this, Byeon Ji Sook-shi. And you know that she’s swooning every time he says her real name. Although, I’m not really sure what her face is saying right now.
Replay of Min Woo being shot and Mi Yeon seeing that it was Seok Hoon.
Now she’s in their room, standing before Seok Hoon, asking how he could shoot a bullet at her brother? Expressionless, he says that he didn't shoot the bullet at Min Woo. He was shooting at a deer passing by. She screams, “Please!” at him and begs him not to lie anymore. There are tears in her eyes. Why have you not turned him into the police? He looks down and says that it wasn't a lie. He was just hunting an animal. Humans are animals.
Mi Yeon picks up something and hurls it so that it flies past his head and smashes the glass of their wedding portrait. Seok Hoon says that he… did not lie. She’s done with it all. She tells him to get out. Get lost from this house. She can't handle dealing with him anymore. He just stands there. She says that if he doesn't leave, she will. She walks out of their room and Seok Hoon sighs.
Ji Sook and Min Woo are standing outside of Dad’s study. She asks if it’s really okay to tell Father-in-law everything? He replies that he should tell Father first since there is no evidence. Mi Yeon comes down the stairs and asks what Min Woo is planning on telling Dad. Ji Sook says that Mi Yeon needs to know what kind of person Seok Hoon is and what he tried to do. Min Woo says that they should go inside together and she should listen to what they are going to say.
Calm, Mi Yeon says that she also knows what he is going to say. Min Woo twitches and asks, “What?” She says that it will be about what Seok Hoon did in the woods. Ji Sook is surprised. Min Woo less so. Mi Yeon says that she can't forgive Seok Hoon. How could she forgive it? But it won't change anything just because they tell Dad now. He doesn't have evidence either. Min Woo says “Noona” – in a tone asking her to be reasonable. She tells him not to cause a ruckus in the household for no reason. She tells him to give her some time. She will try to persuade Seok Hoon to turn himself in.
Ji Sook asks if Mi Yeon really thinks she can do that. Mi Yeon declares that she will make that happen. She looks at Min Woo and promises that she’s going to stop him so that he can't do anything bad to Min Woo ever again. She tells him that she can do it. She asks him to please give her time. She’s asking him for a favor. And because it’s his noona that’s asking, he’s going to go along with it. I do love that they just see each other as Noona and Dongsaeng rather than half-siblings that don’t deserve that family bond.
Dad and Stepmom emerge from his study. He demands to know what’s the matter. Stepmom asks if they have something to say. Seok Hoon said that he has something to say. Dad tells him to come in first and talk. Seok Hoon is walking down the stairs and says that he will tell them all right now. Standing in front of them, he says that he will leave from this house. Stepmom asks what he means. He says that he will get out of this house completely.
Dad asks if Seok Hoon is saying that he’s separating from Mi Yeon. Seok Hoon glances at her and says that he’s doing as Mi Yeon wants. He’ll take the responsibility for whatever has happened all this time and leave from here. As he sounds like a martyr. Ji Sook is looking at him like she has no idea what he’s planning, but it can’t be good. He tells Dad that because he’s trusted him for such a long time, it’s the only thing he can do out of respect towards him. He says that he is grateful for all this time and gives Dad a deep bow.
Seok Hoon turns to Mi Yeon and says that since he came empty handed, he will leave empty handed. He is laying it on thick. Wow. Twist that knife. He tells her to live well. Mi Yeon struggles. Seok Hoon leaves.
Ji Sook and Min Woo return to their room. She says that they won't be able to go far because the place he will end up in is prison. Aren’t you guys tired? Isn’t it bed time right about now? Min Woo’s shirt already looks like he’s in his pajamas. She says that she will find the evidence that proves that Seok Hoon is trying to kill him on her own. He says that he will prove her innocence from when he framed her. He will get Byeon Ji Sook her name back. Can I swoon again?
Aw, they went to bed. Next morning, Min Woo wakes to holding Ji Sook in his arms. He caresses her hair a couple times and whispers for her to wake up. Byeon Ji Sook-shi. I can’t get over him using her right name! Swoon. He pulls on her ear to try to get her up. No response. He whispers, “I love you.” This gets her to open her eyes. She asks what he just said. She didn't hear it well.
Min Woo sits straight up and yawns loudly. He stretches and asks what he said. Did she have a dream? She replies that she must have. She dreamed that he said he loves her. He leans down next to her and smiles as he asks if she missed him so much that he came out in her dream. She responds by saying how much he must like her that he came looking for her in her dream. He smiles and tickles himself, declaring that it's so ticklish, he can't do it any more. They both laugh.
