She Was Pretty Episode 14 Recap

Episode starts with Sung Joon and Hye Jin at the lake and him telling her that he’s going to propose once he’s successful. He releases her and says that to him, there's always the memory of feeling like he lost her. For fifteen years, he longed for her and he found her now after fifteen years. He doesn't want to lose her again. She sighs. Starting now, fifteen years, then another fifteen years, and again fifteen years after that. And if he’s granted even more time, then he wants to spend it all with her, too.

She sighs and he says that he seems to have startled her a lot. Yah. You’ve only just started dating and you’re talking about longing for her for 15 years and being together forever. He says that he’s also very nervous telling her all this. She chuckles a little. Since he was born, this is the first time he’s so sure about anything, so he wanted to let her know how he feels. No pressure! There is no reason for him to hesitate any longer. Then he does her hood and she tells him that she wants him to succeed. Which carries even more weight of ‘yes, I’ll marry you when you ask.’ And they kiss.

♫ Perhaps, because I didn't know love ♫
♫ I wasn't able to say a word ♫
♫ I was always by your side, watching over you ♫
♫ But you don't seem to know yet ♫

Shin Hyuk is in his hotel room, talking with Director Shin, confirming something on November 7. Director Shin asks if Reporter Kim is okay. It seemed like he caught Leonard Kim last time and then... So was that Director from before Leonard Kim? Was Shin Hyuk letting Sung Joon score the deal to help him look good?

Sung Joon returns to his office and looks at his desk. There’s a *text* from the personal manager of Leonard Kim. She’s sorry to tell him that the interview with The Most has been cancelled for unavoidable reasons. She’s sorry. Sung Joon understandably freaks out.

He calls immediately. It’s definitely cancelled. Sung Joon is understandably devastated.

Shin Hyuk is driving in his car. VO of Director Shin asks if Shin Hyuk didn't know that there is a speculation of a press release due to Leonard Kim being investigated for possible marijuana usage.

Shin Hyuk hurries into Sung Joon’s office, where Sung Joon is sitting, defeated. He asks if Sung Joon checked with Leonard Kim's side? What happened? Is it true? Woodenly, Sung Joon says that it'll be revealed to the press next week. It's impossible to carry out an interview. Shin Hyuk sighs and sits down on the couch with Sung Joon. There goes their chance to be number 1. Their final opportunity.

They have to break the news to the group. Joon Woo spells out for the viewer what it means: their main interview for 12 pages is now gone. They start to freak out, too. Holding TEN’s book, Poong Ho asks what kind of situation explodes like this? Joo Young isn’t about to give up. She asks why they don't interview Choi Min Jung, whose Hollywood debut has been confirmed. Choi Min Jung is a Korean short-track gold medalist. Sung Joon says that he already looked into it, but her schedule doesn't line up with theirs because of her overseas work schedule. They can’t have someone fly there and interview her and write the interview on the ride home?

Joon Woo suggests Go Sung Jin, the youngest New York collection designer, but Shin Hyuk says that they thought of that as well but that story is too weak. So, that's not the card they need right now. Seol wonders who would do it now, anyway, since they’d know they’re Leonard Kim’s replacement. Lee Kyung wonders if they’d publish the magazine without the feature interview. Everyone is discouraged.

Poong Ho looks at TEN’s book and asks about getting TEN. It's been revealed recently that this world-renowned anonymous author is Korean. And the newly published book, "Memory" is a huge hit. Where is there a hotter person than this? Would someone who's been hiding so well want to do an interview and even a photo shoot? Sung Joon says that if it's someone on the level of Ten, they don't need any photo shoot. At that level, there's a chance that the interview alone will make it a hot issue without a pictorial. It could be the card that we need the most rather than just some other top level person.

People start to get a little hopeful. Sung Joon says that he’s going to find out more from the publisher and tells them to look into candidates with high potential. Joo Young tells them to use all their personal connections and find replacement candidates and make contacts no matter what.

Ra Ra is listening upstairs. What is she wearing today? She truly is a fashionista. Ten, they say. Pensive Ra Ra.

