Warm and Cozy Episode 11 Recap

Episode starts when it left off. Jung Joo declares that she’ll never, ever lose to him! Him looking at her and daring her to try if she can and then kissing her. Still makes me smile. Her eyes close and eventually he pulls away.

He looks at her, standing there with her eyes closed – because she’s in shock! – and he smiles. She lost, didn’t she? Slowly she opens her eyes. She looks at him and he looks back. She looks away. She doesn’t know how to take what just happened. The boy kissed you. It must mean he likes you. It’s only the 3rd time he’s done something that really says that…

Gun Woo takes a step backward and points at the 100,000,00 RKW rose and forcefully orders her to make sure to throw out that flower in the trash. Then he walks off. And I so want to punch him right now! Oh, my gosh! I so want to punch him right now!!!

Jung Joo looks like she wants to cry right now. She touches her lower lip, wondering what just happened.

Upstairs, Gun Woo takes off his jacket and throws it on his bed. He sits and unbuttons the top button of his shirt, like he’s being choked by it. It’s obvious that he’s frustrated. He glances down to where Jung Joo is and then grimaces. That did not go how he planned at all and now he’s kicking himself. He rubs his lower lip and thinks about what he should do now.

Jung Joo looks at the rose. She asks if she looks that easy to him? She dramatically snaps it in half. Thunderclap as she does.

Later Gun Woo comes down stairs. There’s the sound of a knife being sharpened. He turns around to see Jung Joo dispassionately sharpening a cutting knife. Horror music plays. Gun Woo decides he should just go back upstairs. He tries to sneak away, but runs into a chair. Jung Joo stops sharpening and looks in his direction. It’s like she’s been possessed. Gun Woo winces. He looks over at her.

Jung Joo lowers the knife and the light from the reflection off the knife frames her face in a really creepy way. Like, super creepy. She tells Gun Woo to come here. He looks around and asks why she wants him to come there. Jung Joo lifts the knife in a strike pose – the possessed expression on her face never changing – and then puts the knife down with a sigh. She tells him to come there and have a drink. She starts chopping celery. I can’t tell if this is her imagination, or if this is real. Gun Woo doesn’t want to. She looks at him and puts the knife down, by stabbing it into the cutting board.

Gun Woo goes over to the counter and Jung Joo pulls out a stool for him. He starts to sit, but she shoves him down. Gun Woo doesn’t know how to react to this Jung Joo. She stands beside him and her face is severe (and hostile). She slides a poured glass of red wine across the counter to him. He looks down at it and then looks at her. She tells him to drink up. Gun Woo smiles and asks why she’s doing this. She says that she told him; she’s not the type to pretend to do something and then not do it. They should take this all the way tonight.

Gun Woo smile/grimaces and asks if they really need to go there? It'll be hard to come back. She forcefully shoves a stool aside, getting a surprised reaction out of Gun Woo, and steps toward him. Now he’s a little uncomfortable. She tells him that he shouldn't have provoked her when she said she would hold back. He looks away.

Jung Joo tries to seductively jump up on the counter. And fails miserably. More than once. Gun Woo moves her glass so she doesn’t knock it over. Finally she jumps up to sit on it. Gun Woo can’t help but smile. Jung Joo squares her shoulders and tells him that he just poured a bag of blood into a coffin of a starving vampire. Now there’s an image. Gun Woo doesn’t say anything. He just looks down and smiles.

Jung Joo says that regardless of whether she eats him up tonight or he escapes this place for all eternity... they should take this all the way. She tells him to move the stuff on the counter. Gun Woo does. And I am cracking up because she is being so serious and so ridiculous all at the same time and he is taking it all seriously.

Jung Joo coughs and tries to lie seductively across the counter. But she can’t decide how she wants to hold her feet. “Stop!” by Jamelia starts to play. Gun Woo laughs, a mixture of discomfort and disbelief. Is she really acting like this? And he’s sitting through it because he likes her and getting this out of her system just might get her to forgive him.

Jung Joo awkwardly reaches behind her and grabs the rose. She sticks it in between her teeth. She points at him, flips her hand over and beckons him to come closer. You know, I think if he called her bluff, she would cave. Eye brow crinkle as he wonders what she's doing. She takes the rose out of her mouth and uses it to emphasize her words as she tells him that he thought she was laughable because he was comfortable with her, right? No, never, he’s never thought you laughable. Now she’ll make him feel so burdened that it will be scary! His face doesn’t look scared at all. In fact, he’s looking at her with downright affection. She’s going to keep coming on to him! Slight eyebrow raise as he considers what that might look like. Because she really, really likes him. She’s going to shoot him a wink – awkward wink – and send him a kiss – hand gesture – and she’s going to shoot love arrows – gun hand motion – a hundred times a day! Enough for him to die from it.

Gun Woo leans in closer – and doesn’t look like that would bother him one bit. It makes her a bit uncomfortable, but she sets her jaw and doesn’t move. Gun Woo says whether she eats him alive and seduces him or threatens him to get lost, she needs to come down from there and do it. She’ll get a cramp if she lies there on a cold surface like that. He stands up – when he should have kissed her. He’s still acting like he’s playing with her and not taking her seriously. Old habits die hard.

Jung Joo sits up and asks if it looks like she’s playing around. Should they go upstairs and do it properly? Now he really knows that it’s all bluster. Gun Woo says that she must have sharpened the knife out of anger after she lost, but she doesn't need to. He lost earlier. That throws Jung Joo off. What does he mean he lost? He was really angry. The Lee Jung Joo he took care of like his own precious treasure went to go see flowers with another man. Now her face looks regretful. He says that he got angry and was out of line. He lost this round. He raises his hand, like he’s surrendering and says that he admits it.

Jung Joo slides off the counter and says that even if she could handle that he won't accept her feelings, she couldn't hold back when he was so thoughtless. The seductress is gone. He replies that he doesn't treat her thoughtlessly. Be it when she was terminally ill or lovesick, he continues to care deeply about her. Which is not the same thing as liking her! He steps forward, so that his hand is sitting right next to hers on the counter. She really sharpened her knife and came after him this time – raises his hand in surrender – but he gives up. Because he thinks it will go all the way, no matter what. Love not-declaration #4.

He tells her that he’ll stay out tonight. He pats her on the shoulder and tells the Vampire to calm down. He’ll see her when the sun rises. He is seriously going to make me fall in love with him at this rate! Please don’t let him do something stupid. I really like this mature Gun Woo. Before he gets too far, she tells him to forget it. She won't jump him. She tells him to just go upstairs and sleep comfortably.

Gun Woo turns around. He pulls the stool out of his way and slides up next to her – within kissing distance. Seriously, the freeze frame looks like he’s about to kiss her. He is killing me right now! Jung Joo eyes are big with uncertainty. She looks away from him as he asks if she thinks he can just go upstairs and sleep right now? There’s a lot of implication in that question. After all, he is a hot-blooded man. She looks at him. Who does she take him for? He pats her on the forehead with the 100,000,000 RKW flower, smiles and leaves.

