Ji Sook’s phone rings. It’s Seok Hoon. Ji Sook tells Mi Yeon that it’s her husband and he said it’s very important... Mi Yeon is forced to take the call. She wordlessly listens. And I wonder what he’s saying. She looks upset as she wordlessly hangs up the phone and shoves it back into Ji Sook’s hands. Min Woo asks her what’s going on. She tells him that he’ll soon find out. Giving Ji Sook one last glare, Mi Yeon leaves.
As she drives away, she thinks of what Seok Hoon said on the phone: He doesn't know what she’s thinking. But with her one action, their relationship may not be able to recover. Consider again whether she really wants it to happen that way or not and then take action, if she’s confident about her action. Seok Hoon looks like he’s got his mojo back. She pulls over and screams in frustration.
Ji Sook and Min Woo are walking again. And she hasn’t given her answer. The moment was kind of ruined. He’s probably hesitating pressing now because of Noona’s craziness. Ji Sook worries that they should call Mi Yeon. Min Woo says that they’d only get yelled at if they call her now. He tells her not to worry about; Mi Yeon often barges in for no reason.
Ji Sook turns the subject back to his proposal. He says that he didn’t ask for her answer right now. He’s definitely nervous about what her answer is. He tells her to take her time and think about it. And when she is certain, then answer him. She starts to tell him her answer, but he hisses at her and tells her to think about it longer and more thoroughly. She could be saying ‘yes,’ dude. He definitely doesn’t want a ‘no.’ He uses those long legs of his to walk faster than her.
They return to their suite. Manager is three sheets to the wind. When they enter, he asks if Min Woo has any idea much stress he’s getting at the office because of him?! Min Woo is not in the mood for any more criticism. Ji Sook stops him from reacting and says that Manager is really talking to Section Chief Nam right now. Min Woo says that he knows.
Manager tells the punk that he has a son his age. Punk is just tall for nothing. Ji Sook repeats that Manager isn’t talking to him. Manager lies back on the table. Min Woo exhales because it sure sounds like it’s meant for him. Manager adds that he is envious because punk’s wife is so pretty. Ji Sook tells Min Woo that he’s right; manager is talking to him. Min Woo looks at her in disbelief.
Min Woo tells Ji Sook they should go in for now. He needs to rest a bit. He heads to his bedroom where Yun Soo and Chang Soo are sleeping in their bed. They are not snuggling or anything. It’s like they crawled in separately and didn’t realize the other one was there. Min Woo mutters about these people!!!
Yun Soo wakes up and sees Min Woo and starts screaming and throwing towels at him. How dare he come in there! She is an honest woman! She is disappointed in him, Executive Director. She starts to cry. Min Woo mutters that it’s *their* room. He goes out into main room. Manager is snoring loudly. They check out the other bedroom, which is a mattress on the floor. Ji Sook asks if he can sleep in a place like this. She suggests returning to Seoul. He says that he has night-blindness so he can't drive. But he's driven at night before. He sits on the futon and says that they should just sleep. Ji Sook says that she’ll drive. Min Woo says that he saw her drinking beer earlier. Is she planning on drinking and driving? She makes a face. And poor Min Woo just wants to snuggle with his wife.
Ji Sook sits. Min Woo grunts a little. When she asks, he says that he think that steak is giving him indigestion. Heh. He says that he just needs to wait it out. Ji Sook wants to go buy medicine. He grabs her arm and asks where she’s going. It's dangerous. He tells her that he’s really okay, so she should get some sleep. She tells him to give her his hand. When he hesitates it, she takes it and starts massaging the area around the base of his thumb. It’s supposed to help with indigestion.
Min Woo blinks and looks uncomfortable. But that’s more because she’s holding his hand than it physically bothering him. He pulls his hand away and says that it’s not working. She reaches in her bag and pulls out a needle and thread. He doesn’t want to, but she whines. He tells her to do it after she counts to three. Even though acupuncture isn’t supposed to hurt. That’s the point. She rubs his arm and scolds him for not saying anything earlier. Why try to endure it like a fool?
