Suspicious Housekeeper Episode 17 Recap

The episode begins with an upset Hye Gyul crying, telling Bok Nyeo that she hates her! She runs to Auntie for comfort and a crying Bok Nyeo leaves the room. Ji Hoon burns his Polaroid picture of Eun Soo. Sang Chul follows Bok Nyeo outside, where she is crying. He asks her back if she’s really not going to tell him what's going on? Bok Nyeo doesn’t respond but goes back into the house.

Sang Chul is hailed by Mrs. Nosy. She asks if something is going on Bok Nyeo. She’s been behaving suspiciously recently. She mentions how her tiny nose couldn’t get bigger. Heh. I love that she’s acknowledging that she’s nosy. She mentions how Bok Nyeo has washed all of Hye Gyul's summer clothes and ironed them. Like she’s not planning on being around to do it.

Sang Chul leaves Mrs. Nosy and goes to his room. He calls Director Hong. Bok Nyeo takes one last look around the kids' rooms. Sang Chul learns that Bok Nyeo plans on quitting, although Director Hong thought she had already given notice. Director Hong says she thinks Ji Hoon asked Bok Nyeo to quit and tomorrow, the pair are going to her father’s gravesite in her hometown. Director Hong assures Sang Chul that Bok Nyeo has already completed the change-over with the new housekeeper. Sang Chul can’t believe it, that she even did a change-over.

Auntie is telling Hye Gyul to let go of her anger towards Bok Nyeo, Han Gyul tells her that Bok Nyeo-nim was doing it for her benefit. Doo Gyul offers to make her something yummy. She’s still upset. Bok Nyeo comes down the stairs. Her face clearly shows that she feels bad that Hye Gyul is hurting. Auntie asks if Bok Nyeo is leaving. She says that she will leave for now. Auntie and Han Gyul try to get Hye Gyul to say goodbye but Hye Gyul repeats that she hates Bok Nyeo. She stomps off to her room and shuts the door.

Bok Nyeo leaves the house. Sang Chul comes running after her, telling her that he can’t let her go like that. He can't let her go since she looks like she’s going to her death. He tells her he knows she’s resigning. Then he asks if CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. She looks at him surprised. He begs her to tell him what she’s planning. She starts to remind him not to ask but he interrupts her. He begs her to distance herself from Ji Hoon, even though he's her husband or lover. Sang Chul says that his livelihood is tied to Ji Hoon and he has to worry about the children's safety, too. Sang Chul declares that he will definitely not let her go like this, because if she leaves this way, it feels as though they’ll never see her again. Bok Nyeo again has no reply.

Ji Hoon is meeting with his doctor, who tells him that if he overdoes it like this, it will become a big problem. Ji Hoon doesn’t see how one or two days can hurt things. Doctor tells him that the test results were bad. Ji Hoon says he’ll hear it when he gets back. He doesn’t want to ruin this trip. Doctor sighs at his stupid patient.

Sang Chul says that he’s giving her a request, a plea and an entreaty. Please stop. If something happens to her, how will he explain it to the children? Should he lie that he really didn't know anything? He begs her to tell him her plan and how he can help her. Yes, Bok Nyeo, tell him! There’s only a few episodes left before the series is over! Bok Nyeo doesn’t budge. He tells her that she can’t do this alone and if she kills Ji Hoon without any evidence, she will just become a murderer. Sang Chul threatens to tell the police if she doesn’t tell him.

Sang Chul says that there’s something suspicious about Detective Lee Tae Shik as well. Sang Chul asks if she’s been suspicious of Tae Shik as well. Bok Nyeo’s face says that she can’t believe that he’s gotten this far. Sang Chul says he’s been able to uncover somethings but he doesn’t have any definitive evidence of Tae Shik’s connection to Ji Hoon. Bok Nyeo replies that she’ll find it, during her trip. Sang Chul wants to know how. Those people have already crossed the line. They are capable of getting rid of her. No response. Isn’t she afraid of dying? Bok Nyeo answers, “Not really.” She’s not afraid of dying. She only fears dying before revealing the truth. Bok Nyeo gives her customary, “Crom / Then” and begins to walk away with Sang Chul staring after her.

