Suspicious Housekeeper Episode 15 Recap

It’s been a while since I’ve watched this series, but I’m picking up where I left off… The episode begins with Bok Nyeo holding out the marriage application. Sang Chul just awkwardly looks at her. She tells him that since the date has expired, she'll say it never happened. Sang Chul can throw it away or rip it up, whatever he wants. Han Gyul asks if Bok Nyeo’s picking CEO Jang instead of Sang Chul. She answers that she is. Sang Chul asks if she’s really going to date Ji Hoon and she says that she’s going to do it *well,* too. None of the family likes that answer, including Sang Chul.

Bok Nyeo leaves the house and gets in Ji Hoon's car, although her face looks like Ji Hoon makes her skin crawl. Ji Hoon is happy. The kids, who have followed her outside, are not. They’re worried. As they drive away, Ji Hoon asks about what Bok Nyeo’s wearing. Is it a uniform or something, since she wears it every day? He says that he thought that this was a date, but maybe that was just him. I hate how practically everything out of this guy’s mouth is a manipulation. Bok Nyeo answers that it’s a date. Mr. Jang Do Hyung's and her first date. He looks at her and then smiles to himself.

They go to the movies and watch a comedy. Everyone – but Bok Nyeo – is laughing. He gives her a hard time about not eating the popcorn. They’re spotted in the theatre by Mr. and Mrs. Butcher. Who are out on a date. Aw, I like that Mrs. Butcher is now being nice to her husband. I bet he would have taken her out a long time ago if she had been nicer. Mrs. Butcher wonders if Bok Nyeo is two-timing Sang Chul, since they’re supposed to be getting married, but Mr. Butcher mutters that she’s not that type of woman. Aw. Mrs. Butcher remarks that Bok Nyeo on a date is more interesting than watching the movie. Heh.

After the movie, Ji Hoon declares that they think alike. Because apparently her silence means that she didn’t like the movie. Bok Nyeo looks at him and steps closer. His smile disappears and he looks a little nervous. She asks him to close his eyes for a moment. He does and removes a kernel of popcorn from *his eyebrow*. How it got there, I don’t know. Bok Nyeo takes off walking and Ji Hoon follows her with a smile on his face.

Ji Hoon and Bok Nyeo arrive at a nice restaurant – as evidenced by the piano music playing. Ji Hoon removes his jacket and gives it to the maître d’, saying that Bok Nyeo will keep hers since she gets cold easily. But Bok Nyeo stops the maitre d’ and gives him her coat and ball cap. Ji Hoon looks a bit flustered. She asks him why he thought she wouldn’t take off her coat. He blinks and tries to smile.

At dinner, Ji Hoon is enjoying himself. Bok Nyeo has yet to touch her food. I guess he doesn’t know about her habit of ordering food and then not eating it. Ji Hoon tells her that he’s seeing many sides of her today. She replies that since she’s not working, she’s not wearing the cap or jacket. He asks her if she’ll show him her smile, too? Bok Nyeo replies that that is something she cannot do. He tries to manipulate her by asking if she’s refusing to do so because she still doesn’t like him. And because she’s immune to his machinations… Bok Nyeo replies that it would seem like she’s too easy if she smiled on the first date. Heh. Ji Hoon asks if she’s going to smile on the next date and Bok Nyeo replies that it will depend on how he acts. He laughs and asks if she just approved them going out a second time.

Gyul Family House. The kids are somber as they eat breakfast. Doo Gyul in particular, doesn’t look happy. Han Gyul asks if the date went well. The kids start asking what she did, but Bok Nyeo changes the subject to how Hye Gyul is holding her chopsticks. Sang Chul comes out and he doesn’t look happy either. Se Gyul tries to go back to the date, but Bok Nyeo asks about his upcoming English vocabulary test; did he memorize them all? Doo Gyul can’t wait any longer. He asks whether Bok Nyeo agreed to a second date. Bok Nyeo shuts him down, requesting that they make no further inquiries into her personal matters, please, because she doesn’t want to receive any more unnecessary meddling. Ouch. That was a bit harsh. Bok Nyeo goes into the kitchen.

