She Was Pretty Episode 6 Recap

Episode picks up with Sung Joon and Hye Jin sitting in the rain, Hye Jin covering them both with her hoodie. He reaches up and toches her face. She doesn’t hear him call her Hye Jin-a because of the honking of the truck and it startles her into realizing how in danger they are. She pulls Sung Joon out of the street. As they sit under the awning at a bus stop, she worries at how cold he is and how much shivering he’s doing. He pulls off her hoodie and tells her to go. She refuses and wants to take him home. He repeats his gasp that she should go. He asks her to please just go. He’s so pathetic right now. She calls a driver, who takes Sung Joon home. She tells the driver to turn up the heat and take care of him until he gets home.

Shin Hyuk is still waiting with Ha Ri. He sighs loudly and looks at his phone. Ha Ri tries calling Sung Joon but talks to the driver instead. Driver says that the customer isn't feeling well so he’s taking Sung Joon home right now. This gets Ha Ri to hurry and leave to take care of him. She doesn’t give Shin Hyuk any explanation but hurries out. He’s annoyed because he got dressed up for nothing. I like his hair, though. He decides to take some selfies. And his charming smile cracks me up. He actually cracks himself up. Heh.

Ha Ri gets to his apartment building and almost doesn’t remember his apartment number. But she does and starts ringing his doorbell. She calls him when he doesn’t answer but he staggers out and basically collapses on her.

Inside now, she makes him some porridge – or tries to. Sung Joon finally comes to his senses. When she sees him upright, she tries to feel his neck for his temperature, but he assures her that he’s all right. He asks how she got there and she explains about the driver. He apologizes for making her wait, saying he suddenly fell ill. I find it strange that he didn’t say anything about the accident, since Hye Jin knows about it and it would completely explain everything.

Sung Joon asks why she wanted to see him. She lies and says that she wanted to return his jacket. She was worried that he’d go around without any clothes on. He chuckles and says that he has enough clothes that there’s no reason for him to be naked. He reminds her that he said to give it back to him whenever. Ha Ri responds that she has a habit of quickly returning any items she’s borrowed. Except for best friend’s first loves, that is. She changes the subject by telling him to go rest while she finished the porridge.

Hye Jin is at home, blow drying her hair, thinking about what just happened with Sung Joon. She wonders why he reached up and touched her face. Did she maybe look pretty? She slaps her head and yells at herself for having princess syndrome. She worries that he caught a cold and isn’t taking his medicine.

Later, she’s bought him some medicine but stews over whether to take it over to him. Shin Hyuk calls – he’s labeled ‘Weirdo Reporter.’ She answers the phone, calling him ‘Reporter Kim.’ He grumbles over how formal she is, since they’re not at the office. Now at home, he’s sitting on his dining room table. I love him so much. He asks what his Dongseng is doing while it's raining? How about some rice wine and scallion pancakes with your Orabeoni? Ah, she’s calling him Orabeoni rather than Oppa. She says that she has something to take care of.

She starts to ask Shin Hyuk if he could run the medicine over, but stops. He prods her and she explains about Sung Joon being soaked in the rain and needing medicine delivered. He busts out laughing at her. She acts like it’s a crazy idea and says that she’ll go herself. She hangs up and Shin Hyuk looks at the phone, wondering what her problem is. She can't even talk to her first love and she wants to bring him some porridge? He climbs off the table and dives onto the couch. He groans that a day like this calls for some rice wine and scallion pancakes! Annoyed he kicks off his slippers. He sighs and mutter that even if Jackson goes, she won't hear anything pleasant. A few more moments of thinking and Shin Hyuk sits up, thoroughly annoyed with himself.

Shin Hyuk calls Hye Jin back. He tells her that our Dongseng probably knows because she’s experienced him before that he’s not the kind of person who runs errands for people or takes care of patients but whose request is this? It's my dongsaeng's request. And why am I reminded of ‘Coffee Prince’ right now? He announces that he was thinking about doing a porridge run for her. She can’t believe it and as she thanks him, starts to call him ‘Reporter Kim’ but changes it to ‘Orabeoni.’

Still serious, Shin Hyuk asks what that thankful dongsaeng is going to do for her orabeoni. She’a heard before, right? Give and take? If he fulfills her request this time, she’ll have to fulfill three of his requests in the future. That doesn’t sound very fair. She asks why she has to do 3 things in return. He replies that he’s all about give and take. If she doesn't want to, it's fine. It's nothing for him to feel sad about. Hanging up now. Of course, she agrees. She will fulfill his requests no matter what.

