She Was Pretty Episode 13 Recap

We get to start the episode where the other one left off: with the face caress and the kiss. Sarcastic ‘yay.’ Dang and it’s as slow as the last time. Gak. Sorry to all you Hye Jin-Sung Joon shippers, I just really wanted Shin Hyuk to get the girl.

After the kiss is over, Hye Jin tells him that she’s sad. Look at how thin he is. How can he work until he collapses? Weakly, he says that he’s totally fine. And the double pillow action is really annoying me in this shot – if you don’t know what I mean, when shooting just Sung Joon, he’s on the edge of the pillow, when shooting just Hye Jin, she’s on the edge of the pillow, like they’re on 2 separate pillows, but when shooting both of them, there’s *one* pillow. He notices his scarf and she says that she snatched it from Princess. When did he come? He strokes her head as he says that last night, he went there because he missed her, but it was really late, so he restrained himself.

Sung Joon puts his hand on her shoulder – again on his own pillow – and says that he will not restrain any of it. Liking her, missing her, wanting to hug her, he will not restrain these anymore. That is sweet. I’m not a Sung Joon-hater. I just wanted Shin Hyuk to get the girl.

♫ I'm afraid you still don't know how I feel.♫

They hug again.

♫ It seems I don't know. It seems I don't know anyone except you. ♫

And where’s the nurse to kick her out?

♫ It seems I don't know anything else except to love you. ♫

As he holds her, he says that this is wonderful. Yes, Sung Joon is a sweet guy. If they hadn’t made Shin Hyuk so awesome, I would totally be on this ship.

♫ Your voice calling me (my voice calling you) ♫
♫ Your eyes looking at me (My eyes looking at you) ♫

Out in the hall, there’s a loud cry of “Oh! Mamma mia!” Ra Ra!

Ra Ra hurries up to the door –dressed like a cowgirl fashionista with braids. There’s lots and lots of fringe, people – and enters. Sung Joon is now sitting up in bed, like he’s been reading. Ra Ra is so frantic that she loses her hat when she enters. He greets her and she grabs his face, like she’s his mother. She moans that his skin that used to be scintillante and brilliante, look at the state of his face! His coloring is that of poop. She continues to mess with his face as she says that his face looks like a dried orange peel. Sung Joon’s grimace makes me chuckle.

Ra Ra declares that his head, which is already small like a bean, is about to disappear! It’s not that small. He smiles and says that he’s fine, pulling her hands away from his face. She yells at him: What does he mean he’s fine? Looking at him like this makes her heart break.

Hye Jin is hiding somewhere and chomping her teeth together nervously. Ra Ra notices the sound. Hye Jin puts her hand over her mouth to stop herself. Ra Ra notes that it came from the closet. Hye Jin cringes. Why she couldn’t have come to visit Sung Joon in the hospital as a concerned co-worker, I don’t know. Ra Ra asks if there’s some kind of fairy in there? Is there a fairy living here?

Sung Joon starts chomping his teeth together and says that it’s him. He’s making that sound. He’s feeling chills because he’s not feeling well. That gets the human heater to offer a hug. He starts fanning himself that he’s now even feeling hot. Is it because he’s not in a good condition? She starts to try to take his pyjama top off, so he can cool down. She is totally acting like his mother, or aunt! It’s cracking me up.

Ra Ra sighs and says that his body is not functioning well. What should they do? Ra Ra says that with his capabilities, she believes that things for Most will totally work out. So, she shouldn't work too hard. She will definitely support him as well. She chuckles and says that it sounds like she’s boasting. Serious, with a comforting voice, she says that her connections are no joke.

She starts to say that her amazing, perfect neph–- She stops – because no one’s supposed to know about him. Sung Joon doesn’t seem to react at all. Ra Ra changes it to be that a lot of people are still flustered. She chuckles, trying hard to cover her gaffe. Sung Joon thanks her. Ra Ra kneads his arm a little, saying that she wants to give him a massage the whole night, since her hands are like medicine, but she has a meeting. He should rest. She hugs him and gives him a kiss on the cheek, telling him to have a rest.

Sung Joon has started to creep out of the bed. Ra Ra thinks of something and turns around. Him in patient uniform is totally not Most-like. She hopes that he will get well soon and come back to me, very Most-like. Okay? He nods and she leaves.

He grabs his glucose drip and gets to the closet. Hye Jin is inside running her finger between her tongue and her nose. He makes a comment that she’s a complete closet maniac. She was hiding in his closet the other time. Hye Jin moans about her liver! She was really surprised. He laughs. He starts to lean in for another kiss. Hye Jin closes her eyes and puckers slightly. He starts laughing at her. What is she doing? What's with her eyes and mouth? He says that he wanted her to hold this for him. He’s a patient. She slowly reaches for it and he pretends like he’s surprised. Did she think he was going to kiss her? Now he’s pulling a Shin Hyuk. Stop it. Hye Jin protests that no! It's not that!