The publisher says that he doesn't know any personal information. They also found out that he is Korean this time. Who says that TEN’s a he? Sung Joon asks how they communicate with Ten. The manuscript comes through email. All they do is the translating and publishing. He won’t disclose the email. Sung Joon asks about relaying the request via the email. Publisher tells him not to get his hopes up. He won't do it. Sung Joon leaves his card anyway.

Sung Joon runs into Hye Jin in the hallway coming back. Small talk and then she steps in front of him and leans in, smiling. He asks what she’s doing. I was wondering the same thing. Is she asking for a kiss? She says that he said he gets energized when he looks at her. Look to his heart's content. He can look at her for 100 seconds. She tells him not to worry too much. There will be a way. The 20th Anniversary special edition will be able to come out properly, right? Hye Jin is confident. Whose article is being published in the upcoming edition? Hers. They chuckle and then hold swinging hands.

In another hallway, Joon Woo confronts Seol on avoiding him. She pretends like she has no idea what he’s talking about. He lays it out: She hasn’t been picking up the phone throughout the weekend. These days she’s acting strange. She tells him they should reconsider the matter about dating each other. She did not. He’s shocked. She quickly retreats. If he is the Chairman’s son, she’s going to kick herself.

Ha Ri is walking home, seeing if Hye Jin can do dinner. She’s going to be late. Ha Ri’s a little disappointed. She looks up and Dad is standing there. Why is he there? They have coffee outside the house. Dad says that he heard that she quit working at the hotel. She did. She didn’t even tell Appa. Why? Did she get tired of it? If she’s tired of the hotel, should Appa look into another place for her? It annoys me that he calls himself ‘Appa’ when he so does not act like how a Daddy should act. She says that she did it because she’s curious as to what she can do on her own and what the limits are as to what she can do. She smiles and Dad laughs, pleased.

Dad’s phone rings. Of course, it’s That Witch. He tells That Witch that he’s with Ha Ri – I’m shocked. Ha Ri is too. – because there is something that they need to talk about. Ha Ri stifles a smile as Dad hangs up with That Witch. Dad says that he’ll help her whenever she needs it, so ask him anytime that she's having a hard time. She tells him that there won't be anything like that anymore. Even if she asks for help in a moment of weakness, don't ever give it to her! That's more helpful to her. Dad laughs happily.

As Dad leaves, Ha Ri yells at herself. She made such a big fuss about doing stuff on her own, so what is she going to do now? She stops herself and tells herself that there's no rule saying she’s done for. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over. She gives herself a pep talk. Fighting!

The team has been going through potential interviews. Nothing is any good. Joo Young enters and says that it seems like another inexperienced rookie who's studied abroad will be sitting as Vice President. Hye Jin asks what she’s talking about. Joo Young elaborates that next week, Jin Sung Group Chairman's son will be inaugurated as the Vice President of the magazine department. Rumors are circulating all over the place. Shin Hyuk can’t believe that it’s a golden spoon again? Isn't this pattern too typical? Why is it always a second generation chaebol?

Ah Reum puts it together that new guy will be Ra Ra’s nephew. Can't he use his connections and save their team somehow? Poong Ho suggests that they do a racy photo shoot for the edition. Then it will sell like it's on fire. Joo Young hits him on the head with his stick and sarcastically declares that that's really Most-like. Really, it is. They should at least protect their class!

Seol is fretting. He gets inaugurated next week? What's this? She has no time to seduce him. And Joon Woo *did* study abroad. Both he and Shin Hyuk speak English. She shoots down the idea of it being Poong Ho… so it must be Shin Hyuk. When she looks up, there’s Joon Woo’s sad face, staring at her. She quickly looks away and decides to tackle Shin Hyuk first.

She tracks him down in the hallway as he’s leaving work and aegyoes as she invites him to dinner. His response: he looks up her nose and says that she has some nose hairs. His face! His face! She grabs her nose to hide it. He asks what she would have done if someone else saw it? He tells her that she’s thankful, right? Of course she must be thankful. Go take care of that and then treat him later. He makes a popping sound with his mouth, smiles at her and walks away. That’s a way to shut her down. Smart.