Upstairs, lying on her bed, Jung Joo wonders what he meant. Does he mean that he was jealous? Yes. Why would he? When she considers that, she smiles. But then she remembers what Dead Face Harpy said about accepting Gun Woo. She stops smiling. She shouldn’t delude herself and get her hopes up. Then it'll be hard on her, too. I hate her! I hate her! I hate her! And she’s so over-confident, too.

Jung Joo goes over to her vanity and looks at the lease agreement. Sadly, she says that she should get rid of it for him, so that he feels at ease when he leaves. Boy, she’s out of the loop.

Gun Woo has gone over to the resort. It’s a nice resort, too. Dead Face Harpy spots him. He’s distracted but says hello. She puts on her biggest Oppa smile. Now that she knows that he’s going to have money and be part of an influential family. She looks very pretty here. She just needs to learn to be more expressive in her face.

He looks at her, wondering why she’s smiling at him like that. They go and sit by the pool. She asks about his hand. Is it feeling any better? He looks at his unbandaged hand and answers, “yeah.” She apologizes for being the reason he got hurt. He looks at her because that’s out of character. Looking sympathetic, she asks if he went to go see his mother on your own. He should've asked her to come with him. And he should say right here, “No, I went with Lee Jung Joo.”

Gun Woo knows there’s something going on. He crosses his arms and settles in for the ride. She asks if he was able to put things to an end with Jung Joo? He stops smiling, concerned. Did Dead Face Harpy meet up with Jung Joo? Dead Face Harpy answers that she did and guesses that Jung Joo didn't tell him about what she told Jung Joo. And I think the pieces are clicking into place. Or they will be when Dead Face Harpy keeps talking. Keep going, Dead Face Harpy! What did Dead Face Harpy say? Oppa smile as she says that she told Jung Joo that she’d accept his feelings. Gun Woo’s face is affected – I’m hoping it’s more an ‘oh, crap’ face, rather than a ‘really?’ face.

Dead Face Harpy says that she want things to change between them. So she'd like him to change for her as well. Why is he looking down? Gun Woo, don’t loose focus! She tells him they should wrap up things with the restaurant and return to Seoul together. Big old Oppa smile.

Gun Woo is sitting at a table drinking water, with a big frown on his face. At least it’s not a look like he's buying it that idiot from Episode 5 would have had. Noona enters, surprised to see him. So he’s at Noona’s suite. That’s nice that he has a key and can stop by. She asks when he came back. He immediately asks if she said something to Dead Face Harpy. Sitting down at the table, she asks why he’s asking. With a voice that says that the whole situation is weird – Gun Woo says that Dead Face Harpy seems to have this newfound expectation of him. Wow, his eyes are open. Please don’t fall back into the darkness!!! She wants their relationship to change.

Gun Woo looks at Noona. Was it Noona? Did she plant that thought into Dead Face Harpy’s head? Like it’s totally obvious, Noona answers she did. She told Dead Face Harpy that he was more than capable of becoming someone that Dead Face Harpy wants. Gun Woo’s face says that he wishes she didn’t do that. Stories about her uncle and her inheritance. Noona looks proud at her matchmaking. Gun Woo does not look happy at all. Noona asks why Gun Woo hasn’t told Dead Face Harpy about it? He knows the type of girl she is. I love that Noona totally admitted it! He sighs and says, “So that's why she's acting this way.” And that Gun Woo isn’t fooled at all!

Noona tells him that he you should make an effort to consider what she wants and change for the one you love. Good advice. Just about the wrong person. Gun Woo says that he likes the way things are now. Noona answers that that's temporary. It's not like he’s going to run that restaurant for the rest of his life. His whole life? Like he hadn’t thought that far. Noona says that she heard he opened up the place after what Dead Face Harpy told him. She doesn't like it anymore. So stop. Gun Woo is looking at Noona like she’s crazy. I agree. This woman should not be giving advice to anyone. She’s already screwed up Hyung’s love life. Stay out of Gun Woo’s!

Jung Joo is considering that restaurant that Mayor can hook her up with. She sighs and says that the deposit is pretty high even for a tiny restaurant like this one. She looks at the Lease Agreement and says that Baek Gun Woo really did lend it to her for free. What is she thinking?

Jung Joo has met up with Mayor. He looks very nice today, in a suit. She asks if she just needs to decide by early next month, right? Mayor says she’s right. The owner there must've really liked her. They’re at the Warm and Cozy, because Poong San is eavesdropping as he’s working. Mayor says that if she doesn't have enough to pay for the deposit because of financial reasons, the owner says Jung Joo can pay her later on after Jung Joo earns a profit. Dang! That’s a deal. A really tempting deal. Humbled, Jung Joo says that she’s thankful.

Mayor shifts slightly in his seat and hopefully asks if she made up her mind. She says that she should end things with Gun Woo and decide on what they’ll do about the restaurant. And that sounds like she’d thinking they’re a couple. Poong San processes that and tries not to freak out. He repeats what she said: 'End things with him'?

Noona, dressed in black, helps Gun Woo put the finishing touches on his black suit. So is he going to the Memorial after all? With all the relatives there? Hyung walks up and asks if they’re ready. Gun Woo answers that they are. Noona, looking proud that they’re her brothers – which I would be, too, they’re handsome – declares that they may all have different fathers, but they all have great figures passed down from Mom. Mom would be very proud.

Gun Woo is encouraged but Hyung is serious. He asks how long Noona is planning on staying in Jeju? Isn’t she going to Seoul? He’s a little grumpier since he got dumped. Noona asks how she can leave with him and Gun Woo in this shape. She asks Hyung if things didn't work out with the woman he was seeing. Hyung doesn’t answer. Noona exhorts him to meet with the director of Miso Gallery! With conviction, Hyung tells her that that won't happen! Noona makes a face at him.

Noona turns to Gun Woo and suggests that they meet with his uncle and sell the restaurant today. Same answer, same attitude: That won't happen! I love them! I love them! Noona protests, asking why no one listens to her? Hyung has to smile, although it’s slight.

Gun Woo asks Hyung: Were you seeing someone and got dumped? Saying “oh,” Gun Woo notes that Hyung gets dumped, too. Hyung asks Gun Woo if he’s going to give up and quit? With conviction, Gun Woo answers that he’s not. He’s here to greet the elders. He adds that he has something to tell them both, too. He tells them about going to Mom's grave yesterday and someone had already stopped by. It could be... his father. Why do they look guilty right now?