She wraps his thumb with the thread. He pants with anticipation. She doesn’t count but just pokes him. It hurts. He hisses and then smiles as he laughs. She asks if he’s feeling any better. Smiling, he says he feels perfectly better. He kisses his thumb and rubs it. Ji Sook pulls out her camera. He asks what she’s doing. She says that she wants to take pictures every time he smiles. He asks why. She says that if she forgets his smile in the future for some reason, she’ll look at these picture to remember. Not ominous at all. He shakes his head at her. She begs him to smiles and he does after she smiles at him.
Mi Yeon returns home. Seok Hoon immediately starts yelling at her from his chair. He asks if she’s giving up. She rolls her eyes. He asks if she’s giving up their relationship then. She answers by asking if it looks that way to him? She won't give up this easily. Does he even know what she did because of him? They both know what she’s talking about. She gives him his line about believing her even if she lies to him. He says that he will. Whatever she says, but don't do things like what she did today. They will both have a hard time.
She tells him she will continue. Didn't he tell her to consider whether it’s what she really wants before she takes action? She's thought about it and realized that she needs to act first to know if she wants to or not. Now, that’s dumb logic. So she plans to continue to act. And I’m kind of scared for her, the way Seok Hoon’s looking at her. She smiles at him and tells him that something interesting will happen tomorrow.
Min Woo can’t sleep. He sits up and looks at the pictures in the camera. Ji Sook rolls over to face his direction. He lays down next to her and fingers a lock of her hair. He lets his arm rest on her then he leans over and kisses her forehead. He smiles to himself as he looks at her and then goes to sleep. So sweet!
Next morning, Yun Soo wakes up and thinks that Min Woo is wonderful for letting her use the big room alone. Executive Director, you sensitive man! Then she notices Chang Soo’s feet. He’s curled in a blanket on the bed. She pulls it off of him and he wakes up. They both start screaming and she sprays him in the face with her body spray until he passes out.
Min Woo and Ji Sook emerge from their bedroom. He asks if she slept well. She did. He says that he didn’t. Perhaps his heart is not good, it's been pounding. He is so cheesy! He rubs his chest for emphasis. Yun Soo and Chang Soo emerge. She tells him to stop crying. It's okay. Nothing happened. He fights not crying again. Manager emerges and he’s really chipper. He notices that everyone is a little sullen. He asks if anything happened yesterday. Chang Soo and Yun Soo shake their heads. Min Woo slaps and rubs his chest where his heart is.
The group heads to an amusement park.
♬ Because you are my love I have never had second thoughts ♬
♬ Because we are so alike even just by looking into your eyes I feel it ♬
Ji Sook says that they need to taste more local specialties so they can develop new menu items.
♬ Yes, we should gradually get to know girl ♬
♬ The words that say I love you so much as though I were crazy ♬
♬ Somehow I want my feelings to remain being giving♬
♬ I'm looking forward to spending every day beside you again ♬
Min Woo takes her picture as she eats her treat. She asks what he’s doing and he tells her that if for some reason he can't remember her smiling face, he wants to see it in the photos. Dork. They are both dorks because they both do this. He tells her to smile and takes lots of pictures. Yun Soo gags at the cheese.
♬ I'm shouting that it can't be missed ♬
♬ Being unable to wait a moment longer ♬
♬ Now it just feels like we are going to be more alike♬
Chang Soo walks up behind Min Woo and conspiratorially tells him that if Min Woo will give them his credit card, they will quietly disappear. Min Woo motions for him to take it.
♬ Love came to a stop in my heart ♬
♬ I'm shouting so loudly ♬
♬ that it can't be missed ♬
♬ Now it just feels like we are going to be more alike ♬
♬ Even if I say I love you, ♬
♬ I love you several times ♬
♬ Shouting the song for you is not enough for you ♬
Min Woo and Ji Sook enjoy walking together. She stops so that she can apply some sunscreen on Min Woo. Since today's UV rays are pretty strong. They should be wearing their UV blocking sunglasses. He whines that he’s fine. She says please and he relents. Then squirms as she puts some on his face. Ji Sook starts to have a little moment as she is patting the lotion into his face. She makes him turn around and puts some on his neck. Her moment continues. She draws a heart with the sunscreen and then catches herself. She rubs it in and hits a tickle spot, so he squirms out of her reach and rubs the rest of it in.