Bok Nyeo walks Sang Chul out as he leaves for work. He has to say something, and he doesn’t want her to mistake it for jealousy, but he has no choice. Why would she mistake it for jealousy? You had your opportunity to marry her and you didn’t take it. That says you’re not interested, dude. Sang Chul says that he doesn’t understand it. She was so enraged when she first met Ji Hoon. How can her feelings become so favorable toward him, after that? Bok Nyeo replies that it’s because he asked her. Sang Chul’s confused. And so am I. She says that Ji Hoon asks about her clothes, hat, the things she wants, what she likes to eat, where she wants to go, in detail. That's how deep of an interest he showed to her. Wow, that’s a double slam. It’s like she’s saying that Sang Chul never cared about those things, even though she’s always given him and the family a keep out message when asking anything personal. She asks him if she answered his question and all Sang Chul can do is self-consciously answer, ‘yes.’

Inside, Han Gyul approaches Bok Nyeo in the kitchen and asks why she had such a sudden change of heart. Bok Nyeo replies that Ji Hoon seems unhappier than he looks. Bok Nyeo asks Han Gyul if she would understand if Bok Nyeo said that she wanted to end his misery. Which really doesn’t make sense to me. Why would you want to end the misery of the man who murdered your family? And caused all these years of pain? Han Gyul says she does, but she wants to make sure that Bok Nyeo knows how they feel. They hate seeing her have a hard time. But if Bok Nyeo really does like him, they’ll cheer her on. Bok Nyeo almost looks emotional as she says “Thank you.”

Gatsby Investment. Ji Hoon is happily looking over documents, a big smile on his face. That Woman enters and asks if something good happened. He replies that it’s all thanks to That Woman disarming Bok Nyeo that he went on his first date with Bok Nyeo... no, he means with Park Eun Soo. That Woman can’t believe it. Ji Hoon commends her on following orders well since Bok Nyeo is still clueless about who he really is. That Woman replies that it’s because she doesn’t live two lives. Whatever. You are so deluded about yourself. You’re not living two lives? Pretending to be a nice person, someone Sang Chul has wronged, when you’re the one who’s worse. Arg! I really hate this woman. And I wonder why Wang Ji Hye keeps playing parts like her, since I like her as an actress. Ji Hoon reminds That Woman that she has too much to lose and nothing to gain if she talks. Isn't that right? That Woman swallows uncomfortably.

That Woman walks down the hall like she’s going to her own funeral. She thinks about what Ji Hoon said. Bok Nyeo calls.

Director Hong is waiting for Bok Nyeo. When Bok Nyeo arrives, Director Hong asks if it’s true that Bok Nyeo really went out with Ji Hoon. She’s shocked when Bok Nyeo says, “yes.” Bok Nyeo declares that she can't live with the ghost of Seo Ji Hoon forever. That's ominous. What's she thinking? Director Hong is happy that she’s moving on. Although, I would have thought she wouldn’t be because the person she’s moving on with is Ji Hoon. Director Hong adds that she doesn’t think Sang Chul likes Bok Nyeo anyway, so a guy who likes her is better. Director Hong is surprised though, because she thought that Bok Nyeo was suspicious of Ji Hoon. She says that she worried a lot. Bok Nyeo tells Director Hong not to worry about her anymore but to worry about Orabeoni “Kkwabaegi,” (twisted doughnut), who's approaching. And Grandpa bursts through the door, startling Director Hong.

Grandpa starts yelling at Bok Nyeo for having an affair! That gives Director Hong a chance to yell at Grandpa for throwing a fit again. Director Hong declares that there would have to *be* something between Sang Chul and Bok Nyeo for there to be an affair. Grandpa sputters about Bok Nyeo saying she was going to be the kids' mother. Grandpa declares that he knew this would happen! After stirring up the kids' hearts with her stories and circumstances, she has no sense of responsibility! Director Hong declares that hands have to clap together to make sound and a girl can hold onto the guy's legs for only so long. Since Sang Chul didn’t want to, Bok Nyeo’s going to move on!

Grandpa protests that Bok Nyeo should have at least waited a little! Director Hong snaps at him what the proper amount of time would have been: 48 years? Heh. Nice little dig. Grandpa is shocked at the ferocity of her words and asks why '48 years' is being mentioned. Director Hong snaps that the guy is running away, saying he doesn't want it. Why should Bok Nyeo wait, not knowing when he'll return! For *what* is she waiting when all she gets is to be treated like a housekeeper? Grandpa is completely flummoxed by how Director Hong is acting. That’s because you screwed things up 48 years ago and you still have yet to really even apologize.