Gun Woo says that they know the story because they’ve heard about it. If someone like him shows up, things could get really troublesome. Hyung says that he doesn't care about people babbling on about it. Aw, Hyung is telling Gun Woo that he doesn’t care what the dad did, he loves his kid brother. Gun Woo adds that he has nothing to do with the two of them. If he thinks it's going to be a problem, he'll take care of it. And that makes me a little sad, that he feels like he’s alone in even that. And that he’s looking out for his siblings like that. Gun Woo says that he thought he should mention it ahead of time. He tells them they should go and leaves the room. Ouch, the conversation hurt. Wow, he’s a good brother and yet he doesn’t really feel like he’s part of their family. Ouch.

Noona and Hyung look at each other. Noona says that she hopes Gun Woo's dad doesn't appear before Gun Woo. Hyung says, “A con artist... and a murderer... It'll be hard for Gun Woo to accept him as his father.” Why is what they know different than what Gun Woo knows? Or at least it seems like it, like Mom spun different stories, depending on the person. Noona says that she heard the murder victim's wife still lives in Jeju and that she was quite young. Hyung’s surprised and adds that she must've led a tough life. It is SO Hae Shil.

Speaking of Hae Shil… Hae Shil is at work, looking sick and acting lethargic. Bok Nyeo tells her to go to the doctor right away! Hae Shil won’t. She picked up something from the sea that wasn't hers and became greedy. She’s being punished by the sea god so that she’ll come to her senses. Wow, that’s a self-punishing attitude.

At the Warm and Cozy, Poong San is beating eggs. He asks Jung Joo if she’s leaving the Warm and Cozy. He looks worried. Aw, he cares about both of them. She doesn’t answer, but her face isn’t saying no. Poong San protests: Why? She has a contract that says it's hers until she dies. Defeated, Jung Joo says that Gun Woo needs to get rid of this place now. So she can't just stay there using that ridiculous contract as an excuse.

Poong San’s surprised. Gun Woo is getting rid of this place? With a sad smile, Jung Joo says that Dead Face Harpy changed her mind. Poong San can’t believe it: So those two are dating after all? Especially confusing based on how Gun Woo's been acting. Jung Joo smiles and says that at least he achieved his goal of opening the Warm and Cozy. Poong San’s looks like he’s trying to figure out how to fix that one. With false cheer, Jung Joo tells him that they should open for business!

A woman enters – the woman that had Jung Joo’s picture with her dad, the one that was labeled “Jung Joo’s first birthday.” Jung Joo is wonderfully welcoming and Oma is overwhelmed at seeing her. Her face looks pained and she swallows heavily. Oma doesn’t do anything and Jung Joo looks at her, questioning. Oma asks if she’s Jung Joo. When Jung Joo asks who Oma is, Oma steps forward and rubs Jung Joo’s arm tenderly. Jung Joo looks at Poong San, asking what’s going on. Oma takes Jung Joo’s hand and, voice heavy with emotion, says that Jung Joo’s grown so much. Then she tells Jung Joo that she’s her Oma. When Jung Joo hesitates, Oma says it again and starts to cry. And dramatic music plays. Poong San call Gun Woo NOW!

Gun Woo arrives. Poong San is anxiously waiting outside for him and hurries over to the car. He waves at Gun Woo to quickly get out. As Gun Woo does, Poong San yells at him for being so late. Something huge happened! Gun Woo is immediately concerned. Why? Did Jung Joo leave again? Poong San answers that Jung Joo's mom came looking for her. Gun Woo can’t believe it. Jung Joo's mom? Poong San says that she just came by and cried her eyes out before she left. Gun Woo processes this and with a face full of concern, asks about Jung Joo.

Jung Joo is inside, looking at a picture. Gun Woo enters – with Poong San right behind him – and sits at the table. Poong San stays standing. He says that he heard. How did that happen? She answers that her mom came looking for her. Almost hesitating – like he doesn’t want Jung Joo to get her hopes up – he asks if it’s actually her mom? She shows him the picture – the one we saw before labeled Jung Joo’s first birthday. She says that that’s her dad. That's really him. And this is her. And she heard that Oma was her mom. Gun Woo looks at the picture. In the same voice as before, he asks if she really thinks this is her mom. Jung Joo says that that's what Mom told her, so she feels like it is.

Poong San says that Mom was overseas and came back recently. Mom said she wanted to do everything she hasn't been able to do for Jung Joo. Mom seems to be wealthy. Both Gun Woo and Jung Joo look like they don’t know how to handle this new development. Gun Woo looks at Jung Joo and tells her that she must be happy that she got the rich mom she wanted so much. Jung Joo points out that Mom isn’t as rich as his mom. But it's nice. Gun Woo looks at the picture again.

Jung Joo’s gone out to lunch at a nice restaurant with Oma. Oma, of course, puts stuff on her plate. Awkwardness. Oma puts down her chopsticks and asks if Jung Joo couldn’t get her number rather than Oma just having the restaurant’s number? Jung Joo hesitantly hands over her phone. Oma puts in her number. When Jung Joo looks at it, she notices that the last four digits are zero, five, one, three. Oma says that May 13th is Jung Joo’s birthday. Her passcode and phone number are the same. In case she'd forget it... Jung Joo doesn’t say anything. It’s got to be a little unnerving to hear how her mother has pined for her. Oma asks if she’s been eating seaweed soup on her birthdays? She says that Oma is so sorry. Jung Joo puts some food on Oma’s plate and starts to eat. And looks a little glassy-eyed.

Back at the Warm and Cozy, Poong San says that Oma is staying at Hyung’s resort. It's a luxury hotel. Oma must be living a good life. He adds that Jung Joo's situation has turned upside-down. She has a rich mom, things are going well with the town mayor and she even has a place to move to! He’s scheming again, because he knows his hyung well and knows exactly how to egg him on. Go, Poong San! Gun Woo looks concerned as he asks where Jung Joo is moving to. Poong San says that Mayor and Jung Joo have already checked out the restaurant that she'll run after she leaves here. Gun Woo sighs like he can’t believe it, can’t believe how stubborn she is. You need to talk to her, man. She thinks you’re getting together with Dead Face Harpy. She wouldn’t’ dream of leaving – she’s being a noble idiot! – if she knew that your brain had changed.

Jung Joo and Oma have gone to a café. I guess this is an all-day hang out. Oma’s found out that the restaurant wasn't Jung Joo’s. She asks if Jung Joo wants to withdraw her deposit and leave that place then? Oma says that the deposit was only 50 million. She’ll give Jung Joo some more money and buy her a restaurant. Oma says that she told Jung Joo that she wanted to do everything for her. Oma gets a phone call and steps away to take it. Something feels fishy here. Why did Oma leave to take a phone call?

Jung Joo exhales. She'll buy her a restaurant? She takes a drink, but doesn’t put the glass down well, so it spills, getting on Oma’s wallet. Conveniently set out on the table, rather than in Mom’s purse. Jung Joo quickly starts to wipe it off. She has to open it and finds that picture inside. It makes her happy that Oma has it in her wallet. Outside the café, Oma tells Caller that she’s doing well and to wait a little longer. Even more fishy.

