Suspicious Housekeeper Episode 19 Recap

The episode starts with Sang Chul’s nice speech: He tells her that he wondered whether it may not be love. But no matter how much he thinks about it, he doesn't think that it is. Neither of them is in a situation right now to love someone. He wonders why. But, I f it's not love or family, why would he worry about her? Why would his children look for her so desperately? He says that he’s realized that the reason why she became a housekeeper was so that she would live as someone else wanted, doing what they want instead of what she wants. He tells her she doesn’t need to return as their housekeeper if she’s like that. But, she MUST return to them. Out of her own volition. He asks her to please return to them. As the children's mother. As his wife.

Bok Nyeo looks at Sang Chul. Probably thinking that he’s crazy and doesn’t know what he’s asking for. But he does. He looks down and pulls out the marriage registration paperwork. He’s signed it and stamped it. She starts to answer, but he interrupts her, telling her to please forget what Old Bat said about not creating a new family. Blaming herself for her family's death is a cross she can choose to bear, but no one can force her to bear that burden. He starts to add something about Old Bat, but stops. He tells her that he won't listen to her refusal now. He tells her to please think this over carefully and if she can't come immediately, to take some time. Whether it's one year or several years, they'll wait. Aw. That makes me a little verklempt. Sang Chul says that they’ll keep her place open.

Bok Nyeo walks from their meeting. She thinks of awful Old Bat’s ‘request.’

Sang Chul’s told the kids about the marriage proposal. Se Gyul asks if Sang Chul likes Bok Nyeo now. Sang Chul pauses and replies that love can mean many things. He may not be in love, but he gets concerned and worries about Bok Nyeo now. He feels sad, hurt and pity for her, too.

Aunt and Dong Shik are camping. After finishing putting the food on the grill, he asks Aunt if it’s not good enough to make him first rate husband material. She tells him not to even dream about asking, since she has no thoughts of marrying. He asks my question: Why? Aunt replies that she has to watch over the kids and Grandpa is alone. But most importantly, he is not her style. He protests that she’s Not his style, either. Song Hwa is his usual style, a cold and haughty woman. She snaps back that he should bring this stuff – pointing to the camping equipment –over to Song Hwa then!

Aunt meet Han Gyul at a Dunkin’ Donuts. She asks how it went between Bok Nyeo and Sang Chul. Aunt smiles when Han Gyul replies that there’s nothing yet. She gets a bunch of treats for the kids. Back at the house, while the kids are eating her treats – and dang! If that’s not way too much for each of them. Two adults could split just one of what they’re eating – Aunt pulls out a bear and gives it to Hye Gyul. She asks Hye Gyul if Aunt is the best and Hye Gyul replies that she is… after Bok Nyeo-nim, of course. Aunt frowns and points out that it’s not like Sang Chul and Bok Nyeo can't live without each other. Do they really have to get married? Could Aunt be a little jealous of the kids’ affection for Bok Nyeo?

Hye Gyul announces that she is going to wait for Bok Nyeo-nim forever. She doesn't want another mother except for Bok Nyeo-nim. Aunt brings up Ji Hoon and Old Bat. Se Gyul replies that this is why Appa told her he can wait, regardless of however many years. Aunt can’t believe that. Han Gyul shrugs and asks what else they can do. Aunt asks if the kids can come to her house the day after tomorrow. Han Gyul asks why and Aunt is surprised they don't know what day it is. Aunt doesn’t tell them, though.

Grandpa is at Happy Company visiting Director Hong. She really hopes that Bok Nyeo will say 'okay'. She deserves to be at peace. Grandpa asks Director Hong what she’s planning on doing. Director Hong asks him what he’s asking about. Grandpa smiles at her and tells her to stop talking in circles and answer clearly. Is she going to join households with him or not? Director Hong says that she doesn’t want to. Grandpa’s still smiling. He tells her that she’s going to regret it by being stubborn for no reason. Whether it's his looks, height or personality, what chip on her shoulder does she have to refuse him? Director Hong sarcastically smiles and overpolitely says that she’s very thankful, but she'll decline. Grandpa’s smile is starting to waiver slightly. He asks her if she’s being sincere. Not smiling she declares that it’s her last bit of pride.