Seol is offended. He should trim his beard instead! How dare he meddle with other people's nostril hairs? Oh, how annoying, seriously! She asks herself if she really has to keep doing this? Still, she should try at least.

Sung Joon checks in with Publisher, who hasn’t heard from Ten. Publisher tells him to give up. Sung Joon looks out at everyone and struggles. He doesn’t want to let them down. Sung Joon goes out and tells them that they’ve all worked hard. Go home for today. No one wants to. Joo Young mentions the art team and advertising team and he says that he’ll meet with them. No one likes that idea, but Sung Joon walks out of the office to get on it.

Lee Kyung wonders what’s going to happen to Sung Joon if the magazine folds? Will he end up getting jetted back to New York? Joo Young declares that it’s brutal back there. If he fails, he wouldn't have a position even if he went back. They just now realize that? He really should tell them he took the job to save their jobs. But still, wouldn't he go back to America first? He has no ties here, so there's no reason for him to stay. Hye Jin looks sad and Shin Hyuk notices.

Later, he reminds Hye Jin about his favorite phrase: "It ain't over till it's over." It's not over yet, so don't worry needlessly. She says that she won’t and they share a fist bump.

Joon Woo chases Seol down in the hall and grabs her arm. She asks what he wants. There’s a pause and he says that he got set up on a blind date. So? Is it... okay for him to go? She tells him to go ahead. He looks like he wants to pass out now. He pulls out his phone and says that he’s going to ask again. Should he really... do it? The blind date? His face is begging her to say no. She half-heartedly tells him to do it. Go ahead.

Joon Woo calls his Hyung and agrees to the blind date. He hangs up and says that he’s going. Then he walks away, crushed. He stops to glances behind him and then runs off, crying. Aw. Seol tries to tell herself that it doesn’t matter. She pulls out her phone to call Shin Hyuk but remembers how he didn’t care about her dirty tissues and was so caring when she was sick. She breaks and runs after him.

Joon Woo sadly climbs onto the bus and uses his smart watch to pay. Seol does catch the bus but she is able to get Joon Woo’s attention. He begs the bus driver to stop. Driver retorts, asking if Joon Woo thinks this is a taxi? Get off at the next bus stop. Joon Woo half-mumbles that they always stop right then in this kind of situation in dramas though... He opens the window and yells at her to come to the next bus stop! She does.

Panting and holding her side, she whines, begging him not to leave her and go on that blind date! He smiles and says that he gets it. He won't do it. He won't leave her and go on that blind date! She says that she’s going to only look at him from now on. She really, really likes him. He says that he really, really likes you. She tells him to give her a kiss. It’s a peck. She asks for another one. Another peck. She hits him and tells him not to do it so short. Try to do it well. He gives her a long one and leaves fall.

Sung Joon is out jogging. Hye Jin calls. He tells her that he’ll call her when he gets home. Alone, he hears Hye Jin tell him to play. She repeats herself. He turns around and barely catches the basketball she threw at him. She tells him that the first one to make the score wins. Loser buys drinks. He stands there like he’s stunned but then calls out, “Let's play!” They have fun goofing around. Including her climbing on his shoulders to shoot a basket.

As they sit and drink some soda, Hye Jin pulls out her manicure set and tells him to give her his hand so she can clip his fingernails for him. Ta-da! He tells her that it’s fine but she persists. She says that these days, he doesn't have the mental energy to clip them. She’s going to clip them for him. Right now she’s clipping his right hand. If he’s left handed, it would be the left hand that he would have a hard time clipping, not the right. He doesn’t say anything but is moved by the gesture.

Hye Jin tells him that he's done his best at all that he can do. Things turned out like this because of something that he can't help, so she hopes that he doesn't blame himself too much. As she starts on his left hand, he says that he thought that his way of doing things was the best, but he thinks that he understand now. His judgment may not have been the best. He feels regretful and sorry. Hye Jin tells him that even if he feels regret, not to blame himself. He really did his best. He nods and says that it's got to end well some way or the other, right? She nods back.

