Suspicious Housekeeper Episode 18 Recap

The episode starts with Ji Hoon discovering the camera, a horrified look on his face. Bok Nyeo arrives downstairs. Sang Chul sees the video she took and he knows she’s inside. Sang Chul immediately sends the video to Song Hwa. He tells her to hand the video over to the police immediately. Song Hwa asks if Bok Nyeo is okay, but he’s not sure. He’s going to go find out. Go Sang Chul! Save your woman.

After watching the video, Song Hwa approaches the detective that she had been talking to at the station. She says that she doesn't have to wait for Detective Lee Tae Sik. She asks that he be arrested immediately instead. Then she shows the guy the video. Cop looks like he’s shocked at what it shows.

Tae Shik is looking at the ladder to the second story. He gets a phone call. Busted! His life is over. And I think he’s looking for payback. Inside, Ji Hoon is clarifying Bok Nyeo’s feelings: It's not that she liked him, it’s so she could get the goods on him? She tells him that he’s correct. She played for it… the way to prove that he’s Seo Ji Hoon… the way to finish him off. Tae Shik hurries inside and tells Ji Hoon that there’s a big problem. Song Hwa has handed over the evidence and the police coming!

Tae Shik declares that this time, there is no way out other than for Ji Hoon to turn himself in. Given the look on jihoon’s face, I think the crazy is about to come out and say, ‘Oh, yeah? Watch me!’ He tells Tae Shik to take Bok Nyeo outside so he can think. As Tae Shik turns his back on him, Ji Hoon grabs an empty wine bottle and then smashes it over Tae Shik’s head. Tae Shik crumples to the floor. Is he dead or justs unconscious? Bok Nyeo turns around, startled. Ji Hoon’s look is murderous. Plus, he’s holding the neck of a broken wine bottle.

Sang Chul arrives at the house and finds the unconscious Tae Shik, but no Bok Nyeo.

Ji Hoon has taken her someplace and tied her up. All that spare gasoline, he’s pouring all over. Once he’s done, he starts the fire and then takes a seat across from Bok Nyeo. He tells her that now, it's her turn to be interrogated. Her liking him was all a show, right? Telling him that she didn't want to lose him, it was in order to catch him, right? Not even once, did she ever like him? He doesn’t look so murderous right now, just damaged and upset. Not even for a moment?

Bok Nyeo says that she never liked him, not even once. He takes that in and declares that it’s a relief. It makes his heart hurt less. Since she’s never liked him, taking her with him will be okay. Ji Hoon looks at the fire and wondering if dying in a fire like her husband and son was part of her wish. Having someone take your life. I’m really surprised with everything in there, plus the gasoline, that it isn’t burning faster. Or at least that they’d be coughing from the smoke.

Bok Nyeo tells him to turn himself in. Ji Hoon replies that he didn't come all this way to do that. He doesn't have a reason to cling to life. He returned because he has nothing more to lose and so he could spend his last moments with her. If he wasn’t a sick, twisted psychopath, I just might feel sorry for him right now, because that’s pretty sad. He says that if he can take her with him like this, he will have succeeded half-way. So… he doesn’t have any regrets.

Ji Hoon stands and, as a tear rolls down his cheek, he tells her that they should leave together. Bok Nyeo replies that even if she dies like this, she’s not going with him. She’s going to the people who she loved. And he’s going to hell. He chuckles and says that even to the very end, she can’t be kind. Couldn’t she at least say some warm and comforting words like what she used while tutoring him? She might be remotely inclined if you weren’t trying to kill her right now.

Bok Nyeo tells Ji Hoon that back then, he was so pitiful. That hurts him. But, now knowing what kind of a bastard he is, there is nothing left in her but anger and wrath. She says that she might relent if he repents and accept his punishment. He declares that he just can't do that. He doesn't need compassion that is without love. That’s why he’ll have to take her with him when he dies. He’s angry now and her eyes are glistening. He asks her why she couldn’t have just believed that he was Jang Do Hyung. They could have started over again, so perfectly. He starts asking why, and angrily throws a chair.

Bok Nyeo replies that it’s because he’s Seo Ji Hoon. The one who killed her family! Murderer!!! She's practically screaming at him. He gets her in face and says that he just wanted to see her smile again. A tear rolls down her cheek. Tearfully, pathetically, he asks if even just once, can it be aimed toward him? Was that a mistake, too? I guess he means in the past. Bok Nyeo tells him that his love is a sin. It's an obsession because it's nothing but his desire. Other than her hatred, she has nothing for him.

