Suspicious Housekeeper Episode 14 Recap

The episode starts with Bok Nyeo busting That Woman, with the video of that fateful meeting between That Woman and Sun Young. That Woman pleading with Bok Nyeo and Bok Nyeo giving the metaphorical hand. I still can’t believe she thought that the pleading would make Bok Nyeo take pity. You caused a woman to kill herself and Bok Nyeo’s supposed to feel sorry for you? In what universe? Then That Woman says that she did it all because she was in love. This gets Bok Nyeo to stop and turn around. She looks as livid as Bok Nyeo would get, like she wants to go over and punch That Woman’s teeth in. *I* want to punch That Woman's teeth in. Bok Nyeo declares that those are the words that she hate the most: “Because I was in love...” Is That Woman's love really that amazing… Enough to make someone want to kill herself? Is that love so amazing? Is it more precious than a person's life?

Then That Woman has the gall to plead that she’s a victim, too. Really? You see yourself as a victim? It’s Sun Young’s fault that now you feel guilty because she felt devastated by what you did. Yeah, it’s her fault that you wanted to stake your claim on another woman’s husband, so you totally destroyed her life and made her feel like nothing. That’s her fault. That Woman whines that she never thought Sun Young would do that! How can a mother do that? Then That Woman yells at Bok Nyeo, that she should answer and explain for Sun Young. Bok Nyeo cuts straight to it: Before Sun Young became a mother, she was a woman. And you treated her like trash and made her feel like nothing and you stole her husband. None of this gets through to That Woman or convicts her that she is a horrible person. Bok Nyeo goes to leave again and That Woman runs and stops her. She begs some more, saying that she’ll do anything Bok Nyeo want. Bok Nyeo replies that she don't have many things that she wants. And leaves her in the dust. I do not feel sorry for That Woman at all.

At home, Han Gyul is looking at Sun Young’s picture. The boys are sitting at the table and they start to discuss whether Bok Nyeo really meant it when she said she would be their mom. Doo Gyul definitely thinks so, because she signed the marriage registration form. Se Gyul says that he feels a little sorry towards Mom. Doo Gyul felt that way too. Han Gyul says that she’s sure that Omma knows that they haven’t forgotten her. Sad staring at Omma’s picture.

And now we have to suffer through That Woman feeling sorry for herself. She’s sitting on the bench by the river and she’s looking at the Dad-stone. She imagines Sun Young killing herself. I wonder what her reaction to all this self-reflection's going to be? Will she actually feel some shame?

Next day. Euns’ House. Sang Chul has tucked Hye Gyul in for a nap. Leaving her room, he runs into Bok Nyeo. He tells Bok Nyeo that she’s been working very hard, since he’s been busy. She says that it's nothing.

Later, the kids are eating and want Sang Chul to join them, but he’s too busy to eat or stay. He just came home to see them for a moment. Aw, Appa’s had a change of heart. Now he’s purposefully coming home just to see the kids. While Sang Chul is still there, Bok Nyeo makes an announcement. For now, she’s taking back the offer to be their mother, since their father continues to drag his feet. The kids aren’t happy about that idea, especially Hye Gyul. Han Gyul adds, as Sang Chul squirms a bit, it isn't that their Appa doesn't like her, it’s just that he's been so busy, he hasn't had any time to think about it. They want her to wait until Appa's bidding project is over. Bok Nyeo looks at Sang Chul and he kind of squirms a ‘yeah, that’s it.’

Gatsby Investments. Everyone’s there – Sang Chul, Dong Shik, and the living furniture – and That Woman finally arrives. She’s wearing a white dress with black hose, white shoes, and black leather jacket. Not exactly business attire. Sang Chul asks speak with her a moment. That Woman immediately looks guilty. I bet she thinks that Bok Nyeo gabbed. Please bust yourself! Please?! She cautiously steps over to his desk. He’s asking about a change he made to the proposal they’re working on. She asks if he’s been home and when she hears that he was there just for a moment, she asks if Bok Nyeo said anything. Please bust yourself! This makes Sang Chul wonder if they meet again, but That Woman is quick to act like everything’s fine. Even though she looks totally freaked.

Bok Nyeo’s at home, doing some ironing. The phone rings. It’s That Woman. She wants to know why Bok Nyeo hasn’t told Sang Chul yet. Is Bok Nyeo doing this to torment her? Yeah, *that's* why she hasn't said anything. Because it's all about her. Not that it might hurt Sang Chul's growing confidence to find out that he was pining over the woman who is the cause of his wife's suicide.