He is wary. She’s saying this now but is she going to act hostilelu and pretend this never happened? This won't do. Repeat after me. 'I, Kim Hye Jin, promise to fulfill Kim Shin Hyeok's request three times, no matter what.' Hye Jin starts to protest, but Shin Hyuk’s going to hang up, so she says the oath. He answers with an ‘Amen’ and hangs up, sighing loudly about what he’s going to do with Jackson.

Ha Ri has finished the soup and Sung Joon has fallen asleep again. Ha Ri squats beside him and watches him sleep.

Shin Hyuk arrives with the medicine (and some porridge it looks like). He is wearing a stocking cap on his head really weirdly. He strolls past the door man and gives a nod, like he completely belongs there. Doorman stares after him and mutters that he’s seen coffee shop unnies before but never seen a coffee shop oppa! Heh. As the elevator opens, Ha Ri and Shin Hyuk run into each other. What is she doing there?! She abandoned him and left earlier! She apologies and cryptically says that someone who lives there had something urgent happen. He makes a face like he has to accept that excuse.

She asks what brings Mr. Suite 2014 there? He replies that he also knows someone there. The doors of the elevator start to close, so he uses his leg to stop them. Ha Ri winces for him but he acts like it’s nothing (even though he winces, too) saying that he has to… ugh… meet someone quickly about something. She promises to explain later. He lets her go after getting a high five. He is such a dork!

Upstairs, Shin Hyuk knocks on the door, calling Sung Joon various names: Mr. Deputy Chief Editor. Deputy Chief Ji. Ji Sung Joon? Sung Joon-a! How he says that last one cracks me up. He leaps against the door like he’s trying to break in and mutters that Sung Joon must not be there. He wonders what he’s supposed to do with the medicine but then remembers that he has Sung Joon’s key card. He lets himself in, announcing ‘Open sesame.’

Entering, he puts the medicine on the counter and then goes to sit by a sleeping Sung Joon. He sticks his finger under Sung Joon’s nose and concludes that he’s in deep sleep. He spots the puzzle in a jar and sighs. Looking at the puzzle he mutters that it’s that problematic puzzle or whatnot. He turns to Sung Joon and sighs. Shin Hyuk tells Sung Joon that his first love is the one who he always says 'Look Intern' to. That Kim Hye Jin. Doesn’t he know? Doesn’t he?

Shin Hyuk gets up and goes over to open up the medicine. He notices the porridge. Taking the lid off, he looks at it. The smell is so horrible he covers his mouth and mutterst that a person could die from eating this. Ah it's rancid! So rancid. Pained, he goes and pours it out. Then he washes the bowl and pours in his porridge. He puts is on the table by the couch. Shin Hyuk notices that Sung Joon is sweating a lot and discovers that he has a fever. He fixes a cold washrag for Sung Joon, as he sighs, disgusted with himself. He makes sure the porridge isn’t too hot by sticking his pinky in it and then he feeds it to Sung Joon, cleaning off the overdrool. He asks himself why he’s doing it.

The next morning, Sung Joon wakes up and wonders about Hye Jin. He turns around to Shin Hyuk in his bathrobe. This understandably startles him. Shin Hyuk smiles widely and asks if he’s up. Sung Joon wants to know why Shin Hyuk is there. Shin Hyuk replies that he came over to make sure he wasn’t dead. He heard that Sung Joon got soaked during the rain. Sung Joon starts to ask who Shin Hyuk heard it from, but stops and mutters about this Intern, uselessly meddling again… So much for being thankful!

Shin Hyuk takes a drink and Sung Joon gets off the couch. But really, did Shin Hyuk sleep there? Shin Hyuk rolls his eyes and asks if Sung Joon thought he’d sleep out in the hallway listening to the sound of cicadas? In this cool fall air? Sung Joon mentions the bathrobe. Then he notices that Shin Hyuk is wearing his underwear. Which he calls panties. Hehe. Shin Hyuk laughs and says that he came over in such a hurry that he forgot to pack some underwear. He pulls out his own panties from the bathrobe pocket and shakes them out, chuckling. Sung Joon is horrified. Wow, I didn’t think that Sung Joon was so prissy. How can Shin Hyuk put on someone else's underwear?!

Sung Joon demands that Shin Hyuk take it off right now. Shin Hyuk shrugs and starts to comply. Sung Joon immediately tells him to just wear it. Have it. Don't return it to him. Do.do..do..don't return it to him ever! Sung Joon’s face is completely freaked and Shin Hyuk’s face has a gleeful, puckish grin on it. Heh. Shin Hyuk gives himself a little cheer over the bonus item! He tells Sung Joon to go wash up. They should have breakfast and go to work. Sung Joon looks at all the food containers and mutters that Shin Hyuk had a party all night. From the kitchen, Shin Hyuk is dancing to his own music. He turns around and tells Sung Joon to hurry up and go wash up.