Tae Shik has called Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon asks him if he’s in trouble already. So it must be a bad gambling problem. Tae Shik replies that it’s not that. He’s just feeling leery about them visiting Bok Nyeo’s hometown. Could it possibly be a trap? Oh no, don’t make him suspicious! Ji Hoon asks if anything strange happened. Tae Shik says that it’s just a feeling. EMIL keeps demanding a reinvestigation... Why would she be doing that after all this time? That woman is just evil. Tae Shik worries that there may be some trouble happening. Ji Hoon frowns.

That Woman is packing a suitcase. It’s late but Sang Chul has come by. She asks him why he’s there ar the late hour. He wants to talk. She says that she’ll come out but he wants to come in. I know he’s there to talk about Bok Nyeo. Thankfully. She looks really pretty with her hair like that.

Bok Nyeo walks down the street.

Sang Chul and Song Hwa sit in her living room. He asks her about knowing that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. If there's evidence that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon, she should tell him. She looks away from him and tells him that there isn't any, aside from him saying that he is Seo Ji Hoon. She adds that even if there was any evidence, she won't get involved. Since it's not the side that can win. Sang Chul tells her that he thinks Tae Shik is connected to Ji Hoon and that Bok Nyeo is in danger. That Woman clearly is torn but she protests that whoever CEO Jang is, or what happens to Bok Nyeo, none of it matters to me. From now on, she only going to look out for herself. She’s clearly emotional. Sang Chul tells her to call him if she changes her mind.

That Woman goes by Ji Hoon’s house, suitcase in tow. The Great Gatsby is sitting on the table. She tries looking for the picture but she’s caught. Ji Hoon says that he burned the picture, just in case she did something reckless. The ashes are still sitting on the table. She asks him why he called her. He says that he heard she was leaving so he thought he should keep his promise. Because she kept her mouth shut, everything is going well. He picks up the book, pulls out an envelope and hands it to her. He asks where she’s going. She says that she’s going to work for Habitat for Humanity. And they have Habitat for Humanity in Korea. She actually called it that. I thought that was a U.S. thing, but apparently not. That Woman explains that she’s planning on building homes for the homeless in only the *remotest* parts of the world, so he shouldn’t come looking for her. Ji Hoon chuckles and stare talks that kind of running away is Park Eun Soo's style.

Song Hwa replies that Bok Nyeo changed her a lot, from the woman, Yoon Song Hwa, to the human, Yoon Song Hwa. She smiles as she says it. Finally! Song Hwa tells him that even if there was a criminal investigation, she isn’t going to reveal the secret. He’s satisfied. She asks him about how he said that he wanted to see Bok Nyeo smile again and to change her back into the old Park Eun Soo. Smugly he asks if he said such a thing? She asks him what he’s planning on doing now. If he ends up dying, what's going to happen to Bok Nyeo? He pretends to think about it and answers. Can't he take her with him? And my skin crawls even more. You are just sick, dude! Song Hwa is horrifed. Ji Hoon asks her if she understands now, why he risked everything and came back. She tells him that he really is selfish. What he calls love... it's such a severe obsession. This gets Ji Hoon angry, so he tells her she can go. He has to leave anyway.

The kids, minus Bok Nyeo, go to visit Grandpa. Grandpa mentions how Hye Gyul got scolded and Hye Gyul asks him not to talk about Bok Nyeo, please, because then she’ll want to see Bok Nyeo, already. Even though the last time she saw Bok Nyeo she said that she hated her. Grandpa says that he’ll talk to Director Hong and find them a housekeeper 100 times better than Bok Nyeo! The kids are doubtful.

Song Hwa is leaving for the airport from Ji Hoon’s and sees Bok Nyeo waiting for his car. She’s clearly troubled as she gets in the taxi and leaves for Incheon Airport.