Bok Nyeo and That Woman meet at the suicide spot. That Woman can’t be bothered to be civil, even though she should really stay on Bok Nyeo’s good side. She throws the Dad-stone at Bok Nyeo’s feet, telling Bok Nyeo to take the thing back, since she doesn’t need it. Bok Nyeo picks up the stone and looks at it. That Woman yells at Bok Nyeo for tormenting her. Well, if you were honest, instead of a liar, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting exposed. That Woman demands to know when Bok Nyeo’s planning on outing her. Bok Nyeo replies that she’s thinking of not divulging it. That Woman whines at this, asking if Bok Nyeo is going to choke her until she can’t breathe. Bok Nyeo’s doing this to trample her!

Bok Nyeo replies that the pain the children will feel will be too great. If they see it, they will hate their father again. Closing an open wound is painful and difficult. Bok Nyeo says she’s not going to show it to anyone, unless, of course, if That Woman does anything foolish. That Woman wants to know how she can believe what Bok Nyeo said. After saying that, there’s no guarantee that she won't reveal it later. Except that she has integrity and cares about someone other than herself. Bok Nyeo replies that whether That Woman believes or not is up to her. That Woman wants Bok Nyeo to make her believe it, by demanding a payoff or something. Bok Nyeo does decide to ask for something: she wants That Woman to look into Ji Hoon. Because she still doesn’t totally believe that he’s not Ji Hoon. As she shouldn’t.

Bok Nyeo is braiding Hye Gyul’s hair. She tells Hye Gyul that she’s going to show her some magic. Hye Gyul’s excited. All the kids gather for Bok Nyeo’s trick. She open’s Hye Gyul’s family tin and shows them what’s inside. Then she closes it, covers it with a towel, waves and pulls the towel away and then pushed over to Hye Gyul to open. When she does, the Dad-stone is in the tin! The kids are amazed and Hye Gyul is elated that her Dad-stone is back! Just then Sang Chul arrives home. Hye Gyul shows him the stone and tells him that Bok Nyeo found it with magic. He looks at the stone and then at Bok Nyeo, surprised that his Dad-stone is back.

That night, as Bok Nyeo leaves, Sang Chul asks her what happened, because the rock was definitely lost. Bok Nyeo replies that it’s a secret. Then she goes, leaving a confused Sang Chul behind. Heh.

Gatsby Enterprises. Ji Hoon’s staring at the picture of Bok Nyeo smiling. There's a knock on the door so he tucks the picture – not in his breast pocket where it would fit and where no one would think to look for it – under the turntable of his phonograph. That Woman comes in as he’s doing it and sees. She pretends not have seen anything and instead brings him what she’s carrying: the modified proposal. He asks her if she’ll continue to accept advice from Bok Nyeo. Of course she will. And for a moment I was wondering how he knew about her conversation with Bok Nyeo. But then… Ji Hoon tells her that she follows orders well. That Woman replies that she’s got no choice, since it’s his order. He laughs and smiles. Because he’s cocky like that and enjoys making people squirm.

Sang Chul arrives at Grandpa’s office. Grandpa wants to know if Sang Chul brought the contract. Instead of handing it over, Sang Chul reports that they’re going to use a different supplier for the kitchen and bathroom materials. Grandpa wants to know if it’s because That Woman refused to sign the contract. Ah, it’s *that* contract. Sang Chul says that he wouldn't let her write one. Because he’s an idiot. A too trusting idiot. Sang Chul rationalizes that a contract is just a piece of paper. How can Grandpa believe it? Grandpa snaps that he was going to get it notarized by an attorney! Sang Chul sighs as Grandpa squirms with frustration and asks Grandpa to keep watch over what happens. He’s not going to abandon the children again and he’s going to try to win this bid without Grandpa’s help. Sang Chul declares that he doesn't want to win this bid by making the woman he ruined to sign a contract. It really is annoying to hear him refer to That Woman as ‘the woman I ruined.’ She was ruined long before she met you and I bet you're not the first man she's done this too. Sang Chul adds that if he wins the bid on his own, he’d like Grandpa to help him with his next project, not as his son-in-law, but as a partner. Grandpa stares at him, shocked, and think that Sang Chul sounds like a man for the first time in 17 years!