Sung Joon sighs and says that he thought Kim Hye Jin was only a complete closet maniac, but she is also a total kiss maniac. She protests loudly that that’s not it! The reason she closed her eyes... He interrupts her to give her a quick kiss on the lips. Then on the forehead. She gets happier and he puts one on her cheek.

Leaving the hospital the next day, he gets hit with some bird poop. He laughs at getting bombed by a bird. He walks away, chuckling. A little forced, I think.

Hye Jin is late for work. Ha Ri is doing her yoga. Hye Jin quickly tells Ha Ri to come eat dinner in the print shop later. Today is her family's biggest celebration. It's their wedding anniversary? Yeah. Ha Ri frowns and says that her junior colleagues were going to do a farewell party for her today. Hye Jin says that it can’t be helped then.

Hye Jin climbs into the back of the elevator. Shin Hyuk is also back there, hiding behind some people. He leans in and greets her. She gives him a bow. He nods. Then he makes a loud, farting sound with his mouth – which everyone hears – and acts like Hye Jin just farted. He tells her that it seems like her intestines are not well. She tells the crowd that it wasn’t her and mutters at him, asking what's wrong with him.

Shin Hyuk does it again – and I have to say that Siwon is quite talented at this. I don’t know if that’s sad or not – and gasps even louder. This gets looks from the crowd again. He says that her intestines seem extremely unwell. She protests that it wasn’t her! She didn't do it! No one believes her.

As they walk towards the Most office, Shin Hyuk is whistling, like nothing happened. Hye Jin yells at him. He spins around her and declares, “That's it! That's it, Jackson!” They should be this comfortable around each other. Don't be sorry, awkward, and distant from him. They shouldn’t do that, so childish. She sadly says “Reporter Kim.” He says – and I wish he would take those sunglasses off, they hide his eyes mostly, but maybe that’s the point – that if he loses such a good dongsaeng like Jackson over this, it would be such a shame, wouldn't it? So, they should be comfortable around each other. Comfortably. Okay? Okay? He does a goofy little dance and Hye Jin agrees.

He sighs loudly and wonders what luck does Deputy Chief Editor have to get such an amazing lady... He leans in and puts an arm around her. He tells her that if the Deputy Chief Editor is not good to her, tell him immediately. He’ll scold Sung Joon for her like oppa, understand? He gives her arm two pats and then walks away. She sighs.

Sung Joon is waiting for the elevator and reading his tablet. The elevator dings and he walks into the doors of the wrong elevator, sliding to the floor. He laughs and shakes his head at himself. Eun Yung notices him.

Sung Joon enters the office and sees Hye Jin. He immediately blocks his face – like she’s radiant – and says that it's bright. Joo Young tells him that he should rest more. He chuckles like Santa as he swings his arm and declares that he’s completely fine. They should all work hard today. Fighting! He walks into his office, whistling – which is very strange for him. Seol asks Ah Reum if she’s not the only one hearing it, right? Why is he like that?

Eun Yung whispers that earlier, she saw his head bumping into glass really hard. The girls cringe with worry. Except Hye Jin. She’s not part of the conversation. If she was, she would be super awkward right now. Shin Hyuk sighs and turns back to his desk. Talking about the guy who got his girl is not what he wants to do today. Poong Ho says that he can smell something fishy. That face is a face that comes out when a person is dating someone. He’s perceptive.

Ah Reum wonders, with our Deputy Chief's character, what kind of woman would he be seeing? Others agree. Seriously, what kind of woman is he seeing? Shin Hyuk makes a face because it’s killing him that Hye Jin’s so awesome and Sung Joon got her. Hye Jin was eavesdropping from upstairs and doesn’t pay attention when she tries to hang something up, so it ends up clattering loudly to the first floor. This makes Shin Hyuk chuckle slightly.

Hye Jin brings Sung Joon his mail. He sees her and breaks out into a huge smile. She cringes and hurries over to his desk where she grabs the clicker and blacks out the windows. Now *that’s* not obvious at all. She presents him with the mail and begs him not to be obvious. He asks what she’s talking about. She tells him that he’s laughing like a person who has a loose screw, and he’s even whistling! People are asking if he has a girlfriend and asking about what kind of girl he’s dating. Sung Joon shifts his head at that though and asks if it’s not okay if other people know about this? Hye Jin says that if he acts so obvious, they will become uncomfortable in many ways. Please act like as usual, as usual.

Sung Joon asks how he acts, usually. Hye Jin imitates grouchy Sung Joon. He always turns this hourglass around and he gets crazy mad at people in a snotty, rude, and unpleasant way. Sung Joon sighs and – looking annoyed and disappointed with himself – he says that he was always snotty, rude, and unpleasing to people. So she changes her tune to cheer him up: He wasn’t always like that. He’s unresponsive for a moment.