Gun Woo is thinking about what Poong San said about Mayor and Jung Joo checking out a new restaurant. He knows that will get her. You got to just tell her, rather than just being sure that she’ll stay. A ringed hand holds out tickets in front of his face. It’s Dead Face Harpy – with her Oppa face on. Gun Woo notes that she’s there. She wants them to go see this musical. She got them plane tickets, too. (And musical in Korean is ‘musical.’)

Gun Woo says that he can’t. If he leaves so suddenly, Jung Joo and Poong San tend to have a hard time. Yeah, that’s the reason. Dead Face Harpy asks if he still needs to care about something he’s going to get rid of. Gun Woo says that he hasn’t made a decision yet. She replies that he said that he met up with his uncle. It wasn't to change himself for her? And isn’t that just not healthy? Changing yourself so someone else will love you? They should accept you for who you are, with all your faults, instead of wanting you to be something you’re not.

Gun Woo sighs, like he’s tired. He stands up – and looks tired. He tells Dead Face Harpy that she must be doing this after hearing what Noona said. He has no interest, capability, or thought of his mom's family's business. There is no possibility of changing himself to be what she wants. Bam! In your face! I love you, Gun Woo!

Dead Face Harpy isn’t going to give up. She says that she won't push him to do anything right away. But he’ll still sell off the restaurant, right? Gun Woo replies that he has a contract with Jung Joo, so he can't make that decision alone. According to the contract, it belongs to her until she dies. Dead Face Harpy protests that Jung Joo isn't going to die. If she insists that it belongs to her until she dies, will he just let her have it? With a tone like he has no choice, Gun Woo says that he said that he would but he's not sure what Jung Joo’ll say. He is so playing with her right now. I love you, Gun Woo!

Jung Joo is wrestling with what to do. She’s now with Mayor. She says that, to be honest, she could keep insisting on it, that the restaurant is hers until she dies, because Gun Woo will simply go along with it. Mayor says that Gun Woo must have a lot of money. Jung Joo, with a smile, says that Gun Woo’s rich, but he also takes great pity on her. That's why he can't tell her to leave. And not because he wants her to stay or likes her or anything. Jung Joo adds that now that she’s found her mother, if she tells Gun Woo that she’s leaving, he’ll feel comfortable about saying goodbye to her. And I laugh because he so would not.

Mayor tries to get the focus off of Gun Woo’s feelings. Mayor says that it’s great that she met Oma. Jung Joo answers that it's a great thing, so Gun Woo doesn't have to worry now... She’s also happy that she can put him at ease now. She doesn’t look too happy.

Jung Joo arrives, carrying shopping bags. Gun Woo is cleaning glasses. She tells him that she was out with Oma all day and apologizes for not having been at the restaurant. Gun Woo asks where she went. Jung Joo smiles as she says that Oma bought her stuff and treated her to good food... He answers that that’s great. But doesn’t sound so enthusiastic. He does back to cleaning glasses.

Jung Joo puts the bags down and sits. She adds that she doesn't think she needs to be at the Warm and Cozy anymore. Gun Woo looks up – and his face looks a little worried. Oma told her that she'll buy her a restaurant. So they should void the contract now. She wants her deposit back. Gun Woo laughs in disbelief. What's the rush? Why? Does she have a restaurant that she checked out? He’s starting to sound jealous. Jung Joo says that there's a place she doesn't want to miss out on, so he should hurry.

Gun Woo tells her that she must be in a rush, but she needs to wait. He has his reasons, too. She answers that it’s not like he’s broke. He shakes his head. Jung Joo tells him not to be that way if he’s trying to be considerate toward her. Now that she has a rich Oma who helps her out, her situation has changed. She has a place to go to. Gun Woo puts the glass down on the table loudly. He announces that he didn't do anything before, because he couldn't kick out someone who didn't have anywhere else to go. Can I punch him because that’s so not why he did it and he knows it. Jung Joo now has someone she can mooch off, what with her birth mom to support her. Gun Woo declares that he probably won't feel uncomfortable even if he kicks her out now.

I don’t think she was expecting him to so readily embrace what she was saying, by how she just twitched her mouth. Jung Joo tells him that that’s right, he shouldn’t feel uncomfortable about it. He should do whatever he wants now. Gun Woo leans a little forward and asks if she’ll be okay with it? Doesn't she need time to get over her feelings? What about the balloons? She still has some left. Jung Joo says that she’ll keep a few as a keepsake. Gun Woo asks about the ones she hid away. It won't be easy to get rid of those. Quickly, Jung Joo says that there aren’t any of those. He just needs to hurry and give her back her money. Jung Joo gets up from the table and Gun Woo sighs, annoyed. Oops. That didn’t go the way you were expecting. Even though she’s lying about not having any balloons hidden away.

Mayor and MA have gone to see Hae Shil. The Noblesse Resort is asking them to come to discuss the festival sponsorship. Hae Shil should go, but Mayor notes that she looks very ill. Hae Shil says that she’s fine. She should go since it's important.

Now at the resort, Hae Shil is hacking up a lung. Mayor thinks she should go. She says that it’s part of her job as a lady diver. Another coughing fit. She tells them to go on. She'll stop by the restroom. On her way to the bathroom, she runs across Hyung and Jang. Hyung looks really sad as he hardens his face. She bows a greeting, but won’t look at him.

Hyung almost lets her walk by but can’t. He asks why she came there. Hae Shil explains. He tells her that she must've had her hopes up, thinking that he asked her to come. He looks at her and declares that he never asked for her to come. He’s wishing that was the case, that she’s regretting it. She looks at him and says that she didn't get her hopes up. This is about the Lady Diver Festival. She came because she’s responsible for it. He turns so he’s facing her and orders her to not please come again, even if she’s invited. Send someone else. If he runs into her one more time, he’s going to cancel the sponsorship for the festival and everything! She tells him that she understands.

Hyung asks if she think he’s being petty? That's how he is to begin with. She nearly encountered it itself but she got herself out just in time. And the hurt is really obvious in his words, by how bitter they sound. He was really going to give her the black pearl and then take it back. She looks at him and tells him she understands. She made the right decision. Which is not what Hyung wanted her to say. Hyung’s anger at her words makes him snap that he doesn't ever want to see her again. He’s going to pretend that she doesn’t exist. He yells at her to disappear forever!

Hae Shil starts to say something else, but breaks into a coughing fit. Hyung is immediately concerned. He wants to go to her, but can’t. She catches her breath and turns to him. She tells him that they should never cross paths again. She walks away. Jung says that she must be sick. Hyung is definitely concerned. Even though he’s going to pretend she doesn’t exist.