That Woman and Bok Nyeo are meeting to look over the revisions to the bid proposal. That Woman leans in and says that she looked into ‘it’ and it's all true (Ji Hoon’s story). Because he’s good at covering his tracks. And he’s planned his cover story. Although, how he passes as Chinese… That Woman’s almost human as she adds that , if it happened to her, she would feel the same terror, she can understand it to an extent. Whatever. That Woman asks what kind of a person Ji Hoon was. When Bok Nyeo ignores the question, That Woman adds that she needs to know something in order to find out.

Bok Nyeo relents and says that Ji Hoon is someone who is always standing behind your back. Whether she moved or changed her place of work, he was always appearing in the background. And that explains why she's so cagey about people (Sang Chul) standing behind her. He did it so as to prove his love. Bok Nyeo says that no matter how much she tried to persuade him that it wasn't love, it was of no use. She felt so nervous that she couldn't bear to turn her head, because at that moment, he could be standing behind her back and calling her name. Just the description of it is creepy. After Bok Nyeo married and had a child, she thought he would give up. But, he reappeared and he set the house on fire and killed her husband and son.

That Woman is surprisingly moved by Bok Nyeo’s story. She apologizes for making Bok Nyeo remember such a horrible memory. I didn’t think that she would actually be able to be sympathetic. Maybe there’s something redeemable in there after all. That Woman asks if there was anything strange when she worked as CEO Jang's housekeeper? Bok Nyeo mentions the music box in his safe and photos of another woman that he said was someone he loved who had died. That Woman thinks, that because Bok Nyeo’s been to his house, he probably won't have left anything in his house. He’d probably leave it at his office. And That Woman has an object in mind – the phonograph. He appeared from behind it at her first interview and it looked like he was doing something with it. And there’s one at his house, too. That Woman asks if Ji Hoon had an interest in that area, but it doesn’t stick out to Bok Nyeo.

Bok Nyeo thinks about Ji Hoon’s reverie for “What Will I Do?” when she was at his home serving him soup. That Woman says that there is an opportunity tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm to search Ji Hoon’s office. But Bok Nyeo can’t, because the children come home at that hour.

Auntie calls Sang Chul and asks him out to lunch. Or, rather, she has lunch to bring him. At the office, Sang Chul and Dong Shik are digging in. Sang Chul introduces them and Dong Shik gives her a really lame compliment and the food tasting being depressing because she’s so cute. The compliment (and hitting on her) completely goes over Auntie’s head.

Director Hong’s visiting Grandpa at his business. He tells her to pick new commode – since he hates her current one. Heh. She grumbles that someone with no money can’t afford something like this... Grandpa retorts that the bathroom has be sturdy for your life to be sturdy. She tells him that if he has that kind of money, he should buy some clothes with it. A man walks up and bows to Grandpa, calling him President. It takes a moment to sink it, but Director Hong realizes that he *owns* this huge business and they’re not just there for him to buy her a toilet. She’s too stunned to say anything. Grandpa picks one and orders the driver to load it into the car.

The driver is taking Director Hong back to the office. She’s a bit sad. She mutters that it was really nice when she thought that he had no money. She wasn’t the ex-housekeeper at his uncle's place, but, a proud owner of a housework agency. Then he had to go all the way to being the CEO... She felt so proud to be able to fed him a $4.50 bowl of soup... But he was rich. She starts to cry.

Bok Nyeo is taking down the dried laundry. Mrs. Nosy appears on the patio and mentions that she heard from Mrs. Butcher that Bok Nyeo’s going to marry Sang Chul. Bok Nyeo asks why it’s her business. Mrs. Nosy says something to the effect of, that they’re now going to be neighbors so they can be neighborly. What she’s really after is getting some help with the Mr. Nosy situation. Next thing we see, Mrs. Nosy is crying, telling Bok Nyeo about her problem. She’s crying. Bok Nyeo’s folding clothes, just listening. Mrs. Nosy is worried about their son, since he idolizes his dad. And Mr. Nosy… he was nice enough to not be sorry. He didn't even blink when Mrs. Nosy tried talking to him. His response: he told her to stop spouting nonsense and to get a divorce if she wanted. I think he’s banking on still having a job, since that’s how he gets the girls. The dude isn’t that good looking. Very different than Sang Chul, I think. I think if Sun Young had stayed around, Sang Chul would have groveled big time. Because he really did love his wife.