Next day, at the morning meeting, Sung Joon announces that they are going to stop the main interview part of the magazine here. No one wants to. Sung Joon says that although it will impact the sales figures, not having a main interview doesn't necessarily mean that you can't make a good magazine. They should finish up the articles that they've been writing first, and then try writing the items or article plans that they wanted to write individually all this time but couldn't. It would be meaningful for them to fill up their magazine with articles that the people who write them enjoy the most.

Joo Young worries that it’s too risky. Joon Woo mention about being discontinued, which earns a slap from Seon Min. A pause. Poong Ho sighs and says that they still haven't gotten an answer from Ten yet. Ra Ra arrives, calling out “Raviano Bariano, Santiano!” What does that mean? She tells them that their flailing around is very un-Most-like. She agrees with Deputy Chief Editor Ji 100%. It’s 80s day today, what with the hair. But I like the dress. She tells them not to work too hard and just enjoy ourselves. It could be the last magazine. Don't they have to be Most-like till the very end? Stop being so obsessed with getting discontinued. You never know. A small miracle might arise. She sashays out.

The group gets to work. What is Shin Hyuk wearing today? Oi! A delivery guy arrives and they’re confused. Poong Ho asks if he ordered it. Sung Joon emerges from his office and says that he ordered it. They should work after they eat. And he actually eats with them this time. Joon Woo and Seol are feeding each other. Poong Ho frowns and hits them both on the head, telling them not to make it so obvious. Shin Hyuk catches Hye Jin and Sung Joon sharing goofiness. He has to just deal with it.

There’s the layout. Everyone is working to plan it.

Joo Young tells Hye Jin that her article is almost ready for publication, which gets her skipping back to her desk. Shin Hyuk smiles.

Joo Young is in with Sung Joon. He says that more than usual, there are a lot of articles that are extremely clever and stand out. Joo Young says that it must be because everyone's excited because they're doing what they want to do. Sung Joon agrees and says that he should have tried this earlier. In a way that's "Most-like." Before she leaves, he apologizes, saying that she worked hard and he’s sorry. This gets her a little. She tells him that it’s not over yet, Deputy Chief Editor. What is he going to do if they take first place unexpectedly?

Hye Jin hands Joo Young the final proof sheets. Joo Young takes it reluctantly. Ah Reum asks if, when they hand it over to the publishing house, is it the end? Seol asks if The Most is really going to disappear? Eun Yung starts to cry. Shin Hyuk indignantly asks what they’re saying. Don't they know that things could turn around? Who knows? They could completely step over New Look. Until the results come in, nobody, not even the daughter-in-law, knows who will take first place. That’s another saying that has to have a story behind it. When I did a Google search, it struck me that it might mean who takes first-place in her husband’s heart: her or her mother-in-law.

Sung Joon asks for it and will hand it over to the printer. He’s going to personally go and tells them that since they all worked hard, everyone should go out later for a team dinner. Shin Hyuk’s wearing my shocked face. Everyone is shocked. He asks why they’re all staring at him like that. Poong Ho explains that since the words, "team dinner" came out of his mouth, they find it so cheesy, all of them. Shin Hyuk stifles a smile as Sung Joon takes that one in. He tells them that to contact him with the location once they decide on the place and he will treat them properly today. Everyone cheers.

Sung Joon leaves. Everyone deflates and Shin Hyuk ‘yells’ at them for having the atmosphere of a house in mourning? Sung Joon said they should go to a team dinner, so they should go to a really expensive place and eat up! Joo Young likes that idea. Korean beef! Lobster! Hye Jin yells they should eat chicken. Poong Ho complains that they’re going to become chickens. Everyone else wants lobster but Hye Jin argues for the chicken! What’s the big deal? All those team dinners he should have funded, now all at once.

Sung Joon hands over the final proofs to the printer. When Printer asks why the Deputy Chief Editor came personally, Sung Joon asks him to please take special care with it.

The group has gone out to karaoke. Ra Ra is there, too, with hot pink hair. The gossip trio are performing – and Im Ji Hyun has a good voice. Everyone is having a good time. Shin Hyuk gets especially goofy with some pelvic thrusts. Joon Woo and Seol do a cutesy song together.