He gets up to go wash up and tells her to keep on sleeping. Before he heads into the bathroom, he turns around and says that he is seeing it for the first time. She looks up at him and he says it’s her comfortable face. This makes her smile again.
That was so great. Now I’m nervous that something’s going to happen… And speaking of that…
Min Woo walks into Seok Hoon’s office, without knocking, and punches him across the face. Min Woo tells Seok Hoon that he knows what that was for. Seok Hoon glares at him, with a bleeding lip. Min Woo asks what he did to Byeon Ji Sook all this time? Does Seok Hoon think he will get the company if he threatens that pitiful girl? Seok Hoon looks away and rolls his eyes. Min Woo declares that he won't ever forgive Seok Hoon. He will return exactly as Byeon Ji Sook received. Does Seok Hoon understand?
Seok Hoon turns to look at him directly. He asks if Min Woo came to give him an early warning? It's like a scared dog is barking loudly. Is Min Woo afraid of fighting him? Byeon Ji Sook made the decision. Not him. Byeon Ji Sook. Min Woo’s ears twitch as he really gets ticked. Seok Hoon declares that Byeon Ji Sook had a chance to reject his offer. Min Woo tries to punch him in the face again, but Seok Hoon stops his arm. Should have gone for the stomach. Seok Hoon tells Min Woo not to act like this. How can Min Woo look at him later? He shoves Min Woo’s arm away.
Min Woo declares that the things that Seok Hoon’s done. It will come back to him. All of it. Min Woo promises to prove it. Seok Hoon replies that Min Woo can’t. He doesn’t have that kind of capability. Stare down.
Ji Sook and Mi Yeon run into each other. Mi Yeon declares that it’s all because of Ji Sook. Her family became messed up because she came into this house. Um, what are you talking about? You married Seok Hoon a long time before Ji Sook every got there and Seok Hoon was planning on killing Min Woo even then. You could say that you, Mi Yeon, are the one that messed up your family because you brought Seok Hoon into it. Knowing what kind of man he was/is. But Ji Sook doesn’t say that. Ji Sook replies that if she wasn’t there, Min Woo might be dead right now.
Mi Yeon declares that she will protect her own house. She will protect her brother. Ji Sook replies that Mi Yeon won't be able to protect Min Woo. Because Mi Yeon loves Seok Hoon. Isn’t that why she lived all this time, while closing her eyes and ears? Wow, she *did* say it. Go, Ji Sook! If she really loved Seok Hoon, she should have stopped him from the beginning. Before they got to this point. Mi Yeon doesn’t like that and says ‘Ya!’ Ji Sook calmly says that she will protect Min Woo. She tells Mi Yeon just don't to block that. She leaves and Mi Yeon can’t say anything.
Ji Sook is with EHDad. He says that he’s glad that the charges are dismissed now. His Eun Ha embezzle? He can only understand this as a negative political campaign by his opponent. He says that Eun Ha must have had a hard time all this time, right? She replies that it’s okay now. And the photographer, who is three feet away from them, keeps using a flash. I know, this is a quirk of mine, it just drives me crazy. The lighting is good in there. They are not in front of a window. There’s no reason to use a flash.
Reporter says that Eun Ha’s supporting speech became a hot topic. Would she like to say something about her father and family now? She replies that she doesn't have anything. Awkward pause. Ji Sook says that she just means that she doesn’t have anything to say right now.
Mi Yeon is outside Angel-in-us Coffee, watching Ji Sook’s family (including Myung Hwa). She’s upset because Ji Sook’s family is smiling while hers has turned upside down. I’m disappointed. I thought she faced the fact that Ji Sook has nothing to do with how screwed up and upside down her family is. And worse yet, if Ji Sook hadn’t come along, Min Woo would be dead right now. She crumples up the photo of them that she’s holding.
A little boy comes into the coffee shop where Ji Sook is and asks for a coffee. He requests that Ji Sook make it. Then he goes outside and gives it to the purchaser: Papa. He peeks around a corner just to look at her, but she spots him. He tries to run, but she chases after him and calls him “Abeoji.: Emotional music plays but it doesn’t make me emotional. They ask how each other is and Papa ends up crying because Ji Sook is going through this because of him. Which is totally true. If he didn’t have the debt, she wouldn’t have ended up in the situation she was in.
She goes and sits with Papa. He worries that it might cause problems if they’re seen together. Ji Sook assures him that it’s fine. She tells him that she will be back soon. He replies that things that she is doing now need to go well. If she likes it there, they like it as well. Even though Mom has no idea that she’s alive. Papa sighs and says that it’s not his place to come see her like this. Ji Sook assures him that they will gather again and live and laugh together.