Ji Hoon gets in the car and asks Bok Nyeo about her expression. Even though it looks the same as it does every other day. He asks her if she slept restlessly. She says it was. When asked why, she adds that it was because she was excited about the trip. I can only imagine. Ji Hoon laughs at that. He puts in the address into his GPS. He tells her that her old house has been turned into a vacation home. Bok Nyeo says that she's heard from Director Hong. Ji Hoon declares that he made a reservation for them there. He muses that the most disliked men are pickpockets and the ones taking a day trip. Stalkers are hated more, dude. Stalkers are hated more. He asks if she wants it to be an overnight trip. Bok Nyeo doesn’t answer. He worries that he’s being too forward, so they can cancel, if she doesn’t want to. Bok Nyeo tells him that it’s okay.

Song Hwa is riding to the airport. She thinks about how Ji Hoon suggested that he would just take Bok Nyeo with him when he dies. It weighs on her. She tells him to turn the car around. She calls Sang Chul and meets him at a coffee shop. She asks Sang Chul what she needs to do. Sang Chul asks if there really isn’t evidence showing that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. Song Hwa mentions the picture, but Ji Hoon burned it. Song Hwa asks where the pair has gone. She surprised when Sang Chul says they’re going to Bok Nyeo’s hometown. Sang Chul says that Bok Nyeo is going to reveal that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon and to find evidence of the fact that he is in collusion with Detective Lee Tae Shik. Song Hwa worries that it will put Bok Nyeo in even more danger.

Bok Nyeo’s father’s grave. They’ve put out the typical fixings and Ji Hoon is pouring Dad (Park Min Soo) a drink. She looks at him and the disdain is evident. At least to me. Ji Hoon stands and tells Dad not to worry and that he’ll take very good care of. Bok Nyeo. She will definitely be smiling soon.

Walking back from the grave, Ji Hoon wonders what ‘Father-in-law’ would have thought about everything. Would he think that her unhappiness will end? Bok Nyeo answers that Dad would have said, “Grab hold of Jang Do Hyung and put an end to the misery you've had all this while.” Oh, Bok Nyeo, I love how you say one thing and we know it means another. She’s so smart to be able to do that! Ji Hoon smiles and takes Bok Nyeo’s hand. Bok Nyeo’s face reminds me how she told Song Hwa that she is using everything in her not to kill him with one swift chop.

Sang Chul declares that he’s going after Bok Nyeo and Ji Hoon. He asks Song Hwa to be the safety valve. Song Hwa asks my question: The safety valve? Sang Chul tells her to go to the police station and find Tae Sik. Song Hwa wonders why he’s saying that. Won’t that just end up with a repeat of what happened last time, especially since the two are connected? Sang Chul says that she should tell Tae Shik that they have definitive evidence showing that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. Song Hwa asks what she should do if Tae Shik asks for it. Sang Chul says to say he has it and that he hasn’t told her where it is. Song Hwa asks if Sang Chul is trying to buy some time. He is, because he wants to make sure that Bok Nyeo is safe. I don’t know if I like this plan. You’re tipping your hand too soon and Ji Hoon is too unstable.

Bok Nyeo and Ji Hoon arrive ar her old house. The caretaker says that he will be home if they need anything. Dang! It’s huge! But it turns out that it’s not her old house, but a new one built on the land. Ji Hoon wonders how Bok Nyeo feels; it’s a pity it’s not her old house. Well, since she was miserable in her old house… Bok Nyeo replies that just coming there with him makes her really happy. Ji Hoon tells her to look around while he goes and gets the luggage. It’s a two story with a long steep staircase. Perfect for throwing someone down… And there’s a sculpture that would be perfect for clubbing Ji Hoon over the head…

Switch to the tryouts for K-Pop Star 3 (The reality singing competition that airs on SBS – the station that also is airing ‘Suspicious Housekeeper.’ The big 3 of K-Pop – SM, YG and JYP – hold auditions for the next American, sorry, Korean idol.) The Butchers are there with the kids. Mr. Butcher asks why he’s so nervous! He needs to take a heart calming pill. Mrs. Butcher agrees. It’s about time for the kids to audition. Han Gyul sends Bok Nyeo a picture of the band – including Soo Hyuk – in front of the K-Pop Star logo. She says that it’s thanks to Bok Nyeo that they all got together and are about to try out. Bok Nyeo’s face actually looks happy.