♫ You're cute, you're cute. You're cute when you smile. ♫
♫ You're so cute, you who are my woman. ♫
♫ You're so cool, you're so cool. You're so cool ♫

Everyone is snapping their fingers, except for Shin Hyuk. He looks like he’s horrified. Ra Ra gives them a loud ‘Brava!’ which makes Joo Young roll.

Poong Ho sings a serious song, very seriously. It brings the whole room down.

♫ The day that I left home and rode the train to go to the training camp ♫

Shin Hyuk starts throwing things at him. And I am rolling.

Ra Ra gets up and says a bunch of stuff that isn’t subbed, except for the line that she wants to be a leopard, not a hyena! Joo Young is rolling and clapping. Poong Ho looks like he’s taking a nap.

Ra Ra sings off key with Joon Woo at her side, cheering her on.

♫ Why did you choose me? ♫

Joo Young does the hand moves from the video

♫ Out of all those many people? ♫

Shin Hyuk cringes and prepares his karate chop as she sings.

♫ I never once resented that it was just a brush with fate

Sung Joon arrives, which gets Ra Ra to stop singing. She makes him sing.

He’s nervous. He starts to sing and it’s off-key. And I though Ra Ra was screechy.

♫ Will I be able to see you again? ♫

Eun Yung grabs her ears. Shin Hyuk’s horrified expression is priceless.

♫ Like this, I came all the way to your house ♫

Ra Ra leans over to Joo Young and tells her to turn it off. Joo Young leans over to Poong Ho and asks if Deputy Chief Editor is the one singing, why do they feel embarrassed?

Sung Joon is really pouring his emotions into the song, singing with his eyes closes.

♫ The phone that hung up without a sound ♫

What is this song? Ah Reum andSeon Min are covering each other’s ears. Hye Jin is the only one smiling and enjoying it. And if that doesn’t say she likes him, I don’t know what will.

♫ I really miss seeing you hesitate ♫

Sung Joon gets more passionate.

♫ Did you forget the days when you and I were in love? ♫

Shin Hyuk coughs at the shock and pain of it. Hye Jin happily smiles and mutters that Sung Joon is so cool. And love is deaf.

Everyone is up and dancing when Shin Hyuk does ‘Run to You’ by DJ Doc. Aw, I wanted to hear his smooth voice *sing* something. Everyone but Sung Joon, who is sitting and clapping.

Sung Joon sneaks out and Hye Jin follows him. She wonders why he’s going back to work? He enters, a regretful look on his face, and thinks of everyone at work. It’s a memory of Joo Young complaining about her sore neck. Shin Hyuk asks why she doesn’t quit. She retorts that she said it was disgusting, but who said she didn't like it? They all know that once she’s hooked on something, she don't look at anything else and just run forward no matter what, right? They know.

She tells them that when she was in high school, she saw The Most magazine for the first time. Wow, it was a completely new world. She was completely hooked. From that moment on, without looking at anything else, she just went straight ahead. She majored in fashion and was a fashion assistant. Ah Reum says that she wanted to be a part of Most so much, that in her fourth year of college, she lied about going on a class trip and worked there as an assistant. Then she got caught, and her father shaved all her hair off. They can’t believe it. They remember how she went around wearing a hat back then.

Joon Woo says that he likes it best when someone asks him what he does. When they ask him, “Where do you work?” he gets to answer ‘Most!’ When you answer like that, isn't it totally exciting? And you feel really proud. They all agree. Poong Ho says that each month, when the issue is done, you think, “If I'm still doing this crap next month, I'm not even a human.” But you still keep doing it. This is actually addicting. Joo Young says that even though it's difficult at the end of each issue, strangely, somehow, it's extremely thrilling.

Sung Joon sadly sighs.

Back at the karaoke room, Ra Ra is slurring drunk and moans, asking where she’s going to go to find that Most like-ness? Where is her Most? A drunk Joo Young cries that it’s here! Shin Hyuk is the only one who isn’t drunk. He looks quite sullen. Joon Woo tells Ra Ra that he heard that the Vice-President who will be taking his position today is her nephew. Can't she use her connections to save them this once? Ra Ra laughs loudly and says that she can’t. Shin Hyuk wonders where Jackson went. He reaches for his phone and it’s not in his pockets. I hope he doesn’t come in and catch them kissing.