She asks if his body is feeling better now. Hw throws open his arms and says that it’s just as she can see. He reaches for his coffee and she stops him. Now try to drink less coffee for his health: only three cups a day. She leaves after repeating several times not to be obvious. He chuckles to himself that she’s so cute. Then he uses the smart watch to track his coffee consumption. He has one more cup left. Goofy smile in his chair.

Group meeting. He’s all business. Hye Jin looks at him and wonders how he grew up to be like this. When he was young, he couldn't do a presentation very well. It's so interesting every time she sees him. I wonder if she would have *liked* him if she didn’t know him before. Hmmm. As Sung Joon rolls up his sleeves, she pictures Young Sung Joon rolling up his sleeves. Young Sung Joon flips the timer and Hye Jin giggles loudly. Sung Joon asks what she said just now. "Eh heh" emerged? Sounding like the same Sung Joon. She apologizes. He tells her to focus during the meeting please, focus. And don't change the mood.

After the meeting, Seol scurries over and asks Unni is she’s perhaps dating? Hye Jin starts to freak out, but Ah Reum adds that it’s really obvious that she’s dating someone. Seol’s questions made it sound like she’s asking about Sung Joon, but Seol was just asking in general. She protests and Shin Hyuk sighs at her. Who wouldn't believe that she’s Jackson... Tsk tsk..

But it is really obvious. Hye Jin is skipping and humming around the office. Singing and giggling. Poong Ho starts to sing along and says that even a stray dog would know that she’s dating someone. She's shown them 10,000 different happy gestures when he’s showed none. Does that mean *he’s dating? Joo Young, maybe? She denies it, saying that she doesn’t think so. He replies that he thinks it's true. He walks away. From his office, Sung Joon chuckles and shakes his head. Who is telling whom to stop being obvious.

Later the two run into each other in the hall. She gives him a conspiratorial smile and nudge, complimenting on his earlier acting. He asks what she’s talking about. She explains how he purposely scolded her so that he won't be obvious. He replies that he wasn't acting. He scolded her because a scolding was in order. He really did? He nods. He shrugs and says that he’s person who is definite when he is working. She protests – in her fake voice – that she wasn't upset. He should be definite during work. He just looks at her. She walks away muttering that he’s quite the American style, American style. After she’s gone, he stifles a laugh and moans to himself how cute she is.

Poong Ho puts down Ten’s book, ‘Memory.’ He declares that Ten is a monster at writing. It's interesting, but it's too interesting. How can it be *too* interesting. Lee Kyung begs to borrow it. So does Seon Min. Poong Ho asks Joon Woo: He said Ten is a forty year old Korean woman, right? Poong Ho says that it might be true. Joon Woo says that he’s positive. Poong Ho says that the background of this novel is Korea. Seol scoffs at that idea: then the Avengers must be written by a Korean person as well since the background was in Korea as well. Poong Ho explains that if Ten wasn’t from Korea, Ten wouldn’t able to bring the emotions out as well as this... Are you talking universal emotions? Or knowing what things resonate with Koreans to stir those emotions? I still think it’s Ra Ra. But it would be interesting if it was Shin Hyuk, or the person that Shin Hyuk keeps talking to in English. That would explain the talent in the writing department.

They wonder why the name Ten. Is she planning on only writing 10 novels and then retiring? Shin Hyuk makes a face like that idea is interesting. He doesn’t say anything. Ra Ra starts to cackle. She’s channeling Evita again. She asks why would everyone think that Ten is the number ten? Ten! Ten, ten. Ten has a lot of different meanings. It's not ten in Spain. It's "Here it is." Hay yeori (Spanish) vs. yeoli (Korean "ten"). What does "here it is" mean? Would it mean that there is really something here? Shin Hyuk frowns at her. Everyone looks at her. She smiles and softly says that if it's not true then never mind. She cackles and leaves singing.

The group now wonders if Ra Ra knows something. And it looks like Shin Hyuk’s wheels are turning. When are we going to find out if he’s her nephew? Later in the bathroom, Ra Ra calls her nephew and reminds him about their meeting at 5. Seol is there to overhear. And, of course, she’s going to try to spy on them.

Seol hides across the street from where Ra Ra is meeting her nephew. When Ra Ra gets out of her car, Seol practically gives birth from the excitement. No, she’s not pregnant. It’s just an expression to describe her giddiness. Seol hunts for the nephew. There’s a knock on the window. It’s Ah Reum. Could it be Ah Reum? The Korean word for nephew is the same as for niece… She’s ticked that Seol skipped out from organizing the beauty products like she told her to. Seol’s still trying to spot the nephew. She says that she was just thirsty. Ah Reum grabs her ear to pull her back to the office. Seol begs for 5 more minutes but Ah Reum doesn’t budge.