And then the phone is taken out of her hands by Ji Hoon. He tells her that it’s cheating. While they’re there, she has to look only at him and think only about him. That’s not controlling at all… She sighs but holds it together. She asks what she should do about dinner. Ji Hoon answers that she didn’t come there to be the housekeeper. He’ll prepare dinner. As for her – he points to the couch – she can stay there 'frozen' until I tag you. He wants her to get some rest. Bok Nyeo asks if she can go out for a while. He makes sure that she’s not going to run away. That would be stupid since she’s driven all that way… He asks her what she wants to eat, even though the only thing he can make is kimchi stew. She’s fine with that, so Ji Hoon declares that he will make a killer kimchi stew. How killer?

The kids are auditioning. It’s a pretty song. But I want to know where the echo is coming from *since no one else is singing.* Am I in a Bollywood picture now? Soo Hyuk does some fancy playing. The kids are optimistic after their performance. The Butchers gush. Mr. Butcher loves the song and sings a few bars. Mrs. Butcher marvels at how her son must be happy since \a pretty girl like Han Gyul wrote a song about him being her first love. I roll as Han Gyul, Wol Bae and Soo Hyuk look awkwardly at each other. Mr. Butcher declares that every single word of the lyrics made him cry and if someone like Han Gyul became their daughter-in-law, he would feel like a person who eats only Korean beef all his life. Mr. Butcher muses that it’s because Wol Bae took after his father, the women see him as a cut above the rest. And he throws a little butcher lingo in there… Heh.

Mrs. Butcher teases that Wol Bae’s face is red. Han Gyul tries to say, without saying, that it’s not what they think. They ask who the song is about and there's awkward glances toward Soo Hyuk. This has become one of the most awkward scenes ever! Wol Bae takes off his guitar and leaves the room. And I feel so bad for him.

Soo Hyuk finds Wol Bae in the hall later. He tells Wol Bae that it’s because he’s pitiful that she's like that. It’s not that she likes him. It’s because because she’s so kindhearted, that she's taking pity. Wol Bae knows he’s full of crap. Wol Bae asks Soo Hyuk if he should just become pitiful then. Soo Hyuk doesn’t know how to answer him. Since the idea of Wol Bae being pitiful is inconceivable... Wol Bae asks Soo Hyuk that if he becomes a pitiful person, too, and gets suspended from school, too, is he saying that she will like him? They both know that it’s not that. Han Gyul’s around the corner, eavesdropping on everything, feeling bad because she feels bad for Wol Bae, too.

Grandpa’s about to step out while the kids have tea. Auntie says that a guest is coming. Who? Director Hong, of course. She doesn’t smile at him and he’s shocked that she’s in his house. Auntie asked Director Hong over. After getting the pair tea, Auntie tells Grandpa that the kids should know about their relationship. Grandpa sputters, “What relationship?” Director Hong looks absolutely furious as Grandpa declares that there isn't anything between them aside from drinking a bowl of soup and soondaeguk. Auntie asks Grandpa if talking about her getting married was empty words. How can she leave him alone and just get married? Auntie tells Grandpa that he can just say he’s helping her.

Grandpa snarks at Director Hong that she’s just eating up this idea, which is why she came running right away when Auntie suggested it. Director Hong is so over it. She mutters that it’s also kimchi stew. Ironic that that’s what Ji Hoon’s making for Bok Nyeo. Director Hong declares that she came there because of Bok Nyeo, not him, since Bok Nyeo’s said that she's getting married and so she's going to stop working. This is news to the kids. Director Hong said that Sang Chul called her asking what's happening. He was really worried about Bok Nyeo. He asked for the address, too.