Director Hong asks Grandpa if he’s saying that a housekeeper shouldn't have any pride? And we (she uses ‘we’ here, lumping herself in with Bok Nyeo) should just live all alone while you guys get married AND make a family AND have children AND become a Chairman? Is THAT WHAT HE’S SAYING!? Grandpa calls Director Hong ‘Na Mi’ and asks her why she’s acting like this. Then he notices that her brooch is gone (the one he gave her). She won’t answer when he asks where it is. Bok Nyeo declares that they both are far too old to be playing “push and pull” (hard to get). They should stop worrying about the young people and plan for their own future. Then she leaves then eyeballing each other.

Bok Nyeo meets That Woman at a coffee shop. Bok Nyeo passes her the miscellaneous materials file. Whatever that is. That Woman asks if this is why Bok Nyeo wanted to see her. Bok Nyeo admits that she saw That Woman with Ji Hoon the night of the bidding. That Woman can only sit there and blink with her mouth open as Bok Nyeo declares that she knows that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. That Woman can’t believe that Bok Nyeo went on a date with Ji Hoon if she knew he was Ji Hoon. Bok Nyeo declares that’s *why* she went on the date. That Woman protests that Ji Hoon is not an ordinary person. How could she have gone on a date when anything could have happened? That Woman asks what Bok Nyeo’s planning.

Bok Nyeo says that she wanted to meet That Woman to tell Song Hwa not to do anything careless. Bok Nyeo declares that she’s going to be the one to make the move on Ji Hoon. She just needs That Woman to continue to do what Ji Hoon tells her to do. At least until Bok Nyeo hears from him everything that she needs to hear from him. That Woman asks if Bok Nyeo is trying to get a confession. Bok Nyeo doesn’t answer. Bok Nyeo asks That Woman not to tell Sang Chul about her plan or that CEO Jang is Ji Hoon. That Woman is concerned! Which I am surprised at, considering how wrapped up in herself she is.

Ji Hoon is outside, pacing on the sidewalk. Not stalkerish at all. Ah, he’s waiting for Bok Nyeo at the playground. When he sees Bok Nyeo, he asks her if she’s been well. These days, he feels like he’s going to die, because he thinks about her all day long. Again, not stalkerish. Ji Hoon asks her if she thinks about him. She says, “Sometimes.” Because he’s obsessed with her, he just has to know: What did she think about today? Bok Nyeo says, "What clothes will he wear?" "Where would he want to go?" "What questions will he ask?" He says that she’s been thinking about him a lot. It makes him feel happy. Ji Hoon declares that thoughts turn into interest and interest turns into affection. For normal people, but you’re a stalker… so… Bok Nyeo replies that she simply just thought about him. He groans.

Ji Hoon asks Bok Nyeo why she didn't answer her phone this afternoon. It can make a person feel crazy. Dude, even if you weren’t Ji Hoon, I would still think you’re a stalker. That’s too much! The relationship has just barely started and you're being obsessive about her answering your calls? Bok Nyeo declares that during work she doesn't take calls. He protests about all the calls that went into voicemail. How often did you call her, dude? Bok Nyeo responds that this is how she found out how nice his voice is. He laughs at that one. Bok Nyeo just looks at him.

Gyuls' House. Bok Nyeo is preparing food and her phone tinkles that she’s got a new voicemail message. Bok Nyeo listens to it. Ji Hoon identifies himself (as Jang Do Hyung). He says that he feels as if he’s going to die, because of her. If they don't date, he may really die. Does she want to go to Chinatown this Sunday? What is she thinking as she hangs up the phone? He’s a total stalker? At least she’s being cold to the family she loves so they’ll be safe.

Doo Gyul is in the kitchen and declares, to Hye Gyul, that on Sunday, Oppa is the chef! She’s eating up playing along. Doo Gyul declares that he’s going to make curry, just like Mom did on Sundays. Hye Gyul’s excited and tells him to make it quickly! Doo Gyul asks if that’s an order? He’ll carry out her order. Too cute when they imitate Bok Nyeo!

Bok Nyeo’s driving with Ji Hoon. He mentions her clothes again. He’s not wearing a suit. He asks her if she doesn’t like his look and she says that he appears to be much cuter. He giggles.

Doo Gyul, Se Gyul and Hye Gyul are discussing messing with Bok Nyeo’s date with Ji Hoon.