Over at Hye Jin’s, she loudly sneezes. Ha Ri asks if she also caught a cold. Hye Jin asks if someone else caught a cold? Ha Ri lies and says that a lot of people seem to catch it lately. Ha Ri wants to hurry out and get Hye Jin some medicine but Hye Jin stops her, since the pharmacy isn’t open yet. Ha Ri wants to pack her some fruit and then she’ll get Hye Jin some sesame mushroom soup after work. Wow, Ha Ri’s guilty conscience is talking.

Hye Jin gets a text from Shin Hyuk:
Dongseng's first love ate the whole bowl of porridge and is all better now. Mission complete.

She smiles with relief. Was the porridge from Hye Jin?

Ha Ri gets a text from Sung Joon:
I fell asleep so I didn't get to see you leave. Thank you for the porridge. I'll call you later.

Ha Ri wonders about the porridge. She dismisses it, since it doesn’t matter if he calls is porridge or soup.

Shin Hyuk is, of course, now pestering Sung Joon. Deputy Chief Editor you're awesome! Did you bring the panties back from the U.S.? Made in U.S.A.? America?  Sung Joon reluctantly says that he did. Shin Hyuk smiles widely and says that maybe because it came across the ocean, it's so wearable! Sung Joon groans inwardly because he wants to drop the subject. Shin Hyuk asks if, by any chance, can Sung Joon give him two or so more pairs? Or is it something he can buy in Korea? This panty?

Sung Joon can’t stand it anymore and says ‘panty’ about four times as he yells at Shin Hyuk. Women walking by start laughing to themselves and Shin Hyuk joins in. Through his teeth, Sung Joon mutters that he wishes Shin Hyuk would stop that underwear talk and that peculiar behavior, too. He starts to walk away but Shin Hyuk grabs his arm. He begs that they should share the information, please.

Yanking his arm free, Sung Joon tells Shin Hyuk to please get off of him! He tries to leave again, but Shin Hyuk grabs his arm again, protesting. They even spent the night together. Hehehe. He’s trying to keep his distance too much, Deputy Chief Editor. He opens his arms wide and tells Sung Joon to come there. And I am rolling. Sung Joon grits his teeth and repeats that he said to stop sticking to him! Seriously! He walks away.

Shin Hyuk sniff the air and immediately starts asking Sung Joon what cologne he’s wearing. Sung Joon puts his fingers in his ears to not listen. Shin Hyuk gooses him, which makes Sung Joon drop his hands and Shin Hyuk repeats his question about the cologne. Ah Reum and Seol observe it all and Ah Reum wonders when the pair got so close. Seol doesn’t care. Then she spots Joon Woo and hurries over to fawn over him. Ah Reum wonders about that combination, too.

Sung Joon is slowly walking behind Hye Jin toward the Most offices. Where’s Shin Hyuk? He thinks about the night before, his flashback, touching her and calling her Hye Jin-a. This makes him cough, which makes her notice him. She acts like nothing significant happened, just bows and asks how he’s feeling. He avoids looking at her as he says that he’s fine. She starts to walk away, when he gives her an ‘Look, Intern.’ He asks why she told Shin Hyuk and made it so annoying for him? Because of Shin Hyuk, his apartment is like messy trash-

He stops because Hye Jin’s face is twitching like she’s smelling something disgusting. He asks what she’s trying to do with that bizarre face and then she loudly sneezes all over him. She tries to dry his face with her sweater but he tells her that it’s okay. He has to yell at her before she stops. She shuffles off into the office. Shin Hyuk approaches and says that Sung Joon was so determined to come up. Why hasn’t he gone in yet? Perhaps, he was waiting for Shin Hyuk? He takes hold of Sung Joon’s arm and smiles at him. Sung Joon declares that there's no way and goes inside. Shin Hyuk laughs to himself because he has someone new to torment. He declares that it's entertaining to make fun of that one too. Panty!

Hye Jin loudly sneezes, which gets everyone to roll away from her and tell her to keep away. Shin Hyuk protests that everyone is just too much. Treating someone like a virus. He asks Jackson if it’s a cold. She starts to answer that it is but is interrupted by a huge sneeze. When she looks up, Shin Hyuk is no longer in his seat but about 10 feet away, hiding behind the copier. He sprays some disinfectant in her direction.