Ji Sook wonders if they should stop sightseeing and go back. Min Woo says that, since they are already there, they should finish walking the path. There's a legendary story that if you walk this path, you won't ever split up. He says – and I ‘totally’ believe him – that he’s not the type to believe in that sort of thing, but, well, there's nothing to lose in believing it.
Mi Yeon is sitting in her office, looking at Ji Sook’s family picture. Worker 2 and 3 come in. Worker3 starts to speak, but then he realizes that Worker2 is wearing the exact same dress as Mi Yeon. Mi Yeon asks if she needs to take hers off or will Worker2 take hers off? Worker2 sadly says that she will take hers off. Mi Yeon slams her for wearing a knock-off. Worker2 leaves to go change. Worker3 mentions the store's interior concept and Mi Yeon clarifies that he’s changed it according to her orders. That’s not good.
Byeon Café is hopping. Myung Hwa is working there, too, and the parents love her. Ji Hyuk looks like he’s struggling. Calling them ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad,’ Myung Hwa says that she should have quit her job at the department store a long time ago and come to work here. Ji Hyuk asks if she really came there when they were just asking to be polite? She smiles and says that Oppa asked her to come too.
Ji Hyuk mentions that they got a call from headquarters earlier. They’ve asked all the owners to attend an interior concept presentation today. They can even help with the remodeling costs. Uh-oh. This doesn’t bode well. Dad’s all for it then.
Ji Sook and Min Woo check out the remodel of the ‘Angel-in-us Coffee’ shop. They like the change in atmosphere. He suggests that they remodel the office so that it’s a café-like office. Wouldn’t that be good? When Ji Sook tries to says that it’s not what she meant, Min Woo tells her that he was joking. She is humorless. She answers that she was joking, too! He’s the humorless one. He smiles.
Mi Yeon arrives with a huge crowd. Min Woo asks what it is, this time? He’s starting to get a little annoyed at how Noona keeps trying to screw up his relationship. Mi Yeon says that they have an interior concept presentation today. Didn't they know?
Dad is happily chatting with another franchise owner that he doesn’t see Ji Sook. Ji Hyuk does, though. He pulls Dad out of the way.
Mi Yeon asks Ji Sook to give the interior concept presentation to the store owners, since she’s responsible for the store’s remodel. She should explain what concept she used for the other store owners' reference.
Ji Hyuk tries to get Dad to sit where he can’t see Ji Sook. He’s very vague. He’s not successful in keeping Dad from seeing her. Dad asks how the woman can look exactly like their Ji Sook. Ji Hyuk isn’t making eye contact. Dad wants to know how? Why? Ji Hyuk begs him to pretend like he doesn't know for now. Ji Hyuk says that he’ll explain later. He’s begging Dad.
Ji Hyuk is not successful in getting Dad out of there before Ji Sook sees him. They have a brief exchange they both act like they don’t know each other.
Seok Hoon is sitting alone in a huge auditorium. Minion arrives. He checks with Minion that Eun Ha will be giving a supporting speech there the following day for the assemblyman who is running for office. Minion says that all of Executive Director Choi Min Woo's family, assemblymen and reporters … there will be many people will be gathering here. Seok Hoon says that many things will probably happen too. Minion asks if Seok Hoon is really going to go as planned? Seok Hoon says that he needs to stop Mi Yeon or else something big will happen.
Ji Sook is affected by seeing Dad. She starts to cry in the bathroom and thinks about their last conversation where she told him that she wished he wasn’t her father.
Seok Hoon goes and visits an old man. Who looks a lot like him. He asks the old man if he’d like to go for a walk. Old Man blinks purposefully. Seok Hoon calls Old Man, “Abeoji.” Whoa. Seok Hoon puts some white gloves on Abeoji’s hands. They go for a walk, with Abeoji in a wheelchair. Seok Hoon tells Abeoji that he needs to live a long time. He has to be patient until they get revenge for the things that those people did to them. Dad has something he wants to say.
Using a Korean Character Board – where Seok Hoon points to different letters and Abeoji blinks when it’s the right one – Abeoji spells out ‘Happiness.’ Abeoji tells Seok Hoon that he wants Seok Hoon to be happy. Dad spells out “Yong seo, forgiveness.” Seok Hoon asks if Abeoji is telling him to forgive those people? So that he can live happily? Abeoji is. Seok Hoon says that for what those people did to them, he cannot forgive, Abeoji. Instead he will get revenge.