Director Hong declares that she couldn’t sleep a wink because of it and in the morning, Bok Nyeo slipped an envelope full of under her door. Director Hong wonders what it means. Now Bok Nyeo isn’t even answering her calls. We know that’s because Ji Hoon took her phone. The butthead. Director Hong says that she’s so worried about what is happening to Bok Nyeo and this family that she had to come there. Grandpa laughs and tells her that she has some good excuses! She glares at him. Oh, Grandpa. Stop playing hard to get. She is going to kick you to the curb if you’re not careful. What she really needs to do is find a male friend to make Grandpa jealous.

Grandpa mutters that Bok Nyeo’s probably just fooling around with CEO Jang and not answering her phone. Han Gyul tells Doo Gyul that she wants to call Bok Nyeo; she has something to tell her. Bok Nyeo is out on the porch. Ominous music plays. Is she thinking back to her youth? She spots a ladder tall enough to reach the second floor’s balcony. Is she planning on making it look like Ji Hoon killed her? Hye Gyul calls on Doo Gyul’s phone. So Bok Nyeo got her phone back.

Hye Gyul says that she called to make peace with Bok Nyeo and asks if Bok Nyeo is resigning because she’s mad at Hye Gyul. Aw, little kids… Bok Nyeo looks like she’s about to cry, her eyes shiny. Bok Nyeo tells her that that’s not the reason. Hye Gyul tells bnyep that she is regretting giving her up to Uncle. Uncle says he has nightmares every night because Bok Nyeo-nim is gone and he turns into a monster. That's why she yielded. Hye Gyul says that she doesn’t need the dolls, so can Bok Nyeo just come to her? Emotional, Bok Nyeo says that she is going to hang up. Hye Gyul cries her name and Bok Nyeo pauses a moment and then hangs up. Hye Gyul weeps with her head on the table.

Director Hong comforts her. She can’t believe that Ji Hoon said that to Hye Gyul. Neither can Grandpa. But he’s even more upset with Bok Nyeo for making the kids get so attached with her! And then not marrying their dad!

Ji Hoon’s making eggs and kimchi soup. Bok Nyeo enters and says that she will cook. She starts washing her hands and he comes over and ‘helps’ her. She glances over at the butcher’s knife on the counter. Ji Hoon tells her that her hands are cold, practically frozen. He asks her what she was doing outside for so long. It’s suspicious.

Ji Hoon wipes her hands dry and then takes her face in his hands. She sigh. He takes her face in his hands and she looks at him with a look that says, “What are you doing?” He smiles and removes the scarf around his neck and wraps it around her. All the better to strangle you with, my dear. He steps forward and starts to lean in to kiss her. She chimes up that the food will burn. He tells her to let it burn. Again, he closes in for a kiss. The phone rings. And saved by the bell.

Bok Nyeo asks Ji Hoon to answer it. He says he doesn't want to. It's not the time to be answering the phone. She brings up the caretaker and says that he’ll come up if no one answers (to check on them). He groans and answers the phone. It is the caretaker. He tells Ji Hoon that he forgot to mention it. If Ji Hoon goes up to the attic, there will be a container of gasoline. Who keeps gasoline IN THE ATTIC? Caretaker is letting him know in case they need some more. And I have this awful feeling that Ji Hoon is going to try to burn the house down with both of them in it. Bok Nyeo takes care of the food.

Sang Chul is driving to save Bok Nyeo. He’s not going fast enough, so he speeds up.

Ji Hoon is out in the attic. There are 3 containers of gasoline. He grabs one.

Tae Shik gets a phone call. He doesn’t like what he hears. He runs and gets into his car. He’s driving, trying to call Ji Hoon, who is not answering his phone. Tae Shik gets another call. It’s Song Hwa at the police station. She reminds them that they met. She tells him that she has evidence that CEO Jang Do Hyung is Seo Ji Hoon. Tae Shik grimaces a swear word. He tries to be casual as he asks what the evidence is. She tells him that she wants to meet in person. He tells her that he has an urgent investigation at the moment. Can she come to the police station tomorrow? She tells him she’s at the police station right now. Tae Shik swears some more in his head.