Another loud sneeze from Hye Jin, which Sung Joon notices. He sighs, frustrated, as he watches them spray a bunch of disinfectant all around her and ask her to put a mask on. She has the cold because of you, dude. Sung Joon keeps glancing in her direction and eventually feels bad enough that he goes and buys her some medicine. When he gets back to the office, he tries to casually give it to her, but is blocked by Joo Young, who gives Hye Jin some translation work. He tries again, but is blocked by Shin Hyuk, who plops some medicine on her desk. Then he puts a cooling pad on her forehead and a mask on her face (it has a dog face on it). He tells her to stop getting treated like a virus and stay like that. Take the medicine too. She’s not even feeling well so how can she take care of someone else? He rolls back to his desk and Sung Joon glances down at the medicine.

He creeps over to her desk and she doesn’t notice that he’s there. Loudly, he says, “Look, Intern!” When she looks in his direction, he has to blink at the dog mask, but he asks, with a hard tone in his voice, why she isn’t bringing him the minutes. She’s confused since they didn’t have a meeting today. He has to think a second but then says that he’s asking for yesterday’s minutes. She replies that she gave it to him yesterday. He says that he hasn’t see them. She tells him that she’ll get another copy made and quickly bring it to him. He replies, like he’s indignant, that they should work properly. Properly. He stalks into his office.

As she looks for the minutes, Shin Hyuk rolls over and tells her that the cold medicine might make her drowsy. If she gets too sleepy, go and take a nap in the medical service room. She dismisses his attention as it simply being because he’s become his dongsaeng.

Sung Joon walks down the hall and throws the medicine away in the trash. You could still give it to her, dude. Shin Hyuk is coming down the hall and yells at Sung Joon to wait. Sung Joon, of course, does not; instead, he punches on the ‘close’ button. He gives Shin Hyuk a look of ‘so there’ as the elevator starts to go down. Shin Hyuk wonders what is problem is – not that he’s been tormenting Sung Joon all morning or anything.

In the elevator, Sung Joon snickers to himself for getting the best of Shin Hyuk. Then he asks himself what he’s doing.

Ha Ri calls him. She asks if he’s feeling better. He replies that he is, thanks to her. She asks him to go and have lunch at the nearby sesame mushroom soup eatery. When she eats there, her cold goes away. Sung Joon likes that idea, since Hye Jin made him porridge, he owes her one. He offers to pick her up and she makes a lame excuse why he can’t, but he lets it go. She hangs up and sighs, asking herself what she’s doing.

As she walks to lunch, it starts to rain. Quickly, she runs for cover. And her hair *doesn’t* frizz. But Sung Joon’s just going to ignore that one. Waiting for the rain to pass, Ha Ri sticks her hand out to feel the rain and has a happy memory of playing in it with her mother. Who seems to be still alive! Sung Joon walks up behind her and mutters about the rain. Ha Ri enjoys the feeling on the rain on her hand, which Sung Joon notices and thinks is strange. When she notices his look he awkwardly says that she used to hate the rain. Hye Jin still does. But this isn’t Hye Jin. Ha Ri kicks herself mentally and says that it's okay now. He nods.

The light turns and Ha Ri declares that it’s * a green light*! She hurries across the street. Sung Joon looks after her with a pained look on his face, because his Hye Jin never called it a green light, but called it a ‘go!’ Ha Ri turns around and looks at him, wondering why he isn’t following her. She asks if he’s coming. He shakes out of it and goes.

Joon Woo has discovered that there's going to be a newly-published book. There's an article. And in very clear English, he reads: My dear readers, I'd like to tell you that my new work is at the finishing stage. I ask for a little more patience before we meet again soon. From, Ten. Who is Ten? Poong Ho declares that just thinking of the reviews is getting him excited. Joon Woo asks if he’s heard the rumor: Ten is supposed to be Korean. An ajumma in her 40s, at that. An ajumma in her 40s? Could it maybe be Ra Ra? Or maybe Ha Ri’s mom? Poong Ho whacks Joon Woo on the head with his scratching stick and tells Joon Woo to stop talking nonsense.

Poong Ho makes Joon Woo scratch his back. He says that before, everyone said that Ten was French. That JE's Guillaumme or whoever. And last year, they said it was an American, JE's Douglas K. There was all that fuss about it. Ah Reum says that she heard that Ten is Murakami. Haruki Murakami is a Japanese author. His books have been translated into 50 other languages. Shin Hyuk says that it doesn’t make sense since they have totally different styles. Joo Young says that no one knows. Joanne Rowling too. Americans know Joanne as J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series. Once she got famous, she hid her name and published a mystery novel.