Ra Ra sips her water from a spoon as she waits. Nephew arrives and sits. A plant blocks our view so we don’t see the nephew’s face, but he’s wearing a suit. And no one in the office was wearing a suit earlier. He sits up quite nice and tall, though. Kind of like Sung Joon. The suit looks familiar, too, She scolds him for being 10 minutes late. She says that she talked to her brother and they already decided that he is going to work as Director. She smiles as she asks if that means he’s coming back into the house again? And who lives in a big hotel right now? She’s happy.

Hye Jin goes in to wish Sung Joon a good night. He wants to eat dinner together. She reminds him that she has to go to the print shop today. He nods and then acts stricken that he won’t be able to see her today. She laughs at his silliness. He gets up to drive her there. She protests, but he’s not going to take ‘no’ for an answer. She happily agrees.

Outside the house, they hold hands and tells each other to leave first. Sung Joon sighs and asks if he really can't see her today? It makes no sense. She chuckles and asks what’s so not understandable? Didn't he say he would only need 10 seconds? He protests that he wanted to see her more than that last time. He totally held it in. And they get loudly busted by Hye Rin. Hye Rin runs inside, yelling for Appa, saying that they’re dating! Hye Jin loudly tears after her.

So Sung Joon ends up sitting awkwardly at the dinner. He says that if he had known it's a celebration, he wouldn't have come empty-handed. Appa and Oma’s hands shake a ‘no’ on either side of his face as they say that between family-members, no gift needed. Hye Jin grumbles about bringing him in, since he’s busy. Oma wants to feed him. Hye Jin protests but Sung Joon declares that he will enjoy the food. The only one not laughing is Hye Jin.

During the meals, everyone dotes on Sung Joon and Hye Jin complains. As Oma keeps doting on him, his face looks funny. It becomes more and more obvious that he’s thinking of his own Oma. Hye Rin remembers the family photo and Appa wrangles Sung Joon into the photo. And where is Ha Ri? I thought she would have gotten out of that farewell dinner.

Hye Jin and Sung Joon say goodbye, with Hye Jin telling him not to overwork himself. He has to kiss her on the forehead before he leaves. They wave goodbye. As Sung Joon turns to walk away, he comes across Ha Ri. Small talk. She almost goes inside but they both turn around, wanting to talk.

Ha Ri and Sung Joon head to someplace with a nice overlook of Seoul. She apologizes about that day at the hotel... And she’s even more sorry for everything she did all this time. She wanted to meet him in person and apologize. She apologizes for tricking him the whole time. He apologizes for not listening to what she needed to say. Now that he thinks about it, he never gave her a chance to talk and left, so it’s also his fault as well. She ‘argues’ with him about that. What did he do? Even if he thought that she was Hye Jin and treated her that way, he supported her a lot when she was in a hard situation. She thanks him for that and apologizes again. He nods, accepting it.

Ha Ri gets up to go. Sung Joon stands and offers his hand, telling her to take care. Like you’re not going to ever see her again. She’s Hye Jin’s best friend and Hye Jin isn’t going to dump her for you. At least Shin Hyuk was sharp enough to figure that out. I’m a little annoyed at him. she reluctantly shakes it. He says that if they had met as just Hye Jin's friends, maybe they could have been close friends, is what he was thinking. Is that supposed to be an olive branch? She thanks him for saying that. She leaves and Sung Joon walks away.

As Hye Jin and Ha Ri clean up the dishes, Ha Ri says that she ran into Sung Joon out front. They had had a good talk. Ha Ri says that even if she lost the chance to tell him, at least she had the chance to apologize. It's a relief. They smile at each other.

Later, Hye Jin is brushing her teeth when Sung Joon calls. She tells him she’ll call him back after she finishes. He tells her to go ahead – and his bangs are flopped over his forehead – and decides to brush his teeth, too. Really? Are they 12? Hye Jin tells him that it’s great that he talked with Ha Ri earlier. It's a relief. He nods and says that they must be together right now. Hye Jin explains that Ha Ri quit her job so she is able to sleep over their house for a few days. They gargle and spit together.

Hye Jin folds clothes and watches television while on the phone with Sung Joon. So before he left for college, he and his dad lived at his aunt's place. Then he must be close to his aunt. Sung Joon says that it’s true, because she took care of him in his mother's place. So they’re trying to rewrite things that he’s Ra Ra’s nephew? Sung Joon’s father lives in Seattle. What Chairman of a huge company in Korea lives in Seattle? Red herring!

Later, Hye Jin is reading all of Sung Joon’s letters. She giggles because the spelling is all wrong. He wrote, "Hye Jin, I hope you feel beter soon' and instead of two t's, you spelled it with just one 't'. I’m sure it was something else, but that’s a good English translation. Doorbell rings and it’s Sung Joon. She is surprised. He notices that she’s not wearing her makeup, grabs a cheek and says that it's been a while since he’s seen this face. Ah, so cute. Hye Jin cringes and immediately covers her cheeks with her hand and her phone. Really, why did he come? He holds up an envelope. He brought her something to eat that she had noticed earlier when watching the television. He leaves but she catches him and they go eat together.