Mrs. Nosy asks Bok Nyeo what she would do. Bok Nyeo’s surprised. Mrs. Nosy tells Bok Nyeo that she has no one else to talk to. She can’t talk to the neighbor ajummas, because they’ll spread rumors. She has no family nearby to comfort her. She asks Bok Nyeo what she should do. Bok Nyeo replies that that is something for her to decide. She doesn’t know that Bok Nyeo tells that to everybody, partially because she doesn’t think it’s her place to be giving anyone advice after what happened with her family. Because Mrs. Nosy doesn’t understand, she gets frustrated and moans about why this household has to be her neighbor.

Soo Hyuk is walking down the street. A bunch of those dumb girls see him and run after him calling Oppa. They stop when they see him enter the BAR. Because it’s that kind of place. Where people drink, get drunk and pick up random strangers. Unfortunately, American is littered with them and no one thinks it’s shameful. But this is Korea, where they acknowledge that such things are shameful. The Oppa-Girls go and tell Han Gyul and Woo Jae that it's not an ordinary bar. It's the kind of place where women pay. . . That kind of bar. They mention about Soo Hyuk dropping out of school in order to earn money for his dad. Han Gyul and Woo Jae are understandably upset, since Soo Hyuk promised that he wouldn’t do that sort of thing. Han Gyul tells the girls that if they’re wrong again this time (since these are the same stupid girls who were harassing her), that she won't just let it slide. They protest that they saw it clearly. Woo Jae tells the Oppa Girls to say where it is and he and Han Gyul will find out what’s going on.

So Han Gyul and Woo Jae take to hanging out, outside the BAR. They’ve called Auntie for help. Because Auntie’s really smooth like that. When she hears what’s going on, she’s horrified. Because she thinks that Soo Hyuk’s father is scum, too. Auntie can’t believe that Soo Hyuk’s father could send his child to this kind of place, even if he was so much in debt that he was being chased by loan sharks. Auntie sighs and surveys the building as she says that for places like this, they just need to report it to the police and have them go out of business. Han Gyul wants to do that later. Right now, she just wants to get Soo Hyuk Sunbae out of there. Auntie isn’t quite up for that. But Han Gyul and Woo Jae both want her to try. Auntie decides she will try and asks what he looks like. Han Gyul has a picture (of her and him together, because when they were dating) on her phone and Auntie thinks Soo Hyuk is *really* cute.

Soo Hyuk’s now in a suit, leaning against the wall. It looks like he’s waiting. A drunk woman staggers up and asks if he’s underage. He tries ignoring her, but she’s talking about his good looks and tells him he should smile. He replies by asking if the drunk woman can bring his girlfriend over, since he only smiles when she's around. Is this a fictional girlfriend, or is he thinking about Han Gyul? Auntie enters and comes over, asking to speak with Soo Hyuk. He sighs and tries to ignore her. I can’t tell if he recognizes her or not. She tells him that she knows his situation, but, this is really, really, really not right. She’s trying to broach the subject, but because she’s Auntie, she’s fumbling it. Soo Hyuk looks at her and tells her, “No, thank you. Just go and drink.” Auntie stumbles over the explanation when a guy comes up and hands Soo Hyuk a guitar. Soo Hyuk’s all business, asking what room he needs to go to. He walks off with the other musicians with Auntie looking a little dumbfounded.

Outside, Han Gyul and Woo Jae are anxiously waiting. Auntie comes out without Soo Hyuk. Auntie tells them that it looks like Soo Hyuk’s got a part-time job playing music inside. They’re relieved, but still concerned because there's nothing good with this place. And from behind them a voice asks, “What are you doing here?” It’s Bok Nyeo. I don’t know why they didn’t call her in the first place… Woo Jae, always polite, bows and greets Bok Nyeo. Auntie purses her lips. Han Gyul wants to know what Bok Nyeo’s doing there. Bok Nyeo, who’s carrying some fruit, says that the real question is what *Han Gyul* is doing there. Bok Nyeo asks if she needs to call Sang Chul.

Bok Nyeo and Han Gyul head home, where Han Gyul is practically begging her for help. Bok Nyeo stops and asks why Han Gyul is in her band: because she loves music or Soo Hyuk. Bok Nyeo pulls a ‘K-Pop Star’ Audition Form out from her apron and asks Han Gyul why she threw it away. Han Gyul sighs and says that she doesn't have any confidence. She doesn't know if she has the skills. Bok Nyeo tells her that, since that’s the case, she needs to quit the band immediately. Han Gyul mutters that she had the confidence when Soo Hyuk was in the band. Bok Nyeo crumbles up the audition form again and throws is away in the nearest trash basket. Then she walks away, leaving Han Gyul to stand, staring at the crumpled up form in the trash.