Joon Woo declares that according to a reliable source, Ten’s definitely a Korean. An Ajumma in her 40s at that. Again with the ‘at that.’ Poong Ho whacks him on the head and asks who his source is. Ra Ra enters and flings her purse at Joon Woo. He barely catches it.

Hye Jin sits at her desk and discovers an onion. She asks the room what it’s for. Shin Hyuk says that it’s a prop they’re going to use at the photo shoot. It's an onion directly imported from Italy. It's worth 1,000,000 Won. Dang! Hye Jin is impressed. Shin Hyuk starts to snicker so she knows that he’s lying. He tells her that not even a kindergartener would be that gullible. How can she fall for it? Seol scurries over and throws the mail at Hye Jin, telling her to sort it.

Hye Jin takes a letter into Sung Joon’s office. His phone rings and she answers his phone. She hunts around for a piece of paper to take the message and spots an article on his computer about the onion. When you catch a cold, if you keep an onion nearby, it's been said that it can lessen the strength the cold virus. She realizes that Sung Joon left her the onion. This makes her smile.

Sung Joon walks by Hye Jin’s desk and spots the onion. It’s now in a glass with water for its roots and she’s drawn a big smiley face on it. This makes him smile. Ra Ra takes the picture of him smiling. It’s the first time she’s seen his pure smile. It was so beautiful that she took a photo without realizing. Sung Joon fidgets awkwardly. Ra Ra declares that something good must have happened. Perhaps he’s dating? More nervous fidgeting from Sung Joon. Ra Ra walks away, singing in Italian. Sung Joon uncomfortably coughs and hurries into his office.

Inside, he mutters, asking when he smiled. He gets at text. It’s from Ra Ra, with the picture of his smile. She writes: This flower-like smile, let me see some more in the future. Edi, Edi, Ji Deputy Chief Editor. He groans at himself and asks himself why he would smile there? Why?! He sighs and looks out at the onion. He commands it not to smile. Right then Hye Jin and Joo Young walk up and look in his direction. He pretends that he was doing calisthenics. He ‘smoothly’ blacks out the windows and sags onto his desk. He asks himself what’s wrong with him.

Everyone is leaving for the day, but Poong Ho gives her an interview to transcribe before she goes. Of course, she takes the job. She decides to take the medicine Shin Hyuk gave her. Which may make her drowsy. Drowsy. As she’s transcribing, she starts to fall asleep. She fights to stay awake but isn’t very successful. She tries chewing gum, but that only works for about 10 seconds. Finally, she is doing the head twirl thing again and Sung Joon ends up catching her head before she falls off her chair. Her phone rings and he lifts the receiver and hangs it up, sighing with relief that she didn’t wake up.

Unfortunately – or fortunately, depending on how you look at it – they’re not the only people left. Ah Reum walks up with a mask on her face and scares Sung Joon so much that he yells and jumps backward, ending up in Hye Jin’s lap. He tries to say that he wasn’t surprised...For real he wasn't surprised at all. For real. Hye Jin taps his shoulder to get his attention – since he’s on her lap. This makes him leap to his feet. He tries to play it off like he was looking for his bag and leaves. Ah Reum remarks that he’s oddly acting mental today, which makes Hye Jin laugh. They decide to leave as well.

Hye Jin is falling asleep at the bus stop. Sung Joon drives by and sees her struggling and coughing. The bus pulls up and Hye Jin almost misses it but wakes up in time. She doesn’t see that Sung Joon was looking at her. She falls asleep on the bus. And the guy is nice enough to shove her off so that she hits her head against the window. Guy gets off and Sung Joon gets on, hiding his face with a magazine. Hye Jin falls asleep on his shoulder and he lets her stay there. Aw.

Another bus stop and Hye Jin jumps awake and hurries off the bus. She doesn’t notice Sung Joon. He watches her walk away. He catches a taxi back to his car, just in time to see it being towed away. He goes and picks up his car. He thinks about his panic attack. He called his shrink in the States. Shrink tells him that under extreme stress, the trauma that he overcame can come back. Don't get stressed and even if you do, take care of it right away. It's best not to let himself get bothered. Sung Joon tells shrink that someone who had nothing to do with him keeps overlapping with someone he knew from 15 years ago, but he doesn't know why. And instead, the person who he used to know feels strangely foreign to him, like it's not the same person who he used to know.

As Sung Joon showers, he continues to think about this conversation. Shrink tells him that it's a given that people change after 15 years. Did he think that someone would stay the same, like they traveled through time? Shrink declares that the fact that he can't forget his first love; it's a form of a Zeigarnik Effect. The Zeigarnik Effect is named after Soviet psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik and it posits that people have a tendency to remember an uncompleted task rather than a completed one. For more, go here and here. So, Hye Jin is an uncompleted love idea that Sung Joon can’t let go of. Nice. At least they're giving an explanation that's not fate but leftover persistence...