Ji Sook tells Papa that she wants to go see Mom. Papa hesitates and Ji Sook finds out that Ji Hyuk lied about Mom being sick and needing surgery. Mi Yeon has watched the whole thing.
Mi Yeon heads to work where she yells at the Gossip Trio. Why does she take her anger on everyone but the one person who deserves it? After the Trio leaves Mi Yeon’s office, they grumble about how she’s acting. Worker2 says that Mi Yeon’s husband definitely cheated on her. Otherwise there is no way she can be that crazy. Manager tells Worker2 not to say that about her supervisor, but then whispers that there is a rumor that he left home. Unfortunately, Mi Yeon walks up behind him as he says it. The Trio gasp.
Mi Yeon asks who had an affair. They lie really badly about it being Worker2’s husband who cheated on her. Mi Yeon lets it go.
Ji Sook meets with Ji Hyuk and finds out that Mom needs a liver transplant. He says he didn’t tell her because she’d worry and get worked up. Ji Sook asks who the donor is… it’s Ji Hyuk. He says that his liver will grow back, so it’s not a big deal. He’s sturdy because he’s like Noona. Ji Hyuk reluctantly tells Ji Sook when the surgery is, but he tells her to watch from afar and not let Mom see her. The shock might make something bad happen.
Min Woo stops by Angel-in-us Coffee. He pauses outside to adjust his suit jacket and tie. Chang Soo asks him who on earth he’s meeting that he’s this nervous about. Practically gasping – like he does when he’s nervous – he calls Chang Soo a punk and asks who’s saying he’s nervous. Chang Soo stifles a smile. Min Woo tries to not hyperventilate.
Before he goes in, Min Woo stops and asks Chang Soo how he looks. Chang Soo, now nervous, asks what he means. Maybe the way I look? Or the clothing I'm wearing? Chang Soo asks if he can tell Min Woo honestly. Min Woo tells him not too honest. Just honest enough. Which is awesome. Chang Soo considers him for a moment and then tells Min Woo that he’s cool, perfectly.
Min Woo scolds him to give more specifics. Like maybe that Chang Soo got caught in his gaze or that he looks handsome or that his smile is beautiful. Chang Soo mutters under his breath – in a manner that says that he can’t believe Min Woo is (1) asking for flattery, (2) asking for that kind flattery, and (3) tormenting him by making him say these things… but mostly #2. Min Woo, indignant, asks if Chang Soo just cussed at him. Chang Soo immediately – in a tone that says ‘of course not’ – says no and that Min Woo is always perfect. He gives Min Woo two thumbs up. This does the trick and Min Woo starts to smile a little. He tells Chang Soo to wait there and goes inside.
Papa spots Min Woo immediately and greets him, calling him “our precious customer.” Papa grabs Mom and introduces her, describing Min Woo as a very highly ranked person at the company. Very high. Min Woo gives her a good bow. He asks for a coffee and when he tastes it, he’s very complimentary, calling Mom “Omanim.” She thanks him for enjoying it. He replies that it’s because she made it tasty, so he drank it tastefully. Dorky Min Woo laugh. He spots some boxes and, ask he goes over and picks them up, asks if they need to be moved. Mom protests, but Min Woo says that a beautiful person like Mom with dainty wrists, he can’t make her lift things like these. Mom is complimented but feels a little awkward.
Min Woo starts to say that the mother is this beautiful so her daughter– he stops himself and corrects it to her *children* must look great, right? Probably very elegant and proper. Mom says that she doesn't understand what he’s saying but she thanks him. As Min Woo takes the boxes into the back, Ji Hyuk steps in his path and asks what Min Woo is doing. Min Woo checks to make sure that Mom isn’t within earshot. Ji Hyuk starts to tell Min Woo that he said not to come here.
Min Woo cuts Ji Hyuk off by dumping the boxes in Ji Hyuk’s arms. Min Woo remembers that this isn't the first time they are seeing each other, is it? He chuckles awkwardly. He whispers that if Ji Hyuk has any hard feelings because of him from before, they should work it out and forget it. Ji Hyuk tries to repeat what he was saying, but Min Woo pats him on the shoulder and says that they should work it out, man to man. When Ji Hyuk is hesitating, Min Woo slaps him on the shoulder again and repeats that they should work it out. He adds, with a secretive whisper, “Brother-in-law.” Such a dork. A sweet lovable dork.