Director Hong sighs and tells Grandpa to watch what would happen if they were to combine their households. The fingers will wag at a mere former housekeeper – who now owns a business – playing a gold digger. And who would these people be? Anyone who knows her now would know her as the owner of her company? Anyone from Grandpa’s family that would object are pretty much dead. In addition, there'd be malicious gossip about the pathetic not yet married daughter. Director Hong sighs and declares that it's too troublesome. Besides someone better than Grandpa may come along! She cackles over that thought. Grandpa is properly insulted. He declares that she can wait 48 years or 100 years, see if someone better than him appears! Director Hong declares that there is and cackles again.

Bok Nyeo goes and visits her husband and son again. She wonders if it would be all right for her to become part of another family,

Sang Chul is talking with his old boss, who wants Sang Chul to quit Gatsby and come back to work for him. Sang Chul says that he wants to finish the project on his own. Old Boss suggests that Sang Chul does the Neo-China Project with JK. It will help Gatsby by getting them out of receivership.

Sang Chul shares the news with Song Hwa, who declares that it worked out well. She asks how his talk with Bok Nyeo went. Sang Chul says he hasn’t received an answer yet. He wonders if making the proposal was a mistake. It's probably difficult for Bok Nyeo to give her affection to others. Song Hwa tells him that it will work out well. He shouldn’t worry too much. Song Hwa shares what Bok Nyeo said about being afraid of coming to love his family, that’s she’s worried about causing them trouble. Song Hwa says that Bok Nyeo wouldn't have said that if she didn't feel anything towards his family.

At home, Sang Chul goes and talks to Oma’s picture. He wishes her ‘happy birthday.’ He tells her that he wishes he had known a little earlier, how precious it is to see them growing up. He leaves. The kids come downstairs and remember that Aunt invited them over. Aunt remembers how Oma would make her the birthday meal every year. Oma tells Aunt that if anything ever happens to her, she has to be the children's mom for Oma. Aunt says that she will. The memory makes Aunt cry.

The kids arrive and Aunt puts out the spread. Doo Gyul asks why there’s seaweed soup. Is it someone's birthday? Aunt still doesn’t tell them. She just says that she just made it. And I want to slap Aunt. They ask Aunt if she has something to tell them. Aunt says that she I just wanted to eat together for once.

Director Hong is meeting with Bok Nyeo. She mentions that Aunt has been trying to get in touch with Bok Nyeo. Director Hong wonders if Aunt is going to ask Bok Nyeo to be the children's mother. I don’t think that’s it. Director Hong asks if Bok Nyeo’s decided. Bok Nyeo declares that she won't be able to do it. Becoming part of someone else's family, she feels too sorry to Joon Ho and her husband. Stupid Old Bat! Director Hong moans that she knew Bok Nyeo would be like this!

Aunt arrives and Director Hong lets them talk. Aunt is nervous and spills her tea. Then she asks about the proposal. Bok Nyeo asks if there is a problem. Aunt protests that there isn’t. She’s just curious. Bok Nyeo just looks at her. Aunt smiles like there’s nothing at all wrong. Bok Nyeo hands her a yakgwa cookie. Aunt says that she doesn’t like them. Bok Nyeo says that when she eats yakgwa cookies, it makes it easier to say difficult things.

Aunt eats the cookie. She looks at Bok Nyeo and declares that she doesn’t like Bok Nyeo. Then she frets about being so blunt. Aunt wants to leave. Bok Nyeo tells her to hold on. Aunt doesn’t want to. Bok Nyeo says that Aunt hasn’t said her main point yet. Aunt sighs and sits. She says it all: In the beginning, she didn't dislike Bok Nyeo. She just thought Bok Nyeo was a bit strange. But now, she’s become really uncomfortable about Bok Nyeo. Knowing Bok Nyeo’s whole story, Aunt worries about whether Bok Nyeo would be a good mother for the children. Even though that’s not really it. Aunt says that Ji Hoon is still alive. What if he comes back sometime and harasses the children? Well, for one thing, they all know who he is and what he looks like, so he won’t really be able to take them unawares.

Aunt apologizes for speaking this way. But she has to speak instead of their mother. Other people can like Bok Nyeo blindly, but she can't be like that. She has to worry about the children's future. Today was Oma’s birthday. But, the children all forgot. They don't talk about anything but Bok Nyeo. How sad would Oma be to hear that? Because she’s so upset, she’s like this.