Ji Hoon enters the house with the gasoline and leaves it by the front door. He gets frantic for a moment, like she’s gone, but she’s really just gone upstairs to change. He’s practically dumb struck as she walks down the stairs in a dressy white shirt and black pants. He tells her she’s making him excited. Creeper! She doesn’t say anything.

Dinner is done and they’re drinking red wine. “What Will I Do?” plays in the background. Ji Hoon smiles at her. She picks up their glasses and takes them to the kitchen. He follows her and starts to put his arms around her. She says, “I’m sorry, but,” which makes him stop. She asks him to sit down, please. He tells her that he’s doing it to help her. She replies that she doesn’t like anyone standing behind her back. He didn’t know that.

Bok Nyeo is finished with the dishes. Ji Hoon asks her if she wants to go back to Seoul. He seems to be the only one excited about this. It seems as if she still sees him as Seo Ji Hoon. She answers that it’s not that. He’s surprised and excited at that answer. Really? She asks him if he minds her taking a shower first. He doesn’t mind. He says that he will stay there 'frozen.' He’s too excited.

Upstairs, the shower is running. Bok Nyeo looks at it. Ji Hoon is downstairs happily waiting. Bok Nyeo picks up that statue and clubs him on the head to knock him out. He wakes up tied up, with blood running down the side of his face. There’s a camera on him. Angrily he asks her if it was all for this? Bringing him there? She starts recording and says, “November 15, 2008.” She’s says she’ll start asking questions about Seo Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon replies that it’s sad, since he thought she had already closed that thought. She replies that she was going to. But, because of his obsession with her, someone else might get hurt. He replies that it was obsession, a type of serious obsession, but what can she find out through this questioning?

Bok Nyeo replies that she is going to ask him about the crime technique... how he escaped... how he hid his identity. There are so many things that she needs to hear. He asks her if she will tell him how those people died. Like he doesn’t know. She tells him that she will give him time, so please try to remember it fully. From beginning to end. Ji Hoon says that if he were to confess, then there's something he should know.

Bok Nyeo starts: With threats of killing himself, he called her out of the house. With her son, he used the familiarity of being known as an uncle and got into the house. Then he used ropes you use for mountain climbing, to tied up her son. Ji Hoon sighs and looks down. Then he looks straight into the camera and says that he is Seo Ji Hoon. Miss Park Bok Nyeo, no, Miss Park Eun Soo... The one who killed her husband and son by arson, he is that Seo Ji Hoon. He threatened her with killing himself... After calling Park Eun Soo out, he used her son's familiarity to enter their house. And, with his mountain climbing ropes, he tied up her son. And he’s only repeating back what she’s said.

Ji Hoon smiles and asks Bok Nyeo what he should say next. Bok Nyeo answers that he should know what happened after that. He looks at her and asks what he should do. He only knows whatever she says. Bok Nyeo is pained at how he’s continuing to lie. He asks her if he should use his imagination to tell the story as how he wants it? But the recording? It can't be used as legal proof. And he hasn’t voluntarily said any of this. He tells her that she is scary. She’s being like that just for a measly confession? While the person that she likes is having a hard time?

Ji Hoon says Bok Nyeo doesn’t have it yet, right? Even at this moment, the fact that he is Seo Ji Hoon... If she had the proof, then she would have already killed him. She could have done that anytime. Bok Nyeo replies that it’s very easy to kill. Ji Hoon starts to look angry, rather than smiling. Bok Nyeo says that it’s very hard to prove that he is Seo Ji Hoon. He looks at her and angrily asks if she has one now? A way to prove it? What is she going to earn by this?!

Bok Nyeo says, “Seo Ji Hoon, this is your last chance.” He should confess and beg for forgiveness. It's his last chance. With menace, Ji Hoon says that he wishes she knew what 'last' means. His patience also has its limits. Bok Nyeo says, with almost a smile on her lips, that the talking is done. His last chance, too. He asks what’s going to happen after this, since she’s not going to kill him. She couldn't even kill a bug outside. Bok Nyeo says that she has a person who can testify that he’s Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon blanches a little at that. She says that he’s on his way there, right now. Ji Hoon looks at the camera, worried. Bok Nyeo says that it’s Detective Lee Tae Shik.