Ji Hoon and Bok Nyeo are walking in Chinatown. Ji Hoon asks if she’s ever been there. Because his father didn't give up on being North Korean, they ended up staying as Chinese citizens, but his heart was always here. A little double meaning there? For your fictional back story, I mean? Bok Nyeo’s phone rings. Doo Gyul asks her where they have the right meat to make curry. Samgyeopsal (pork belly meat) can't be used, right? Bok Nyeo tells him where to find the meat in the refrigerator. Doo Gyul imitates her, saying he understands, and hangs up the phone, revealing that he’s already gotten the meat.

Ji Hoon asks Bok Nyeo whether it bothers her when they call her on her day off. It doesn’t. He asks her how long she’s going to keep working. She should just quit, considering Gatsby Investment CEO's position. Because you’ve been on one date, let’s go get married now! The phone rings again. Ji Hoon sighs, irritated. It’s Hye Gyul, asking where the crochet thread is. Bok Nyeo directs her to where the thread is in her room. Before Bok Nyeo can hang up, Hye Gyul declares that she misses Bok Nyeo. This gets to Bok Nyeo. Hye Gyul declares that she’s hanging up now. Bok Nyeo softly answers, “Okay.” She puts away her phone.

Ji Hoon asks if her relationship with Hye Gyul is a mother-daughter relationship? It’s making him jealous. It seems like they can't live without each other. She looks at him and innocently declares that she guesses that she’s popular...with the children.

Sang Chul and That Woman are at the site of their Chinatown Remodeling project, working.

Ji Hoon and Bok Nyeo arrive at a bench and Ji Hoon suggests they sit. He declares that it feels like he’s dating a married woman. He wants her to stop answering the calls. She looks at him and the phone rings. Ji Hoon groans and walks away from the bench. Se Gyul apologizes for calling on Bok Nyeo on her date – even though he and Hye Gyul and Doo Gyul are smiling – but Bok Nyeo tells him it’s fine. He asks her if she’ll be able to come to a math competition with him the next week. When she gets off the phone, she looks around and Ji Hoon is gone.

Han Gyul as gone to talk with Soo Hyuk. She wants him to audition with her for ‘K-Pop Star.’ He tells her that she’s the one who should audition, since she has such big dreams. He turns to go when Han Gyul calls after him that Bok Nyeo asked her whether she loves music or him. He stops to turn around and look at her. She tells him that it’s both. And even though he tries to look unaffected, he reacts. Hye Gyul declares that the sunbae who likes music, she likes him. Han Gyul tells him that if he doesn't want to lose both, he needs to decide, because she can't take seeing him like this any longer. Soo Hyuk turns away, partially because looking at her any longer will make him break. He calls her a punk, asking if she calls that a confession. She should only like one of those two things. Then he enters the BAR, leaving her outside.

Sang Chul and That Woman are walking, still surveying the site, when they come across Bok Nyeo sitting on the bench. Did Ji Hoon do that on purpose, knowing that the pair would be at the Chinatown project work site? They’re surprised to see her. When they ask, she says that she’s waiting for Ji Hoon to return. Sang Chul asks where Ji Hoon went and she says that she doesn’t know. Sang Chul is appalled and asks how long she’s been sitting there. She says it’s been quite a bit. Sang Chul calls Ji Hoon but gets no answer, so he wonders how Ji Hoon can leave a woman alone like that. That Woman has a flash of when she found Ji Hoon in the car, barely able to move. She goes looking for him.

That Woman finds Ji Hoon in pain and panting, sitting on some steps. She asks him if he’s doing this so his illness won’t be discovered by Bok Nyeo. He gasps, asking if she’s still sitting there. That Woman replies that Bok Nyeo’s been eagerly waiting, looking like she's been stood up, pale-faced. Bok Nyeo was anxious, wondering if he was mad at her. That Woman wonders if Bok Nyeo could have started truly liking Ji Hoon. Even though she knows that isn’t the truth at all. At least she’s playing her part well. He looks at her and smiles at that thought, even though he’s in pain.

Sang Chul is driving Bok Nyeo. He asks if she still suspects that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. Bok Nyeo answers, “No.” Which is the truth, since she *knows* he’s Ji Hoon now. No more suspicions. Sang Chul mentions how she’s taught Hye Gyul a lot of things, as if to prepare Hye Gyul for a time when Bok Nyeo isn’t there anymore. He asks if she’s thinking some strange (bad) thoughts. After a pause, where Bok Nyeo looks sad, she replies that it’s nothing of that sort. The conversation falls silent.