Hye Jin asks Sung Joon why he’s there. He says it’s just because. He’s suddenly so sleepy. He lies down and puts his head in her lap. She softly strokes his head as he lies with his eyes closed. Sung Joon’s VO says that he’s also been given the responsibility of protecting the team members. It's not just a matter of success, it's also a matter of responsibility. So he can't just take it lightly. She thinks about how hard he’s work and how hard it’s been for him, collapsing at the airport.

She starts to cry for him and how hard he worked. She tells him that it’s not his fault and he worked hard. Shin Hyuk comes in to see it. At least they’re not kissing. Hye Jin doesn’t notice him. He leaves without his phone.

Ra Ra is drunk and riding home. She hiccups and looks sullen.

Next morning, Hye Jin gets up and Ha Ri is already up. She stayed up all night? Ha Ri wonder, with so many jobs in the Republic of Korea, so why can't she find at least one? She moans that she’s so pathetic. She heads off to sleep. Hye Jin looks at Ha Ri’s job list and sees one that would be great for Ha Ri. She gets a call from Shin Hyuk. He frantically says her name and moans, asking what he should do. Ah, he's going to go crazy! What should he do about this? Of course she’s concerned. He says that it’s not something he can tell her over the phone. He has to tell her in person. He’ll be at her house in 30 minutes, so brace herself and come out. He hangs up before she can argue.

She hurries out, asking what’s going on. He frantically tells her to get in the car for right now! He’s in a rush! She protests but he says that he doesn’t don't have time for this. He opens the door and shoves her in. As they drive he wonders how he should tell her this. She can’t be shocked, Jackson. She asks why he’s being so scary? What's going on? He says that he’s being completely serious when he says this. Promise that she won't say anything. That's the only way he can say this. Okay? She agrees and says that she won't tell a soul.

He tells Jackson that he’s actually... he looks over at her and there’s a pause. He says… that he’s really bored. Instead of I am the new Vice President. She can’t believe him. He cackles and says that the issue is completed, but he has no one to play with. Could there be a sadder situation than this? Just hang out with him for a day, okay? She yells at him for worrying her. She thought that it was something big! She demands he stop the car!

He says that something big did happen. She asks what, ready for something juicy. Shin Hyuk replies… that he’s starving. They should eat first! At the restaurant, he’s loudly ecstatic about them bringing out Hanwoo (Korean beef). Hanwoo! She’s embarrassed that people know they’re together. What is wrong with him? Oh! They are chowing down on seafood! Crab! I am jealous! Shin Hyuk calls over a server and asks if they have pickled radishes? She’s puzzled and he declares that there is a tendency to only feel refreshed by eating pickled radish. She tells him that she’ll get it ready. Hye Jin can’t believe he asked for pickled radish.

When the pickled radish arrives, Shin Hyuk says that it tends to be most delicious when Jackson throws it to him. She tells him to just eat. He holds out his tongue and wiggles for his radish. She’s so embarrassed, she does it to get him to stop.

She thanks him for the food but he says that now that they've eaten, they should get going. She suggests that they just go home. Appalled, he calls her a traitor! So she throws her friends away since she’s got a boyfriend now. Today is a special day! She replies that she knows that it's a day when he’s especially bored. He replies, “Bingo!” Since it's a day when he’s especially bored, then they have to spend it in an especially fun way! It's going to be the most top, top, top, spectacular roller-coaster like day, so look forward to it. Okay?

They end up on a roller coaster and Hye Jin is terrified. Shin Hyuk is living it up. He tells her to put her hands up. Fun time on the roller coaster. At the end of it, Shin Hyuk is invigorated. Hye Jin is trying not to throw up. He tells her that she’s scared like a little kid. She yells at him that she said she can't ride stuff like that! He tells her to throw aside her fear and enjoy herself. Then everything becomes fun. They end up on something much slower, including the kid’s rides. Shin Hyuk is having a blast.