During the meeting, Hyung peeks in the door and sees how Hae Shil keeps coughing. He closes the door and tells Jung to turn off the air conditioning and send in some hot herbal tea. Jang mentions that it’s pretty hot outside – in a tone that suggests that this is a bad idea. Hyung glares at him and repeats his order. Tea is served. Assistant asks why. Hot tea in this hot weather? Attendant says that Hyung requested it. Hae Shil looks at the tea sadly.

Gun Woo is dressed to go out. He glares at Jung Joo as he walks by. Poong San asks where he’s going. A clipped “Seoul” as a reply. Poong San, concerned, says, “All of a sudden?” What about the reservations? Gun Woo snaps to cancel them. That's what they used to do! Poong San asks what's wrong? It's been a while since hyung’s shown this side of himself. With another glare at Jung Joo, Gun Woo says that he’ll be back.

Gun Woo is driving down the street with his windows open. He hears Oma talking loudly on the phone. She tells Caller that she understands! She said she'd have it ready, so why can't Caller trust her? Just wait a little longer! Gun Woo takes off his sunglasses. Oma says that, yes, it will be ready. He realizes that this is Jung Joo’s mom. Oma tells Caller that it will be ready soon. Just wait a little longer. Oma hangs up and goes inside the Han Inn. But Poong San said that Oma is staying at Hyung’s resort.

Gun Woo – not in Seoul – meets with Jang. Jang says that Oma isn't staying at the resort. Gun Woo says that what he saw earlier must be correct. Jang tells Gun Woo to call him if Gun Woo needs to confirm anything else. Gun Woo thanks Jang.

Dead Face Harpy appears. Big Oppa smile. She says that she called the restaurant and heard that he left to go to Seoul. He’s at the resort go to Seoul with her, isn’t he? Apologetically, he says that he’s not going. He needs to check on something. He tells Dead Face Harpy that he’ll see her later and then cheerfully tells Jang that he’ll be in touch. Gun Woo goes. Every time he disses her, it make me so happy.

Dead Face Harpy asks Jang what Gun Woo was checking on. Like it’s her business. Jang reports that it's about Gun Woo’s friend's mother, but he doesn't know the details. And he tells her! Come on, Jang! As Jang goes, Dead Face Harpy wonders who Jang means.

Oma stops by the Shack and sighs. This won't amount to much. Jong Bae arrives to show her the place. They are very happy to see each other. They go for a drink. Oma says that it's been 30 years. They were riding the car that he drove and four of them had a really good time in Jeju Island. The four of who? Oma seems really happy to see him. Jong Bae asks how she’s been since then. Oma admits that she and her husband separated soon after she had a daughter with him. If only the accident didn't happen back then... they could've settled in Jeju Island and had a nice life. She and Jong Bae sigh. Although he looked like he was about to say something. All the coincidences.

Mi Ra is telling Noona what she’s found. The guy in the picture isn’t Gun Woo's father. The man who took this picture is Gun Woo's father. Noona asks what we’re thinking: Then who is he?

Jong Bae has shown Oma the picture. She’s puzzled. Her husband took a picture with her too? Jong Bae confirms that the one who took this picture was President Jin, right? President Jin? Gun Woo’s dad has money. And that means that Jong Bae knows who Gun Woo’s dad is and has kept it secret all this time. Jong Bae sighs. Oma and her husband and this woman and President Jin took pictures and hung out in Jeju Island at the time. Oma replies that in a way, President Jin turned out that way because of this woman. Neither one of them seem to think President Jin is that bad of a guy. More like they are regretful for him because of Mom.

Jung Joo is cooking. Gun Woo returns. He asks what she’s doing. Since she’s in his kitchen. She holds up the knife and asks if he’s back already. He asks if she sharpened her knife again. She tells him to come in. She takes the lid off the pan, announcing “Chun (Ta-da)! Gun Woo peers at it and asks what it is. That’s bad that a chef can’t tell what it is. With a smile, Jung Joo says she made something. He’s surprised. You did? She says that when she thought about it, she’s always eaten what he cooked for her, but she’s never cooked anything for him.

Gun Woo takes a ladle and stirs the dish. It’s really runny. Should have taken the lid off to boil away some of the water. Gun Woo’s face looks he expects it to taste terrible. Is this some kind of stew? It's not. It's porridge. Porridge? His voice cracks me up, like he’s horrified. She nods and smiles.

Porridge is served. Gun Woo’s brow is creased as he looks at it. Jung Joo says that it’s green abalone porridge colored with the emerald sea of Jeju Island. He looks back at her and then the soup. She tells him to enjoy. His face is cracking me up. It doesn’t look very appealing. Gun Woo grimaces. He holds up his spoon and declares that he lost. He gives up. She’s telling him to eat this?

Jung Joo says that it doesn't look right, but it tastes good. She smiles widely in encouragement. Gun Woo sighs and takes a bite. His face scrunches like something bit him. He runs his teeth across the top of his tongue to get rid of the taste. She says that it doesn't taste good either? Gun Woo tells her not to cook for anyone else but him. Heh. He doesn’t want them to know what a bad cook she is. He’s eating it because it's him.

Jung Joo says that she made it for him because it's him… Because she likes him. Gun Woo’s spoon stops halfway to his mouth and he looks at her. Jung Joo says that she can assure him that if they hadn't have had that terminal illness incident, she never would've liked someone like him. (Because) whatever happens to other people, he can live however he likes. And instead of saying, “I like you, too” to really throw her off-kilter… Gun Woo asks if she just realized that? That's how he usually is. He’s bad.

Jung Joo smiles slightly and says that she thinks it was a good thing that she had a terminal illness. Because of that, she got to see how warm and nice he truly is. Aw, he doesn’t normally like to let people know that. But she sees it. She sees him. Gun Woo looks back at the ‘porridge’ a little uncomfortable with her words. Jung Joo adds that even if she doesn't like him, he’s a good person to begin with.

Jung Joo adds that now the girl he likes (Dead Face Harpy) has returned his feelings, he can change in becoming a better person. Gun Woo asks Jung Joo how she would like him to change. Right after she told him to change for the girl he likes. She tells him to do what he think is interesting... He said he wanted to become a good person. Become a good person.

Gun Woo asks if she put something in the porridge? It's a little odd. Concerned, Jung Joo asks if it’s really that bad. Gun Woo replies that he can't possibly eat it... but he’ll pretend to be a good person and finish it. She smiles and says that she made a lot of it. Keep it in the fridge and eat it every day. Gun Woo looks at her and asks why she doesn't just torture him. Heh.

Later, Jung Joo is happily looking at her family picture. Gun Woo notices.

Next day, Oma leaves the hotel, on the phone with Caller. She says that she’ll have 50 million won ready soon. She asks that Caller trusts her. Gun Woo purposely walks in her path.