Ji Sook has hunted down Hunter, who doesn’t want to be bothered. He says that he already told everything to the police. Why does he need to tell her about it again? Ji Sook replies that it’s because Min Woo is her husband. She asks him to please speak honestly. Who told him to shoot her husband at the hunting place? Hunter protests that it was an accident and he really thought it was an animal when he took the shot. Ji Sook tells him that just because he got released, it isn’t over. Does Hunter really think that ‘he’ will leave Hunter alone? In the end, he’ll put Hunter in danger, too. She tries to give him her card and asks that he call if he changes his mind. He doesn’t take it and shuts the door. She sticks it in the door. And if Hunter were smart, he would take the card just in case.
Ji Sook stops by the auditorium where the charity concert was held. Man apologizes for the lights falling. He’s very sorry. He gives her a list of staff members’ personnel data that were involved in the lighting at the time of the charity concert, including all the part-timers. And A/V Guy’s name is Kim Tae Won.
Min Woo calls her and says that she must really be busy these days. She doesn't call him anymore. With a smile, she replies that he must be busy these days, too. He takes a long time to answer her text messages. He replies by asking if she didn't know he is very busy person before? Man in white lab coat enters and Min Woo declares that he is busy again. He hangs up.
Min Woo is meeting with a coroner at NFS. Coroner looked into Byeon Ji Sook's murder case autopsy report and says that there are many weird things. There is not enough evidence to be treated as a murder either. Min Woo asks if Coroner is saying that this may not be a murder case. Coroner says that more than likely, it was not. Normally cases like this will be weighted more towards an accidental death. That’s how it’s usually treated. Min Woo asks if Coroner would be willing to testify to that in court.
Min Woo goes back and sees his Prosecutor friend. He gives him copy of the NFS findings and says that he told Prosecutor that Byeon Ji Sook's case made no sense. Coroner found the initial investigation was a mess and the autopsy was weird, and he’s agreed to testify in court. Min Woo tells Prosecutor that now he just needs to make a move. Hyung asks if getting Byeon Ji Sook cleared as a murder suspect is what Min Woo wants. Min Woo says that what he wants is sending the person to prison who framed her for murder. Bam! You, go, Min Woo! Take care of your woman.
Min Woo and Ji Sook are snuggling in bed. He asks her if she’s playing hard to get just a little bit too much? What? He tells her that starting tomorrow she needs to call him once an hour. Oh, not what I thought he was getting at. She nods and says that he needs to answer her texts right away, too. He agrees.
Min Woo starts to wiggle the arm that Ji Sook is lying on. She tells him that she told him his arm would fall asleep if she lies on it. He answers that no, it's not. His blood is circulating just fine. She’s quite light. She pretends to buy it and says that she will go to sleep then, not worrying about it. She nestles in more. He can’t take the prickles in his arm any more and sits up claiming that he’s thirsty all of sudden. She laughs. And I do, too. They are such goofballs. I love them.
Ji Sook smiles and sits up. He asks why she’s getting up? He was planning to let her to continue to use his arm as a pillow. She tells him that she thinks she needs to get ready to leave Casa Choi. There’s a little bit of alarm in Min Woo’s eyes but he tries to look calm. She says that she wants to return to being Byeon Ji Sook and love him as her. He tells her that he understands. She can leave. In return, he will go with her. Aw! When she’s not sure what he’s saying he clarifies that he’s saying that he will go with her wherever she goes.
Min Woo tells her that they should live with her parents. He's confident he can be good to her parents. She just looks at him. Does she not have plans on marrying him? He sighs and says that he has no other choice but to take her in and live with her. She still doesn’t say anything. He tells her that she must act as a good buffer if Papa gives him a hard time. Her smile starts to get wider. Min Woo remembers: Oh, right! They will need to the wedding again. He asks what she thinks. She softly asks if, for her, he would– He cuts her off, saying her name. He hisses at her and shakes his finger at her. Again she’s being self centered. This is all for him. Does she know how suffocating it was for him to live in this house? He asks (himself) if there’s water flowing under the house. Ji Sook laughs.

He tells her that if she wants to give him a kiss because she’s so proud of him., he’ll lend this spot for her. He holds out his cheek and taps it. She tells him thank you, really. He tells her not to just thank him with words only, yeah? She leans in to kiss his cheek and at the last second he turns and kisses her on the lips. She leans back, stunned, and he grins at her. He shakes his head and declares that he will go to sleep now. Such a dork. Such a lovable dork. I want one. Ji Sook smiles and lies down next to him.