Bok Nyeo tells Aunt not to worry too much. It will be fine when Bok Nyeo leaves. Aunt’s shocked Bok Nyeo will go. Bok Nyeo asks if Aunt’s heart will be at peace now. Aunt sighs and says that Bok Nyeo leaving isn’t going to solve the problem. Even if Bok Nyeo leaves, the kids and their dad won't lose their attachment. Aunt says that unless the matter's settled with certainty, Sang Chul and the kids will wait for Bok Nyeo forever. Bok Nyeo asks Aunt what she wants Bok Nyeo to do. Aunt doesn’t know, which is why she’s going crazy. Bok Nyeo tells Aunt that she understands Aunt’s position and Aunt should stop worrying and go back home.

Aunt asks what Bok Nyeo’s going to do. Instead of answering, Bok Nyeo asks Aunt if she can take responsibility? Aunt’ confused. Bok Nyeo clarifies: Worrying about the children's future. She won't change her mind? Can Aunt promise that? Aunt is sure she can.

As Aunt walks away, she tells herself that she did well.

Bok Nyeo sits by the river. She thinks of the kids and how they kept telling her to stay, how they love her. Hye Gyul calling her Oma as she sobs.

Sang Chul is at work. They are busy. Bok Nyeo calls him and asks to see him. Café. Bok Nyeo tells him that she will accept his proposal. She will become the mother of his children. Sang Chul is surprised but happy. He tells her that he thought she might refuse. Bok Nyeo asks if she’s supposed to be refusing. Sang Chul quickly says no. He asks if Bok Nyeo’s really going to do it, become part of their family. Sang Chul asks what they have to start doing. He’s been so busy lately. She tells him to do his outside work well and she will be at home, to begin the wife's role first.

Bok Nyeo gets up to leave and Sang Chul stop her. But then he doesn’t know what to say. He says thank you. He can’t think of anything else to say. And he’s sorry for those dry words. He’s not sure why they’re so awkward, the two of them, especially since he proposed. She tells him that she’ll go to his house starting tomorrow morning.

Sang Chul goes home and tells the kids. They clap and are super happy. Hye Gyul is excited to be able to call Bok Nyeo Oma. Doo Gyul asks about the wedding. Sang Chul says they haven’t talked about that yet, but for now Bok Nyeo said that she's going to come tomorrow to take care of them. Doo Gyul wonders if this a dream or reality, that Bok Nyeo is really becoming their mother. Sang Chul says that he has to go grab some clothes and go back to the office. Hye Gyul tells Sang Chul, “Fighting!” Sang Chul says it back.

Aunt enters and trips. Han Gyul tells them the happy news. Aunt is stunned, especially because she thought Bok Nyeo tells her she wasn’t. Aunt hurries to leave. Sang Chul hurries after Aunt and says that he’s sorry that it turned out this way. He knows that it doesn't make sense. But, for the children, it seemed like this would be the best. Aunt tries to act positive. She’s not happy, though.

At work, Manager Kim is there. He sighs and says that it seems like old times. Dong Shik asks why Manager Choi didn’t come. Kim’s surprised they didn’t hear the news. Choi got dumped by the executive director's daughter. Song Hwa sighs. Kim declares that Choi did go around making a lot of women cry. In the end, he did receive his punishment. But did he get fired?

Dong Shik gets a phone call. It’s Aunt. She asks to see him, that it’s important. When he meets her at the café, she asks him if he wants to marry her. He’s so shocked – especially with how she’s been treating him – that he doesn’t answer. He asks if something difficult happen to her today. She tells him not to concern yourself with what happened. So is he going to do it or not? Dong Shik still hasn’t said anything. Aunt declares that she’s forever the three disasters: an aunt that is even looked down upon by her nieces and nephews. She wanted to fulfill the mom role for them, but it seems that she’s not needed. As for Grandpa, there seems to be a good person for him, too. No one looks to her. Does he not need her? He should answer quickly.

Later, Aunt’s looking through member profiles of available men from a match-making agency. Grandpa asks what she’s doing. She’s sulking, that’s what she’s doing. He asks her if something happened. The person that used to flip out and hated it whenever we even mentioned blind dates... She says that she has to live her life from now on. Even if she tries so hard, no one acknowledges her. Grandpa is too stunned to answer.