Next we see, Gun Woo is in front of Hyung. Hyung clarifies that Gun Woo wants to reverse the assets seizure? Gun Woo says that he does. He’ll never do anything to cause Hyung to call him pathetic again. Like he’s a proud dad -- Hyung says that he thought Gun Woo was just passing time until Hyung gave in and went easy on him. Gun Woo’s acting differently this time. Gun Woo says that he couldn't do that anymore. He has to stand up before she gets hurt. He can't stand seeing her cry. And I have a lump in my throat. Hyung nods, liking Gun Woo’s words. Especially since he knows the ‘she’ Gun Woo is talking about (and likes her). He says that he’ll do as Gun Woo asks. Gun Woo smiles at his Hyung.

As Gun Woo leaves Hyung’s office, Dead Face Harpy appears. He’s here? Is she just waiting to make an appearance? Doesn’t she have work to do? He looks back at Hyung’s office, assuming that she’s there to meet with Hyung and tells her to go on. I almost just fell out of my chair.

Dead Face Harpy drags Jang out by the pool. She asks if the friend's mother that Gun Woo asked about... Is that Lee Jung Joo's mother? Jang sighs and answers that it is. Dude! Stop talking! Why is he talking? Because he thinks that she’s tight with Hyung? She sees. Since Gun Woo stopped by, Hyung must be helping him. Jang replies that Gun Woo will take care of it with his own funds. Frown from Dead Face Harpy. Because he's going to spending his own money.

Oma is meeting with Jung Joo. She says that something urgent came up. She apologizes for leaving so suddenly. Jung Joo replies that it made her really happy... just hearing the words. Slowly, hesitantly, she says, “Oma.” Oma’s chin quivers. Jung Joo wants to see Oma off at the airport. Oma turns her down.

Yoo Ja and Bok Nyeo are trying to get Hae Shil not to go out today. Currents are strong in the sea. She replies that her body is fine. Her mind is not doing well. It's actually better to be in the water in times like this. Ajummas are not convinced. Before they get on the boat, Hae Shil has a moment where she’s dizzy. Music which says that something is going to happen plays.

Hyung is riding in his car, thinking about her. They pull over for an ambulance. Jang notes that there must be an accident. Phone call froom Hae Shil. He answers with a hard, “What's going on?” It’s not Hae Shil but Bok Nyeo. Hae Shil has been in an accident. She begs him to come and help!

Hyung immediately heads to the marina. Yoo Ja and Bok Nyeo are besides themselves with worry. Jong Bae tells Hyung that Hae Shil was diving, but she was pushed by currents and went missing. Hyung looks like he could pass out. The rescue boat is out and fishing boats are looking, too. They have to find her before the sunset or it will be big trouble! Hyung steps backward, like he caught himself from fainting. Jang leaves to find out how the search is going.

Dong Soo is there with a camera – I guess so Mi Ra can blog about it. He notices Hyung and wonders what’s going on, especially because of Hyung’s connection with Hae Shil. Man arrives. There’s no news from the boat.

Hyung, in a daze, wanders over to Hae Shil’s ATV. He takes her helmet and looks at it, wanting to cry. He remembers how he told her that he wished she would disappear forever! He cradles her helmet over his heart. Like he’s trying to hold onto her.

Mi Ra is with Noona. The wife of the man that Gun Woo's father killed is a lady diver. She tried to meet with the lady diver a few times, but she couldn't. Maybe Dong Soo can meet her today. Man, after Jong Bae told them to quit. They are obnoxious. Noona says that she’s supposed to stop Mi Ra from writing the novel... but she keeps getting curious. Conspiratorially, Mi Ra says that Dong Soo will take a picture of the diver. She’ll show it to Noona.

Hyung is desolately sitting, cradling the helmet. Jang hurries up to say that the rescue boat is coming back. Hyung looks up for the boat. His face looks so forlorn! Jong Bae yells that she’s there. Ajummas are overjoyed, with Bok Nyeo thanking the god of the sea for sparing her. She apologizes for making them worry.

Hae Shil and Hyung’s eyes meet. She slowly goes over to him. He's still cradling the helmet. She notices and asks why he’s holding it so tight? He says that it was in case she really disappeared. He was holding onto it so that she wouldn't. There are tears in his eyes. Oh my gosh. That was awesome. Tears well up in hers. Hyung hands Jang the helmet and embraces her. And he’s hugging her now. Ajummas are happy. Hyung sighs with relief as he hugs her, cradling her head. Hae Shil cries.

Back at the Warm and Cozy, Gun Woo asks where the car key is. He has a lunch sack with him. Poong San asks if he’s going out again. Gun Woo just answers, “yes.” Poong San says that Gun Woo must be back to the old days. He must be hanging out with Dead Face Harpy with packed lunches now. Gun Woo finds the key and leaves. Jung Joo sighs, because he’s going to Dead Face Harpy.

But he isn’t. At a café, Gun Woo slides an envelope towards Oma. He tells her that it should help her a little. Oma says that, like she promised, she didn't mention money to Jung Joo. She thanks Gun Woo for the lunch sack. Gun Woo says that it's abalone porridge that Jung Joo made. It'll be hard, but please enjoy. That was funny. And sweet because he knew it would mean a lot to Oma. Oma says that she’s embarrassed. Gun Woo replies that she’s Jung Joo’s Oma. Keep being that for Jung Joo… as a mother who has done well and is doing well. Oma is moved. And that’s really sweet, because he doesn’t want Jung Joo to know that what Oma’s said isn’t real.

Jung Joo looks at the lease. Gun Woo returns. He sees her but doesn’t say anything. She asks if he enjoyed the lunch box? Vaguely, Gun Woo replies, “Yes.” He starts to go upstairs but she stops him, saying that they should finish the contract discussion. He sighs because he doesn’t want to have this discussion. Jung Joo says that he’s so busy with his dating life – which ironically, is about Jung Joo, rather than what Jung Joo thinks (Dead Face Harpy) – that they can't find time.

Gun Woo says that he’s busy, so they should talk later. Jung Joo says that it won't take long. Just give her the money. He sighs and declares that Mom is gone. She didn't even buy her a restaurant! Just stay there. Jung Joo answers that just because she has no place to go, he doesn't need to go easy on her. It might not be a big deal to him – which it really is because he knows what it’s like to be alone, with no parents – but she has her mom that she can lean on. She has no reason to stay there like this anymore. Gun Woo frowns. Jung Joo says that she can look into other restaurants and leave... If not, she can follow her mom.

Gun Woo asks where Jung Joo would go, protest in his voice. Jung Joo holds up the contract and says that he’ll also like it if the contract was gone! The girl he’s dating doesn't like her staying there. He snaps back that she doesn’t like Dead Face Harpy either. Just ignore her! Instead of clarifying that Dead Face Harpy *isn’t* his girlfriend. Is that so hard? Jung Joo says that Gun Woo said that he wouldn't be disrespectful to her feelings but what he’s doing now is playing with her! Gun Woo tells her to think whatever she wants. He likes the way it is now, so he has no intention of breaking that contract. He walks off, mad. Oh, my gosh! Just tell her you like her!