Mi Yeon is sitting in her room, drinking. Seok Hoon has left a pair of his glasses there. She puts them on and wonders what is the world he sees? Seo Eun Ha? Or, Byeon Ji Sook? At any rate, it won't be her, right? She takes them off and throws them down on the table. Her wedding portrait catches her attention. She gets up, grabs it and hurls it to the ground. A maid comes in concerned. She orders Maid to please clean it up. The wedding photo, his pillow, his eye glasses. All the clothes he wore, the watches and even the documents. All of it! She’s trying hard not to cry. She even wants his scent gone. And I feel bad for her. She takes off her wedding ring and throws it at the portrait of them. She cries. And I feel bad for her. Even if she did it to herself.
Seok Hoon is sitting – somewhere – looking at 2 photos – one of Eun Ha and one of Ji Sook. He almost rips them both up but stops himself.
Min Woo is asleep but Ji Sook is still awake. She’s too happy to sleep. She looks over at Min Woo and thinks that the wedding she wanted...The real wedding, she’s having it with Min Woo. She imagines that day, so happy. And it’s really beautifully decorated. Min Woo waits for her, smiling. She can hardly contain herself. Ji Sook smiles to herself at that thought and closes her eyes.
Mi Yeon and Loan Shark have located Hunter and, after he’s been beaten a bit, Hunter tells them that Min Seok Hoon told me to shoot Choi Min Woo with a rifle. And... Even if someone else shoots him, I agreed to turn myself in. He was promised probation. Mi Yeon asks if he can tell all of that to the police. Pleading, he says that, of course he will tell everything. Don’t know if he should have said that. Loan Shark chuckles and says that this will be the end of Min Seok Hoon. Mi Yeon looks at Hunter and tells him that if he goes to the police and tell them any of it, Loan Shark should kill him. Loan Shark is confused by that but she tells him just do as he is told. Loan Shark nods and shrugs and repeats the threat. He should have talked to Ji Sook.
Mi Yeon tells Loan Shark to watch Ji Sook’s family and report their moves in actual time. He understands.
Ji Sook and Min Woo are looking at a potential new apartment. She says that she thinks it will be too happy to live here with all her family. Min Woo asks if it isn’t a little small? He has to move in and live there, too. And he is rather tall, you know. Plus, he’s used to having a bedroom the size of the entire apartment. She tells him that small is good. It means she’ll get to bump into him and touch him. He acts like he’s shocked and asks if she doesn’t think she’s a bit too racy? She looks at him and asks if he just realized that? He smiles and says that he didn't know she had that trait. He doesn’t look upset at all. And the realtor is watching the whole thing, not saying anything. Heh.
They plan out what rooms will be where and to plant a vegetable garden in back. The check out their newlywed room. Min Woo immediately flops on the bed and evaluates it. He says that the bed is weird. As he rolls on it, he says that it’s for sure smaller and narrower than the one at home. But why is this so comfortable? Is he weird or the bed is weird? He pats her spot on the bed and tells her to quickly come lay there! She does. And it’s cracking me up because his feet are hanging off the end of the bed. That will *not* be comfortable.
He asks what she thinks. She replies that it really is weird. The bed is too comfortable. He bounces around on the bed, wondering about the springs and they end up rolling over and being face to face. He rolls back over on his back and says that he is not quite ready... She scrunches her nose at him and tells him to come there. He plays hard to get as she tells him that she won’t eat him alive. And then he notices that the realtor has walked in. He immediately throws himself out of the bed and acts all dignified and like they totally meant to do that. They quickly exit the room.
They head to a jewelry store. Ji Sook asks for a watch for Mom… the thickest one so her mother's wrist will look dainty. Min Woo grumbles that he said he will buy a diamond ring for Mom. Ji Sook says that if it’s too expensive, Mom won't wear it and will hide it away somewhere. Ji Sook settles on a gold ring. That looks really expensive. Min Woo shakes his head and tells the clerk to give him about 15 other things (from here to there, all of them). Ji Sook starts to object and Min Woo says that these are his mother-in-law's presents. And why am I suddenly getting the feeling that something bad is going to happen? Things are going too well right now. They are (especially Ji Sook) too happy right now. I’m getting nervous. Can’t he do this as her son-in-law? The other women in the store are slack jawed and Ji Sook is pretty much, too.
Ji Sook gets a phone call. It sounds like good news. Switch to Min Woo asking if it’s true. Hunter has gone to see them. Because the man isn’t stupid. He’s still in a lot of pain from his beating. He struggles and gets down on his knees. He apologizes again and says that he will pay for his sin. Min Woo tells him to go to the police and tell the whole truth. Terrified, Hunter says that ‘they’ told him they will kill him if he goes to the police. He says that he just wants to run far away. Ji Sook says that if he does that, he’ll have to run forever. Is that what Hunter wants?