Her words hurt him. He grabs her and says that he was obsessed because he loved her! Because he loved her, he desired her! He starts shaking her and saying that it's all her fault. She’s the one who was bad!!! Bok Nyeo calmly says that people like him are always blaming others. He stands up and turns away from her.

Sang Chul hurries out from the house. Does he see the fire?

As the place burns, Bok Nyeo starts to hear her son, crying out for her to save him. How gut wrenching! Will Ji Hoon hear it too? She cries. Ji Hoon’s got his crazy eyes on, stare talking. Ji Hoon tells her just to tell him that she loves him even just a little bit. Even though she loved him, she had no choice. If she says at least that, it might be lonely but he will go alone. He’s asking her to give him what he wants so that he can save her. His brain!

Bok Nyeo says that she’s not afraid of dying. But... him not being able to be prosecuted, dying futilely like this, it’s such a waste. He needs to be alive to be prosecuted. So he can be tormented with regret for what he’s done for the rest of his miserable life! More tears are falling from Ji Hoon’s eyes. He asks her to go with him, before it’s too late. The he turns around and picks up a burning stick. She waits for him to strike her. But Sang Chul arrives!

Struggle in the burning building. Police and emergency vehicles are coming. Ji Hoon whacks Sang Chul with the stick and he goes down. Ji Hoon staggers toward Bok Nyeo. She closes her eyes and waits for the end. Sang Chul’s no out, though. He comes up behind Ji Hoon and clubs him with another stick. Ji Hoon goes down. Sang Chul quickly unties her, but she’s passed out. He grabs her and pulls her onto his back to carry her out of there.

As Sang Chul walks by Ji Hoon, Ji Hoon grabs his leg, yelling for Eun Soo not to go! Part of the burning ceiling collapses, landing on his legs, so Ji Hoon lets go. Sang Chul runs out of the burning shed. He yells at the firemen that someone is inside. Tae Shik is arrested and walked to the police car in handcuffs. Bok Nyeo is rushed to the hospital, with Sang Chul riding with her.

Aunt leaves her house to take out the trash. Dong Shik is hanging outside her house. She isn’t expecting it, so she screams. Then she asks what he’s doing there. Reasonable question. He says that he’s in the middle of keeping a watch. Aw. Sweet. He knows what’s going on. She asks him if he’s a stalker now? And what about when Grandpa sees him. She wants him to leave but he says that he can't because he’s worried. Aunt sighs and says she knows that he thinks she’s so cute. He smiles and says that hes there at Sang Chul’s request, to watch over the kids, no matter what. and make sure they don't take a step outside of this house.

Aunt sighs and asks how long Dong Shik is planning on sticking around. She can't even contact Sang Chul; could something have happened? Dong Shik’s wondering, too. He looks at Aunt and asks if she’s planning on inviting him inside. Dork. But a sweet dork. As they go inside, the kids (minus Han Gyul) are dressed in their coats and frantically getting their shoes on. Se Gyul sputters that Appa.. Appa… Hye Gyul finishes his sentence: Appa and Bok Nyeo-nim got hurt! Grandpa and Director Hong are there to confirm that they got hurt. Shocked reactions!

Han Gyul is calling Aunt. She says that they did well on the audition. Then she gets the news. Her voice gets the attention of Soo Hyuk, Woo Jae and Mr. and Mrs. Butcher. They all hurry to the hospital.

Grandpa and his group arrive at the hospital. Director Hong desperately wants to know if Bok Nyeo is all right. He says that since she inhaled too much smoke, she's still unconscious. Director Hong practically collapses. Grandpa tells her not to worry. God is not that irresponsible. He won't be taking Bok Nyeo-nim. Aw. A crying Hye Gyul asks if Bok Nyeo is going to die because of she said she hates Bok Nyeo? Mom too, died because she said she hated Mom. Wow, that’s a lot of guilt to be carrying around. Doo Gyul asks what happened to Ji Hoon. Sang Chul says that Ji Hoon’s been admitted to the hospital, but he doesn't know the results yet. Yay, he didn’t die.