Jung Joo goes to see Hyung. The receptionist calls to see if Hyung is available. We know he isn’t because he’s with Hae Shil. Jung Joo pulls out the Lease Agreement and tells it (Gun Woo) that his brother is her classmate! Gun Woo didn't know, did he? She’ll take care of it with Hyung. Receptionist says that Hyung isn’t available. Jung Joo’s plan foiled.

And Jung Joo runs across Dead Face Harpy in the lobby. Dead Face Harpy gives Jung Joo her best mean girls glare and then smug smirk. I hate her! She’s totally going to deceive Jung Joo right now because Gun Woo hasn’t told her how he feels! Boy!

Outside, Jung Joo explains that it would be nice to just pass by, but she’s scared that Dead Face Harpy made a point to stop her and tell her something. She’s never seen Dead Face Harpy like this. Dead Face Harpy turns around, arms crossed. She says that it’s good news this time. It looks like Gun Woo will give her money. Jung Joo answered that she asked him to give it to me, but he said no. That’s why she’s there, to resolve that.

So, did he give it to her mother? I want to slap that smug look off her face! Jung Joo asks what she’s talking about. Dead Face Harpy says that Gun Woo met with Hyung to get money to resolve her mother's issue. Dead Face Harpy announces that the contract is over once the money is received. She smiles nastily and wishes Jung Joo “good-bye.” She saunters off.

Jung Joo remembers all the times Oma talked about money. She mutters, “No way...” Jung Joo hurries to the airport. She finds Oma… and Oma has the lunch sack. She goes over to Oma… who is sitting with a girl who looks really sick and is wearing a stocking cap. Oma tries to act like she’s not shocked, telling Jung Joo that she didn't need to see her off. Jung Joo starts to ask about what Dead Face Harpy implied – that Mom just found her for the money – when girl has a horrible coughing fit.

Oma sighs and says that she wasn't able to tell Jung Joo... the girls have different fathers, but she's Jung Joo’s younger sister. She tells dongsaeng, Soo Yeon, to say hello to her Unni. Oms says that Soo Yeon is not doing well, so she has to get surgery soon. Oma was going to introduce her to Jung Joo after she was fully recovered. Oma thanks Jung Joo for coming out to see me off. She also wants Jung Joo to please tell Gun Woo that she’s very thankful. He brought this abalone porridge she made. Thank you. Oma apologizes again and Soo Yeon has another coughing fit. So Jung Joo has to process that she not only has a Oma but she also has a dongsaeng.

Jung Joo watches them leave, with Soo Yeon giving her a smile, bow and a wave. The girl is very sweet. My eyes are a little watery. So are Jung Joo’s.

Jung Joo is out drinking – because that darn Gun Woo was kind to her again! Which makes her like him even though he’s dating Dead Face Harpy. She picks up the Lease Agreement and tells it, “Baek Gun Woo... please stop being nice to me. You can stop now.” She starts crying again, closes her eyes and rips the Lease Agreement in half. Mayor has watched her do this.

Hyung has taken Hae Shil to his house and tucked her into his bed. She tells him that she can go to the hospital or home. He sits next to her and asks if she thinks he’ll let her out of his sight now? Aw. He tells her to sleep. He’ll sit quietly and watch over her. She closes her eyes and Hyung smiles, content.

Oma has sent Gun Woo a text, telling him that Jung Joo came to see her off. She must've found out. Oma says that she couldn't say anything. She's sorry, Gun Woo. Gun Woo sadly sighs and thinks that Jung Joo will cry after all. And he just told Hyung that he can’t stand to see her cry. Aw.

Dead Face Harpy arrives. She holds up the tickets and asks that he’s coming, right? Gun Woo says that he's not in a situation to go to Seoul with her. He has to look for Jung Joo. She plops the tickets on the counter. Indignant, she says his name and asks what’s wrong with him. Now she finally has expectations of him and she’s coming to him, so why is he worrying about another girl in this situation? He says that he knows. He’s not glad that she’s finally coming to him. Wait, I had to pause that and play it back.

Gun Woo says that he’s just worried about Jung Joo, who must be crying somewhere right now. Dead Face Harpy protests that his worry started from a misunderstanding! Why can't he be done with it? He replies that he can’t. He wants to continue to stay with her. He sounds almost miserable. She asks why he would stay with her and yells that he gave this restaurant to Lee Jung Joo until death, not himself! Gun Woo answers that things changed. So now he can't be done with her. Dead Face Harpy can’t believe it.

Gun Woo says that at first, he just gave her this restaurant... but it seems he went along with it and gave her himself as well. Dead Face Harpy can only gasp, “What?” He continues that things already changed for him, but he kept insisting that it wasn't the case. So he only gave her scars. And he looks and sounds really sorry for her suffering.

Starting to be concerned that he means it, Dead Face Harpy tells him that he hasn’t changed. Which, in the context of his conversation with Jung Joo, means that he’s just bad a guy as ever. Gun Woo doesn't want that. Dead Face Harpy says that it's a temporary delusion. He’s coming with her. Right? Gun Woo stands and says that he’s not coming with her anymore. Yes! Good job, Hong Sisters! It wasn’t even a struggle for him! He has to go to Jung Joo. And he leaves. And his voice wasn’t even sad, just set. Dead Face Harpy sighs and has to deal with it. Because this isn’t Gun Woo’s usual.

Jung Joo has drained 2 bottles of Soju… with Mayor watching her. She calls for another, but Mayor stops ajumma from bringing it. Instead he takes it over and sits at the table. Jung Joo is having a hard time sitting up now. He says that it’s nice to see her and asks if she’s drinking alone there? She smiles and asks how he found her there. He says that he I got a tip-off, that a lady from my town is drinking alone here with a wretched look. He tells her that if she really wanted to drink, she should have come to his house and drank with him.

Jung Joo asks if she should just get married to him then? That makes him choke on his Soju. He blinks rapidly at her. Really drunk, she tells him to try seducing her there tonight. Make her completely fall for him before this bottle is empty. Please try. And instead of acknowledging that she’s really drunk, Mayor goes along with it. With a hypnotizing hand wave, Mayor asks if he used his killer moves and seduced her, would she even remember tomorrow? Of course she would! She’s only had two bottles so far.

Sadly, she asks Mayor to please come into her heart and kick him (Gun Woo) out of there. She really can't live because of him. She starts drunk crying as she says that she really, really likes him... Mayor was smiling, but now he’s trying not to cry as she cries that she can’t live… She sobs and purposely bangs her head on the table. Mayor sighs and takes a drink. He’s not succeeding in not crying. He says that before he starts his killer moves, he’ll go buy some medicine so that she can wake up. He grabs a few napkins from the table for his eyes. He tells the ajumma that he’ll be back.