Ji Hoon tries to act like he’s not worried as he asks who she said was coming. Instead of answering, she plays him that voice mail that she put together where he says, “ It's me. Jang Do Hyung. It's an urgent matter. Right now, you have to come here.”

Flashback to Bok Nyeo taking Ji Hoon’s phone, calling Tae Shik. The scene we see where he answers the phone at work. She plays the message and then hangs up. He calls back immediately, but she turns off the phone. And I'm really impressed with the clarity of sound coming from those speakers.

Ji Hoon is starting to worry. Tae Shik is still driving in his car and calls again. Ji Hoon can only look at the phone. She turns the phone off again. She asks Ji Hoon what he thinks will happen when Tae Shik comes. Ji Hoon blusters that it doesn’t matter if Tae Shik comes. Even though you didn’t tell him where to go, you just said ‘come here.’ So if he didn’t already know, how would he be able to get there? Know where to go? Ji Hoon blusters that they both were investigated by that detective. What would be strange about Tae Shik coming there after he called? Bok Nyeo tells him that it will become something strange.

Tae Shik tries calling but Ji Hoon’s phone is still off. Tae Shik says to himself, “Seo Ji Hoon... What did you spill? What exactly did they find out?” He’s really freaking out.

Flashback. Four years ago. Tae Shik gets out of his car and goes to knock on the window of another car, calling out Ji Hoon’s name and asking him how long he thinks he can run away. But Ji Hoon won’t open up and instead takes off again. Tae Shik follows him and there’s a car chase. Which ends with Tae Shik swerving into the oncoming lane and hitting and killing a bicyclist. Tae Shik is devastated. The man is dead. Tae Shik pulls out the guy’s wallet and checks out the ID. He’s Zhang Dao Jiong from China. Ji Hoon walks up and smarms about Tae Shik not killing someone, did he? Tae Shik looks up at him, horrified. Ji Hoon says, “I know, right? Who told you to chase me?”

Present. Tae Shik speeds up. Phone call from the station. Song Hwa is still there. The guy says that Song Hwa will only leave if Tae Shik comes to the station. Tae Shik sighs with frustration as he hears her tell the detective to pass on that she’s planning on waiting until Tae Shik can come here?

Ji Hoon tells Bok Nyeo that this all is stupid. Her calling Tae Shik. Bok Nyeo said that she has to call Tae Shik in order for Tae Shik to testify that he is Seo Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon replies that Tae Shik will be on his side and what is she going to do when he supports the victim. Victim? Well, at least we know what Ji Hoon has on him. Accidental manslaughter. The guy should have just called and taken his hit. Up till then he was hunting Ji Hoon down, doing the right thing… Ji Hoon is practically crooning as he asks how she’s going to prove it when Tae Shik is on his side. Doesn’t she know that by doing all this, she will only be the one in danger? Ji Hoon thinks he has her. He’s smirking. In response, Bok Nyeo unties the ribbon around her neck and rips her shirt.

Tae Shik arrives at the house. Bok Nyeo stumbles out of the house, her sleeve ripped and a cut on her face. She looks desperate. Ji Hoon is in the house, still tied up with tape over his mouth. Bok Nyeo gets in the car and drives, encountering Tae Shik on the road. She runs up to him, begging Tae Shik to please save her! A desperate Bok Nyeo declares that Jang Do Hyung is planning on killing her! She sputters that he is Seo Ji Hoon! Tae Shik wonders internally if she found out everything. What on earth did Ji Hoon do?

Bok Nyeo begs Tae Shik again to please save her! Tae Shik tells her to get in his car. She emotionally gasps and climbs in. In the car, she quivers, like she’s just been through a trauma. Tae Shik declares that Ji Hoon is such a terrible guy. Which he is. Just saying. Tae Shik declares that Ji Hoon even deceived him and lived as Jang Do Hyung.