The family puts on scrubs and goes in to see Bok Nyeo. She has a breathing tube stuck down her throat. Which seems a little excessive, since she can breathe on her own. Han Gyul holds Bok Nyeo’s hand and tells her to hurry and wake up so they can sew together. She promises to use the chopsticks properly now and when she eats, she won't play with her dolls anymore. She takes back about saying that she hates Bok Nyeo. And my eyes are getting a little misty. Han Gyul begs Bok Nyeo to hurry and wake up.

The other kids chime in with why Bok Nyeo should wake up: they still have so many things they want to do with her, so many things to learn from her. Doo Gyul says that she needs to teach him personally to cook instead of leaving behind recipes. Han Gyul asks her not to leave, like their mom did. She’s not going to, right? Bok Nyeo sleeps on.

Doo Gyul is cooking. Tada! Bok Nyeo-nim's soybean stew. The other kids are amazed. Sang Chul asks if it’s hard making breakfast. He mentions getting a new housekeeper. In unison, the kids tells Sang Chul “No!!!!” Sang Chul laughs. Hye Gyul says that she’s good at using the chopsticks now. When Bok Nyeo-nim comes back, she’s going to ask Bok Nyeo to praise her. Although, I still think she’s not holding them correctly. Se Gyul says that he’ll get praised for winning an award from the competition. Doo Gyul can’t wait to show her how he cooks.

At work, Sang Chul tells the group that there are going to be a lot of things to get through but he has good news. Grandpa liked their project and has said that he'd help out if they need it. Everyone is excited. Song Hwa smiles and declares that it’s a relief. She thought the China Town was going to get buried. She asks when Bok Nyeo is going to get discharged.

Band practice. Soo Hyuk gets a call. From the sound of it, Han Gyul gets worried. When Soo Hyuk hangs up, she asks if his father caused trouble again. Soo Hyuk replies that they all got into trouble. Woo Jae snaps at Soo Hyuk to stop going around in circles and hurry up and say it! They… Soo Hyuk can’t help but smile as he tells them they passed the first audition!

Next audition. They dedicate the song to Bok Nyeo. I do really like the song, it’s sweet.

♫ A clumsy first love is about to start ♫
♫ It's so hard to do when I want to do well ♫
♫ It hurts, I don't know why it hurts but it does ♫
♫ My heart keeps pounding ♫
♫ All day, I suddenly start to laugh ♫
♫ You make me forget my painful memories ♫
♫ Even though I try to hold it in, my tears keep coming ♫
♫ I think it's because I'm so thankful for you ♫

Nice little solo from Soo Hyuk at the end.

The kids don’t end up making it. The producers try to cheer them up. They did well and can do well next time. Soo Hyuk says that since they did our best, there's no reason to feel regret. Han Gyul worries what Soo Hyuk’s going to do now. He’s not sure. But then the CEO of Popo Management, Song Dong Won, comes out and hands Soo Hyuk a business card. It looks a little awkward. He asks Soo Hyuk if they can talk for a moment.

Han Gyul and Woo Jae wait for Soo Hyuk to get out of the meeting. Han Gyul hopes that things turn out well for Sunbae Seo Hyuk. Woo Jae’s not in the mood. He snaps at her, asking if things go well for Soo Hyuk, does that make her happy? Does she think it will make him look at her (like her)? Aw, poor Woo Jae. His hair is looking crazy today. Han Gyul says that it’s enough that Soo Hyuk does well. She doesn't want to think of that other part. Woo Jae mutters that she’s aggravating.

Soo Hyuk emerges and announces that he’s going to turn them down. They said he had to come with his parents. His dad… they don't even have to see what he's going to do, they already know what he’d do. Yeah, the guy has no problem pimping out his son. That would be scary. The kids hate that Soo Hyuk’s going to miss this opportunity. There’s a pause and then Woo Jae asks if he should lend Soo Hyuk Mr. Butcher.

Mr. Nosy is at work and Writer Kwon says that Mrs. Nosy has good sense. Mr. Nosy asks if Mrs. Nosy is bothering her. Writer Kwon says that it’s not that. The advice she took from Bok Nyeo, it’s become a hit item. She hands Mr. Nosy what she’s talking about. He's surprised. But then, he hasn’t been home. Writer Kwon asks if he got kicked out. He protests that he left on his own feet. Writer Kwon gives him a jab about how Mrs. Nosy is getting much better press than he is. He declares that he agreed to get a divorce, to give her almost everything he has and leaving her. Writer Kwon tells him congratulations. He asks if their relationship is back on. She says that it will depend on the situation next week. Mr. Nosy asks what situation.