Even after they finish their food, they stay in the car talking. She asks about his blood type: AB. She says that that’s why he keeps going back and forth between A and B. He laughs in protests and asks when he ever did.

For those of you who don’t know, many Koreans believe that your blood type determines your personality. For more, check out this article on Psychologia.co, Wikipedia's entry on the blood type personality theory, 'Your Blood Type Determines Your Personality' on WakingTimes.com, and what AllKpop.com has to say about it.
Type A’s strive for success and kindness and others’ interests and needs before their own. While they may seem calm on the outside, they often suffer from inner turmoil and anxiety because they’re easily stressed. They are perfectionists. They will get along with others quite well, but it is often achieved at expense of their own balance and happiness.

Type B’s are rebels and the life of the party. They stay true to themselves. They can be stubborn because they want to do their own thing. They are highly flexible and into body language and other methods of deciphering others. Korean women consider men with blood type B personality not suitable for marriage due to their playful and flirty disposition.

Type AB’s are quirky, strong and rational people. They don’t worry about little things and usually can assess their life challenges without emotions getting in the way. Despite their love for freedom and independent thinking, they don’t have any issues when it comes to relationships and are quite popular.

Type O’s This type is described as responsible, practical and rule-conscious and organized. They strive to be the hero of every situation and are natural leaders who want their friends to be happy. Their determination helps them achieve their goals. While they are usually liked by other people, they are somewhat loners and need a lot of time alone.

We see that they are sitting in his car outside her house. Why didn’t they just go inside? They happily listen to their song. The next morning, Hye Jin wakes up to realize that they spent the night in his car. She quickly gets out and he hurries home to change. They end up entering work within a few minutes of each other and sneak each other a look.

Hye Jin stops by to visit Manager and get some supplies. Everyone is happy to see her. And lazy intern actually looks like she’s working. He asks if she’s coming back in three weeks, right? She forgot about that. He’s been crossing off the days, waiting for her so long that his neck is as long as a giraffe's. She loudly laughs but is unsettled. It’s not like they couldn’t make her a permanent employee. They wouldn’t be able to function without her, really. If the magazine stays open, of course. And she *is* dating the boss.

Shin Hyuk and Joon Woo are looking at his computer. He cries loudly that he was right! Ten is a Korean person. Someone read this book and asked on Ten's SNS, "Are you Korean?" And the response was "yes"! Better yet, it was confirmed by Ten personally. Was it possibly Shin Hyuk who did it? Shin Hyuk is the only one who doesn’t look surprised. Rather, he looks like he’s trying to pretend like this is news to him… Everyone can’t believe it.

A white man enters the office. He’s not smiling. Is this the boss we’ve been hearing on the phone? Poong Ho asks him for a high five. Man looks at him like he’s crazy. Shin Hyuk smacks his hand and asks Man in English how he can help him. Man replies that he’d like to see the copy reader, Ji Sung Joon. And I don’t like how this man said Sung Joon’s name. And it sounds like Boss.

Next we see Sung Joon walking Man out. Boss’s VO says: If the twenty years of The Most Korea vanishes for good, Sung Joon will be remembered as a failure. Him and his whole crew. Then nobody will know what's going to happen. What does that last part mean? Sung Joon sighs as Boss drives away.

Everyone’s waiting for Sung Joon to come back. Poong Ho speaks up and asks. What's going on? This if the first time someone from the main office has visited. Sung Joon says that Boss is his superior who he used to work with. It was just a courtesy visit. They don’t need to worry about it. Why is he lying?

Joo Young asks about the interview they’re trying to get with Leonard Kim. Kim Shin Hye's people are asking for a confirmation on her pictorial interview. Since they have no idea how it'll turn out, shouldn't they give up on Leonard Kim and just– Sung Joon cuts her off and starts to snap at her but stops. He explains that without that kind of interview, they can't catch up to New Look. He tells Joo Young to try and buy as much time as possible, and he will contact Leonard Kim personally.

In his office, Sung Joon sits with his face in his hand. He gets a text from Hye Jin. He came to talk about discontinuing them, didn't he? What do they do? He tells her that it’s okay. They just need to make it. They look at each other through the glass.

Shin Hyuk enters with a flash drive. Putting it on Sung Joon’s desk, he explains that it’s a short film that Leonard Kim made during his school days. He suggests Sung Joon meet with him after Sung Joon watches it. It's a movie that's not in his resume and it will help Sung Joon understand his tendencies. It should make it easier for Sung Joon to approach him. How did he get it, if it’s not on Leonard Kim’s resume? Sung Joon thanks him.