Bok Nyeo arrives at the Gyul House. She looks at the star mailbox and thinks of Han Gyul telling her to look for the North Star to find her way. The kids are inside decorating the Christmas Tree. The kids take selfies. Hye Gyul asks why they decorate a tree. Han Gyul isn’t sure, but probably so that Santa can easily find them. Hye Gyul says that it would be nice if Bok Nyeo-nim would see this and find them quickly.

Door bell. Hye Gyul quickly gets the door and it’s Bok Nyeo. Hye Gyul hugs her tightly. The kids welcome her and thank her for becoming their mother. Bok Nyeo doesn’t say anything. She just takes off her hat and coat. She puts on her apron and ties up her hair. Hye Gyul gets the rock box and asks Bok Nyeo to add her rock to it. Bok Nyeo hesitates a moment but then adds herself. Then she takes the Mom stone out. Hye Gyul, upset, asks why Bok Nyeo is doing that. Bok Nyeo replies that Hye Gyul no longer needs the stone. There can't be two moms in one house. She puts the rock in her apron pocket. Bok Nyeo says that in the future, as a mom, she'll do her best for them. Then she takes out the rubber band for her hair and goes inside.

As lunch, Han Gyul asks about Bok Nyeo’s hair and Doo Gyul asks why are there so many less side dishes. Bok Nyeo replies that with four children, there's many things that cost money and Appa’s work isn't stable, so from now on, she’s planning on minimizing the useless things. So, they can't eat more than two servings of food. And I know exactly what she’s doing. Bok Nyeo declares that she’s no longer their housekeeper. As the wife of the house, she has to think of the housekeeping. Hye Gyul asks what 'housekeeping is. Bok Nyeo answers by telling Hye Gyul that starting next year, she's going to be a primary schooler, so how long is she going to continue acting like a baby. Hye Gyul should know that she’ll be scolded if she continues to babble during mealtimes. The kids are shocked. Han Gyul tells Bok Nyeo-nim that her way of speaking has suddenly changed from before... Bok Nyeo replies that it’s not Bok Nyeo-nim, they need to call her Mom. The kids are definitely uncomfortable.

As they walk to school, the kids wonder what’s going on. Bok Nyeo-nim is acting really strangely. Se Gyul says that it’s like she's become a totally different person. Han Gyul says that Bok Nyeo is their mum now, so she is right. But it's a bit shocking.

Mr. Nosy bursts in to a meeting. He wants to know what’s going on. Why a sudden replacement? Writer Kwon replies that she’s already told him. He can’t believe it. Writer Kwon says that Mrs. Nosy personally filed a complaint with the company ethics committee. She’s willing to cut him some slack. Is 400,000 won for child support to his liking? Mr. Nosy looks like he wants to pass out.

Aunt’s just told Grandpa about her upcoming marriage to a fund manager who's doing very well. He's been assigned to the New York branch. He has to get married quickly and leave. Grandpa can’t believe that the guy would just want to marry Aunt without getting to know her first. Grandpa asks if she’s got her marriage license. Aunt frowns and says that its not like a driving license. Grandpa still isn’t appeased.

Bok Nyeo is walking Hye Gyul to school. Hye Gyul is singing. She asks Bok Nyeo-nim. Bok Nyeo tells her to call her "Mom." Hye Gyul apologizes. Bok Nyeo tells Hye Gyul to stop singing the song, too, since she sang it with her dead mother. She needs to forget it. Mrs. Nosy overhears that one and goes talking to the Butchers. Mrs. Nosy wonders how Bok Nyeo can change so completely. Mrs. Butcher declares that Bok Nyeo did well. If a child does something wrong, you should scold them. That's what a mom is. Mrs. Nosy protests that it's not a child that came from Bok Nyeo’s womb. Mrs. Butcher puts down her knife hard and yells, asking if it must be from your womb for it to be your child? Doesn't Mrs. Nosy know that affection from raising a child is greater than affection from giving birth to the child? Mr. Butcher motions for Mrs. Butcher to calm down. Mrs. Nosy asks why Mrs. Butcher is you getting angry at her; did she make a mistake?