Ji Sook meets with Ji Hyuk. He tells her not to worry about Dad. He says that he told Dad that she’s just a person who looks like his noona. And they’re not going to tell Mom about what happened. Dad said that he got it. Ji Sook says that Dad is just deliberately pretending not to know. Ji Hyuk says that Ji Sook’s planning on coming back some day, so until then she shouldn't get caught. That way, she can come back. Ji Sook sadly nods. She starts to say something and he cuts her off , saying that *he* got it. Then he asks where his allowance is. This makes her laugh.
Min Woo and Mi Yeon are sitting at the bar. He looks like he wants to punch his Noona, but is sitting there to know what she’s thinking so he can protect his wife. Mi Yeon says that her sister-in-law is so brazen. He saw her pretend like she didn't know when she saw own father. How could she..? Min Woo replies that if she's in a complicated situation, she could act that way. Mi Yeon wants to know what complicated situation? Min Woo replies, “A situation where she can't say.” Mi Yeon asks what kind of situation is Eun Ha in that she can't say? Min Woo replies that Eun Ha can't say because she's in a complicated situation.
She sighs and glares at him. Is he playing with words right now? He tells her that he is. She has to say something logical. She gives him a “Ya!” and he tells her not to yell. The person who should be mad here is him. She doesn’t think she heard him correctly. Min Woo says that he doesn’t know why she keeps acting this way, but don't do what she did today ever again. If there is a problem with Seo Eun Ha, he’ll find out and will handle it. She needs to stay out of it.
Mi Yeon asks him if he’s stupid. Min Woo gives her a face. Wasn't today's incident strange? This isn't something they should just overlook. They need to ask Eun Ha and demand answers. Min Woo tells her, “Fine. I'm stupid. I can't see anything or hear anything.” He points out that Mi Yeon was like that when she first met her husband. Only then? Mi Yeon looks away from him. And thinks about what a crappy marriage she has because she was like that.
Min Woo enters the bedroom and looks at the couch. He sighs and says that Eun Ha will say she will sleep on the couch. He gets an idea. He puts a small heart on one of the cushions and gets Yun Soo and Chul. He says that because it might get on his clothes, do they have any idea many days he hasn’t been able to sit on that sofa? Chul wants to know what Min Woo wants them to do. He tells them that while he’s in the shower, they need to get rid of this sofa. Totally. He walks off.
Chul and Yun Soo follow orders. They get rid of the couch… and replace it with another one. Min Woo mutters to himself that it’s even better than before. She won't even be uncomfortable sleeping there. He groans. Yun Soo tells him that they switched his couch with the sofa in the living room, so he won’t be uncomfortable. She asks if she did well. He replies that being clueless is also bad. The worst.
Seok Hoon enters his bedroom. Mi Yeon is sitting on the couch, reading a magazine. Not looking up from the magazine, Mi Yeon asks if he misses her. When Seok Hoon turns around and looks at her, she says that she thought he would miss her a lot. She is not. He asks what she’s talking about? Mi Yeon says, “The person that you love.” She thinks of him crying next to Eun Ha’s urn. She adds that she’s talking about herself. Did he miss her while she was away? Emotionless, Seok Hoon says that he missed her. He really missed her. She asks if he’s telling the truth. He answers that he is; she’s the person that he loves. And I sigh and shake my head.
Ji Sook returns home. She’s been crying because of her father. She pauses before entering the bedroom to check her face. She puts a smile on her and goes in. Min Woo is asleep on the couch. She walks over and gently covers him with a blanket. She thinks about what Eun Ha wrote in her journal, about divorcing Min Woo within a year of marriage to keep Seok Hoon from killing him. Stuck in the journal is attorney Lee Tae Seung’s business card.
Flashback of visit with Attorney. He says that, when she visited him the year before, Eun Ha said that she would divorce just before her father's election for presidency. He asks why she’s come before the set date. She says that she wants the divorce to happen as soon as possible. What?!!
As Min Woo sleeps, Ji Sook makes a list of things that she wants to do for Min Woo. He wakes to find her asleep in the chair beside him. He sees the list:
- Make healthy juice for him everyday.
- Exercise together.
- Do a concert together.