Shin Hyuk asks what Sung Joon is going to do if he can't get Leonard Kim? Sung Joon says that it’s their last chance. He’s going to do whatever it takes to get The Most on top. He’s betting the game on it. Shin Hyuk is up for that. Whether it's a bet or a game, they should go as far as they can. He holds out his fist for a bump. Sung Joon looks at it and then at him. Shin Hyuk looks around like he’s embarrassed for Sung Joon and helps Sung Joon bump, telling him that in moments like these, he just has to tap it like this. Didn’t they do fist bumps in New York or Seattle? It’s not a Korean thing. Sung Joon stops Shin Hyuk from leaving and thanks him again. Shin Hyuk gives him a smile and bow – like he’s saying ‘my pleasure’ or ‘at your service’ – and leaves.

Joon Woo passes Joo Young the articles he received from foreign correspondents. This is a fashion magazine. Why are they getting clippings from foreign correspondents? He mentions strange news going around the main office. If they don't get out of second place with the next edition, The Most will be discontinued. Shocked faces. Joon Woo says that they were asking what will happen to the foreign correspondents if The Most gets discontinued. Everyone reacts. Poong Ho thinks it’s nonsense, but Joo Young goes in to confront Sung Joon. Is it true that Most will be discontinued if this issue isn't first in sales? Everyone is watching. He has to admit it’s true.

She can’t believe that he didn’t tell them. There are tears in her eyes. Understandable. He replies that according to his best judgment, he believed it was the right thing to do. She says that he’s been there three months. She’s been working there at Most for thirteen years. It has turned out that the place where she sacrificed her youth may be discontinued. Now what is she supposed to do? He starts to reply but she says that if he had thought of them as colleagues at the very least, he would not have proceeded in this way.

He says that it’s not like he didn't think about the team member's perspectives, but at the time, he– She cuts him off, telling him that he *didn’t* think about their perspective. They didn't even get a chance to prepare for it while they were sitting around with their eyes wide open! They didn't even get a chance to respond to this situation by working as if their lives depended on it! There’s a pause and she says that she believes that this isn't a case of best judgment, but being dogmatic. I think of dogmatic as staunch, unfailing and fervent in doctrine, but the definition I just looked up says that it has come to mean attitudes that are not only based on unproved theories but are also arrogant in nature. This definition fits what Joo Young just said very well.

Joo Young orders the Fashion Team to follow her and leaves the office. Hye Jin has scurried behind her, trying to catch a moment where she can speak on Sung Joon’s behalf. Joon Woo and Lee Kyung hurry after her. Poong Ho can’t believe that Sung Joon could just stand by and watch them get killed like this? If he'd revealed it earlier, they’d all have tried to do something too. Ah Reum says that that’s why he pushed them so hard.

Shin Hyuk points out that they recorded more sales since Deputy Chief arrived. They just need to make the next issue number one. They should just try their hardest all together, okay? Ah Reum grumbles that since Sung Joon usually does well, he'll probably do fine on his own. Don't each of them just have to submit they articles? They should go everyone. Hye Jin gasps at that and Shin Hyuk grabs his chin. Ah Reum leaves with Seon Min and Seol. Sung Joon emerges from his office and Poong Ho says they should just go. Soon it’s just Sung Joon, Hye Jin and Shin Hyuk.

Later, Sung Joon stands in his office, trying not to look like he wants to die of despair. Hye Jin comes in and asks if he’s okay. He tries to put on a smile. She says that they’re just like that because it was sudden and the shock must be big. He quietly asks her, after apologizing, if for today, can he please be alone? She’s concerned but leaves. He goes back to trying not to cry. It does look pretty hopeless right now.

Sung Joon is meeting with a white woman with his proposal for the Leonard Kim interview. He says (in English) that this proposal tells her how much they’ve been preparing for this project. Back at the office, Shin Hyuk tells someone that they will match the interview's content to Caller’s liking. Hye Jin tells Caller that they can definitely match the photo shoot to fit Caller’s schedule. Hye Jin doesn’t have much luck. Neither does Shin Hyuk. Sung Joon sighs.

Ra Ra – channeling Zsa Zsa Gabor – is in talking with Sung Joon. When he asked for full authority, is this what he meant to do with it? Oh, Mamma. How could he be so not Most-like? Stupido. He doesn’t say anything. And she’s not being mean, just scolding. She explains that when you try to protect something, there is not one correct method of doing so. In that process, there may be misunderstandings that can arise. She understand how he feels but... if only he had trusted his team mates just un pocco, un pocco, a little bit more... She corrects herself. No, if he had only relied on them a bit more, maybe all this wouldn't have happened, my dearest.