Ji Sook asks if Hunter has any evidence that Min Seok Hoon ordered you to do this? Hunter doesn’t. He begs them to help him. Ji Sook gets an idea.
Mi Yeon stops outside Seok Hoon’s office and almost knocks. She peeks in the window and spots him in a meeting. But he looks over and sees her, so she hurries off. The meeting that Seok Hoon is in is with Lackey. He has a document – Stock Disposing Document – which is evidence that the Chairman transferred stocks to Choi Min Woo without paying the taxes. Wasn’t Seok Hoon that did the transferring? He holds up another dossier (Embezzlement Investigation Report) and says that it’s the crucial evidence. He tosses it on the coffee table. Lackey asks what Seok Hoon’s going to do. Seok Hoon wonders what would be better? He decides, old time’s sake, he’ll just give Dad a fright. He tells Lackey to give it all to the prosecution office.
Seok Hoon gets a phone call. His response to Caller is “What?” in a tone that is both surprised and annoyed.
Mi Yeon is about to go in Seok Hoon’s office, but he opens the door. He shuts the door behind him and asks what brings her there. She says that she was just passing by...Coincidently. He asks if that’s right; she didn't come to see him? She asks why she would. He tells her to continue on her way then. Minion arrives and he and Seok Hoon leave.
They meet in the basement. Seok Hoon asks if he heard it wrong just now? Camera pans to reveal Hunter, who is demanding money. Hunter is saying this with a thought of dying. If Seok Hoon doesn't give him the amount he gave before, then Hunter will tell everything to the police. Minion steps forward to hurt Hunter but Seok Hoon stops him. Seok Hoon asks Hunter if money is what he wants. Hunter says that because of the money, he took Seok Hoon’s order and shot Choi Min Woo, didn't he?
Seok Hoon says that he’s the one who shot Choi Min Woo. Hunter did nothing. And why did Seok Hoon just confess? You know that Ji Sook and Min Woo have to be recording this. But Hunter wants more money? Hunter protests that if he doesn't get that money, his wife will die. She will die because he doesn't have money for her surgery. Minion asks what he should do. Seok Hoon says to kill Hunter. If he does this one more time, then kill him. But this time, give him the money he wants. He said his wife is sick. At least she should get a surgery...
And was I not right? Recorded the whole thing. Ji Sook and Min Woo watch the whole thing. Ji Sook says that with it, they can send him to prison. His other sins, they will find them after they send Min Seok Hoon to jail. Ji Sook takes the flash drive out of the laptop and holds it out to Min Woo, telling him to do it, with his own hand, directly.
Mi Yeon goes into Seok Hoon’s office. She starts by saying that she didn't come there because she missed him. She had something to say, but didn't say it. That's why she came. He tells her to say it. What she wanted to say. He actually looks a tiny, tiny bit scared. She declares that she doesn’t like him! Seok Hoon glances around briefly and asks if that’s all...That's why she came? I love that he was expecting more venom. She answers that she doesn’t just not like him, but she dislikes him to death. She hates him. He’s not even human. He’s just a devil. The worst of all devils. The devil of all devils!
Like he’s deflated, Seok Hoon says, “Right.” He asks if she’s finished. She tells him too say what he wants to say. He has something to say too, doesn't he? He says her name and after she asks, “what?” he quietly says that he loves her. She tells him not to lie. He asks why she thinks it's a lie. She calls him a bastard. He says that he loves her? So how could he possibly do something like that to Min Woo? He replies that he said that was a misunderstanding.
Seok Hoon walks over to her and gently says her name. He says that he does love her. She responds that that’s a lie. She starts to hit him as she tell him not lie to her! It's a lie. After five or six whacks, Seok Hoon pulls her into a hug. She asks him how he could just leave because she told him to? He replies, asking if she didn't tell him to get out. She tells him to come back. He sighs and pushes her out of the hug. He tells her that he can’t. She knows what will happen if he moves back now. He caresses her cheek and walks over to his door. He opens it and tells her goodbye. Come by when she misses him. He is just so wrong. He is going to use this to get Mi Yeon to do his dirty work.
Loan Shark shows Mi Yeon a picture and reports that Mom is getting a liver transplant tomorrow. Second photo of Ji Hyuk, who is going to be the donor. Papa has serious high blood pressure and diabetes so he can not be a donor. Mi Yeon concludes that if Ji Hyuk can’t donate, Ji Sook will have to. Loan Shark points out that on paper, the family is strangers, so it would be very difficult for Ji Sook to donate. Oh, my feeling is getting worse. Mi Yeon says that she wants to Byeon Ji Sook’s squirming face.