In a gift store, Shin Hyuk scares her with a gorilla mask. She yells that she’ll take revenge. Soon, she pops in his face wearing what looks like a Bill Clinton mask. It scares him so much he runs into the wall and knocks himself out. But not really. He was just pretending so he can scare her again.

Later, they walk down the street, with Shin Hyuk whistling. He tells her that it was fun, wasn't it? He wishes every single day was like today. She asks why he’s so excited today? He replies that he said today is a special day. She asks why it’s so special. He replies that she’ll find out tomorrow. He distracts her and runs over to look at something. He gets a orange cap to match his grey one. She tells him that it looks like a thimble. He asks how much the hat is and then tells Hye Jin that the man said that it's 10,000 won. She’s surprised but he says that she didn’t know she was buying. He hurries away before she can argue. She reluctantly pays.

They end up drinking coffee. She sips her coffee and says that she doesn’t even know how this day passed. He says that she still had as much fun as is humanly possible, right? Right? Right? She admits that there were some really fun experiences. He snaps his fingers and says that he’ll have to take that back. She doesn’t know what he means. I don’t either. He says that when he said that he wouldn't be her friend. He’s going to have to take that back. No matter how much he thinks about it, he thinks that they’re good as friends. Really good friends on top of that. Right? She smiles and agrees. Really, really good friends.

Shin Hyuk moans that he should have been her schoolmate first! Then he would have had a first love. When she looks at him worried, he says that it’s a joke! They’re friends, so what's the big deal? He moans again and says that he should have just kissed her that day when he confessed. She starts to protest and he says that it’s joke. He takes it back, cancel! It's a joke, a joke! They’re friends, so what's the big deal? She yells at him (and it’s not subbed). I think it’s something along the lines of yelling at him to cut it out! He says that he’ll really do it now. Before he leaves, he tells Jackson to be well.

The way that he said it makes her ask. What is he doing? He’s acting like he'll never see her again. He nods and announces that he’s leaving. And something in that smile is making me sad. He starts to go but turns around to tell Jackson that he really likes her. Without regards for whether it's as man and woman, he just likes her as a person. The human being Jackson... No, he really liked her as a human being, Kim Hye Jin. She’s a bit embarrassed and asks what he’s suddenly saying? He nods and tells her ‘thank you.’ And he’s made me cry again. The song Choi Siwon sings on the soundtrack, ‘Only You,’ starts to play.

♫ My awkward confession ♫

Because of Jackson, he had a really fun, exciting time.

♫ that was too late ♫

He pretends like everything is normal as he holds up his hand in a wave and says goodbye.

♫ I keep getting farther away from you ♫

He holds it out for a high five. She gives it to him.

♫ Because I love you ♫

He pauses just a moment, because it’s hard and then smiles and goes.

♫ more than I love myself ♫

She wonders why he’s acting so strange.

♫ You are the only one for me ♫

♫ Yes, you are the only one for me ♫

She goes outside and Shin Hyuk drives away.

♫ I'm lonesome to the point of tears. So that you can come back to me at any time ♫

As he drives away, he finally lets himself cry.

♫ At this place where I can be seen ♫
♫ I shall stay ♫

Next day, they’re preparing for Jinsung Magazine’s Vice-President Inauguration Ceremony.

Someone calls the printer and says that they haven't started binding The Most issue yet as of today. He’s surprised.

Ra Ra is channeling Catherine Zeta Jones in Chicago, dressed in a suit and her hair is in a slick boy’s cut. She says that today has finally come. She puts on her fedora and leaves her desk.

Printer calls Sung Joon and tells him that they told him to stop binding the magazine. Sung Joon starts to freak. Printer tells him that the man told him to stop binding the magazine for now. It didn't sound like a joke. What happened? Sung Joon tells him that he’ll check into it and call her back. He looks at his phone and there’s a text from “Ten. To Deputy Chief Editor Ji Sung Joon, I will do The Most interview. The only condition is that Deputy Chief Editor will do the exclusive interview See you today at 2 pm.” Sung Joon about falls over.