Next thing we see is Mr. Nosy doing a report on the Sungbook-dong Murder Case (Bok Nyeo’s family’s case). 2008 December 25nd. Mrs. Nosy is getting meat at the butchers and glares at her soon-to-be-ex-husband. He says that The wife's acquaintance, Seo Ji Hoon was the suspect in the fire that killed the husband and son. He was thought to be dead, but after all these years, he turned and appeared in front of her face. Mrs. Butcher mutters with exasperation and tells Mr. Butcher that she can kind of understand why he was "Bok Nyeo-Nim, Bok Nyeo-Nim." Bok Nyeo’s kind of amazing. Mr. Butcher says that there's someone else who noticed Seo Ji Hoon, too, him! He told her that the guy gave off a strange aura! Mrs. Butcher praises her husband for being so wonderful. Mrs. Nosy sighs and says that Bok Nyeo won't have any hate because she finally found the suspect in her husband and son's case. Mr. Butcher declares that they really need to make people like that pay up to their deeds.

Mr. Nosy reports that Bok Nyeo – under the name of Miss P – exposed Seo Ji Hoon’s alias of Jang Do Hyung. Director Hong and Grandpa are watching, too. Grandpa wants to know what happened to Ji Hoon. Did he live or die?

Ji Hoon in prison. He remembers what Bok Nyeo said. Death doesn’t scare her. Him escaping prosecution and just dying without punishment scares her.

Aunt tells Grandpa that she’s leaving to buy the kids food. He stops her and asks what’s going on with Bok Nyeo. Aunt isn’t sure. Grandpa tells her to tell that mug face (Sang Chul) not to be slow about things and grab a hold of her! Aunt sighs. He asks why she’s being like that? She asks if Grandpa likes Bok Nyeo. He replies that he’s not the one that’s going to be living with her, so it doesn't really matter. Besides, he’s just thinking of the kids. Autn says that she has a feeling that Bok Nyeo won't come back to the kids.

The kids are going to see Bok Nyeo. Hye Gyul’s bringing the rock box and Bok Nyeo’s rock. She’s going to ask Bok Nyeo to live with them from now on. They arrive at the hospital to discover that Bok Nyeo has been discharged. They call Sang Chul to say that she’s not there.

Bok Nyeo as gone to the amusement park. She has that meal she always orders. She sadly looks at the picture of her family. Bok Nyeo thinks of them and tells them that she misses them so much. It’s such a good picture. They look so happy (including Bok Nyeo).

Bok Nyeo meets Song Hwa. Bok Nyeo thanks Song Hwa for helping by going to the police station. Song Hwa replies that she was scared. But thanks to Bok Nyeo, she doesn’t think she'll have anything fear anymore. Bok Nyeo mentioned how Song Hwa was going to go do Habitat for Humanity. Song Hwa says that she’ll leave to do that, once things with Gatsby Investments settle down.

Song Hwa says that she has a question for Bok Nyeo. It's difficult to say it…. The place of the kids’ mom, can't she ask Bok Nyeo to do it? Since she can't do it... If it's Bok Nyeo, Song Hwa says that she can be relieved and leave. Aw, Song Hwa really did become human. Good girl. Song Hwa apologizes for asking. She just wants Sang Chul to be okay. Bok Nyeo says that she’s afraid. That she will love those people and because of that, because they’re people she loves, that she will cause them misery again. Song Hwa asks her not to worry about that. After all, Seo Ji Hoon has been arrested, and there's no one left to harass you. Well, there’s one person. An evil old bat. I wonder what she’s thinking about the fact that her detective was working with Ji Hoon all this time. I notice that she hasn’t apologized to Bok Nyeo. Why? Because she’s a nasty, evil, old bat. Song Hwa tells Bok Nyeo that purposely avoiding happiness is what's causing misery. So she should do as her heart says.