Bok Nyeo is now outside Ji Hoon’s house. He arrives home and ignores her. She asks him if she did something wrong. He turns around and tells her that she was only fascinating for a day or two. He calls her dangerous and says that she’s no longer interesting. And that’s why you said that you were going to die if you two didn’t date? Come on. He asks why he needs to keep on seeing such a person. He tells her that if she understands what he’s saying, she should go on her way. Bok Nyeo asks him if he can’t just forget that she suspected him. She says that she realized while she was waiting that if he had been Seo Ji Hoon, he would not have been able to go and leave her cruelly behind like that. Now that’s spin. Ji Hoon replies that it doesn't matter anymore; it’s none of his business. Then he opens his gate and goes into his house. And I really don’t get what he’s doing now. Inside, he looks out the windows at her and she’s just staring at his house. He laughs as he looks at her standing there.

Gyuls' house. Breakfast. Doo Gyul asks Bok Nyeo what she added to the curry, but she’s so lost in thought – with a concerned look on her face – that she doesn’t realize he’s talking to her. Once he gets her attention, he repeats his question. He wants to know since it tastes the same as Mom's curry and he tried to make it like that but couldn’t. But Bok Nyeo won’t tell him the secret. She tells him to find out himself. Aw. Is she trying to help Doo Gyul realize that he wants to be a chef?

Later, Doo Gyul’s making curry again and he’s found the answer: chocolate. Chocolate in curry? I’m going to have to try that… He’s fired up that he figured it out. He can’t believe it. Bok Nyeo tells him that he did really great. It’s something you’re good at, Doo Gyul!

Bok Nyeo is hanging laundry. She texts Ji Hoon, asking him what she should do. He looks at – with Sang Chul and That Woman standing there – and doesn’t answer. Sang Chul sees the text and asks him what he’s doing right now? He’s a bit indignant that Ji Hoon would treat Bok Nyeo that way. But, of course, he *doesn’t like her. Not a bit. Sang Chul asks how Ji Hoon could leave a woman alone on the street like that. Ji Hoon replies that this is how he trains a woman. Really? If I didn’t like you before, I really don’t like you now. Ji Hoon asks if Sang Chul’s offended. Is. Bok Nyeo his wife? Sang Chul stands there, steaming. Ji Hoon declares that whatever he does, Sang Chul’s not in a position to say something about it.

Sang Chul answers that Bok Nyeo has been in a lot of pain. If Ji Hoon doesn't have any intentions of dating her sincerely, then he should stop right now! Ji Hoon answers that he can't do that, because now she has started to cling to him. Really? Because of one text? Really? That Woman is uneasy. Ji Hoon declares that it’s starting to be interesting so why should he stop? Sang Chul starts to lunge forward at Ji Hoon but That Woman stops him. Sang Chul demands to know if it’s Ji Hoon’s way, playing with people? Yes! You haven’t realized that by now? Ji Hoon goads Sang Chul, saying that at this rate, Sang Chul will be grabbing his collar soon and punching him. Sang Chul answers with a “Should I?!” That Woman drags Sang Chul outside to talk. The smile that Ji Hoon was wearing to goad Sang Chul leaves his face.

Outside, That Woman begs Sang Chul to stay out of it. Emotional, Sang Chul replies that if they were really dating, then he wouldn't even be this angry, but he thinks that Miss Bok Nyeo still suspects that he's Seo Ji Hoon, and CEO Jang is really enjoying her being like that. Can’t That Woman see that? That Woman asks what he’s basing that on. Sang Chul replies that Bok Nyeo is a person who doesn't even smile because of her guilt over feeling like she killed her family. She doesn't have room to have romantic feelings for someone. Now she’s suddenly clinging onto CEO Jang? That Woman tries to say that it isn’t sudden.

Sang Chul’s still not convinced. He says that he sees Bok Nyeo every day and she doesn't have the face of a person in love. He’s certain that she's thinking something dangerous again. Sang Chul decides that he has to tell Ji Hoon his suspicions. That Woman grabs him and says that he can’t do that! She asks him to leave it to Bok Nyeo, please! Sang Chul asks what the three of them know that he doesn’t. Song Hwa’s been acting suspiciously, what is she hiding from him?! That Woman actually looks tortured as she says that Bok Nyeo knows.