Eun Yung is moaning over how awesome Ten’s book is. Joon Woo asks if they all have to go to the Vice-President's Inauguration Ceremony? Ah Reum asks why they’re telling all the employees to attend too? Isn't that something to decide in their household anyway? Joo Young tells them that, for the Editor-in-Chief's sake, they need to at least go through the motions and look at the parachute's face. Joo Young wonders why she doesn’t see either Kim Poong Ho or Kim Shin Hyuk at all. Someone suggests that Poong Ho is off sleeping somewhere again. Or about to be revealed as something.

A man in a suit enters. His width makes me think it’s Poong Ho. Ra Ra gets on the elevator to the 7th floor and twirls her pen around her fingers.

Everyone is waiting for the inauguration to start. Eun Yung’s still reading. Joo Young gives her a hard time for reading. Hye Jin wonders where Shin Hyuk and Poong Ho are. Seol replies that Hye Jin will find out in a little while. Not because she knows anything, just being condescending.

Announcer begins the inauguration ceremony. Everyone politely claps. Except for Hye Jin. She’s enthusiastically clapping. Eun Yung finishes the book. The new VP walks onto the stage. The Most gang is stunned. Joo Young can’t talk.

Someone walks down the steps, spinning the same pen like Ra Ra does – it’s not Ra Ra because it’s a man and there’s no polish on his fingers.

The new VP sticks his scratching stick in his pocket. And Poong Ho. Looking very spiffy and he got a hair cut. He greets them as the person who has been inaugurated as vice-president of Jinsung Magazine as of today, Kim Poong Ho.

The Most crew is sputtering, asking why Poong Ho is over there. Ra Ra arrives and smiles at her nephew. She says that he came looking Most-like.

Sung Joon arrives to meet with Ten. Ten is looking out a window with his back to the door. And, of course, it’s Shin Hyuk. That’s his silhouette. Sung Joon introduces himself. Shin Hyuk turns around, clean shaven and says, “Nice to meet you. I am Ten.” Sung Joon almost falls over.

Thoughts

Choi Siwon looks so good clean shaven! And I love his hair cut!

I’m crying again, thinking about that last day. He kidnapped her to play with her because he knew he was saying goodbye. That makes me really sad. Being Ten explains why he lives by himself. Good fake out, writers. Because I thought it was going to be the other way around. It still doesn’t explain *why* Shin Hyuk lives by himself, though.

I do wonder why it does mean goodbye, though. Does he really have to out himself or can they do the interview and leave his identity intact? I don’t think that Sung Joon would tell anyone. Even though Shin Hyuk looked really studly in his suit. But if he does *reveal* himself, he’s giving a lot for all of them. He can’t be anonymous anymore. He can’t just be goofy Shin Hyuk anymore. He told Sung Joon that he would be with him until the end.

But why did Shin Hyuk wait so long to do the interview? Did Poong Ho know? Is that how they stopped the presses?

I’m glad that Seol decided to go for love, rather than riches. Joon Woo is a good guy.

I’m also glad that Ha Ri had a good moment with her dad. She deserves that. And That Witch can’t really be snarky now, since Ha Ri’s not living off of Daddy’s dollar anymore. What can she snark about? If she does, Dad will get ticked.

And what is Joo Young going to do now, since her Poong Ho is now the VP. There’s always been a little something between them. Maybe he's going to court her now, as himself? That will be amusing.

Maybe the 20th Anniversary issue won’t be number one and the new VP can tell Boss to stick it. Sung Joon killed himself for the magazine, for all of them. So much that he collapsed from exhaustion and stress. He’s talented. Canning him because he couldn’t save the magazine in 3 issues is stupid. Even though he was a monster as a boss at times, he also showed that he could humble himself, change and apologize when needed. He’d be an asset to the magazine, definitely.

We’re all assuming that the 20th Anniversary issue will be Number 1, but I’m wondering if a twist might be that it *doesn’t* make it to Number One. And then there’s the false drama of Hye Jin might get shipped back to the central office and away from The Most. Again, they would be stupid to let that happen. She’s talented, a hard worker, integral to the team functioning, can translate well, and is a good writer to boot. No real tension there, either.

This drama is almost over! I’m sad.