Sang Chul enters the restaurant. Song Hwa says that she told him to come, because Bok Nyeo would be there. She leaves and Sang Chul takes her seat. They have some small talk – their health, his job… Bok Nyeo says that she caused a lot of trouble for a lot of things. He responds by saying that the children have been waiting for her a long time. As he talks about each of them, he has a small smile on his face. You’ve come a long way, Sang Chul. Han Gyul mentioned Bok Nyeo during her audition. Doo Gyul is looking for a culinary school. Se Gyul is waiting for her praise for getting his competition prize. And Hye Gyul, every time the door bell rings, she the first one to run to the door, saying that it could be her. He asks if she knows what her plans are for the future.

Sang Chul arrives home. The kids are waiting for news of Bok Nyeo. Did he find her? Is she in good health? They ask if she’s coming back. She’s not. Han Gyul wants to know what Appa said to her. Doo Gyul says that Sang Chul should have brought her back somehow. Sang Chul tells them he understands how they feel, but she couldn’t ask her to do that, after going through everything that she’d been through. Hye Gyul declares that she can’t live without Bok Nyeo-nim. The other kids agree.

Bok Nyeo still sits in the café. She’s thinking of the nasty old bat. Old Bat arrives. She wants to know what Bok Nyeo wants. Did Bok Nyeo ask her to come so she could apologize? I think you should. Old Bat says that she was deceived by that detective, too, so Bok Nyeo shouldn’t be hateful about that. And how you hounded her all these years so that she would be miserable? That wasn’t the detective’s fault. Old Bat asks if Bok Nyeo’s contacted her to try and get back what her husband left behind. Wow. This woman is obnoxious.

Bok Nyeo finally says something. She didn’t ask to see EMIL about the money. She just asks if Old Bat will tell her the place where her husband and son are buried. Wow, that makes me cry. All these years, she was never able to go visit them because of this witch. Old Bat purses her lips.

The kids have gone to see Director Hong. They’ve tried finding Bok Nyeo at the amusement park, but she hasn't shown up. Director Hong is puzzled, since Bok Nyeo always goes there during her break. Director Hong isn’t sure where Bok Nyeo is going. Se Gyul asks if Director Hong knows Old Bat. He figures that since the case was over, they would've met at least once, to apologize. Director Hong replies that Old Bat isn’t a person to apologize. The kids can’t believe that she wouldn’t apologize. Director Hong sighs and says that what she knows of Old Bat, she would've died by biting on her tongue but she would never apologize to Bok Nyeo. Hye Gyul doesn’t understand that. Her teacher said that if you know that you did wrong, you're supposed to apologize.

Director Hong says that Old Bat will always get what she needs to get, but will never give what she needs to give. As Director Hong talks, she also starts to silently cry. Old Bat is famous for her money playing. If you owed her money, you owed 10 times, 100 times more later on, but the money that she borrows, will be the same as time passes. The kids don’t understand. Director Hong explains that after Bok Nyeo’s her husband and son died, the Insurance Company tried to give Bok Nyeo the insurance policy money, but Old Bat took it instead. Bok Nyeo saus that she didn't need the money, she would give it to Old Bat if Old Bat would just tell her where her husband and son's burial was at. As soon as Old Bat broke her promise. She screamed at Bok Nyeo if someone like Bok Nyeo even had the qualifications to deserve to know. Wow. This woman is even nastier than I thought. Stealing life insurance. There’s a special place in hell reserved for her, definitely.

The kids get why Bok Nyeo goes to the amusement park: because she doesn’t know where her husband and son are buried. Doo Gyul is amazed. He declares Old Bat really too much! Hye Gyul declares that that grandma is bad. Se Gyul asks if Director Hong knows where Old Bat lives. \She does.

The kids arrive at Old Bat’s house. Old Bat arrives home. Old Bat looks a little uncomfortable to see them. Han Gyul politely if Old Bat remembers them. She asks if Bok Nyeo came there, perhaps? Old Bat asks why they care. Han Gyul says that since they haven't seen Bok Nyeo-nim, they're worried and were hoping that Old Bat might know where Bok Nyeo’s living. Old Bat declares that she doesn’t. She tries to go inside. Han Gyul asks her to wait. She asks if Old Bat has heard the news about Ji Hoon. Old Bat’s answer? “So?” Han Gyul asks if Old Bat has apologized. Old Bat doesn’t answer. Se Gyul tells her to at least take back those words, that Bok Nyeo shouldn’t until she dies. Old Bat asks if she said those words. Like she doesn’t remember. Doo Gyul says that she did… Right in front of them! So it was more than once, woman! Old Bat says that she doesn't remember it. Han Gyul asks Old Bat if she really can't remember, or is she just pretending that she doesn't remember. Old Bat wants to know they care. Wasn't she just their housekeeper?