Sung Joon sits alone in the dark Most office, thinking of what everyone has said: it wasn’t a case of judgment, but being dogmatic… he'll probably do fine on his own… This really isn't something a person should do… Ra Ra’s latest conversation. He sadly trudges out to his car. Hye Jin is there waiting for him. She announces that she will take care of him. She tells him to climb in and rest his yes. She’ll drive. He grabs her to stop and tells her that he’s okay. He sighs.

Hye Jin protests that she’s worried he’ll collapse again. She can't leave. From now on, she won't leave him alone. The tears start to well up in his eyes as she says that all this time, it must have been hard not having anyone to lean on. Work he thinks no one else but he can do... The weight of that must have been scary. A slight quiver of his mouth says that that’s true. She tells him to, from now on, if he’s struggling, to struggle in front of her. When he’s having a hard time, do it in front of her. His Adam’s Apple bob as he tries to hold it in. Don't carry the burden by himself. They should do everything together. Hmmn? Let's do it together, Sung Joon.

♫ It fills my heart ♫

He looks away from her and sighs, trying not to cry but happy that she’s there for him.

♫ But I can't say anything. ♫

Grateful, he pulls her into a hug.

♫ Sometimes, even though you think about me ♫

He holds her for a long time.

♫ Sometimes, even if you long for me ♫
♫ Sometimes, even if you laugh at me, it's okay. ♫
♫ Because this longing heart ♫
♫ seems to be nothing but love ♫
♫ I can't let you go. ♫

She tells him that everything will be all right. He buries his face in her arms and stays there. Aw.

The next day, Hye Jin is slowly walking down the hall toward the office. Shin Hyuk greets her, looking rather grim. She sighs. They enter and are surprised. Everyone is back and hard at work. And I’m touched. I knew they would, but it’s still touching. They smile at each other. Hye Jin runs over and grabs Joo Young and bounces up and down, telling her that she’s missed Joo Young! Joo Young acts annoyed and says that Hye Jin should know already. She hates cheesy things. She asks why Joo Young came back. Joo Young says she did so she wouldn't feel wronged. Even if they get discontinued, she thought she would feel less wronged if she personally sees it to the end. Ah Reum agrees.

From his desk, Poong Ho says that Sung Joon can't work without them, so what can they do? They have to come. Fist bump exchange between Poong Ho and Shin Hyuk for Poong Ho being so cool. Hye Jin surprises him and gives him one too.

Sung Joon enters, not wearing a suit. They greet him and instead of greeting them back he announces that they’ll have a full staff meeting in twenty minutes. What is he wearing? It looks like an overcoat with a puffy vest put on over it. But it’s part of the overcoat. Hye Jin is confused by this, but smiles because the gang’s back together.

In the conference room, Sung Joon enters, talking in English to someone on the phone. It’s news about the Leonard Kim interview… they’re going to do it. Massive cheering by everyone. Sung Joon just sits. Joo Young says that she has a concept for a pictorial that she thought of during her time off. Poong Ho sputters that the number of in..in..interviews he’s prepared is a thousand. A thousand! They give him a hard time and laugh.

Hye Jin’s VO says that there's such a thing as the Law of Luck describing the set quantity of luck, in which you will receive good fortune in the future equal to the amount of misfortune you currently face. This thankful Law tells us not to despair so quickly and hold on, since, if you experience some bad things, good things will be sure to come soon. Shin Hyuk looks a little emotional, but looking over at Hye Jin, he gives her a smile and is peppy Shin Hyuk again.

The team – minus Sung Joon – has gone out to eat. They’re enjoying chowing down. Joon Woo looks on his phone and says that the notice about Leonard Kim has been posted on their homepage! Lee Kyung declares that the click-through rate is crazy! Seon Min declares that people are really looking forward to it because he normally doesn't do interviews. Seol says that with all this, does this mean they will definitely become number one for their next issue? Joo Young admits that the Leonard Kim interview sounded crazy, but somehow, the Deputy Chief Editor did get him.

Shin Hyuk asks if they got together and all planned to come back at the same time. Poong Ho sighs and says that everyone has their own reasons, but he’s a bit of a special case. Hye Jin asks what he means. He says that Deputy Ji wanted to hang on to him so much that he came in person to speak to him. He was crying and all. There are knowing smiles – and it’s probably because Sung Joon talked personally to *all* of them. Poong Ho says that that day his neighborhood became such a sea of tears that people had to ride boats around! Boats!

Joo Young fake laughs and says that those boats came to her, too. Several other people agree. Poong Ho’s a little disappointed that he wasn’t so special after all. Shin Hyuk smiles to himself. Since he was the first one that Sung Joon came after… Joo Young says they should go all for it properly now and achieve the 1st place spot! Everyone cheers. Shin Hyuk proposes a toast and Eun Yung says it should be “Salute,” in a Most-like way. Everyone agrees. Salute!