That Woman gets a text from Ji Hoon of a dead bird, with the message that a parrot that thoughtlessly passes on words, she knows what happens to it, right? That Woman is torn… What should she do? So she… says that Bok Nyeo knows that… she met Woo Sun Young. Whoa! I never though that she would do that?! Song Hwa declares that she killed his wife. She was the last person to meet with Soo Young before she died. The words that she said in her suicide note about getting out of the way because she was an obstacle, it’s something Song Hwa had said to her. Bok Nyeo has a copy of the CCTV footage of the meeting. I really can’t believe she’s doing this! Sang Chul’s face is unreadable.

Bok Nyeo meets Sang Chul at the suicide bench. He’s been crying. He says that he resented his wife. "You're venomous." "You're peculiar." He cries as he says that he didn’t even look into why she was thinking those things, who she might have met and what they might have said. He’s ashamed of himself. And how you clung to That Woman after, that’s even more sickening, since she’s the one who said all those things… Sang Chul cries some more as he wonders how lonely must Mom have been… How wretched must she have felt. Bok Nyeo just stands there and listens.

That Woman stops by Ji Hoon’s house. She says that she doesn’t want to do it anymore. Ji Hoon bitterly asks if she told everything. She says that she said it all. Ji Hoon clarifies that she meant telling that he's Seo Ji Hoon. She emotionally replies that instead of that, she spoke of something that she never wanted to make known or have to speak of! Ji Hoon says that she is indeed a beautiful little fool. He doesn’t know what secret she’s talking about but she should have kept it a secret to the end. Like him. Song Hwa has tears in her eyes as she says that if she tells his secret, too many people will be hurt. Ji Hoon isn’t moved. And I’m a little surprised. That Woman asks him to intead, to kill her. She doesn't know how much longer she'll be able to endure it! She starts to cry in earnest. Ji Hoon just laughs in disbelief. Is she actually going to make me like her now?

The BAR. Soo Hyuk is strumming his guitar, waiting for his next job. The manager tells him to go outside and 'clean' it up. Hunh? Outside Han Gyul, Wol Bae and the rest of the band are performing ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ to a huge crowd, which includes the Oppa Girls holding signs. Oppa Girls chant about their milky skinned Choi Soo Hyuk! He interrupts, asking what they’re doing. Oppa Girls are overjoyed to see their Oppa.

Later, after the band and the Oppa Girls are gone, Soo Hyuk is talking to Wol Bae and Han Gyul. She says that she won't give up on either of them. Coldly, he tells her, “Fine. Let's go out.” How much is she going to give him? Even if he plays guitar like crazy and take tips, he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to pay back on Dad’s debt. He sarcastically tells them that since they have so much free time, they should work hard and not block someone else's revenue stream. Soo Hyuk starts to walk off. Wol Bae calls after him that they can pay back the debt by taking first place in the contest. Because their version of 'I Love Rock and Roll's is so rocking... Soo Hyuk thinks that's ridiculous since not just anyone can take first place. Wol Bae tells him that’s why they need him, jerk. Soo Hyuk blinks and walks off.

Gyuls' House. Bok Nyeo is hanging laundry. She hears Mr. Nosy ask Mrs. Nosy if she’s crazy. She wants him to apologize? She says that it hasn’t just been one or two or three… if he’s touched ten women, wouldn’t saying sorry be the normal thing to do? He laughs and closes his magazine. He tells her to look in the mirror. She’s not a woman. Not cheating would be the abnormal thing. And he calls her ‘honey.’ Hate him. She reels as he says that since people address her as 'Madam’ and fawn all over her, she’s deluded herself into thinking that she’s something special. No, I think that’s you. She’s not the scumbag.

Mr. Nosy declares that she’ll have to be divorced and be put out on the street in order to come to her senses, hunh? The house, car, bag, jewelry... can she give those things up? He doesn’t think so. She’s a materialistic animal to her bones. Mrs. Nosy clenches a fist as he insults her. She should just punch him and break those glasses. He tells her that she’s been living in this much luxury due to her husband's great abilities – not deluded over his prowess, is he? Like he’d be able to get women if he didn’t have his job… Mr. Nosy tells her that she should shut up and be thanking him instead. She sputters at him, asking him if he thinks she won’t do it? He stands and pounds the table and tells her to go! Whether she goes around the whole neighborhood shouting in the megaphone, or holds a press conference, no one will care!

Mrs. Nosy comes out of the house, weeping. She asks Bok Nyeo if she heard it all. Bok Nyeo says she did. Mrs. Nosy asks what she should do now, since continuing in this manner, living like a ghost... What should she do? Bok Nyeo tells her to show him… That she’s a woman. This makes Mrs. Nosy think.