Ji Sook opens her eyes and realizes that she fell asleep. She quickly sits up and grabs the list so he won’t look at it. He asks why she was sleeping so uncomfortably and tells her to go sleep on the bed. She wanted to sleep where you are. You should head to bed. She stands to go and he asks if she wouldn’t mind, by any chance, making him a juice every morning. He says that he was just thinking about tomorrow starting to drink healthy juice and that he’d love it if she’d make it for him. If it's not too much trouble. He’d love it. He’s so sweet. She nods and says that she will personally do it every day. But he has to finish it, or else.
He starts to add something, but she says that they should exercise together everyday. Like free gymnastics, running, or couple’s yoga? Min Woo says that they should do them all. He was thinking about doing that anyway. He says that now that she’s asking him the same thing, he likes it. She brings up the concert and he suggests that they do it now since they’re talking about it. She says that there’s no piano there as Min Woo goes and gets his violin.
He reaches around her and props the violin under her chin. He passes her the bow and explains how to drag it across the strings. With his hand on hers, they start to plan. After a few notes, she smiles and asks if it’s like this. He tells her to focus. As they play a modified ‘The Blue Danube,’ they sway together. The music that they danced to starts to play. Ji Sook thinks of writing in Eun Ha’s journals that she will divorce Min Woo in order to save him. Stupid, noble idiot! Until then, she will spend the remaining time doing her best for him. She writes to herself to live not to leave any regrets and leave him without any regrets. Take a lots of photos. Make him smile once a day. Make Min Woo healthy. She tapes her list in the journal.
Ji Sook makes the juice and Min Woo happily drinks it. He tells her that it tastes good.
Ji Sook works on new flavors for her coffee shop.
♬ Please help me Only you can rescue me ♬
♬ You are pushing me farther and farther away♬
♬ Where are you going?♬
She brings gifts to all the staff just because.
♬ I love you.♬
♬ I love only you♬
She works on her photo album where there are lots of pictures of Min Woo smiling.
♬ I can't bear it for even a single day, not even one ♬
♬ Not even for a single day.♬
Stepmom is trying to decide what to wear. She groans because she looks good in all clothing. Mi Yeon tells her to just pick something then. Stepmom is stressing because tonight Eun Ha is giving a speech to support her father’s bid for president and they will all be there. The camera will take close shots of family members. Stepmom says that she needs to practice her facial expressions as well. Dad chuckles and shakes his head. Stepmom asks if Mi Yeon is getting ready. She must be prettier than Eun Ha. Mi Yeon says that her preparation is all finished already. Uh oh. What does that mean?
Staff prepares the auditorium where the rally is going to be held. Upstairs, Ji Sook is practicing for her speech and is nervous. Assistant tells her that she can just look at the teleprompter and read her speech, so she needn’t worry. Min Woo tells her that she can do it. She’s is more than capable of doing it well. He tells her to be confident. Don’t worry about memorizing it. Just say what you want to say. That’s what he does, just says what he wanted to say. He thinks: ‘Why did I plan for this in the first place? What is that I really want to say to people?’ Then people will listen to her words. He gives her an encouraging smile.
Seok Hoon sees Mi Yeon meeting with someone. He speaks with her she’s done and tells her not to do it. She feigns innocence: Don't do what? He replies: What you were going to do. Whatever it may be, don't do it. She asks what she’s going to do? He responds that she should know it well. She tells him not to do it either. He’s wanting to do something. She’s not sure what it is yet, but don't do it. Seok Hoon is expressionless. She asks if they should both not do it? Or should both of them do it?
Loan Shark arrives. And I am so over his character. Just kill him already. Him and Goon. Loan Shark acts like it’s just a coincidence that they’re running into each other. Loan Shark is annoying to me and Seok Hoon. He mentions that the money transaction is not completed. If Seok Hoon helped you not go to jail, why would you be mentioning a money transaction, because you’re the one supposed to be paying? No logic. Bad wig.
I just looked at the actor’s picture and maybe it’s not a wig… It has to be a wig with the way that it hanging on his head… Has to be.