After they leave, Han Gyul tells Aunt and Grandpa all about it. Aunt can’t believe Old Bat. Aunt can’t believe that someone who says words like "don't ever smile again!" would forget. Grandpa says he can understand that she puts her son and grandson's pain ahead but still, she should at least admit to it! Aunt agrees. It's not adult-like. Grandpa declares that it’s enough. In problems like this, adults need to get involved. He’s thinking hard. You can go over and rebuke her, Grandpa! You’re her elder, most likely! She deserves to get a piece of your mind. Not that it would change her, though. Someone like that isn’t going to change. Aunt asks if Han Gyul still hasn’t heard anything from Ms. Bok Nyeo. Han Gyul says that she’s worried and doesn't know what to do about it.

Bok Nyeo is at the mausoleum where her husband and son are interred. She apologizes to them for coming so late. And she’s making me cry. Bok Nyeo cries. She apologizes for it taking so long. As she touches the glass, she starts to bitterly sob. She sinks to the floor as she sobs.

Old Bat has been summoned to Happy Company. Old Bat wants to know how they know Bok Nyeo. Director Hong says that she’s someone who raised Bok Nyeo. Old Bat answers that she understood that Bok Nyeo didn’t have a mother. Neither Director Hong nor Grandpa are looking at Old Bat. Especially gp, who is sitting across from Old Bat. He’s wearing a frown. Director Hong explains that she was Bok Nyeo’s housekeeper when Bok Nyeo was little. Old Bat chuckles and says that she was wondering where the relative came from. Uh, I really don’t like this woman. Her expression doesn’t change.

Old Bat asks who Grandpa is. He finally looks at her, his face full of scorn. He says that he’s the kids grandfather. He declares that from what the kids have said, Old Bat seems not to have any conscience. "Don't smile." "Follow the dead." She says all these hateful things and then she says that she forgot? Old Bat says that she was mad, what could she not have said? Director Hong glares at her for that one. I agree. You might say something in anger, but you should go back and apologize. Old Bat wants to know what they want her to do about it.

Grandpa isn’t going to let Old Bat off that easy. He tells her that they need to finish going through what she’s done. She has to at least feel a bit sorry for her. If she’s human. Director Hong strongly nods her agreekment. Grandpa tells Old Bat to meet with Bok Nyeo and say that she cancels everything she’s said. And to live well. Grandpa says that he’s just asking her to say one proper thing! Old Bat asks why she should do that?

Director Hong’s mouth drops open. Grandpa is just as offended. He calls Old Bat “This person.” He declares that she should at least apologize for accusing a poor, innocent person of being a murderer! Old Bat doesn’t understand why they’re being like that. It’s not like they’re family. She stops and laughs bitterly. Then she asks if they’re planning on Bok Nyeo the kids’ mother. Grandpa asks if it’s against the law. If Bok Nyeo says yes, he’s going to approve.

Old Bat declares that Bok Nyeo brings misfortune to everyone around her. Director Hong looks at Old Bat appalled. Bok Nyeo’s father, her son and her grandson. They're all dead because of her. Director Hong is even more disgusted. And so am I. This woman is unrepentant. None of those people are dead because of her. Old Bat declares that it’s Bok Nyeo’s fault, too, for how she’s acted. She wouldn't have been such an evil person, if she didn't accept Bok Nyeo as her daughter-in-law. Wow. That’s someone who’s evil. Wow. Old Bat tells them that it would be wise if they didn’t even consider it.

Director Hong isn’t going to hold her tongue any longer. She yells at Old Bat that Old Bat put a big nail in Bok Nyeo’s heart and made Bok Nyeo live like she wasn't alive nor dead. Bok Nyeo went through even worse, she risked her life to prove the case and Old Bat isn’t even sorry? Director Hong declares that there can't be such a bad person than you. Grandpa tells her to calm down. if she keeps going, she might faint! Director Hong yells at him to keep out of it! Director Hong says that if Old Bat is going to be like that, she need to give Bok Nyeo the insurance money.