Bok Nyeo and Hye Gyul are out at the market buying food. Bok Nyeo checks her watch. It’s 2:41. She sighs. Then she gets a call from That Woman, who tells her that the coast is clear at the office; everyone has left to go to the project bidding. That Woman sighs about what an inconvenience what a small child like Hye Gyul is and asks Bok Nyeo if she can't just leave her somewhere, like, next door or something.

At the building where the presentation is taking place, Sang Chul runs into his old boss and Supervisor Yoon. Yoon gives him a hard time for using his father-in-law in his bid. Then they say some jerky things and his old boss tells Sang Chul that he might as well come back to JK (the company) when Sang Chul can.

In the parking garage, That Woman discovers Ji Hoon practically unconscious and sweating in his car. But as she pulls out her phone for help, he grabs it and tells her to drive.

At the other building, Sang Chul and Dong Shik are anxiously awaiting Ji Hoon and That Woman’s arrival. Sang Chul’s annoyed that they’re late, although he tries to pretend he’s not. Phone call and it’s That Woman, making excuses for why she and Ji Hoon aren’t there. Sang Chul buys it. Because he’s a sap where she’s concerned.

Later, the results of the bids are revealed. JK’s Healing Town got a total of 80 points. JK is happy with that score. We don’t get to hear the score for Neo-China Gatsby.

That Woman arrives at the hospital with Ji Hoon, where men rush out to help him inside. Which strikes me as a little unusual, but they could have called ahead so the people were on the lookout for his arrival. Ji Hoon is admitted into one of the fancy rooms and given an IV. At the deak, Song Hwa’s trying to get information, but they won’t release any. Even though she argues that Ji Hoon doesn't have any family here and she and her co-workers are like his family, the nurse refuses to release the patient's private information. Which doesn’t make any sense since Song Hwa is the person who brought him in. Who was assigned as his guardian? Because someone in the hospital always has a guardian. Ji Hoon comes out and authorizes the nurse to tell Song Hwa that he’s dying soon. He’s dying? Really? He’s dying? I have to say, I’m a little disappointed.

Oh, the scores for Sang Chul’s bid. It’s 10 points better than JK, so they win the investment. Sang Chul jumps up and starts cheering, congratulating his team on how hard they worked. His old boss glares as he congratulates Sang Chul.

At the hospital, Ji Hoon is in bed, calmly reading. I can’t tell what he’s reading, but the author’s picture kind of looks like F. Scott Fitzgerald. Now I see the title. It is ‘The Great Gatsby.’ At least he’s consistent in his delusion. That Woman enters and he asks her, since she now knows, why she’s trying to dig for more information. What is he dying from? Besides cancer, I mean. They always die of cancer. She yells at him, that this was his secret? She thought he might have been Seo Ji Hoon. Which he is. But, the thing he was hiding was that he was sick? He asks her why she isn’t crying or pitying him and then tells her she’s a cold person anyway. She asks him if he can be cured. He’s flip as he tells her no. She wants to know why he’s being like this, doing all this, when he could die at any moment. That Woman declares that she’s going to call Sang Chul, because her co-workers should know what’s going on. He tells her to put the phone down, since he has other things to find out. And then he does something I didn’t expect. He admits he’s Seo Ji Hoon. Song Hwa’s so shocked, she drops her phone. He says that he’s the one who killed Park Eun Soo's family. All Song Hwa can do is limply stand there, staring at him.

Bok Nyeo and Hye Gyul are headed for the butcher shop. Mr. Butcher is happy to see her. Mrs. Butcher is annoyed that Mr. Butcher is calling her Bok Nyeo-shi instead of Bok Nyeo-nim. He tells his wife that it's kind of weird now that Bok Nyeo’s getting married soon. Mrs. Butcher harps about how she told him to wake up from his dream about Bok Nyeo. He replies that he never said he was going to do anything with her, especially since he has Mrs. Butcher. Mrs. Butcher mutters that when she was young, she was that skinny and pretty, too. Suddenly Mr. Butcher grabs her by the shoulder and tells her that Bok Nyeo looks exactly like Mrs. Butcher when she was younger, that’s why he smiles at her. Mrs. Butcher feels really bad about giving her husband a hard time. While Mr. Butcher gets the pork that Hye Gyul has ordered for them, Bok Nyeo glances at her watch: 3:12. Her chance to look around Ji Hoon’s office is ticking by. Bok Nyeo asks the Butchers if she could leave Hye Gyul with them. Mrs. Butcher is all smiles now and agrees. But Hye Gyul whines that she has to watch Pororo at home! So Bok Nyeo acquiesces. When they leave, Mrs. Butcher asks if Mr. Butcher included his usual freebies. He sighs and asks how she knew. But instead of yelling this time, she smiles and tells him, “Good job, husband!” She is so easy. He should have told her a long time ago.