Seok Hoon says that he will call Loan Shark another time. Right now (he’s busy)... He significantly eyes toward Mi Yeon. Like he is clueless, he asks if Seok Hoon is acting like this because of Mi Yeon (who he calls Madam). Mi Yeon asks who he is and Loan Shark offers her a card while telling her to call him if she needs money urgently or has money she needs to collect. Seok Hoon grabs the card and says that he’ll call Loan Shark. He tucks the card back in Loan Shark’s suit pocket and lowly tells Loan Shark he will meet him in the parking lot, so wait for him. And Loan Shark is stupid enough to think that he’s untouchable. Loan Shark chuckles and says that they should do that. Seok Hoon sighs and clenches his jaw.
Presidential Support Rally. People are chanting ‘Seo Jong Hoon!’ It sounds like creepy jibberish to me. Ji Sook looks nervous. Min Woo gives her a small smile, takes her hand and runs his thumb across it for comfort. He asks her if she’ll believe in herself. She says that she will. He gives her another smile.
Loan Shark is getting impatient in the parking lot. Minion arrives and Loan Shark wants to know why Minion is alone. Minion simply nods and about 20 thugs appear and surround Loan Shark and Goon. And Goon puts up his dukes like he’s going to be able to fight them all off. I *never* said that Goon was smart.
Ji Sook starts her speech. Min Woo is the only one in the family who sincerely and enthusiastically claps. The teleprompter says, “Nice to meet you. I'm Seo Jong Hoon's daughter-in-law, Seo Eun Ha.”
Papa and Ji Hyuk are watching the speech but turn it off when Mom is about to see it. Papa makes a lame excuse as to why he turned off the TV and Mom lets it go.
Teleprompter reads: I am standing here to participate in history. And then it veers off the script: I am not Seo Eun Ha but a fake named Byeon Ji Sook. Here is the truth. My parents run a snack bar... Of course Ji Sook doesn’t read that. She stumbles for a moment. Mi Yeon waits for the fallout. Seok Hoon asks what
trick she pulled with the teleprompter. She acts clueless.
Min Woo looks at her and wills her to be confident. Ji Sook remembers what Min Woo said about just saying what she wants to say and she begins. She says that she is standing there because she wanted to talk about her father. Min Woo knows this isn’t the speech. Ji Sook says that her father, the father she remembers, was always feeling sorry to his daughter. He felt sorry because he can't buy her a lot of tasty foods. He felt sorry because he couldn't give her enough allowance. He felt sorry for making her mother's life hard. Eun Ha’s parents look at each other.
When she was little, she fell out of the bike that he was riding. It left a scar on her knee. She was so angry and he felt sorry. Ji Sook says that she found out later that her father had learned out how to ride a bike, just so she could ride on it. It was all for his daughter. Papa is watching the speech on his phone. He cries because he knows it’s her.
Why he felt sorry for all those times, Ji Sook says that she think she understands now. It was because her father loved his daughter. That make me a little emotional. Did not expect that. Ji Sook says that she has only one reason to be standing in front of them. Assemblyman Seo Jong Hoon knows how to love his family. He knows how to love people. She asks the audience for their support and to give him strength. She adds finally that since she is standing there, there is something she really wants to say. Father. Thank you for raising a foolish daughter well. She ends with saying “I love you, Father.” As she says these last words, she has a hard time not crying. And I really didn’t expect to be affected.
The crowd stands, cheers. Min Woo claps and is proud. Mi Yeon is annoyed. Eun Ha’s parents are happy. Stepmom is annoyed because Ji Sook didn’t fail. Papa cries. EHMom asks EHDad what’s wrong. His daughter just said that she loves him. EHDad smiles but he knows he never tries to teach Eun Ha how to ride a bike. Stepmom leans over to Dad and mutters that it’s all in the script. What would be lacking for the Assemblyman to not give her enough allowances? Dad nods and says that his daughter-in-law is indeed a daughter of a politician. She is doing well.
I realized as I was typing this sentence, that I’ve been referring to both Ji Sook and Min Woo’s father as Dad. I think that it’s been obvious who I was talking about, but I decided to switch to calling Ji Sook’s father ‘Papa,’ since I can see her doing that, and keep calling the Chairman ‘Dad’ so there won’t be a question in the future. I’ve tried to go back and correct my recaps, but if I’ve missed one, that’s the reason.