Han Gyul is walking with Woo Jae. She says that Bok Nyeo is finding fault for every single thing. Woo Jae points out that Oma did that, too. Han Gyul replies that Bok Nyeo-nim isn't their real mother. Woo Jae asks if Bok Nyeo isn't their real mom, does that mean she doesn't have the right to nag at you? They arrive at the butcher shop, where Mr. Butcher is massaging Mrs. Butcher’s shoulders. Mr. Butcher asks Han Gyul about Bok Nyeo. He asks if they want him to talk to Bok Nyeo. Mrs. Butcher tells Mr. Butcher that he should mind his own business. Woo Jae tells them that there is something they need to do.

Record company. The four stare up at the tall bldg. Han Gyul says that right now, Sunbae's dad will have arrived, too. Mr. Butcher tells Mrs. Butcher that he’ll stay put. This is her specialty. She makes a face and cracks her knuckles. Upstairs, Scumdad is stuffing his face. Poor Soo Hyuk. Why did Scumdad need to know? Scumdad acts like a jerk and CEO Song glares and sighs. Scumdad proposes a 3 year contract for 3 million. They’re turning down the offer for 1 million for 3 years. CEO Song laughs, not believing this guy’s nerve. Soo Hyuk is dying inside. CEO Song asks if Scumdad is joking. Soo Hyuk protests that he’s not some sort of star but Scumdad hisses at him and tells him to shut up.

CEO Song says that he saw some potential in Soo Hyuk, so he was going to train him. But, they need to pretend that this never happened. The Butchers to the rescue! They enter, with Woo Jae and Han Gyul. Mrs. Butcher picks up the noodles and dumps them over Scumdad’s head. Scumdad protests and she lays into him. Scumdad’s there asking for a hand-out? This is a cycle of extortion. Scumdad tells CEO Song to call the police. Han Gyul says that they’re already on their way. Woo Jae adds that Scumdad is going to be charged with abusing his underage son through extortion.

Later, Han Gyul is happily texting on her phone. Doo Gyul is playing a video game and Hye Gyul is watching. Only Se Gyul is doing his homework. Mom-Nyeo intervenes. She says that from now on, using the phone (including texting) is prohibited. So is playing video games. Se Gyul is to do his homework after he cleans up his area. And – to Hye Gyul – having more than one chocolate bar a day is prohibited. Now, they are going to clean the whole house, so all of them need to help.

Bok Nyeo announces that she’s thinking about getting rid of all useless items. She grabs Oma’s picture and tells Doo Gyul to throw it away. They protest that it’s their mom’s portrait. Bok Nyeo reminds them that their Oma is now her. Are they leaving their mother's photo as it is, and then asking her to be their mom? It is possible to keep Oma alive and be the new Oma. Bok Nyeo pulls out the Mom stone and tells Hye Gyul to throw it away. Hye Gyul snatches it out of Bok Nyeo’s hand and refuses.

Han Gyul asks Bok Nyeo Nim to please just stop. They asked her to become their mom, but this isn't right. She asks them if they’re going to leave instead. If they won't listen to Mom's words, then they need to get out of the house this instant. What? The kids are shocked, hurt and angry. They leave the house. Bok Nyeo looks at Oma’s picture and thinks that she will return the kids to Oma. Aw. Poor Bok Nyeo.

The kids go to the river. Hye Gyul doesn’t understand why Bok Nyeo is being like that. If they live with Bok Nyeo-nim, do they have to forget about Mom now? Han Gyul tells her that she doesn’t have to. Doo Gyul doesn’t understand it, either. Se Gyul’s confused, too. Why has Bok Nyeo become a totally different person? Han Gyul wonders what’s really going on. She was angry earlier, but this isn’t like Bok Nyeo-nim. Bok Nyeo-nim is not that kind of person. They start to wonder if she’s doing it for a reason.

And Bok Nyeo arrives, asking them what they’re all whispering about. She tells them that it’s fine. They can rebel as much as they want. She doesn't have to feed kids who won’t listen. The kids go talk to Sang Chul. He can’t believe what Bok Nyeo said. He tells them not to worry, he’ll talk to Bok Nyeo.

Bok Nyeo is sitting on the couch, watching ‘The Heirs.’ Sang Chul arrives home and she doesn’t even really get up to greet him. She asks him if he’s home for dinner. He says that he came home for a bit because he has something to tell her. Not looking at him, she asks him if he can you wait for a bit? This is an important scene, so... She is being a total butthead. Sang Chul sighs.