Back at the house, Ji Hoon is still struggling – although I don’t know why he hasn’t tried knocking himself over. He could try to break the chair or wiggle out of it… Ji Hoon wills Tae Shik not to say anything! And the camera is still recording.

Bok Nyeo and Tae Shik arrive back at the house. Bok Nyeo hesitates and when Tae Shik asks, she declares that she’s afraid of Ji Hoon... that person. Tae Shik tells her to stay there and he will find him. Bok Nyeo agrees. Tae Shik quietly enters the house. Bok Nyeo looks over at the ladder by the balcony.

Inside, Tae Shik finds the tied up Ji Hoon. He asks Ji Hoon what happened. Ji Hoon still has that tape over his mouth, but he motions at the camera. Tae Shik shuts it off. Then he rips the tape off Ji Hoon’s mouth. Ji Hoon immediately declares that he didn’t call Tae Shik! It was Park Eun Soo! So, don't say anything. Tae Shik starts to untie Ji Hoon, telling him to explain exactly what’s going on. If Park Eun Soo had found out that he’s Seo Ji Hoon, she would've run like crazy. Who tied him up?

Ji Hoon asks where Park Eun Soo is, right now? Tae Shik declares that she’s waiting outside. Ji Hoon tells him to close his mouth and bring her here. Ji Hoon says that he never acknowledged that he is Seo Ji Hoon. Not yet. Tae Shik asks if that’s true. He hasn’t revealed that he’s Seo Ji Hoon and that Tae Shik had something to do with it? Is Ji Hoon sure he didn't tell? Ji Hoon snaps that he said so! And what they both don’t know is that there’s another camera that’s recording EVERYTHING right now.

Ji Hoon declares that it’s still all right. He can overturn this somehow. Ji Hoon snaps that that’s why, starting from now, Tae Shik needs to get ahold of his senses and shut up! Tae Shik declares that he understands and hurries outside to get Bok Nyeo. Upstairs, Bok Nyeo downloads the video to her phone. Outside, Tae Shik desperately looks for Bok Nyeo and finally sees the ladder. My Dad has that ladder.

Ji Hoon’s finally out of the ropes and he spies the other camera. He knows she's gotten something she can use. Bok Nyeo comes downstairs. He glares at her.

Sang Chul arrives at the house. A message from Bok Nyeo. The video.

Inside, Bok Nyeo looks at Ji Hoon. He angrily sums up things. It's not that she likes him, but... this… she did it for this? She replies that that’s correct, she played for that. The way to prove he’s him, the way to end him. And the look on his face says that’s monster’s coming out. The episode ends with them looking at each other.

Thoughts

I end this episode knowing that we had some major developments in things but feeling like not much happened. I'm not really on the edge of my seat either. I feel kind of 'meh.' Hopefully the next episode will be more engaging.

I've started calling Song Hwa 'Song Hwa' again, instead of 'That Woman,' because she's actually acting like a human being who cares about others, rather than someone only out for herself. What exactly *is* Ji Hoon holding over her head? That she has to worried about being a dead parrot?

I don't feel badly for Ji Hoon at all, because what's deep down is twisted and ugly. I'm just glad that Bok Nyeo didn't have to kiss him before her ruse was exposed. I'm also glad that she got an uncoerced confession that Ji Hoon is who he says he is, with Tae Shik in the picture, so that EMIL will see what a royal witch she's been for years. I still can't believe that Tae Shik didn't just fess up to the accident. And clever of her to send the video to Sang Chul, the proof, in case something happened to her with the pyschopath.

We saw the kids try out for K-Pop Star and poor Wol Bae got to be embarrassed because Han Gyul like Soo Hyuk. I hope that Soo Hyuk will finally stop being stupid and date Han Gyul properly. What I really hope is that the Butchers decide to adopt him so that he has parents that are there for him rather than Scumdad and absent Mom.

I know I said this earlier, but who was singing the echo during their song?

I'm wonder what's going to happen in the next episode, since that gasoline is still by the front door. Sang Chul has arrived, so at least Bok Nyeo's not going to be facing those two by herself.