Hye Jin is sitting out on the swings, aimlessly swinging back and forth. Ha Ri asks if she’s coming in. Hye Jin says that the air is nice and waking her up. Even though it’s evening and you’ll need to go to bed soon. She asks Ha Ri why she came out. Ha Ri replies that she’s thinking of doing some exercise. They start exercising together as Shrink’s VO continues: An Incomplete Effect would be easier to explain but, it's a case of not being able to forget something that he never got to finish. In the end, the fact that he can't forget his first love might not be because he has a keen affection for her or because it's fate. He never got to see it to the end and that might be the real reason he can't easily forget her. So get out of your past and live in the present is what Shrink is saying.

Now finished exercising, they’re talking about work. Hye Jin mentions how The Most magazine might be discontinued in a few months. If they can't get the numbers up within that time, it will get discontinued. The Editing Team will disintegrate too. Ha Ri asks what will happen to Sung Joon. Hye Jin says that she isn’t sure. Ha Ri is uneasy.

Shin Hyuk is out eating a sausage and drinking a beer. He’s sitting at a picnic bench and debating whether he should call Hye Jin. And he’s wearing no shoes. Is our Dongseng's doing okay with her cold? Shall he give her a call? He pops open his beer, only to have it stolen and drunk by Ha Ri. He whines balefully, but offers her his sausage.

After a few beers and sausages, Ha Ri looks depressed. Shin Hyuk asks if the reason for her restlessness is because of the prior 'toong'? Is it because of that man? He asks what kind of a man he is that she has to lie and say that she’s getting married? A stalker? Sadly she replies that it’s just someone. A man she can't see. Without her knowledge, a man who she keeps falling for. The more she likes him, the more nervous she becomes. Because you are a big fat liar and you know it! He’s someone who she can't like.

Shin Hyuk puts his hand over his mouth, shocked, and asks if the guy is married. Ha Ri protests that he isn’t/ Then an escapee… He stops as he realizes… it’s a minor. Well, these days, kids develop a lot quicker. But...still..a minor is a little bit... She’s a little insulted. Seriously, what does he think she is? It's not like that. Shin Hyuk wants to know what the problem is, then. Ha Ri sadly replies that it’s just... someone who she should have stopped liking sooner. But she didn't think she could stop it on her own so she asked him for a favor, Mr. Suite 2014.

Because Shin Hyuk is clueless about how complicated it is… Shin Hyuk says that if it's not a married man, an escapee or a minor, if Ha Ri likes him, then keep seeing him. She can see him. Ha Ri sighs that it’s not that easy. Shin Hyuk quotes a movie: 'Love is crazy and openly allowed.’ He tells her to be crazy. Doesn't everyone love while being that crazy? Instead of complicating it, if she lets herself be crazy, it's simple. Don't look back and regret it but just go for it.

His words sink in and Ha Ri goes hunting for the shoes that she threw away. The lady who found them asks what she's looking for, so Ha Ri is able to get them back. She takes them out and looks at them, thinking that in the end, if she has two legs, this is something that will forcibly end for her regardless of her own will. Even if she gets hurt, she wants to try it. As far as she can go, she wants to go. And that’s kind of sad because she’s risking for love and it’s all built on a lie. This won’t end well.

♫ The one who I've been waiting for. ♫

Hye Jin looks at the puzzle piece. She thinks of earlier, when Sung Joon caught her from falling over at her desk. She was partially awake when he hung up the phone, so she knows that he was cradling her head. Plus, she could see him in the mirror on her desk.

♫ Maybe because I don't know about love, ♫
♫ I couldn't say anything ♫
♫ You were always near me ♫
♫ The one who is looking at me ♫
♫ You still don't know yet  ♫

Hye Jin’s heart beats loudly.

♫ If I take a step, maybe you'll know me  ♫
♫ Should I wait a little more  ♫

At his apartment, Sung Joon is making his own smiling onion. That is too cute. Oh, Sung Joon. You’re starting to fall for the real Hye Jin in spite of yourself.

♫ On my own, the love that I've started without you knowing ♫
♫ Should we do it together now ♫

He looks at his finished onion with a proud, satisfied smile on his face.

♫ Maybe because you're the only one I've known  ♫

Hye Jin wonders what she’s doing.