Old Bat asks if that’s why they wanted to meet? To tell her to give Bok Nyeo the insurance money? Director Hong says it was. That money was for Bok Nyeo but she took it! She needs to give up the money right now! Old Bat sighs and purses her lips. Director Hong tells Old Bat to do it, or Grandpa will hire a lawyer. She corrects herself. He’s a Chairman of a company. He already retains a lawyer, right? Of course they do. Grandpa chuckles and says that they should prepare for the lawsuit immediately. Old Bat can’t believe that Grandpa would do that.

Grandpa is at work, taking a nap. The phone rings. It’s Old Bat. He immediately cuts to the chase. What’s it going to be? An apology or the insurance money?

Bok Nyeo is walking. We hear Director Hong tell her that she has good news! Old Bat is going to apologize to her. Of course she is. She’s greedy and evil.

The kids hurry down the stairs in their coats. They tells Han Gyul that they all have to go to Happiness Agency. Bok Nyeo-nim is coming, and Old Bat is coming to apologize!

At Happy Company, Director Hong asks why Bok Nyeo’s face looking like that? She passes Bok Nyeo her favorite treat, the one that makes her talk. Director Hong declares that since Bok Nyeo caught Seo Ji Hoon, she has to live well now, so that he will die in jail, being jealous. Send him postcards. Heh. Bok Nyeo sighs. Sang Chul enters. Bok Nyeo’s surprised to see her. He looks a little nervous, too. Director Hong says that she told everyone to come. Everyone needs to hear that Old Bat apologize. If Bok Nyeo has strong support, then all the words that Bok Nyeo’s wanted to say, she’ll be able to say them with no worries. Sang Chul asks if she’s been well. Bok Nyeo says that she has.

Old Bat enters, without knocking. Bok Nyeo stands respectfully and bows. Old Bat says that she thought Bok Nyeo was a loner with no relatives, but many people have come and bothered her. Wow, as obnoxious as ever. Bok Nyeo looks surprised that people would do that for her. Director Hong gives Old Bat a glare. Old Bat says that they yelled at her to give Bok Nyeo the insurance money back. Old Bat declares that it's stuff like that, she can give it to Bok Nyeo with no problem. If she wants it.

Bok Nyeo replies that it’s okay. Old Bat agrees. Bok Nyeo wasn’t that rock bottom. Director Hong can’t believe this woman. Neither can I. Grandpa and the kids arrive. Old Bat tells Bok Nyeo that she must have been really sad all that time. How much would Bok Nyeo have wanted to show her? Her innocence. Old Bat apologizes for saying that Bok Nyeo was the murderer. She was also fooled so she believes Bok Nyeo would understand. Old Bat takes back all the things said. That Bok Nyeo should never smile until her dying day. That Bok Nyeo should follow her son and grandson to the grave.

The kids smile. Director Hong claps her hands and declares that it was a lovely sight to take in!! This is why our Ms. Bok Nyeo worked so hard to reveal who Seo Ji Hoon that jerk was. Bok Nyeo looks at Old Bat and her eyes are misty. Old Bat isn’t finished. She says that instead, she has one request. Director Hong stops smiling. Because she knows what a witch Old Bat is. Old Bat tells Bok Nyeo to make a promise that she will never make a new family. Wow, this woman. I didn’t think she could get nastier, but she can. And she dressed it up so nicely too. Before shooting at Bok Nyeo’s heart. Old Bat wants Bok Nyeo to never become someone else’s mother and wife in this life time. Having her husband and son in that cold place, how would she be able to live warmly (happily) alone? No one else can believe this woman. Bok Nyeo actually looks like she’s considering it. The kids look worried. So does Sang Chul.

Old Bat tells Bok Nyeo that she’s not completely blameless for her husband and son's death. She knows it. And I would stop her right there. I definitely get up in her face, but I might just slap her, and I don’t slap anyone. This woman. Evil to the bitter end. Old Bat declares that those children, their father, and grandfather all think of Bok Nyeo as part of the family. She wouldn't be thinking the same thing, is she? Old Bat says that she asked to see Bok Nyeo so that she could apologize and confirm that fact. Why isn’t anyone stopping this awful woman? Old Bat says that she’s curious to see what Bok Nyeo’s answer will be. Sang Chul starts to say something, but Old Bat says that she’ll leave Bok Nyeo’s to answer to her conscience.