Later, Sang Chul asks if Bok Nyeo asked if she told the children to get rid of their mother's picture. She asks if there’s a problem. He asks why she did it that way. It’s a little– Bok Nyeo cuts him off and says that ‘yeobo,’ she’s really disappointed. Since he asked her to be the children's mother, he should have gotten rid of such things, before she can become that. She did it reluctantly and Sang Chul, when he heard what she had said, he came scurrying over to get after her. What is she supposed to do? In the end, she is just someone who'll be seen as nothing but a housekeeper to him. Sang Chul says that is not what he’s saying right now.

Bok Nyeo tells Sang Chul that if he doesn't want to make her into an evil step-mother, he'll have to conduct himself well. Sang Chul’s not sure what she means by his conduct. Bok Nyeo tells him to leave the children's affairs to her. After all, that's a mother's role. He just needs to go and earn his salary. Wow. She is… wow. Bok Nyeo asks him if he thinks she’s nagging now? Sang Chul doesn’t know what to say.

Aunt is with her fiancé and the wedding planner, looking at gowns. Aunt doesn’t care. Anything would be fine. Aunt says that she wants a rental. Fiancé wonders if custom-made is better.

Se Gyul is doing his homework. Bok Nyeo takes it away from him. Se Gyul says that his teacher has asked him to write a letter, addressed to Mom, listing the things that he’s thankful. Bok Nyeo asks why it’s addressed to Sang Chul, then. Se Gyul replies that he doesn't have a Mom. Bok Nyeo tells him to write it to her, since she’s his mom now. She rips up the one he addressed to Sang Chul.

Dong Shik is telling Sang Chul about what Aunt is doing. Dong Shik doesn’t think that Aunt is really happy. Sang Chul calls Aunt and asks to speak with her. At the café, he asks why she’s marrying a complete stranger? Aunt shrugs and says that marriage isn’t that special? Besides, their affections will grow later. She asks him if it’s possible to change a mother's presence like he’s changing a couch. Sang Chul asks if Aunt is getting married because of Bok Nyeo. She says it is. Didn’t Bok Nyeo tell him about their conversation. Aunt says that she doesn't like Bok Nyeo becoming the children's mom, but it’s not her place to object. Sang Chul doesn’t love Bok Nyeo, not like when it was Song Hwa. Yes, Bok Nyeo was really good to the children as a housekeeper, but isn't she someone dangerous to have as the children's mom? Aunt says that she already told all this to Bok Nyeo and she thought Bok Nyeo understood, but Bok Nyeo still agreed to be their mom. That's why Aunt is thinking of going away through her marriage. Sang Chul doesn’t know what to say.

Bok Nyeo is being a Nazi over Se Gyul’s homework. Han Gyul arrives and Bok Nyeo asks why she’s late. Han Gyul says that she was at band practice. Bok Nyeo announces that she’s going to lengthen Han Gyul’s skirt, so that it fits the uniform standards. Han Gyul isn’t happy. everyone wears it like this. Sang Chul arrives to hear Bok Nyeo ask Han Gyul why she wants Bok Nyeo to be her mother? Did Han Gyul need a mom for $15 per hour? Then how much per hour is it for someone to press and supervise her to study and to stay up late together? How about the rate for nagging her to be home early or not to be a picky eater or to mind your manners? Or, in the morning, while washing the rice, praying that she'll eat it and be healthy? Bok Nyeo declares that a mom is not a housekeeper, so what Han Gyul wanted wasn't a mom, but someone who'll only say nice words and do as you say. Sang Chul doesn’t like seeing his kids upset.

Bok Nyeo is leaving for the day. Sang Chul is waiting outside to talk to her. He’s not happy. She asks ‘Yeobo’ why he’s like that. He asks if she’s trying to show them something. She asks what he means. He points out how, ever since she became the mom, she’s been really hard on the children. Is she doing it to look bad on purpose? Sang Chul mentions that she heard what Aunt said. Is Bok Nyeo being like this because of that? Bok Nyeo’s answer? To asks who Sister-in-law is, since she doesn't have a younger sister. Woo Na Young isn’t his sister-in-law anymore. Sang Chul starts to reply but Bok Nyeo tells him that from now on, she hopes there's no further connection between him and his late wife's family. He wanted to accept her as his real wife.