At home, Hye Gyul is watching Pororo. Bok Nyeo is bummed that she wasn’t able to get away. Se Gyul arrives and Bok Nyeo leaves the girl with her brother. She’ll be back in 3 hours, no matter what. Just in time for dinner. Se Gyul agrees, as long as Bok Nyeo isn’t meeting with her mother-in-law. Good watching out.

Bok Nyeo makes it to Gatsby Investments and goes inside. She starts searching around the phonograph and there’s nothing.

At the hospital, Ji Hoon holds up that picture of Bok Nyeo as proof that he is who he says he is. Song Hwa is still in shock. He says that he is that guy. The one who made Bok Nyeo flee to Somalia. Seo Ji Hoon. The one who made her lose her husband and child. That Seo Ji Hoon. The one who stole her laughter, and the guy that died. He’s that very Seo Ji Hoon. As he’s talking about what he’s done, his face is pretty inscrutable. But when he asks Song Hwa if she gets it now, he smiles that smile.

Ji Hoon’s Office. Bok Nyeo continues to search around the phonograph, pulling out the records and looking over them. She pulls out that special record – Man, Ji Hoon has at least two copies of it – and thinks about that time when she brought Ji Hoon porridge and he cried, specifically how the lyrics said, “What'll I do? When I only have a picture to tell my troubles to. When I'm alone with only dreams of you. What'll I do?” She pulls out the record and looks inside the case. I don’t think anything’s there, because she sighed. Bok Nyeo gets a phone call. It’s Se Gyul desperately saying that Hye Gyul’s disappeared!

Back at the hospital. Ji Hoon painfully gets out of bed to stand before Song Hwa. She stutters, how, since the police closed the investigation. She asks why he’s revealing that he’s Seo Ji Hoon. He replies that it was the only way to stop her from telling people that he’s sick. He says that for him, there is a much larger secret than the one that he’s Seo Ji Hoon. One that he never wants to reveal to Park Eun Soo. Is it that he’s sick? That he’ll be dead soon? That doesn’t make any sense, since you being dead would give her a sense of relief. Song Hwa can’t understand his reasoning. How can there be a bigger secret than being a murderer? Ji Hoon starts stare talking, saying that to him, there is, because if it’s revealed, all of his dreams will disappear. Then he rambles a bit, and I don’t quite follow him…
That woman smiling again... I want to see Park Eun Soo living as a woman again. But... Will that be okay? Even knowing that it still hurts? Besides all the pain. Might as well give Park Eun Soo a chance. To kill Seo Ji Hoon and move to the west or something.
Read it for the third time, and I’m still not following him. Why’s he keeping it a secret? So she can have some closure, since he’s dying anyway? How is making her a murderer going to make her smile again?

Ji Hoon tells Song Hwa that she has a good head and to think about what's best for everyone. Because she’s really good at doing that, considering the needs of others above herself. He tells her that it will be a good experience, working both sides. Another motivation? Sang Chul. And we know That Woman’s going to take it, because she’s selfish and doesn’t know what love is. I thought maybe That Woman, as she listened to his rambling, was horrified, partially because she was hearing herself in his words, but I think I’m hoping for too much out of her.

Bok Nyeo’s frantically running around, looking for Hye Gyul. She calls someone for an update and asks if the police or Sang Chul have found her yet.

Hospital. Ji Hoon tells That Woman that if she doesn't want their kids to be in pain again, if she wants to block Park Eun Soo from being a murderer, she should keep her mouth closed. That Woman tells him that Bok Nyeo’s not going to stop. That’s why he wants her to help him, so she’ll believe that some crazy guy with a complex and a lot of money is following her around and that he really likes her. How will that help her?