The kids are doing their homework. There’s a meow. Doo Gyul mentions it and Han Gyul says that it was Bok Nyeo – she’s really good at imitating. The rest of the kids come over to the kitchen. Doo Gyul asks if Bok Nyeo can do impersonations of people. She can. Han Gyul asks if Bok Nyeo can imitate their mother’s voice. Bok Nyeo replies that she’s never heard Soo Young’s voice. Se Gyul gets an idea. They play a video where you can hear Mom’s voice.

While they’re watching the video, the phone rings. It’s news that Sang Chul has collapsed and is now in the hospital. Bok Nyeo’s eyebrows furrow with concern. The family rushes to the hospital, where Sang Chul is sleeping. He wakes and weakly calls the kids by name. They ask what’s wrong. He replies that Mom was a warm person. She cried easily and laughed easily. Unlike him, who tried to escape. She was so different from him. If she loved, she'd put everything in it. He apologizes for not loving her more. Han Gyul asks if he’s thinking of Mom and that's what made him sick. He nods. He declares that he gave a huge trial to Mom and made her die. Doo Gyul and Sang Chul cry. He apologizes again and Han Gyul doesn’t let go of Appa’s hand.

Dong Shik’s at the sporting goods store, having Auntie show him a two-person tent. He thinks it’s too small, so she decides to show him, but instead trips on something and falls on him. Oh, k-drama signal for two people who are going to fall in love! She looks annoyed but he looks happy. Han Gyul calls and tells her that Sang Chul collapsed.

Sang Chul is asleep when he hears Mom calling him ‘Honey.’ He opens his eyes and sees someone standing behind the curtain. She asks if he’s okay. He asks if it’s her. She apologizes and says that she wasn't supposed to leave the children like that. She’s also regretting it. Outside the hospital room, the kids are listening. Se Gyul remarks that Bok Nyeo is doing well, just like they wrote it for her. That is just wrong.

‘Mom’ says that she put him through too much and she’s sorry. Sang Chul cries as she tells him not to be so tormented and to be strong. Now he has to go back to the children, since he knows what she felt when she left. She tells him that she’s a little more comfortable and he shouldn’t just blame himself. Wow, that’s actually pretty big (and wise) of those kids to come up with this… ‘Mom’ asks him to love the children more from now on. She names all the kids and tells him he needs to be a strong person and lead the children to where they need to go to achieve their dreams. That’s why she’s there, to ask him for that. Han Gyul asks Se Gyul if he wrote that part. He didn’t.

Sang Chul asks ‘Mom’ why she’s being like this, only saying nice words? He wants her to curse him to die. Swear at him and say he should be struck by lightning and die. He shouldn’t be loved like this! Auntie arrives. Of course she does. I find her so annoying. Auntie asks them what they’re doing and goes into Sang Chul's hospital room, turning on the light. She outs Bok Nyeo. He is not happy. Han Gyul pipes up that Bok Nyeo didn't do anything wrong. They asked her to do it, to make Mother's voice. Sang Chul starts yelling at Bok Nyeo, asking if she’s making fun of him. Her face looks pained. She replies that she’s not really. Nurse arrives and yells at them for being there after visiting hours.

Sang Chul tells Bok Nyeo to leave. Bok Nyeo replies that he’s wrong. The fact that he is not someone who can be loved is wrong. She tells him that he is a person who does not lie about love. He’s sincere and doesn't say that he loves things that he doesn’t. To the things that he loves, he can't say that he doesn't love them. He still has the conscience to not accept her as their mother because he doesn’t love her. She says that this is what gives his children hope. Sang Chul starts to tear up and tells Bok Nyeo to stop and leave. Han Gyul tells Appa that they believe that he really loves them. Bok Nyeo looks emotional as Doo Gyul tells Appa that they can't live without him. Sang Chul starts to cry as Se Gyul tells him that he’s proud of Appa. Han Gyul takes his hand again and tells Appa that she will protect him so he should be strong. Overcome, Sang Chul picks up Han Gyul and hugs her. All the kids start hugging him. And I cry, too. I’m such a sap.

On a hospital bench, the kids are thinking how they consider how much Appa must have been suffering. Han Gyul declares that she thought they were the only ones who felt bad about Mom, but Appa did, too. And they even all suggested that he marry Bok Nyeo-nim. How hard it must have been for him. Han Gyul declares that from now on, she will be listening to Dad well. The kids decide to look after Dad no matter what his decision.