Mi Yeon drives in her car and tells herself that it would be good if Byeon Ji Hyuk disappeared. Ji Hyuk is walking with Myung Hwa, who asks if he shouldn’t be resting for tomorrow's surgery. He replies that he is resting… with her. She smiles at her Oppa. He scratches the back of his neck, feeling awkward. Mi Yeon’s car is driving behind them.
As Ji Hyuk starts to cross the street, Mi Yeon guns her engine and drives toward him. Right before she hits him, she slams on the brakes. He gets knocked over with a slight bump. Mi Yeon gets out of the car and tells Ji Hyuk to talk with her a bit. Myung Hwa starts to yell at her. Mi Yeon basically tells her to get lost. Ji Hyuk goes with Mi Yeon to a coffee shop. He asks what she wants to say. She asks if he knows what his sister did after coming into her house? Ji Hyuk should have just stayed quiet and done nothing. Why does he keep making trouble?
Ji Hyuk tells the ajumma that even if she doesn't make a big fuss, his Noona will come back. She said she would leave from that house. Mi Yeon can’t believe that she’s just going to leave after making such a big mess. This is what kills me. It would be in an even bigger mess if she hadn’t been there. Complete chaos after Min Woo is murdered. How does she keep ignoring that? Ji Hyuk asks what Mi Yeon expects Ji Sook to do? Mi Yeon declares that Ji Sook needs to take responsibility. If not, to compensate.
Ji Sook looks at the ring they bought for Mom. She says that Mom will be very happy if she gets this. Min Woo places the seven bags of gifts he’s bought on the table and disagrees. He’s sure that Mother-in-law will like the gifts her son-in-law gives more. Perhaps, she will say like this: ‘The best gift to me is you, Son-in-law Choi.’ Ji Sook chuckles (and so does he). Ji Sook reminds him that they are only going to look at her from far away, to avoid shocking Mom. He says that he wants Mom to recover quickly, so that he can properly introduce himself to her.
Ji Sook voices a little worry about the surgery being successful for Mom and Ji Hyuk. Min Woo assures her that it will. He’ll pray. He holds up the flash drive and says that he’ll take care of it first and then go to the hospital. It’s time Seok Hoon pays for his sins. But we have 3 episodes left…
Mi Yeon watches as they leave the house.
Dad and Ji Hyuk are trying to encourage Mom before her surgery. Dad says that something really good will happen as long as her surgery goes well. A very big present is waiting for her. Ji Hyuk asks if Mom isn’t curious about what kind of present it is? He adds that thinking of what Mom likes, it makes him happy already. Aw. Mom sadly apologizes to Ji Hyuk. He asks what she’s sorry for. They should finish the surgery quickly and go on a trip. They have to go to Jeju Island. A tear rolls down Mom’s cheek as Dad says they’ll go to the top of Halla Mountain!
Mom closes her eyes and the monitor starts beeping erratically. Mom won’t wake up. The hospital team rushes her down the hall. Doctor declares that it’s liver failure. Ji Hyuk coughs and when Doctor asks, he says he’s fine… but the rash on his neck and his skin color say otherwise.
Min Woo meets with Hyung Prosecutor. But before he can hand over the flash drive, he gets a phone call from Seok Hoon. It’s a recording from when Ji Sook was hanging off the cliff, right before she splashed into the ocean. Does he think that listening to the woman he loves be terrified and afraid she’s about to die is going to motivate Min Woo not to do anything? After she agrees, Seok Hoon says into the phone that he told Min Woo that Byeon Ji Sook made that choice. He tells Min Woo to make a decision. Min Woo grits his teeth. Seok Hoon says not to turn over the evidence to the police. That way he can make his decision about putting Byeon Ji Sook in jail. No one would convict her. She agreed under duress. More than once. And Seok Hoon knows that.
Seok Hoon hangs up and Min Woo exhales with frustration. Hyung asks, annoyed, if Min Woo is going to give him the evidence or not? Min Woo makes a fist around the flash drive and replies that for now, he doesn’t think he can. He walks away.
Lackey reports to Seok Hoon that Prosecutors are investigating the house right now. Seok Hoon says that the Chairman won't be able to stop it on his own. He will need someone's help. And the phone rings with Chul calling. Dad tells Seok Hoon to come back home. Dad cringes as he says it. Dad says that he is asking Seok Hoon for a favor. Seok Hoon smiles and says that he understands. His plan worked.