Bok Nyeo’s looking. She thinks that if something bad happens to Hye Gyul because of her, she’ll never be able to forgive herself. How it’s because of her, I don’t know. Se Gyul’s the one who was watching her. And the girl is old enough to know not to wander off. In her thoughts, Bok Nyeo begs, “Please. Please. Just don't let anything bad happen to Hye Gyul." The kids are also out looking for Hye Gyul, yelling her name. Why they’re all searching *together* instead of spreading out and covering more ground, I don’t know. Bok Nyeo finally finds Hye Gyul, out looking for a Bok Nyeo-stone. When Hye Gyul tells her what she’s doing, Bok Nyeo starts to cry. Hye Gyul asks why she’s crying. Bok Nyeo rushes over and pulls Hye Gyul into a hug and tells the girl that she’s crying because she’s really thankful. And I have something in my eye. The other kids arrive and see Hye Gyul with Bok Nyeo. The five of them walk home. No one has yelled at Hye Gyul about running off without telling anyone, since she’s got a wide smile on her face. Han Gyul gets a phone call. It’s Sang Chul. He just now got the message because he left his phone at the office. Han Gyul tells him that Hye Gyul is okay.

Hospital. Song Hwa’s phone rings. Ji Hoon reaches down and picks up her phone. He asks her if she knows what happens to a bird that speaks without thinking. Yes, he is a psycho who murdered some people, so he could be a threat, but in his weakened state, you could take him. Ji Hoon answers the phone and puts it on speaker. Creeper! Bok Nyeo announces that she’s ending things, right now, her suspicion of CEO Jang. Ji Hoon smiles in reaction to that news. Bok Nyeo says that she’s decided to accept the fact that it was an obsession. Song Hwa tells Bok Nyeo she understands and hangs up the phone. Ji Hoon’s pretty excited because she said she won't suspect him of anything! Now all That Woman has to do is help him.

The kids are hanging out waiting for dinner to be served. They sure do hang out a lot for siblings. Hye Gyul and Doo Gyul are doing string designs. Doo Gyul’s pretty good! I loved doing those when I was a kid. I’ve forgotten most of them, but I always thought it was so cool to be able to do. Bok Nyeo watches them and I can’t tell what she’s thinking.

Sang Chul’s finally home and he’s excited. But as soon as Bok Nyeo greets him with her customary, “You've returned,” his face turns serious. The dork is trying to make it look like they didn’t get the investment. He asks where the kids are and he’s told that Hye Gyul fell asleep and the rest are upstairs. Bok Nyeo’s face shows concern as he describes what happened, but about halfway through, he can’t help but admit that they succeeded in the bidding. He asks Bok Nyeo why she isn’t congratulating him and she wants to know why she should. Sang Chul says because he won the bid without his father-in-law’s assistance, as his own man. He proved to them that he could succeed without Grandpa’s help. Bok Nyeo asks him why he’s talking to her about this, since she’s not his wife. They aren't by law, married yet. Sang Chul admits that this is true, but he says that for some reason, he just wanted to brag about it to her and for her to congratulate him. Because you like her, you doofus.

Sang Chul mentions that neither Ji Hoon nor Song Hwa were there at the bid process. That strikes Bok Nyeo as off, even though she doesn’t say so. She asks why That Woman wasn’t there and Sang Chul says that That Woman said she didn't feel well. She’s been having a hard time these days, so he felt bad. Then he adds, “And it's not like I can go visit her.” Bok Nyeo wants to take her some food. Sang Chul agrees.

As Bok Nyeo makes the porridge, she thinks about her smiling husband and son and then her son screaming for her to save him. She’s definitely bothered.

Outside of Ji Hoon's, Bok Nyeo calls That Woman and mentions that she heard that That Woman wasn’t feeling well. That Woman says that she feels better now. Bok Nyeo asks if there’s something between That Woman and Ji Hoon. That Woman says that she’s resting at home. As Bok Nyeo watches her arrive with Ji Hoon in Ji Hoon’s car. That Woman tells Bok Nyeo that she checked the phonograph and there wasn’t anything. Bok Nyeo hides behind a wall so that they won’t see her from the car.

Walking home, Bok Nyeo is thinking. She wonders “Why are you lying? Why?” She thinks of seeing Ji Hoon in the restaurant; him telling her that they’re in the same situation – people who believe that the dead are alive; weeping at the police station. The next day, she’s gone to the amusement park and makes her usual order. She pulls out a picture of her with her husband and son. They’re all smiling and look so happy. It was taken the same day as the memory of her family at the table, with the son asking about going to the amusement park. She starts to cry as she thinks that she found the person who murdered them. She’s not sure what she should do.