Sung Joon enters his office to find a thermos and lunch bag on his desk. Hye Jin’s left him a note, giving him a hard time for working on the weekend. She adds that she’s organized the fashion from Leonard Kim's model times and what I felt after watching his recent movies. He opens the box and it’s rice with ‘strength’ in seaweed. He realizes that it’s still warm and runs out to catch her. Muffled conversation through the window and he catches her. He wants to eat together. She tells him to go back inside. She didn’t mean to bother him. He makes it a picnic anyway.

She says that she feel like she’s disrupting his work. He smiles and says they should just ditch work for two hours. He takes a bite and throws down his chopsticks. She’s worried that it’s terrible. Straight–faced he asks who told her to make it this delicious? He sighs and says from being a classmate-maniac, kiss-maniac, and now, she’s even a cooking-maniac? It's totally delicious. She smiles and he stuffs his face. She’s eager to feed him. The thermos has seaweed soup in it and he says it’s like it’s his birthday.

Sung Joon packs up the car while Hye Jin waves goodbye to the lake. He gets distracted by some people walking by and when he turns around, Hye Jin’s nowhere to be seen. He starts to get nervous as he looks for her. And he doesn’t have his phone. Eventually she runs up behind him and playfully grabs him. He was surprised, wasn’t he? Sung Joon is not smiling. He says that he thought she disappeared. She asks why she would disappear. She pulls him over to something pretty.

She sighs and pulls out her phone to take pictures. He still doesn’t look okay. She tells him that it seems like her heart is peaceful because she’s looking at the lake. He just looks at her. She reaches over and takes his hand. She tells him that he’s almost there so don't run so hard. Like this lake, they should calmly, calmly– She’s interrupted by a huge sneeze and grumbles about it being cold. This gives Sung Joon an opportunity to wrap his coat around her and hug her.

He says that starting from now, he will tell her something. She might say that he is being impatient.. that he is crazy too. She asks what’s wrong. He’s making her nervous. He says that after making the 20th anniversary edition a success and saving The Most, he's going to propose to her. Whoa! That is crazy and too fast. She doesn’t react. He says that he will do whatever he can to make it successful and he will definitely do that.

Empty Most offices. Sung Joon’s phone sits on his desk. As it starts to ring, Hye Jin’s VO says that there's such a thing as the Law of Luck describing the set quantity of luck, in which you will receive bad fortune in the future equal to the amount of fortune you currently face. It’s Leonard Kim calling.

Sung Joon tenderly puts Hye Jin’s hoodie on her head. She tells him that she wishes that he will succeed. Like he said, bringing the MOST magazine back alive, she also wishes that he will succeed in doing that. Is she saying that she’d accept that proposal?

He pulls her into a kiss and cradles the back of her head as he does. Episode ends with more kissing.

♫ Sometimes even though you think about me, sometimes even if you long for me ♫
♫ Sometimes even if you laugh at me, it's okay. ♫
♫ Because even if this feeling of longing is just love ♫
♫ I can't let you go. ♫

Thoughts

We still have the mystery of the Chairman’s son in place. I don’t think it’s Sung Joon, though, even though they really tried to fake us out this episode.

Sung Joon fainted from all the overwork and then everyone found out what he’d been hiding about the threat of The Most closing. I was a little verklempt when everyone was back at work. And how does Shin Hyuk know so much about Leonard Kim. What does that last VO mean about bad luck? Is Leonard Kim going to cancel? That would be bad because they posted his interview on their homepage.

It’s nice that Ha Ri and Sung Joon got to talk and she got to apologize. I wonder if this is going to lead to them being friends. I still say that Shin Hyuk and Sung Joon need to be roommates. And Shin Hyuk deserves an awesome girl since he didn’t get Hye Jin.

There’s more talk of Ten and you know that that’s going to be the scoop that’s going to end up in the 20th Anniversary issue and saving the day. Shin Hyuk will be the one to get it, too, since he’s connected and I think it’s his aunt, Ra Ra. Ra Ra said that her nephew – and it *was* a man – is going to be named a Director, so it’s not his position now. And Director is a step up from Feature Editor.

I did like that Sung Joon likes Hye Jin as is – he was happy to see her cheeks and called them cute.

I don’t know why the idea of her internship ending in three weeks bothered her in the least. The Most team has all the power and if they’re still around, of course, they’re going to have Hye Jin stay. They struggled when she wasn’t there, so she’s pretty indispensible.

I’m not totally on the ship yet, but they are cute together, and Sung Joon is making better choices with Hye Jin in his corner. Old Sung Joon wouldn’t have personally begged everyone to come back. That takes character. And it reflects how he honestly does want this venture to succeed. Not just because it’s his job on the line, but because it’s all of their jobs, too. I wonder how he got maneuvered into this in the first place. And what’s up with that jerk of a Boss. If The Most Fails, it will be your fault forever!!! He was there 3 months. What about all those previous years?