Gun Woo sits down at the table. Did he see any of that? Jung Joo sits up and slurs that she won't fall for just any average charm. She’s completely fallen for him. She can't get out of it. She opens her eyes to see Gun Woo’s grinning face. Mayor returns to see them together. Jung Joo laughs that it’s Baek Gun Woo! Did Mayor transform himself into Baek Gun Woo? I can see a drunk person thinking that. Swayed by Mayor’s seductive magic, Jung Joo says that she’ll marry him.

Gun Woo frowns. What? Someone else transformed himself, so you'll marry him? He must not have heard the conversation. Especially because he’s probably thinking, someone did what I did (transformed himself) and you’ll marry them? And not me? He sighs and, not mad, says that this is not good. He reaches over and strokes her head, which Jung Joo leans into as she smiles.

Mayor has come back and seen Gun Woo with Jung Joo. He’s stunned that Gun Woo’s there, especially since Jung Joo is happy to see him.

Ajumma comes over and pointedly looks at Gun Woo. He notices and explains that Jung Joo is his girlfriend. Ajumma isn’t buying it. Gun Woo protests that it’s true. He gets up and sits on the same seat as Jung Joo, who leans onto his shoulder. He tells ajumma that Jung Joo said she'd marry him. He hugs her to him as he says that she’s his. Aw. Almost inaudibly, Jung Joo says that he’s right. I'm really going to marry him. We see the arm with the medicine drop as Mayor reacts to that news. Ajumma is satisfied. Gun Woo reaches over and starts stroking a sleeping Jung Joo’s head. He smiles happily. Mayor walks away trying not to cry. Poor Mayor. Even though I am really happy at how happy Gun Woo looks, I still feel bad for Mayor.

Back at the Warm and Cozy, meaningful music plays as a man (who has a driver) sits in a car. He rolls down his window – so we can see his face – and sadly looks at the Warm and Cozy and a very old picture of Gun Woo’s mom. One we haven’t seen before. Oh, no. That’s not good. Dong Soo’s voiceover says that if Baek Gun Woo's father shows up, everyone will become miserable.

Switch to Dong Soo talking to Mi Ra. He says that Gun Woo’s father killed Lady Diver Kim Hae Shil's husband. I knew it! Mi Ra gasps. Dong Soo picks up a picture he took of Hyung and Hae Shil from the marina. He says that the one who loves this lady diver is President Song Jung Geun, Baek Gun Woo's older brother. We switch to Hyung watching over Hae Shil as Dong Soo’s voiceover says that things will get tough now for everyone. Back to Dong Soo who says that the connecting link in this tragedy is Baek Gun Woo. Somber, Mi Ra says that Noona said something like that too.

Flash back to that latest visit with Noona. Noona confides that Gun Woo is afraid that his father would show up and cause everyone's misery. If something like that happens... he will probably leave. She corrects herself. She's sure he will. Uh oh.

Gun Woo’s gotten Jung Joo home and tenderly lays her on her bed, covering her with his jacket. He looks at the Lease Agreement, which he has taped back together. He picks up The Conch Shell (from her first catch) to put in on top of the lease and The Necklace falls out. He smiles about her hiding it there. She thinks she’s going somewhere? He stands up and puts it in his pocket. Then he sits on the floor next to her and tells her that he reattached the contract. He’ll give the Warm and Cozy back to her. He holds up his right hand in a pinky swear and says that this is extra. He takes her hand, so that their pinkies intertwine. He tells her that she can have it. He presses their thumbs together for a true pinky swear and then kisses her thumb. He says, “Promise.” And she has to be asleep for that.

Episode ends with a heart appearing around their pinky swear hands.

Today’s recipe is done by Hyung and Hae Shil. They wear chef’s hats for the cooking. Hyung cracks me up with his hat on.

[Recipe 11: Abalone Porridge]
  1. Cut half of the abalone in thin slices and the other half in small pieces.
  2. Saute together finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and finely chopped abalone.
  3. Add soaked rice in and sauté for five minutes.
  4. Add kelp stock and bring it up to a boil, then reduce heat.
  5. Add thin slices of abalone and boil for three minutes.
  6. When you add it to a bowl, you have abalone porridge full of nutrition!
Hyung and Hae Shil tells us to have a warm and cozy night as they make a heart with their arms. That is so wrong.

Thoughts

So this episode is all about revelations:
  1. Gun Woo is in love with Jung Joo.
    1. He finally realizes it and commits to her (with the cutest pinky swear ever. I want one!)
    2. He tells Dead Face Harpy that it’s over (with no struggle at all) and says that he’s in love with Jung Joo
    3. With the Mayor watching, he calls Jung Joo his girlfriend and says that they’re going to get married
    4. He humbles out to Hyung so that he can get the money to help Jung Joo
  2. Jung Joo’s Oma appears
    1. Jung Joo’s Oma is alive and loves her
    2. Gun Woo’s father is the one in the picture (so they are definitely not twins – although I never thought they were)
    3. Gun Woo’s father ended up how he is because of Gun Woo’s mother – which makes me even more suspicious that everything we’ve heard about his so far isn’t true, especially since the two people who actually knew him, Oma and Jong Bae, neither of them are talking about GWD like he’s a bad person. They would if he was a murderer and a con man. I’m wondering if Jong Bae might have been there, at the accident, since Oma said that Jong Bae was the one that drove the 4 around.
    4. Jung Joo’s Oma isn’t the person that she says she is
    5. Jung Joo has a very sick half-sister on top of everything
  3. Hyung and Hae Shil are in love with each other
    1. His clutching of her helmet desperately so she won’t disappear told her that
    2. She lets him take her to his house and watch over her tells him that
    3. Both we already knew, but those characters didn’t, which is why it’s classified as a revelation
  4. Hae Shil’s husband died because of Gun Woo’s father – which I already figured out
  5. Gun Woo’s father is still around and it looks like he wants to be in his son’s life
    1. This really makes me think that my suspicions about him not being as bad as everyone – especially Gun Woo – thinks
    2. Especially because he still has that old picture of Gun Woo’s mom
    3. And he’s got a driver, which makes me suspect that he’s not a con man either
  6. Gun Woo will leave if his father shows up – I am not looking forward to that
The one revelation that should have happened but didn’t: Jung Joo realizes that all of Gun Woo’s unverbalized love declarations were just that: love declarations, and that he’s in love with her, too.

Can I say that I really hate Dead Face Harpy? She totally doesn’t care who gets hurt as long as she gets what she wants. But what I love: up to now, it’s kind of been the assumption that Gun Woo is relatively clueless to her games. There’s been hints, but this episode shows how aware he is of who she is. I really loved when he told her that he wasn’t coming to her anymore and was going to Jung Joo. That was awesome.