Bok Nyeo starts to walk away. Sang Chul tells her to hold on. He asks if she doesn’t have something to show him, so that she doesn't have to become their mom? He asks if she’s saying that the offer to become their mom is meaningless? Bok Nyeo replies that if Sang Chul doesn't like her, he can cancel it too. She hasn't submitted the marriage registration yet. Sang Chul blinks, flabbergast.

Dong Shik is at the sporting goods store. He finds what he’s looking for and tells Aunt to charge it. She asks him if he knows how to use it. He doesn’t. Aunt asks why he’s buying it then. Dong Shik asks her if she knows her fiancé’s birthday? Blood type? His first love? Any of his friends? Has she been to that man's house? Aunt doesn’t want to answer, so she says that she has to go look at her wedding dress.

Gyul House. Phone rings. Bok Nyeo answers and it’s Grandpa. Grandpa declares that he has something to tell Bok Nyeo. It’s about Aunt’s situation. And Sang Chul needs to come. Bok Nyeo says she understands. Bok Nyeo thinks about what Aunt said. Please don’t tell me that Aunt and Sang Chul are going to end up together. Blech.

At Grandpa’s he tells them that Aunt has set her wedding date. Grandpa asks them if Aunt said anything, about why she’s acting like this. Grandpa says that Aunt got weird when they started talking about getting married. Do they know anything? Bok Nyeo and Sang Chul look at each other but Bok Nyeo says that there’s nothing. Grandpa wonders if it’s because he and Director Hong are getting closer. Sang Chul doesn’t think it’s like that. Bok Nyeo says that she’ll go talk to Aunt.

On the way there, Sang Chul asks Bok Nyeo what she’s going to say to Aunt. Is she going to stop the wedding? Bok Nyeo declares that she will reverse what happened because of her. She will turn it back. What does that mean?

Han Gyul is looking at her phone and realizes that she forgot Oma’s birthday. She apologizes to Oma’s picture.

Bok Nyeo asks Sang Chul if he’ll wait for her. She wants to talk to Aunt first. Inside, Aunt is dressed in her wedding dress and trying to breathe deeply. She looks queasy. Bok Nyeo enters. Aunt asks why Bok Nyeo’s there. Bok Nyeo asks if Aunt is really going to get married? Aunt says that his qualifications are acceptable. He's someone who doesn't mind my mistakes. Aunt declares that she finally met her destiny. Bok Nyeo responds saying that Aunt doesn't look very happy about it.

Aunt replies that from now on, she’s not going to engage in useless smiling. She’s going to live like Bok Nyeo, without any emotions. She won’t care what ever happens to the children. And Bok Nyeo is free to forget what Aunt said before. Bok Nyeo asks if this is really what Aunt wants. Aunt says that it is. Bok Nyeo replies that Aunt will need to excuse her for a moment. Then she steps forward and slaps Aunt across the face. Aunt asks what she’s doing. Bok Nyeo slaps her again. Aunt asks why Bok Nyeo’s being like this. Bok Nyeo slaps her again. And again. Finally Aunt grabs Bok Nyeo’s arm, so Bok Nyeo shoves Aunt to the ground. Aunt glares up at Bok Nyeo and says that if Bok Nyeo doesn’t stop, she’s going to get really angry. Aunt stands up and Bok Nyeo goes to slap her again. Aunt blocks it and grabs Bok Nyeo by her jacket, yelling at Bok Nyeo that she said to stop! Sang Chul arrives to hear that last part.

Thoughts

Wow, one more episode to go and I have no idea where the writer is going with this. Bok Nyeo seems to have gone off the rails. Sang Chul sees through her, but she’s not going to let it go. The kids don’t understand, so they’re hurting.

And evil Old Bat! Wow. What a witch. That’s someone who is really going to suffer in the afterlife.

I wonder what Bok Nyeo’s rationale is with Aunt right now. I hope they’re not angling to put Aunt and Sang Chul together. For most of the show, I’ve found Aunt really annoying and I really don’t want that to happen. Besides, Bok Nyeo’s supposed to end up with Sang Chul. That’s what would make things good. She’d have a family again, with children that she loves and who love her back.

And they also need to tie up Grandpa and Director Hong. Aunt and Dong Shik, who I think should end up together. And Song Hwa is supposed to go work for Habitat for Humanity. How are they going to do that in an hour?