Gatsby Investments. Ji Hoon arrives and compliments everyone. Bonuses all around. He also mentions to Sang Chul to pass along his gratitude on to Bok Nyeo and that he’ll thank her later.

At home, Bok Nyeo is talking on the phone. The kids are listening anxiously. They want to know if Bok Nyeo’s going to be their mother or not. Bok Nyeo hangs up the phone and, at Doo Gyul’s prompting, Se Gyul asks her to help him with a math problem. Bok Nyeo replies that she can’t, because she just made and appointment to meet with Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon’s asked her out on a date and she’s agreed.

Sang Chul arrives home to find Ji Hoon leaning against his car, smiling. When Sang Chul asks why he’s there, Ji Hoon announces that he has a date with Bok Nyeo. Sang Chul doesn’t seem too excited at how Ji Hoon’s choosing to thank Bok Nyeo separately. Sang Chul goes inside, where Bok Nyeo greets him. Se Gyul tells him that Bok Nyeo’s going out on a date. Sang Chul wants to know if she agreed to the date. She basically asks him if she can’t go out on a date? Since Sang Chul keeps saying he doesn’t want to marry her? Why does this bother him? Han Gyul asks Sang Chul why he’s just sitting there, watching it happen. She reminds him that he’s the one who ran away without putting a stamp on the legal document. Bok Nyeo holds out the marriage application. Sang Chul just awkwardly looks at her. She tells him that since the date of the promise expired, she will think of it as never happening. Sang Chul can throw it away or rip it. He can do whatever he wants. She waves it at him and he finally takes it. She announces that she’s going on her date.

As she starts to go, Sang Chul finally speaks, saying that he doesn't have the right to stop her, but he’s a bit worried, because of last time. Bok Nyeo says that since he turned her down from being his wife, he should mind his own business. Han Gyul asks if this means she’s choosing Ji Hoon and Bok Nyeo says that it does. The kids are not happy about that at all. Sang Chul asks her if she’s trying to go with Ji Hoon and Bok Nyeo replies that yes, she is thinking about dating CEO Jang. Sang Chul is stunned and the episode ends.

Thoughts

I'm not sure how I feel about today's episode. It was full of plot development, but I'm not walking away from it with any really strong thoughts. I was a bit surprised that Ji Hoon admitted who he is to Song Hwa, and here it makes another secret that Song Hwa is keeping that will hurt other people, all because she's thinking of herself. I'm not sure I get what Ji Hoon is thinking, but the man is psycho, so his thoughts don't make sense. I'm a little disappointed that Ji Hoon is dying, though, although it might explain why he decided to come out of the woodwork now. It also explains why he was getting pushed around in a wheelchair when we saw Tae Shik talking to him.

I'm very happy that Sang Chul won the bid, although I didn't doubt that he would. It was great to see him feeling so confident for earning success on his own accomplishment, rather than riding someone's coattails.

I'm not sure how we're supposed to feel about Song Hwa. I still don't like That Woman. The fact that she painted herself as a victim in Sun Young's death just really kills me. The face that Sang Chul is still getting duped by her kills me. I'm glad, at least, that Dong Shik seems to have let go of his crush on her. I'm still wondering *when* Sang Chul's going to find out what Song Hwa did. I really think that he needs to, to see her for who she is and so he can stop feeling love for her once and for all.

A little development on the Director Hong and Grandpa story. I wonder how Director Hong's going to interact with him now that she doesn't think he's poor. I think part of the reason he likes her is because she gives him a hard time right back. So what's going to happen when she loses that?

And what about Auntie? Why is Auntie even a character?

And what will happen with Han Gyul, Woo Jae and Soo Hyuk. The kid has dropped out and is now having to suffer getting hit on by drunk women. When will this finally end for him? And where is his mother? How can she let him do this? Although, I'm starting to wonder if maybe his mother hasn't run off and left him to fend for himself in an effort to get away from the dad. Another example of a mother abandoning her child because of a scummy man.

It was really nice to find out that the whole reason why Mr. Butcher likes Boko Nyeo is because she looks like Mrs. Butcher. I hope that means that she's start being nicer to the man now. So Woo Jae doesn't have to see any more abuse at home.

Finally, when is Sang Chul going to realize that he wants more from Bok Nyeo than her being just a housekeeper? So they can become a family and we can finally see her smiling? That picture of her with her husband and son was so sweet. They all looked so happy. I want her to be happy like that again.