♫ I can't love anyone else  ♫
♫ My heart keeps feeling strange  ♫

Morning meeting. Joo Young’s talking but Sung Joon’s not paying attention. Instead he’s staring at Hye Jin (who is taking notes and not noticing). Which Shin Hyuk notices. When Hye Jin looks up, Sung Joon looks away, like he wasn’t just staring at her. Shin Hyuk doesn’t look too happy about Sung Joon’s sudden interest in his dongsaeng. Joo Young gets Sung Joon’s attention and he’s with it enough to act like he was paying attention about the location scouting. It's been set for the day after tomorrow and they've reserved the condo that the company has there.

Joo Young says that, since Sung Joon is the one in charge, he’ll have to go, along with herself and Ah Reum. Ah Reum says that she can’t because of a supplemental shoot they have to do. She asks Seol, but Seol says she already has so much to do. Yeah, those mani-pedis are time consuming. She suggests that they send Hye Jin. Joo Young says that Joon Woo should go, so Seol changes her tune.

At home, Ha Ri is getting the hair dryer and spots the puzzle piece. She remembers what Sung Joon said about it at that first meeting. She looks at the piece significantly.

That Witch inadvertently overhears Sung Joon call Ha Ri ‘Hye Jin.’ The pair go to dinner. Ha Ri holds out the puzzle piece and says that she found it. That is too low. I am not happy with her at all. At all. That is scummy. He’s shocked that she has it. Since he’s been doubting that she’s really Hye Jin. She acts like it was hers all along. He looks at the back of it, almost like he’s hoping that it doesn’t have his umbrella on it. It does. He’s almost disappointed that it’s really his piece. Ha Ri can tell. Right. It's the piece from that time. Who he knew from back then, that really was her. She smiles, a mixture of relieved and awkward.

In the bathroom, Ha Ri looks at herself in the mirror. Or rather, can’t look at herself, for the shame. She looks down at her shoes. That Witch comes in and lets Ha Ri know that she knows that Ha Ri is even lying about her name to get a man. That Witch says that if you want to date more than one man, she's sure there are times a lie is necessary. Is there anything else she’s lying about besides her name? Ha Ri tells her that it’s none of That Witch’s business. That Witch wonders what kind of a man he is for her to be lying about her name. Why doesn't Ha Ri introduce her to him? Ha Ri says that there’s no reason for it. That Witch should pretend she didn't see Ha Ri.

That Witch wants to know why she should do that. Doesn’t Ha Ri just date men for fun? Ha Ri says that she’s begging. That Witch smiles as she makes Ha Ri repeat herself. Tears in her eyes, Ha Ri repeats that she’s begging That Witch. Please pretend she didn't see Ha Ri.

Ha Ri hurries out of the bathroom and wants them to leave. She’s not fast enough. That Witch tells Sung Joon that they really seem to suit each other. Sung Joon is confused. That Witch tells him that they’ll meet again. She tells Ha Ri to call her and walks off. Sung Joon knows that there’s something going on.

Ha Ri hurries out of the restaurant and he chases her. He asks what’s wrong and who That Witch was. He calls her Hye Jin-a, which makes her start to cry. She tells him not to call her that name. He turns her to face him and asks her to look at his face. Instead, she puts her head on his shoulder and asks to stay like that for a minute. Just for today. Don't ask her anything. Sung Joon starts to gently pat Ha Ri’s back.

Hye Jin is at home, working on a project. But she’s thinking of Sung Joon looking at her during the meeting. It makes her smile a little. Ha Ri arrives home. Hye Jin asks if Ha Ri had a date somewhere again? Ha Ri says that it was something like that. She’s making me want to shake her. Hye Jin tells Ha Ri that she swapped Ha Ri’s blanket out for a thicker one. Ha Ri thanks her, a guilty sound in her voice. Hye Jin yells at Ha Ri for the mess that is her room.

Later, Hye Jin starts to go to bed when Ha Ri comes in and wants to sleep in the same bed together. Hye Jin complains but she eventually relents. Later, Hye Jin asks what’s bothering Ha Ri. She has something to tell her. Ha Ri replies that she does… but… later. She’ll tell Hye Jin everything later. Until then, can Hye Jin wait a bit? Hye Jin asks if Ha Ri is going to be okay? Ha Ri replies that being okay... is hard. As Hye Jin starts to sound concerned, Ha Ri changes the subject. Hye Jin tells her not to wander around too long. Ha Ri tells her ‘okay.’

Hye Jin falls to sleep but Ha Ri can’t. It’s that guilt.

At his house, Sung Joon looks at the puzzle. He sighs. He looks at the smiling onion and, after a moment, he pitches it. Aw. He’s trying to ditch his growing affection from Hye Jin, because Ha Ri just gave him proof that *she’s* Hye Jin. Dirty pool! He sadly walks away from the trash can.