Old Bat turns to leave, but Grandpa gets up in her face. He asks what Old Bat’s game is. Old Bat answers that she never said for Bok Nyeo to live alone, only that she leave it to Bok Nyeo’s conscience. Grandpa yells that it’s the same thing. Old Bat isn’t budging. Sang Chul tells Old Bat that she’s going too far. Bok Nyeo has barely started to live again and Old Bat is telling her that she should never make a family. She’s putting the shackles on Bok Nyeo again? Old Bat replies, looking directly at Bok Nyeo, that if Bok Nyeo had loved her son and grandson, she’s sure that Bok Nyeo would put the shackles on herself. Bok Nyeo has tears in her eyes. Old Bat leaves.

The kids go home and sink onto the couch. Doo Gyul is pissed. He declares that there's no answer for that grandma. There's no way to deal with her. Se Gyul asks how she could be like that? She was supposed to be there to apologize but instead she left Bok Nyeo with even more burden. They worry if they just made it harder on Bok Nyeo.

At Happy Company, Director Hong is crying. The treat sits uneaten on the table. She tells Grandpa that compared to that Mother-in-law, his twisted nature is nothing! Grandpa mutters why Director Hong has to bring him in to it. Director Hong worries how Bok Nyeo is doing.

Sang Chul pulls the Marriage Registration paperwork out of his desk and looks at it. He thinks of when Bok Nyeo presented it to him and then how evil Old Bat is. Han Gyul comes in and asks what he’s doing. He says he was thinking about what to do about Bok Nyeo. Han Gyul says that when she thinks about Old Bat, she can't sleep either. She tells Sang Chul that after he talked about Mom in the hospital, they’ve decided not to push him and Bok Nyeo-nim together. They’ll support whatever decision he makes and cheer him on.

Sang Chul is at at café with Song Hwa. She asks why he has to be the one responsible for Bok Nyeo. He takes that as her not thinking he can do it. She stops him and tells him that Bok Nyeo should be responsible for him and his children. She has their hearts and he risked his life to protect Bok Nyeo. It's naturally Bok Nyeo's turn to protect Sang Chul. Song Hwa tells him that Bok Nyeo that he would make her happy won't work on Bok Nyeo because she's a person who thinks she must not become happy. Saying to forget the past won't work either. To forget, it was too harsh and painful. Sang Chul considers what she’s said.

He meets Bok Nyeo in a park. He tells her that he wondered whether it may not be love. But no matter how much he thinks about it, he doesn't think that it is. Neither of them is in a situation right now to love someone. He wonders why. But, I f it's not love or family, why would he worry about her? Why would his children look for her so desperately? He says that he’s realized that the reason why she became a housekeeper was so that she would live as someone else wanted, doing what they want instead of what she wants. He tells her she doesn’t need to return as their housekeeper if she’s like that. But, she MUST return to them. Out of her own volition.

He asks her to please return to them. As the children's mother. As his wife. Aw. That was kind of sweet. She looks at him. He looks down and pulls out the marriage registration paperwork. He’s signed it and stamped it. They look at each other and the episode ends.

Thoughts

Hooray! It’s the end of Ji Hoon. Bok Nyeo was vindicated. But now she’s afraid to truly be happy. And the Old Bat is just evil. I read a book, ‘People of the Lie’ by M. Scott Peck, where it talks about human evil. Evil people never take responsibility for their wrongs. They constantly shift blame to others and they intentionally try to destroy someone’s spirit. If that doesn’t sound like Old Bat, I don’t know what does.

It’s nice to see Song Hwa be human and kind. She seems so much happier now. It’s why I stopped caller her That Woman, because she finally became human.

I think we’re moving closer to Woo Jae’s parents adopting Soo Hyuk, which would be nice since he needs good parents. I noticed that Soo Hyuk mentioned the Dad, but not his Mom. Would Mom tell Dad? I don’t think so. But I really think that she’s never around.

Aunt has seemed much less annoying this episode and I love that Grandpa chewed Old Bat out.

This episode feels like a lot happened in it, but nothing did.

It’s also nice to see Sang Chul being a confident man. And that he asked Bok Nyeo to marry him. Hopefully, she’ll say yes sooner than later.