Mi Yeon is annoyed and leaves. She finds the staffer she was talking to before and tells him to show what’s on her flash drive. Really? Your need for revenge includes trashing your whole family and ruining EHDad’s career? Really? She tells him to play it now so the whole country can see it. He asks what it is and we get a flask of the documents she put on there. She answers that it’s the things that people need to know.
The speech is over. Min Woo tells Ji Sook that he said for her to believe in herself. She says that she believed in herself like he told her to. The important thing is the way that they’re smiling at each other. Hee! When photographers come over – using flashes when they don’t need to and wouldn’t if they were actual professional photographers because they are only 3 feet away from her. It drives me so nuts! – Min Woo steps away so that she’s in the limelight alone. Min Woo gets a phone call about his buyer’s meeting. Because of the reporters, he doesn’t tell her that he’s leaving. And it’s so sweet because he walks backward several steps like he doesn’t want to lose sight of her face.
Min Woo runs into Mi Yeon as he’s leaving. She tells him that he can’t leave; there’s something he must see. He tells her that he’s already see what he had to see. He walks off.
Seok Hoon approaches Mi Yeon and says that it seems that something is about to happen. Is it because of his mood? She tells him that it isn’t. Something will happen for sure. He doesn’t look worried at all. The lights dim and there’s distortion over the loud speakers. Something begins to play. Mi Yeon asks Seok Hoon if he’s curious what’s about to happen. He replies that he’ll know in just a moment.
It’s not the footage that Mi Yeon was expecting. It’s the footage of Eun Ha’s death. It shuts off before it shows anything incriminating. Event announcer apologizes for the ‘mistake.’ Mi Yeon, tears in her eyes, asks Seok Hoon how he can to this to her. Emotionless, he replies that he told her not to do it. What she’s doing. Whatever it may be. He pulls out his phone and walks away.
Ji Sook looks around and sees that Min Woo is gone. She tries calling and she gets the answering machine. She starts to frantically search the meeting all for Min Woo. She comes across Seok Hoon on the phone. He tells Caller that they should finish it and to just kill him. Ji Sook concludes, based on Eun Ha’s journal, that the ‘him’ in question is Min Woo, but I know it’s Loan Shark. Ji Sook tries calling Min Woo again. Answering machine. She gets a phone call.
Seok Hoon is out in the woods. Loan Shark and Goon are in a pit. On Seok Hoon’s order, they start shoveling dirt on them. Goon starts screaming, panicking. Seok Hoon walks away. How is this even dangerous? Just step on a stomp down the dirt. They’ll fill the hole and you’ll walk out.
Ji Sook hurries through the hospital. The call was Segwang Hospital. Choi Min Woo has been in a traffic accident. All she can think about is Seok Hoon ordering ‘his’ murder. She tells herself that it can't be! She reaches his bed. He’s basically fine and shocked to see her. She asks if he’s okay. He shows her the bump on his head. That’s just it. She sags onto the bed next to him. He asks her what’s wrong. Did something happen? She is trying not to cry. She doesn’t look at him and says, “I love you.” She repeats herself. She drops her head. Min Woo chuckles and tries not to smile.
As they walk out of the hospital, Min Woo sighs. Of all days, he has a meeting with a buyer. He can’t really cancel it because the meeting was scheduled a month ago. Ji Sook isn’t saying anything. Probably feels really awkward because she just told him she loves him. He hasn’t actually said it yet. I mean, he’s asked her to marry him for real but hasn’t said that he loves her yet. He asks if maybe he heard it wrong just then? She said something like she loves him…
Pouting, Ji Sook asks how long Min Woo’s going to tease her about it. He answers by asking who’s teasing. Truly, the words he heard just now, he’s not sure if they were real or not. There were real, right? She answers by saying that she’ll tell him all of it. If he still feels the same way after he hears her story, she’ll tell him again, that she loves him. Wow, that’s momentous. Not only ‘I love you’ but to find out what she’s hiding. She’s really showing him that she trusts him. She tells him to go meet with his buyers. She’ll be waiting for him at home. Small smiles as they depart.
Mi Yeon looks at Min Woo’s brief case.
Min Woo heads to his meeting.
And if anyone’s wondering, the water that they’re drinking is Ilhwa’s Chojung Sparkling Water. It has “refreshed both the mouths and the hearts of thirsty drinkers for more than 80 years with its clear fizzy taste.”