Next morning, he calls a meeting of the business travel team. Ra Ra arrives, singing as usual. Hye Jin brings her a report. Ra Ra asks how long she’s going to have to wait before Hye Jin becomes The Most-like. Hye Jin awkwardly says that she’s been making an effort. Ra Ra declares that it’s troppo complicato! (Too complicated!) Hye Jin’s style is absurd and hopeless. She starts to get nauseated and begs Hye Jin to be The Most-like, with some sense of style. Okay?

Hye Jin returns to her desk. Shin Hyuk rolls over and says that he will use it today. She asks what she did. He plays her promising to comply with his requests three times, no matter what. His face as he taunts her is hysterical. She can’t believe that he recorded it. He replies that, of course he did. In case she denied it. She makes a face that she’s appalled. He adds that he was going to ask her for more but he is naturally very gentle and soft-hearted. He decided to go easy on her for their first time. He tells her to buy tonight's dinner. Make it whelk, but add some plain noodles to it. Not that he’s thought about this at all. She agrees, since whelk is easy enough.

Joo Young gets Hye Jin’s attention and tells her that she’ll have to go on the trip instead. Joo Young rolls her eyes (at James Taylor's people) as she explains that they called about the dress they're collaborating on and they're sending the first draft of it in a few minutes. Which means Joo Young can’t leave. Hye Jin tries to protest that she didn’t pack a bag. Joo Young tells Hye Jin to take her luggage. Hye Jin still hesitates, but Joo Young claps her hands impatiently and demands that Hye Jin move! Move! Hye Jin goes. And Shin Hyuk sighs because he’s not getting his dinner now.

Seol is preening in the car. She gets Joon Woo’s attention and suggests that they ride together. Joon Woo mentions that they’re supposed to be going in Sung Joon’s car. Seol has an answer for that. Joon Woo reluctantly agrees. She gets extra flirty (and slappy) and Joon Woo thinks she’s acting really strangely.

They drive off as Sung Joon rolls up. He looks around for everyone. Hye Jin rolls up and says that Joo Young has to stay so she’s going. Awkward waiting. She notices a thread on his coat and reaches for it, which makes him jump backward. And leaves her feeling rejected. He gets a text that Joon Woo and Seol will be travelling separately. He loudly sighs and mutters that they should get going. He climbs in his car and tries to act calm.

Outside the car, Hye Jin freaks out.

Thoughts

Well, Sung Joon has started to like Hye Jin in spite of himself, even though he thinks that Ha Ri is his first love. And even though his shrink tells him that this fixation on his first love is nothing but a psychological issue rather than fate. In spite of himself, he’s starting to want to take care of her, even though he’s completely embarrassed by it and doesn’t want anyone to know that he might actually not hate her anymore.

But Shin Hyuk is noticing, because Shin Hyuk notices everything. And I don’t think that Shin Hyuk is too pleased about it, because he’s starting to like Jackson, too. After all, he wrangled those weasel dates, didn’t he?

Shin Hyuk continues to be my favorite character and I really wonder what his deal is. But I absolutely love it when he gives Hye Jin and now Sung Joon a hard time. Panties! Panties! Panties. Heh. And a little goosing to boot. He genuinely seems to want the good for people – whether it’s Hye Jin, Sung Joon or Ha Ri. I do wonder how long it’s going to take for him to figure out that Ha Ri is Sung Joon’s ‘girlfriend.’

The person that I’m not happy with right now is Ha Ri. Her using the puzzle piece is completely dirty, and deep down she knows it. And Sung Joon’s face was so sad to have this confirmation that this alien person is his Hye Jin. Even though it’s a lie, he’s believing it at the moment, because he’s the one being lied to. Even though he keeps getting signs that Ha Ri isn’t Hye Jin – like “it’s a green light” instead of “it’s a go!” and Hye Jin being the one who says that “it’s a go!” Like Ha Ri not hating the rain, which Hye Jin definitely wouldn’t stop doing (and hasn’t stopped doing) because of her hair. He’s still believing it, even though his head is starting to catch onto the doubts his heart is feeling.

This divide between them was most obvious when Ha Ri was upset and turned to Sung Joon for support. He awkwardly patted her, even as she leaned on him desperately. She was reaching out and he was holding back. Even though it kind of mirrored earlier when he collapsed on her, feverish and half conscious. But his doubts are starting to build the distance and make Ha Ri more neurotic, because she knows it’s all a lie anyway.

When will the truth come out?!