Sang Chul returns to work. Dong Shik gives him a hard time for coming back so soon without resting. Sang Chul replies that there's so much work that's been pushed back he couldn't do that. That Woman looks at him and when he looks in her direction, his eyes are no longer kind. Later they talk. She tells him that she’s going to look for someplace else to work. He tells her not that there’s no need, so she shouldn’t be sorry or have a hard time anymore. He says that through everything – her, Mom dying, hurting the kids – it’s been his problem. It's all his cowardly fault. That Woman starts to tear up as Sang Chul tells her to put down that big burden she’s been carrying and go back to the confident and bright Song Hwa he knows. And I’m a little annoyed. Just a little because he’s doing the right thing, forgiving her. But I’m just annoyed that she’s getting off so easy and he’s still painting her as a victim in all this.

Bok Nyeo is carrying a bag. She calls Ji Hoon. He smiles and answers. She records their conversation. She asks him to meet her. He says he’s busy. She asks if it’s not urgent, what he’s doing. He says it is. He hangs up and is sure he has her. She goes and sits in a gazebo. She pulls out her phone again and thinks of that voice mail where he said that he thought he would die if he doesn’t see her. She plays what she’s created, where he says that he thinks he’s going to die and it’s urgent. Spliced those two things together… I wonder what she's planning.

Tae Shik walks into his precinct. EMIL is waiting for him. She asks him what Park Eun Soo, that devil, is doing these days. He replies that there’s nothing much. She's not doing anything with that family either. EMIL asks him about reopening her son’s murder investigation. Tae Shik answers that they can’t really because there isn’t much evidence... EMIL doesn’t like that answer. Because she's an EMIL.

Ji Hoon is at the grocery store. Bok Nyeo is also at the store, following him. Their paths cross. He doesn’t say anything but keeps walking. Again their paths cross and he asks her what she’s doing. Why is she following him? Is she a stalker? Sounding desperate, Bok Nyeo says that she’ll be a stalker for him. He blinks and looks at her. He asks why she would do that. She tells him, her eyes glassy, that she doesn’t want to lose him. Then emotionally, she asks him what she should do. Wow, she’s being really convincing. And if he wasn’t a stalker, it might occur to him that people don’t get that attached that quickly, but because he *is* one, he’s buying that she’s that desperate to hold onto him. Bok Nyeo has started to cry. He tells her to hold on... If she doesn't want to lose him. He holds out his hand and tells her to hold onto it. She takes his hand and he emotionally looks at it and her.

Thoughts

Wow, I have no idea what Bok Nyeo is thinking. At least we know that she’s not stupid; she knows that CEO Jang is Seo Ji Hoon. But what is she planning? And why is EMIL so set on making her life miserable *forever.* I did like that Tae Shik is now seeming to run interference for Ji Hoon with EMIL. That will make things run more easily. Since EMIL is such a nasty terrible woman.

I’m very surprised that Song Hwa outed herself and the part that she played in Soo Young’s death. It’s almost like she actually has begun to care for people – like Bok Nyeo – instead of herself. It was really nice of Sang Chul to forgive her for what she did, to tell her to put her burden down. I’m not sure I would have been able to do that, yet.

Auntie still is annoying. I like the actress who plays her, but man, I wish Auntie would just move to America so we wouldn’t have to deal with her anymore. And she’s going to end up in a romance with Dong Shik… What is it with that guy and the women he likes?

I think everything that’s happened in this episode is moving us toward Sang Chul actually developing real feelings – besides affection – for Bok Nyeo, because he grew up a lot in this episode. Throughout the series, he’s become more brave and less of a coward, and him admitting that everything that got screwed up, was because of him.

Small scene with the skeevy Mr. Nosy. I really hope that she sticks it to him and he ends up fired and she ends up with all his money. That would be great. It would be even greater if she took his *job,* too!

A little development with Soo Hyuk’s story. Han Gyul’s told him that she likes him. An official declaration. When is the scummy dad going to get kicked to the curb so this kid can go back to school, graduate and make something of himself?

I really wonder what Bok Nyeo’s plan is. I know it’s going to be intricate, because she’s got nothing else to do but plan it. I think her emotions at the end of the episode were tied directly to desperation over not losing this chance to prove Ji Hoon is alive and that she isn’t the cause of her family’s death. The kids keep threatening to mess things up, though, so I hope that it gets taken care of before Ji Hoon gets so jealous that he puts them in danger, too.