It is considered by the World Association of Mineral Waters as one of the three best mineral waters in the world with Shasta, in the United States and Naplinas in England.
And I have to share this article from ‘Korea Joongang Daily’: Fizzy Water Demand Bubbling Over.
Simply because of this:
For Park Kyung-jin, a 40-year-old homemaker, summer is difficult as she struggles with her two children - one in fourth grade and the other in first grade - who have eczema. As the weather becomes hotter, her children are desperate for cold, carbonated drinks like coke and cider.
“Most carbonated drinks contain additional sugar and artificial pigments and as a mother, how can you buy these drinks if your children have dermatitis?” Park said.
Sugar and artificial coloring cause dermatitis. There’s one I haven’t heard before.
Talk about product placement.
Min Woo and buy exchange documents and buyer asks what he has. He passes it to Min Woo. It’s the fingerprint authentication results from NFS (National Forensic Service).
Min Woo looks at it and it’s the resume of Byeon Ji Sook. He remembers talking with Chang Soo about the results and Mi Yeon coming into his office. As he looks at the document, Mi Yeon watches and once she knows he’s seen it, she walks away.
Ji Sook waits nervously on the bed of their room. She looks at her wedding ring and waits for Min Woo to get home.
Thoughts
Wow, I was trying to think about everything that happened in this episode… It started with the proposal and then Min Woo telling her to think about it and not wanting an answer now (because he’s afraid of getting rejected). Such a goof ball, but that proposal was really romantic J
Then we get Min Woo making up lots of excuses so that they have to sleep in the same bed together, from being stuck at the hotel to trying to get rid of the couch. I still laugh when I think about it.
Then there’s all his cheesy comments, like how he couldn’t sleep because she made his heart pound and getting rid of Chang Soo so they can be alone.
And speaking of Chang Soo, I really hope they develop his little romance with Yun Soo. So they can have lots of Soo children. Hee.
Besides Min Woo being goofy and in love, this episode was fantastic in how it showed his faith and trust in Ji Sook. Even as Mi Yeon keeps needling him to not trust his wife, he’s going to . No matter what. Which is why I’m not as concerned about him finding out before she got to tell him. Sure, he’s going to be rocked, but she’s shown more than once that she’s on his side and in his corner and there is definite tension between her and Seok Hoon these days, so it’s not like they’re in bed together (figuratively or literally). I mean, he’s suspected that Seok Hoon had something on her for a while and he’s known that there’s something she can’t talk about. Well, this is a big something that Seok Hoon could definitely use against her.
I think that he’s definitely going to be rocked, but he’s had to deal with betrayal with his family for years, so he’s going to at least be able to control his reactions when he sees her again. And I think he’s going to wait and see if she actually tells him everything like she promised. Where they it, she’s planning on telling him everything she hasn’t been able to say up until now, which definitely should include her true identity. So, I think he’s going to wait and see what she says and what she doesn’t to decide how he’s going to react and feel.
I think I would feel a little less confident about his reaction if she hadn’t have told him that she loves him, but she did, and he heard it for a fact, twice, unprompted. That has to count for something.
One person who I really don’t know how they’re going to react is Seok Hoon. The man has gone emotionless and for him, that’s never good, particularly because he doesn’t have a problem killing when he is feeling emotional. Now he’s not and there’s nothing to hold him back from maiming everyone. The only thing he has left is his revenge and he’s going to get it if it kills him (or Min Woo, whichever comes first).
Mi Yeon is playing a very dangerous game, one that I don’t think she even realizes is as dangerous as it’s become. For years, she’s played this game with Seok Hoon, where she believes his lies and he keeps on lying, and I’m sure at times she’s done things to stymie his plans, which has led to him being at the most angry for a while. He threatens divorce, she caves. The game goes on. But now she’s actively trying to thwart his efforts and there’s nothing holding him back anymore from really hurting or killing her. And she doesn’t realize that yet.
We’ve got their divorce looming on the horizon, since Ji Sook is convinced that it’s the only way to save Min Woo. I just hope that idiotic scheme will get resolved quickly so we can see these two happy. And Raskolnikov, aka Seok Hoon, getting what he deserves – and I actually don’t think he deserves something horribly punishing, just humbling so he’s remorseful. Then he’d actually be a good husband for Mi Yeon. Sort of.