Doctor is asking Ji Hyuk what he ate. How did they poison him? Or at least give him something that he was allergic to. Doctor says that the surgery will be too dangerous now. Both the donor and recipient could go into shock and die. Ji Hyuk starts to cry because he knows that Mom is in liver failure. Nurse enters and says that Mom woke up. Papa calls Ji Sook. As soon as she hears what happened, she charges for the hospital.
Ji Hyuk and Papa beg the doctor to save Mom. Mi Yeon is watching from a distance. She remembers Loan Shark’s idea: Ji Hyuk has a peanut allergy. She poured peanut powder in the tea Ji Hyuk drank. Why he wouldn’t have a reaction before then, I don’t know. If it was me, as someone with a peanut allergy since birth, my tongue would have started itching about a minute or two into drinking the tea. It would also cause swelling in the throat, not just a rash. And Doctor should know that epinephrine will take care of the allergic reaction. She sees their suffering and isn’t moved by it.
Seok Hoon smiles as he drives up to Casa Choi. He bows his greeting to Dad and identifies himself.
Mom takes the oxygen mask off. She says that she doesn’t think she can hold on. Ji Hyuk tells her to wait because of Noona. They don’t tell her that Ji Sook is alive and coming as Mom says that she’s happy because she’s going to see Ji Sook. Papa and Ji Hyuk cry. Mom thanks Ji Hyuk for being her son. She closes her eyes and dies.
Ji Sook runs inside the hospital. Min Woo just happens to be right behind her, so he chases her as she runs. But Ji Sook is too late. Oh, this is horrible. I had a feeling things were too happy. Ji Sook tells Mom to wake up. Her husband also came with her, Mom. Mom said she wanted to see Ji Sook’s husband and she would treat him well when you had your son-in-law. She starts to cry and pulls out the ring. She tells Mom that it’s the ring she’s always wanted. She puts it on Mom’s lifeless finger and then starts to beg. She tells Mom that she did wrong. And darn, if Soo Ae didn’t get me. She makes Min Woo cry, too.
Thoughts
Just when things looked like they were going to improve… Mom dies, Mi Yeon regresses, Dad is forced to cave and Seok Hoon still isn’t in jail. I’m really hoping that they at least go part of the Crime and Punishment route, so that Seok Hoon will pay for his crimes and find love with Mi Yeon.
But as of now, Seok Hoon has maneuvered his way back into Casa Choi and into Mi Yeon’s heart. Does this mean that she’s going to start believing his lies again? Or is she going to stick with what she promised Min Woo: to make Seok Hoon confess? I’m thinking that she’s going to cave again, especially since Seok Hoon is moving home. What is Seok Hoon’s end game, any way? And why does Mi Yeon keep getting sucked into this destructive relationship? Because of this relationship, she’s doing things I don’t think she thought she would ever do. Because of it, she has murdered *two* people. In both cases, I don’t think she thought that Mom would actually die, but through something she put in people’s drinks, both Eun Ha and Mom are dead. What else is she going to end up doing before it stops?
It’s unfortunate that Mom died, especially since she was so close to seeing Ji Sook again. But, I hate to say it, but I was worried that it was coming. Things were just too happy and upbeat for Ji Sook and Min Woo. They’re snuggling in bed, giggling, shopping together, and apartment hunting. All with an attitude of such hope for the future. It’s like the huge shoe was just hovering, waiting to drop. Especially because Seok Hoon is still out there, it was just to good to be true.
That being said, the best part of this episode was seeing Ji Sook and Min Woo finally be together. I love their dynamic and how they tease eager other. Plus, I love how Min Woo is such a dork but still thinks that he needs to act all dignified. I mean, he stopped by to see his in-laws (and was nervous about making a good impression – heh) and then went shopping for a place for them to live and then bought his mother-in-law a huge spread of presents, not because he felt compelled to, but because he wanted to be a good son-in-law. I really wonder what Ji Hyuk is thinking about all this.
I also love that being in love has Min Woo doing all sorts of things that make him uncomfortable – like letting Ji Sook lie on his arm when it’s falling asleep – just for the sake of that relationship. And he’s afraid of being affectionate, even demanding a kiss on the cheek that he sneakily turns into one on the lips. Such a dork.
It does annoys me that Seok Hoon was able to manipulate Min Woo into not turning over the flash drive. Ji Sook’s part in all of it is obviously coerced. Min Woo needs to go back and punch Seok Hoon again. I love that he made a beeline for Seok Hoon’s office to do that. And that they both are ready to fight for the other one, even when they might not have ever fought for themselves.
